What a beacon in the night this place was!!!!! This was not your typical situation.... Some friends and I were on a casual run from San Francisco to Las Vegas (like on foot!). We were coming up on our second night of running through the night. Learning that Love's had SHOWERS was like finding an oasis in the desert! Well, that's what Love's is right? My group arrived at Love's around 2am. I was the last runner and eager to rinse off all the grime from the last 40 hours. We were greeted with such friendly service. Even though there was a wait for the showers at 2am, the attendants were really friendly and curious why a bunch of women in running clothes were wanting to shower in the middle of the night. We nearly blew their mind when we told them we had run there from San Francisco. The showers were really clean and so were the towels. The whole process was really simple and everyone was able to get their showers in before we continued on. Love's also had a great selection of souvenirs and snacks. I'll probably never be in this situation ever again but Love's was probably my favorite thing from that day! Many thanks to Love's for existing and being our oasis in the night! read more

It was the coolest thing I've ever seen at a gas station real grass. We went to two different Loves Travel Stops today, one this morning in Lake Havasu Arizona (excellent coffee) the other 275 miles away in Tehachapi California. Both locations were very busy the Tehachapi location shared space with a McDonald's and a Subway. This location was rocking. The stores and facilities were clean and attended by friendly employees. Their gas price was a deal compared with most all the other competitors we noted. Loves has more gas and diesel pumps than any place I've seen. The stores are fully stocked with just about anything you might need almost like a Walmart they have everything. Plenty of parking, and a nice large pet area If you need to take a break and stretch your legs or need to go shopping, your hungry, fill up your tank. My first tank of gas in California and it hurt. I have never spent over $100 on a tank of gas in my life. Oh, my. Love's, at least, was some of the cheapest gas I bought while I spent time in the Golden State. And as Love's go, this was a good one. Clean, easy to access (a few turns but wide ones) and the pump area was tidy. Inside, the usual snacks and drinks and roller hot dogs and such. Rest rooms were clean. This place is well kept until you get to the bathrooms. One was completely gross and the other had broken wires so you couldn't flush the toilet. I had to warn the woman waiting when I came out. Not bad if you're in a pinch but I would opt for somewhere else if you're not pressed. read more

There is a reason that this location has such a high rating. I stopped here on a long road trip and it had everything that I needed, and even some things that I didn't realize I did. This Loves has lots of great snacks and drinks, including fresh items and it is connected to a McDonald's and a Subway so no matter what you are hungry for, they should have something for you. The gas prices are reasonable and they have lots of bays, so my big van was no issue to pull in. They also have a pet relief area that is grassy and clean, stocked with bags. The restroom for humans was clean as well and there were lots of people taking showers which I didn't even know you could do at a gas station. I was able to fill up, get a snack, let my dog out and get a little rest before hitting the road. It's well let and feels safe. I honestly cannot think of anything they could even add to make this place better. Staff was nice and I recommend stopping here if you're out this way. read more

So our water heater broke and our options for showers were slim. We decided to head to the truck stop. I've been here many times for gas or CB radio stuff. Always friendly staff and clean place. I wasn't sure what to expect for the showers. We walked up to back counter, asked for a shower, no problem, paid the $16 and got our shower number and code. They allow couples to use the same shows which was nice to save time and money. The room was surprisingly clean, truck stop stigma was debunked. They provide clean towels and soap dispensers in the shower. Two shower heads and the top one has massage option. The water was nice and hot. Overall it was a great experience and if I'm ever in need I will defiantly visit this loves again. read more

Really excited initially to walk my dogs in the dog park. I had my own poop bag but 2 stations were out of bags, and poop all over the place. We travel in a RV, and always look for gas stations that have a wide entrance and high clearance at the pump area, also a truck stop that we can park over night for sleeping. Love's has it all. Like other truck stops, Love's is always packed. Love's also has scales and tire assessment service at some of the stations. It costs $12 to scale, fast and easy. No cost at tire assessment and the service is really good! This time we applied for "My Love Rewards", which you can gain rewards with every qualifying fuel or merchandise purchase. The lady at the counter was very helpful, she assisted us to register! If you plan to stay over night at this Love's in Tehachapi, it can be windy and really cold in the night coz it's located in high altitude. Ok let's get into it. This loves location in Tehachapi, I found to be mostly like the others. The service is always great! Pretty much all of your trucking need will be met at this location. They did have a tire inflation station that I hadn't seen at any other location. (Dope Frfr) for the most part the establishment was pretty clean. There was a weird moment tho. I happened to be in a bathroom stall and I clearly heard one of the employees talkin right out front of my stall hanging out. When I was done I came out and this guy (employee wearing a red shirt) was waiting for me to get out so he could go in & clean it. That was a bit intrusive & weird I was thinkin. I'm like if someone is in the stall u should leave for a few min then come back dude, not hover in the front of the stall talking loudly. Kinda disrespectful in my opinion. If you buy gas here, they place a $175.00 or more hold on your credit card. When the fraud alert came up on my phone I tried multiple numbers for Love's only to have no one answer the phone, or pick up and hang up. The corporate phone tree is impossible to navigate to a live person. I travel a lot. This is the first time I have ever been charged a "hold" when buying gas. This Love's is always a must stop on the way out of Bakersfield. They have a clean parking lot, clean restrooms, and a subway and McDonald's. The convenience store is fully stocked on just about everything you can think of for a road trip (don't forget the snacks!). The only "gripe" I guess you can say is the subway does not offer breakfast and we were told by the manager none of the Loves' subways do. Filled up here after putting some gas in Bakersfield. Not a bad Love's. A little tight compared to the one in Madera. A lot of toyhaulers and snowbirds fill here so even at 6 PM I found it hard to get a pump. Inside the store was hit and miss: I found a really good deal on Propel water, Rogue Mango (Love that stuff), and some chips. The selection is halfway decent. Customer service was average. Not bad, not the best. Fuel prices were great compared to the last station I filled gas. NOT FRIENDLY! My family and I decided to stop here on the way back home and it was such a bad idea. Their staff are not competent and have terrible customer service. REBECCA is their lead and needs more training. After they double charge me for $52, she was irritated with me because there was a long line and she wanted to take her lunch break.
