Growing up in HP, Love's is a staple dessert stop for me whenever I'm in town. The interior hasn't changed since my childhood, simple booths and minimal decor - could use a bit of a facelift to modernize but nothing crazy. I normally stop by when I'm in town with a couple of friends after dinner time for a quick dessert. Through the years, my order has stayed consistent and it tastes the same every time! If you love tart frozen yogurt, their California Tart is my favorite. I always have California Tart with Cookie Dough & Chocolate Chips. There's a guy who seems to be the manager of this Love's who's ruining the stores consumer experience and profit capability. He speaks in broken English. I knew the store was not dog friendly, so I held my pup on leash and opened the front door. I asked if I could give him my order then leave my pup in the vestibule to pay & pick up. He *shouted* 'NO DOGS IN THIS PLACE.' I never brought the dog in and his time sounded like I was talking about his mother. Then, the other day, our said at home, my wife and I stopped in. There was a teen buying yogurt in the store and looking at the flavors through the glass. She politely asked if she could taste a flavor in a small spoon. 'NO... NO TASTING IN STORE!'. I was shocked. Same guy, same nasty attitude. We both walked out and I will never darken the store's entrance again. I didn't need harassment while shopping frozen yogurt. Love's... Growing up in Highland Park, I grew up on Love's Yogurt - for first dates, after school dances, with my family and friends - for all occasions! I always looked forward to my Fro-yo. Ever since Love's was taken over by new ownership, the customer service has made me choose other Fro-yo/ice cream shops instead. The owner is NOT NICE. He is rude, condescending, and unpleasant. They don't allow you to try samples (which is a key part of the Fro-yo experience) and are very stingy with the punch cards. He talks back and makes snarky remarks. I'm not sure how such an unpleasant person could be an owner in the food service industry. It makes me sad that this childhood establishment has gone from such positive to such negative memories for me. read more

Two stars is being generous and because the icecream was good and it was clean. This review was written by me and two ten year old kids who are not happy with this place. Customer service was unpleasant; they were not friendly, nor welcoming, and weren't very good listeners. This was our first time coming and they weren't willing to assist us; we had to figure it out on our own. We thought it was self-serve fro-yo, but we were completely wrong. They weren't very helpful when the kids tried to pick toppings. This wasn't worth the cost.!This place needs to hire new staff immediately. I can't say enough about Loves. They have a huge selection of yogurt first of all including one sugar free. They have California Tart which is my favorite and is very hard to find. They have so many toppings too. All put in little cups for cleanliness. Today I bought a pint to take home and they were kind enough to pack it in ice for me because I had a half hour drive home. Since my last review here, I decided to give them another try after management encouraged me to come back. This time, after waiting to find some parking (note: lunchtime in the summer = the entire city is crowded!), I ordered a pesto panini and a small frozen yogurt. It cost nearly $10 just for those. I also noticed the price of the salad I got last time actually went up a dollar or so. In fact, the more I looked at the entire menu, the most I realized how expensive it was! And the toppings for the frozen yogurt are an extra charge. But, this is Highland Park, so what else can you expect? To make sure the frozen yogurt didn't melt before I got around to it, I ate it before the panini. It was delicious! Unlike frozen yogurt chains, this yogurt tasted genuine. Is it even possible to say that yogurt is genuine? Well, if so, this one is. The panini was also really good -- I actually wasn't expecting it to be that good! They both complimented each other well, too. It's not often that you find a place that offers salads & sandwiches AND good frozen yogurt. If you're looking for the type of frozen yogurt where you pay for it based on how much it weighs, don't come here. But if you'd like really good yogurt with a couple simple toppings, and possibly a salad to go with it, definitely give this a try. The only reason I'm probably not coming back is because I don't expect to be in this area very often. read more

We celebrated the last day of soccer here for our kiddos (trophy day...yay), I've held business meetings here, and tonight we met up with some friends we haven't seen in a long time. It's just one of those places that families tend to flock to. Aside from delicious frozen yogurt, they make fruit smoothies, salads, and they have some healthy menu items too. Tonight I ordered up a fruit smoothie: blueberry, raspberry, banana, and apple juice. I can't guarantee that it was made with the most wholesome organic fruit, but it was just enough of a sweet treat to keep me away from ordering up something a little more naughty...$6+ Great customer service, but the line had a tendency to back up every so often when they got busy. Love's is a great place in Highland Park. You definitely get the feel of the town; it's a classic institution in the heart of downtown. The quality of the food-- the froyo, at least-- is great. I love getting the peanut butter-Ghirardelli chocolate swirl, with sliced bananas, or the key lime with graham cracker. And it's reasonably priced-- about $4 for a small size (which is maybe 8 oz or so?) The only thing is, it definitely attracts a big high-school crowd, which means it can get very loud with gossipy teenagers very fast. If there's seating outside, that's the place to be, to escape the din and delve into long conversation with old friends. Otherwise, your visit might be cut somewhat short, as mine was last night, when we couldn't stand the earsplitting chatter (and North Shore accents!) anymore. Also, regarding an older post below: Love's does now serve probiotic frozen yogurt... Love's has some of the best frozen yogurt you'll ever eat. I may be biased because last summer I frequently worked double shifts, so I'd drive over to Love's for a large peanut butter frozen yogurt in between shifts. I would then try to eat my yogurt as quickly as possible before my next shift started. This yogurt is delicious: not too sweet, perfectly creamy, and inexpensive. They also sell sandwiches and salads, but I've never tried those. If they're anything like the yogurt, then they must be good! read more

Gotta keep up the five-star rating! There's a lot to dislike about the boring 'burbs. But I could never hate on Love's...even if it's open 'till 11PM on weekends and that's "late." Love's rotates six flavors each day, two fat-free, two low-fat, and two fat-free and sugar-free. All of the flavors actually taste good and aren't grainy/too fake-tasting. They have a great selection of toppings, from fruit to peanut butter cups (nom nom). Love's allows for excellent people watching - from the older adults sauntering in after a meal to the twelve-year-olds in Juicy tracksuits excited to go out to eat on their own for the first time. Depending on whether or not you're from the area, you really do see everyone...and their mom, as the expression goes. That makes me wonder why they only have 2 reviews! So I have been back here several times since I wrote my first review. Every time since then, I have ordered frozen yogurt. Last week I decided to go to Love's for some fro to because I had a tummy ache and quite honestly nothing else sounded good at the time. Since it is restaurant week, they were offering a special medium fro to for $2.22, so I jumped on it. I got the chocolate peanut butter swirl. Next time, I want to try a smoothie! I wonder if they will substitute the vanilla fro to for the California tart with probiotics. The servers here are super friendly so I am sure it won't be a problem. Why only 4 star then? I am obsessed with frozen yogurt (enough to almost buy a frozen yogurt on ebay for 400 dollars) and I absolutely love loves yogurt! I'm obsessed with fro yo for a variety of reasons, one of them being that it's a low calorie dessert. Love's yogurt has six different flavors, two of them being fat free and sugar free that is only 10 calories per ounce! That is usually what I get every time, but I fatten it up with toppings. There also are two flavors that are fat-free that are 20 calories per ounce and the last two are low-fat that are 25 calories per ounce. Not bad! The only reason I gave them four stars instead of five is because they still don't offer any probiotic frozen yogurt, which is a huge health trend. TIP: They offer punch cards (you usually need to ask for one) and when you buy 12 different orders of frozen yogurt, you get one for free! :) read more

This place has become a complete Ripoff! Went there and asked for a large yogurt. They chose a large cup and filled it about one quarter or less. I said I wanted a large and the rude employee responded that they were selling 9 oz for a large. I said that why the big cup. That is not a large and is basically being dishonest. He didn't care. I should have told him to keep it. This Luv's really sucks. If you want a much better experience and not get ripped off go to the Luv's in Willamette, Winnetka or Glenview. Poor service, rude help and very small portions... not weighed like at other yogurt places.

What you see is what you get. If you like frozen yogurt (the chemically cousin of ice cream, not the frozen version of what you eat with granola) then this is the place for you. Wide variety of flavors and toppings, and they are more than willing to oblige when you ask for a sample of any of the flavors. The food (baked potatoes/salads/sandwiches) is also perfectly serviceable. This place makes my mom nervous cause it does tend to attract a particularly obnoxious contingent of the HP masses, but I suppose that is the price one pays for frozen yogurt. read more

The couple of times I've been there they are very busy due to the new system they are trying to run to keep everyone safe, but customers are very rude. They expect to be served right away. As close to sinless as dessert can get...Love's provides a quick yummy fro-yo fix on hot summer nights (or well, any night for that matter). At any given time, Love's will have about 6 varieties of fro-yo available..two each of sugar-free, fat-free and regular. I usually veer towards the key-lime or strawberry swirl...my fiance' swears by the fat-free Ghiradelli chocolate. Delish--and balances out all of my other yelp exploits quite nicely! Love's is one of the best ice cream/frozen yogurt places in HP. The other review pretty much sums up what they offer. The staff is friendly and recognizes regulars. They have yummy toppings which makes the healthy frozen yogurt not quite as healthy, but I have convinced myself that crushed oreos are a healthy addition to frozen yogurt. It can get pretty crowded and lines can get really long, but it's definitely worth it. A good place to stop in for a little desert after dinner in HP. read more

This is my favorite place to go for a treat after lunch or dinner. My family has probably been here at least 50 times in the last few years and it has never disappointed!
