I have had one experience prior to this, and it was with the Neapolitan style pizza. I was excited to try the New Haven style. The pizza came out extra crispy, which was amazing. The toppings were subpar. I wish the onions were thinly sliced like most places, but this was chopped thick which made the pizza a big soggy with the moisture. The red sauce was good, but not great. It was a little bit too salty. I wish there was a little sweetness to it to make it more like a marinara rather than a plain tomato sauce. The cheese was exceptional and good quality. The only thing I would change would also be pushing the sauce and the cheese more to the crust because the edges were very bready and there could've been more space used on the pizza. Overall, the pizza was thin crispy, which was great and it was good, but it had potential to be better. I would recommend this place but probably would go with just a plain cheese and have to explain next time to push the cheese and sauce out more. I wish they did put more cheese though. read more

Great addition to Highwood!! Perfect spot to come on a weeknight for a tasty, casual dinner. We ordered a caesar salad and spinach artichoke dip to start. The salad was fresh and loaded with parmesan cheese and the dip was creamy and tasty. We went with a margherita pizza and Donna's combo pizza with Italian beef. Both came out piping hot and had a perfect thin crust that kept its structure. Desserts were delicious to end the meal. This GF pizza wasn't just good for gluten free, it was good for any pizza! I would not have been able to tell if I hadn't had my family's orders to compare to! All my fellow gluten free people, find the closest location and enjoy pizza for the first time. The dough is soft, it folds, it has flavor! And for a 12" Donna's combo pizza, it was $17.50. My family had the regular pizza and when they tried the GF crust, they said they couldn't really tell a difference! They have strict GF protocols so allow a little extra time for your order. This was so much fun to come by. I ordered two pizzas and we got ice cream. We did things a little backwards because we ordered pizza at the counter and while we waited we bought ice cream. So dessert came first this time around. lol all of the staff in the restaurant were helpful, they explained the menu, and they let you sample the ice cream before committing to a flavor. The ice cream was creamy and tasty. The pizza was everything! I loved the cheese pizza. The second pizza was a little too charred for my liking, but my husband didn't mind it, he thought it added my flavor to it. This is such a cool find with out side seating. I can see why this place would be so popular in the warm months. I can't wait to go back. read more

Giving 5 stars to not mess up the rating of a new place but here is the honest review. Ordered two large 16" pizzas on Friday at 5:20 and was quoted 10-15 minutes. Ended up waiting 40+ minutes and received one 16" and one 12" because the gluten free pizzas don't come as 16". Manager gave a credit for the 12" mistake and long wait but only after asking. My family said that the plain cheese was not as good as our go-to giant cheese pizza from Whole Foods for $12. I hope they can get it together! read more

Seems nice, but damn is it expensive for what it is. Single scoop in a cup with tax over 6.00. You could get a pint of high end ice-cream at the grocery store for the price of a double scoop (around 8.00 with tax) Pizza looks looks good, but again seems expensive for what it is. Around 14.00 for single person 12" pizza. Maybe it's just me as this price does seem to be in line with Slyce down the street. We had 3 singles scoops (+tax/tip) over 20.00 for ice cream that was honestly nothing special. Wanted to really like it and support local businesses, but IMO honestly it's just not worth the cash these days. Consumers just getting squeezed by everyone. read more

my first pizza delivery since I moved to Highwood. The delivery person was bright and cheerful and thanked me for the tip. However, the pizza was very disappointing. The crust was SOGGY. In all my year of ordering takeout pizza, i have never encountered a soggy crust before. The pizza except for the crust was ok, nothing exceptional.
