Had appointment scheduled 2 weeks in advance, appointment was at 12:30 pm. Checked in and had to pay for visit when I got there. After waiting for 90 minutes (2:00pm) they call my name and I go to the back. After sitting in the chair for 15 minutes they tell me they can't do the treatment and have to reschedule for a month later. I go up front get new appointment date and they say my payment will be refunded by the end of the day and they didnt need to see my card again. This is the worst place on earth. They set up a credit account and immediately charged $2000 for a procedure that was never done. Then they charged us a $463 for a copay that we find out later that was supposed to be $8 from our insurance company and they refuse to refund. They lie on every conversation. State of Texas dental PPO plan pays 100% of your dental cleanings. They added an office co-pay of $10.00. This illegally altered the PPO contract with Delta Dental PPO . My previous Dentist emailed my recent X-rays from my last appointment however they would not accept them. My husband has the same plan they charged him the same. He has bone loss so they added $80 00 plus the $10.00 co-pay and did a regular cleaning. I called Delta dental PPO. The insurance company is having me complete a grievance form to investigate their billing practices. My next call is to the State of Texas Dental Board to file a complaint. You can't just add a fee and call it a co-pay. A co-pay is Co-Insurance you pay according to an insurance plan. They have sign at the front desk that states everyone pays a $10.00 copay. I have VA health care everything except dental, thus four the last three years I've been trying to transition into dentures. first thay gave me a exam and told me to get a higher priced dental plan from my Medicare plus with Cigna and last year for the full amount of the yearly coverage they charged $3.500,00 to take two impressions upper and lower then when this year kicked in they began to discuss removal of my existing teeth and that was a attempt to get more money saying that the only way the insurance payment of again 3,500 would work is if I only had local Novocain and I should be put under. So if I wanted that I would have to pay myself an additional $900 but when I told them I couldn't afford it they said they would lower the price to $280 on a card The removal didn't go well to say the least and two days later I was hospitalized with infection and bone fragments in my gums that cost the VA $28,000,00 and a week after I had an appointment to see how the dentures fit They didn't and the fragments of bone made it impossible to even try. I showed up for the appointment and was told nether the dentist nor the oral surgeon worked there anymore, nothing else. So after complaining about it they had a lab tech try to grind down the dentures and when she came to the conclusion that the bone fragments had to be removed set a appointment two weeks later and I was looked at by someone who I didn't know but I only saw the first surgeon for two minutes the last time waking up and without any explanation he told me I needed a thousand dollars to continue. it gets worse because I disputed the co pay of $269 only to get billed for $15,000 that I had to pay. I'm now waiting for Cigna to act like this is a great option and seeking legal advice on action I need to take. Since all this I've talked to other companies and individuals who all said Lovett is the worse I could have chosen I'm starting to believe this to be gospel. read more

Dentist always blames me for temp crowns falling off. Also blames ME when crowns don't fit. Hygienist blames me for gum disease telling me to brush n water floss hard enough to have my gums bleed AND recede even more. Cannot ever get crowns or caps completed in under SIXTY days. Did not prepare my teeth well enough to receive crowns, hence they have broken TWO sets of final crowns cramming them in. TWO. This is even after dentist decided to combine the 2 crowns into one. Like a bridge-crown. This happened similarly 15 years ago with my front teeth. 3 attempts to get them right. Not happy w them, but they work. It took 9 months tho. Another crown only lasted a few years. It was only a filling before. Then it got infected, then broken, the had to be pulled!!! Most awful place EVER! I SHOULD SUE, BUT IM NOT THAT PERSON. They were to pull one tooth... They cut my lip with the drill and cut a different tooth. The "dentist" broke the tooth next to the one they were pulling and just pulled it too. He asked if he could keep the gold fillings in my teeth. Then they overcharged my insurance. My insurance told me and I have been trying to get that overcharge back for 2 months now. They send your call to an answering machine and try to blow you off. They only answer you in an email that says they don't owe you. This place should be shut down. I hate that this is where we are, but here it goes. Dr. Lykos had been my dentist when I was in high school a million years ago. She is a very nice person. So when I needed to get extractions and dentures due to an autoimmune condition, I automatically went back to Lovett. This was a mistake. I had my extractions done and that was fine. Fast forward to a month and a half later, I still don't have my dentures. The first set didn't fit and the lower partial was missing teeth. Lovett said Toothworks messed up and that the shape of my mouth changed since extractions. Toothworks said that Lovett forgot to mark all of the teeth that were supposed to be extracted and they made it as they received it. A lot of fun "pass the buck" games and nobody taking responsibility and making it right. SO we do impressions for a second set of dentures. I went in to do a final fitting before they got sent to the lab to finish fabrication. Well guess what? They STILL don't fit. They were also lopsided because when they took the impressions (both times) the tech doing them did not make sure there was equal pressure the whole way round. This would also account for the fact that there was space on one side between my gums and the denture on one side. When I tried to close my mouth around the dentures, I looked like I was wearing a mouth guard. They kept trying to tell me they still had the wax and they would be a lot thinner when they were done, so on and so forth. Well at this point I have lost absolutely all confidence in Lovett's ability to get this right. I asked for a refund to go elsewhere. Cool. Then when I ask for a receipt they tell me that refunds have to come from corporate and that they only process refunds twice a month! So they can take our money with no problems, but when it comes down to the fact of them screwing up, it's like pulling teeth (pun intended) to get that money back. This is not a good look, Lovett. Now I will have to wait until the end of the month for that refund before I can even begin to go elsewhere for my dentures. So that will make it 2+ months with no teeth. If you want to come see Dr. Lykos for your general dentistry, I would recommend....but if you are trying to get dentures, do yourself a favor and RUN the other way. read more

Incompetent employees who schedule appointments. I made an online appointment and was called later and told that I couldn't come in then because the dentist didn't take my insurance then a "real person" scheduled another time a few days later with a different dentist. Then 10 minutes before that appointment time ( I was literally sitting the parking lot talking to them on the phone) they tell me that this appointment isn't going to work and that would have to reschedule for 11am. First, I have had no issues with the actual dental service. The dentist and hygienists are helpful, friendly, and seem to do good work. However, on now four occasions, I have shown up at my scheduled appointment time only to be told that I never had an appointment and that we'll have to schedule a different time. This is despite having the written out appointment card they gave me at my previous appointment, having received several text and email reminders from them in the days before the appointment, and having confirmed the appointment through the link in those texts/emails. There is no notification from the office that the appointment has been moved or canceled. I know they have a correct phone number for me because, on one occasion, they did call to tell me the wait at the office would be longer than usual. Additionally, when I call the office, no one ever answers the phone. It doesn't even go on hold. It just rings forever. In short, the business side of this dental office is completely unreliable and will waste your time with no explanation or even an apology. They just don't believe you ever had an appointment despite any evidence to the contrary. Do not go here. read more

DO NOT USE LOVETT DENTAL!!! I had used their services back in 2013-2014. Each time I visited the dental office I paid in cash. Not once did I ever finance anything. Months later I started receiving recurring monthly bills stating that I had a balance of $20-something dollars related to a financing fee. I went to the office and they acknowledged that the charge was erroneous and that the balance would be adjusted to $0. However, I kept receiving these bills saying that I owed money, and the erroneous fee grew from $20-something to $220.20. I once again contacted the office, but this time a woman from the Houston office was down in Corpus doing some type of internal audit, I believe. I explained my situation to her. She was very helpful and sent me an email shortly after we got off the phone saying that she had sent the appropriate paperwork to the corporate off to have the balance adjusted to $0. A few days later she sent me an email that she checked my account and my balance had indeed been adjusted to $0. Wrong. A few months later I once again starting receiving the same recurring bill. I went to their office again and disputed the charge. The woman at the office submitted appropriate paperwork to have the account balance adjusted to $0. I just received a letter today notifying me that my account has been sent to a collections company. l called the collections company and spoke with them. Of course, there is essentially nothing I can do to indemnify myself from these false charges. So, I called Lovett Dental and was unable to get ahold of anyone who could help me with this issue. I was told that the person that can help me was in a meeting. I sent her an email, but I'm skeptical that she, or anyone else at this dubious organization will resolve this issue. read more

I filed a complaint with the TX board of dental examiners. This agency is worthless & only protects their inept dentists. Tammy Lykos has been sued previously for what she did to another patient. Beware, INSURANCE FRAUD GOING ON HERE!!!! I went in for an emergency extraction in 2019. They told me my insurance wasn't going to cover the procedure and I paid over $566 out of pocket. Fast forward to 2020, I called my dental insurance to see what my coverage was and they told me they cover 80% of any emergency procedure. I then asked if they covered my tooth extraction in 2019 and to my surprise, they said YES! They advised me to call and get my money back($306ish). Long story short I've been calling for almost 7 months now and every time I keep getting told they have processed my refund and I should get it in my account in 5-7 business day. I was refunded half the money owed when I threatened to file a complaint with my insurance. I'm Still fighting for over $160 owed to me. I wonder how many people they have scammed. They also billed my insurance for more than my procedure actually cost. Don't waste your time. read more

Was holding off on a bad review to see if they would refund my money. Though some of the office staff and dental assistants were so very sweet, it doesnt compensate for the terrible experience I have had with this clinic. They charged for a procedure that they didnt do and now, a month later they still haven't refunded my money. They stole 600 and we really really need that money. I've called every other day for a month and all they do is say they will make the refund, but never ever do. It took every penny from my care credit card so i am unable to even go elsewhere. The reasons i didnt return for the procedure they charged me for is a whole other story. The procedure they did do was traumatizing. The dentist didnt believe that I wasnt numb yet and just kept going. I was there from 3pm until well after they closed at 7pm for a procedure that should have taken about 30 mins. It was excruciating. And now they've stolen my money leading me to lengthy complaint forms with the TX dental board. Its chaos and its unprofessional. My advice to the sweet staff that currently work there, you're too good for that place, get out of there! For anyone considering using lovett, DONT, RUN, FAR AND FAST! Cheap doesnt equal good. This has been a nightmare. For the staff who keep promising my refund yet refuse to initiate it, may God go before me and be my vengeance. We set an appt for my daughter at a certain date at a certain time, clicked the appt confirmation link via text, and confirmed this certain date and time via phone as well. We drove an hour to get here, as we live out of town, and then were told that it was a different date and time. When we showed up they would not take my daughter in. So they offered me refund and told me to find another dentist to finish the work they started. It was a nightmare dealing with these people. This is THE MOST unprofessional "dentist office" i have ever been too. I chose this place because for 1) I'm not from corpus so I'm unfamiliar of the dental offices and 2) I am a Nursing Student that does not have insurance and they make payments and i was and STILL in major pain. This dentist, i didn't care to catch his name, but he's an older, heavy set, white man with an accent, told me i needed a root canal, ok, no problem i figured i did. I told him i didn't have insurance but i can work out the payment. He had the NERVE to point to my engagement ring and tell me "if i can afford that ring, i can afford insurance"... wow. But whatever i let that slide he doesn't know my circumstances, so i asked if he could at least pack my tooth with medication until the time of my root canal (I'm not a stranger to tooth pain/problems so i know what can be temporarily done) he said no, but offered me morphine. MORPHINE?? Seriously??? He's going to jump STRAIGHT to addicting crap? I'm sure some would be happy with that but as someone training to be in the medical profession that is mind blowing. That man is TRASH, and sorry to say, he smelled. The front office staff were nice. Other than that I'll never return. Ever. I'll yank my teeth out myself. read more

Lovett Dental showed up as a provider on my dental plan. I called office to confirm they took my ins and even filled out the new patient form on line. When I arrived for my appt, they called me in and asked for my payment, so I handed them my credit card. I saw the young lady making out a receipt using a different name. I advised her that wasn't me. She trashed receipt and THEN asked for my name and ins card. After waiting for awhile, I was told they were NOT providers. I am the caregiver to my 94 yr old dad, I had to get a sitter to watch him while I drove in from out of town. The website lists Lovett as a provider, I confirmed verbally that they were providers, and I don't get told they are NOT providers until I arrive. I asked for office managers # bc I thought it was important that they be made aware of what is happening. I called two different days and left her a message, never got a return phone call.......not a good experience!!!! read more

As a new patient I showed up 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork and was still left in the waiting room until 20 minutes past my scheduled appointment time. After an X-ray was taken I was left in a chair for another 40 minutes with nothing to do after having signed a form saying I wouldn't use my phone. The doctor (when he finally showed up) never addressed me directly about what he wanted to do or why, and some of the things I heard him tell the hygienist didn't make it to the list that someone else gave me without explanation at the end. Dr. Lykos and her assistant, Mary Alice are the reason I go there and will continue to do so. I don't have problems getting an appointment and Mary Alice is always efficient and friendly. Both Dr. Lykos and Mary Alice do a great job and I've never had any problems with either of them. Absolutely horrible experience with trying to schedule any type of appointment. Iv make plans with them over four times. The first couple of times I let it go due to Covid-19 but at this point . No communication was established no phone call to tell me my appointment was changed Or canceled .I called one week before to make sure everything was good and I was told it was . The day before my appointment I called again they couldn't find me in the system what I don't understand how can they say they called me and left voice mails with me not being in the "system". The worst part is they are the only Place that takes military insurance besides the base. But I am not going to jump down that rabbit hole . All I can say is do your due diligence seek another practice . I had plans for my whole family to go . I even took days off from work as well as family members for an oral surgery.
