I have been to other locations of the Lovett Dental chain Houston and had good experiences, but this particular (Meyerland) location was very disappointing. During my visit, I was billed for procedures that I did not receive. I had to go through the process of getting those charges reversed with my insurance, which was frustrating and time-consuming. The office manager was also unprofessional when I tried to address the issue, and overall, the experience did not feel transparent or trustworthy. I would not recommend this specific location. Again, I have had much better experiences at other locations (Shephard is a good one) in Houston, so I suggest considering those instead. If I could give zero stars, I would. read more

Not worth the high price for the level of service received. I had a 10:30 a.m. appointment but wasn't seen until 11:44, which was frustrating and inconvenient. When I was called up to the front desk, the first staff member gave me the total for the visit but couldn't explain the charges. A second staff member joined, seemed annoyed, and simply handed me a printout of the treatment plan without offering much explanation. When I asked her to go over it, her response felt dismissive and passive-aggressive. When I brought up wanting to make a small change to the treatment plan, the dentist didn't seem very receptive. It felt like they were more focused on pushing the most expensive option rather than working with me to find a solution that fit my needs and budget. I ended up going through with a deep cleaning, which cost nearly $500. Unfortunately, the experience felt rushed and uncomfortable. The hygienist had to stop twice during the procedure to attend to other patients, which affected the quality of care I received. Overall, I left feeling disappointed. Beware of Upselling and Questionable Practices at Lovett Dental My 19-year-old son has had his teeth cleaned every six months with zero issues. Due to an insurance change, we had to leave our long-time, trusted dentist. Although I had a negative experience with Lovett Dental years ago, we decided to give them another try because the location is convenient. Big mistake. From the moment he walked in, they began pushing unnecessary procedures. Even a basic "irrigation" was an extra $100. They claimed he grinds his teeth and pushed a $500 mouthguard. Most shocking, they said he had multiple cavities--all of which supposedly developed since his last clean checkup just six months ago. They also told him they couldn't proceed with a regular cleaning unless he agreed to additional services. Thankfully, he called me before agreeing to anything. I am appalled that a dental office would prioritize profits over patient care, going so far as to suggest unnecessary drilling. This experience confirmed what I already suspected--nothing has changed at Lovett Dental. If you value honesty and integrity in healthcare, go somewhere else. read more

I am highly disappointed by my experience at this Lovett Dental location. I came in because I had a chipped filling and needed to have my 6 months cleaning. This is the first time going to this location and the dentist Tonia Ehigiator. I had x-rays done and the dentist examined my teeth and stated I needed a deep cleaning. This deep cleaning is very expensive and requires every 3 month follow up cleanings, none of which is covered by my dental insurance. I requested copies of my xray and sent to my cousin who is a dental hygienist in Louisiana. She reviewed the xrays and stated they showed no evidence of buildup under the gums. I called the office and stated, I will have my filling repaired and will decline the deep cleaning and would rather proceed with my q6 month cleaning that's covered by insurance. The office manager Carrie stated they would not be able to do a regular cleaning when a deep cleaning is advised. I stated I understood that is what the dentist advises, but as the patient, I did not want the deep cleaning. I asked her to clarify with Dr Ehigiator if this is a company policy or her professional practice mentality. Received a call back from Carrie who stated the dentist will not allow me to have the regular cleaning and that I could go try another dentist. This was a wholly frustrating experience as it took me calling the Humana HMO plan every day for 7 days to get a dentist assigned, only to have one that is running a racketeering scam! Words to the wise: if you have insurance and in their treatment plan they don't list insurance responsibility, DO NOT PAY AND THINK YOU ARE GETTING A DISCOUNT!! I called Humana Dental HMO and they must pre approve any treatment plan for insurance coverage. If you take this step, the filings for example are covered by the HMO and would not cost my $195 as the "discounted" rate. read more

This place is a total scam. My wife came here for dental work last year and they did several fillings that were fully covered by her insurance. The receptionist confirmed that we didn't not owe any balance, yet we received a bill for $250 in the mail. We called the office multiple times and each time they confirmed that we had a zero balance. We also contacted their corporate office at wecare@lovettdental.com about the issue and never heard back, yet keep receiving the same bill every month with additional charges added. On top of this my wife still feels pain and sensitivity in all the teeth that were filled more than 5 months after the visit. We are now considering legal action. read more

I have been coming to this location for 8 years. In the last 4 years it is a constant revolving door of staff, from the receptionist, managers, hygienists and dentists. They have repeatedly set appointments for me that they could not honor. They send you reminders to confirm your appointment but then when you get there they tell me, "we don't have a hygienist" (2x for me). Then today I go for my appointment and when I arrive they are closed, after 3 text reminders that I confirmed. Nobody cares because they won't be there in a month or so. When they were good, 5 years ago, they were great. Sadly now, they suck. read more

You think cleanings are free with insurance?? They aren't at Lovett Dental! They are now requiring that you get "gingival irrigation" done with ALL cleanings...it is not a choice. They stated it's to clean the germs in your mouth due to covid...but it was the VERY last thing they do during your cleaning. If they were concerned with germs, wouldn't they do it first? They use peridex which is a prescription MOUTHWASH. They require you to pay $49 for literally a teaspoon of mouthwash that is hardly enough to swish around in your mouth. To top it off, they don't even code it correctly with your insurance. It's a scam to get your money. I'll be finding a new dentist. read more

They have always treated me with respect and understanding and done their best to get me appointments as soon as possible. I do think they need to offer gas as a pain relief option though. I told them I was having pain when biting down (on soft food) they didn't inspect or do anything they just said to bite down harder next time. And it STILL HURTS. I don't live in Texas anymore and before I left they told me they give 6 months to accommodate any issues for free but they aren't answering their phones! I try to call them at least every other day and let it ring for a long time and still no answer. They are always overbooked, they rush through any sit in procedures. (6 month Routine exams and Crowns specifically) Get a second opinion if you get told something drastic )they said my husbands tooth would fall off if they cleaned it, so they wanted to do more work on it. This location has gone downhill in the past few months. Every time I have visited, there has either been new people working there or temps from other locations to help out. Either way, the attention to details and interacting with customers is subpar at best. Just walking into the place, you notice that the office feels like a dungeon. There aren't really any nice photos or artwork hung up. The sitting area is dark. I asked the temp office manager why the office was so dark, she informed me (office visit 8/26/19) that the lights have been broken for a while and she had asked them a while back to fix it. Appointments: mine was at 9 am and I still saw workers there arrive at 9:15 and after. Appointment times are a joke. Expect to wait an average of 45 mins to an hour from your original appointment time. Why does it take so long? They are severely understaffed. Once you're called back into the area where they work in patients, you expect it to be full. This is NOT the case. Empty chairs mean they are not generating enough traffic to hire workers to be able to effectively assist their clients. The wait times are worse than the DMV. This seems to be the location where Lovett sends all its bad employees. No one really wants to be there. The dentists who are not performing well somehow end up working on your teeth. If you ever end up at this locations doorstep, pretend you are marketing another business and RUN! love your teeth enough to go to a real dentist and a location that doesn't seem like a prison cell. X-rays: total scam. They try to get you to take them every time you go. Guess it's the only way this location can bill insurance companies in order to make up for not having clients. Social media photos: I would like to know what clients took these because I know the dentist and team don't do that great of a job. Well, circling back on my previous review. After weeks of contacting them to correctly bill my insurance, they finally replied (and only after multiple written complaints) to tell me they'd billed my insurance and they reversed the charges on my card. I thought we were done. Until I got a call from a debt collection agency. Lovett Dental DID charge my insurance finally, leaving some $50 unpaid on the bill. Without calling me, using my credit card information (which I provided when I was seen), or even sending me a bill, they sent it to collections. Just look at the reviews- it's not me. What an awful place! The only bright note was the young man who did my X-rays. He was very pleasant. The dentist was rushed and made me feel like she didn't have a minute to spare for me. AVOID!!!!!!!!! My previous dentist moved further away so for the past couple of years I've been trying out new places every 6 months looking for something permanent. I decided to try out Lovett based on the good reviews. Wait time was longggggggg. (Longer than all those unnecessary "g's" I just wrote.) I had an afternoon appt and waited over an hour and a half for them to ONLY take xrays. They said the first appt is only for xrays because they have to determine a person's oral situation before they can do any work and I would need to take off work and schedule another appt for a cleaning. IF this is their policy, and not just a fib because they were so behind and closing soon, a head's up would have been nice. I've never scheduled an appoint for xray's only. The staff was pretty apologetic though. They did tell me there is usually a decent wait time though. The actual cleaning was fine. I don't knock them for that at all. It was the LIES that drove me away. ************************************** Lovett Dental told me I had 6 cavities that needed to be worked on immediately and it would be hundreds and hundreds of dollars out of pocket after insurance. I found it very odd considering I'm pretty fastidious about oral hygiene, I hadn't had a cavity for many many years, I didn't have any pain.......and only 6 months ago another dentist said everything was great(NO cavities). I told the hygienist I was shocked to have so many cavities when another dentist told me I had 0 just 6 months ago. She immediately got defensive and started an attitude with me. I wasn't trying to imply she was lying, but I was very confused because I really try to be on top of oral hygiene. I decided it was best to get a second opinion. Fast forward 6 months to finding another dentist with great reviews and him telling me that I have ZERO CAVITIES! My daughter went to this location for root canal and crown. I picked the place because it is close to my home but it turned out to be the worst decision for my daughter's dental care. A few issues: 1. Most of the time when I call nobody picks up the phone. They seem to have a staffing issue. 2. The staff seems to be very incompetent. They don't seem to be able to find the records for my daughter when we went for subsequent steps 3. They forgot to call pharmacy for antibiotics after the root canal. We had to call multiple times 4. The member cost share I paid is very different from the member cost share on the Explanation of Benefits form from the insurance company 5. My daughter's temp crown fell off after two weeks. When we tried to make an emergency appointment. The contact center said the patient has to have had an appointment within two weeks of seeing the doc for them to make an urgent appointment. So we had to go to store and bought a kit to fix it ourselves. 6. They didn't call us when the crown arrived (more than 3 weeks after temporary crown was put in place), we had to physically go to the office and asked them in person whether the permanent crown has arrived since they don't pick up the phone and it passed the time they said it would take to make the permanent crown. They confirmed the crown had arrived when we went to the office in person to check so they forgot to call us when they got it. Almost every interaction has been frustrating and it is an ordeal for the whole family. We are glad it is over for now. I can't image why they are still in business with this level of low quality service. I guess there are not enough dental providers around. read more

I came in 10 mins early, sat in the waiting room until 6:30 and then the rep tells me that they can't do what I requested, which was a basic cleaning because they had to be out of the office by 7pm. I would give a negative five if such rating exists ... Today I walked in one minute before 9:00 AM without realizing their business officially starts at 9:00 AM although the door was open. When I told the receptionist lady that I wanted to make appointments for my family, she asked "Why didn't you call?" I was confused instantly by this dumb question, but kept my calm and explained to her that my cleaning appointment was cancelled without notice last December and, thus, I came in person to make sure the appointments would be scheduled properly. (In fact, they performed deep cleaning of my left-side teeth in October and asked me to come back on Dec 28 to finish the right side. However, I came back as told and only found the office was closed . The note on the door said they will close for a week. Nobody informed me, with either email, text or phone call!!) Then, when I asked the lady whether they should have followed up with me since it is them who canceled on me without proper notice, she replied bluntly and proudly : "No, sir, we do not do that." I am in complete tears!! I never write reviews and consider myself so understanding, but I was not treated well by the doctor and staff. Weeks ago I decided to do something for myself and get my teeth fixed that were ruined when I was younger by a disorder. I have a 5 month old and work full time so this was going to be a real treat. I took off work 3 times - the 2nd time I went in I arrived and they didn't check the molds which were wrong so I wasted an entire day. Today I arrived on time at the location I was told to go to, but found out they changed the location without verbalizing it to me. They also changed the time to 15 min earlier through a text message. When I told them I could get in my car to be there at noon when my appt was originally scheduled for and I confirmed it - they told me no that I had to take off more time for work and come in tomorrow! At this point (in tears) I said I couldn't keep taking time off for their mistakes and without any apology from the staff OR doctor I was told that I would need to pay for the molds and they would cancel my procedure ... I'm devastated. I have never been treated so poorly. It's not about the money, it's about the way I was treated. I will say the texts do say my appt was in the heights but I was not told that when I rescheduled at my normal location of Meyerland. If they had called or if they had let me come in when my appt was scheduled none of this would have happened. None of the ladies in the front had no idea what they were doing or just didn't care. they had me fill out a new registration form and some of the questions ask if your pregnant.. which i am so i obviously put that i am. however, the ladies in the front clearly didn't check over the forms or anything because as they finally call me, they're about to do an xray on me and another lady asks me if I'm pregnant, which i tell her yes and she immediately brings me back to the front and tells me i can't have an xray this early in my pregnancy which I understand but why wasn't any of the forms checked before sending me to the back? even the lady asked if i said i was pregnant on the registration forms.... these ladies clearly are neglecting their jobs/ responsibilities to the patients. i'm never coming back again. read more

Around 12:15pm the dentist came to look at my teeth for about 5 min. I was told that I had to come back at 2 pm to get my cleaning because it was their lunch time. They indicated that the doctor had decided that I needed a deep cleaning. This was not true. They then, to cover their lie, told me I was not due for my six month check up. I've gone to this location and every single time, I've had a delay of about 30 minutes per appointment before I am seated. Also, you should be aware that at your first appointment, they squeeze you in whenever they have time--no official appointment time! I waited an hour and a half my first time, and that was on a slow day. Their staff, while friendly, are very disorganized. They try to get me to do X-rays every time I visit, even though I have repeated to them that my insurance only covers one X-ray session per year. They always say, well it's been a year, even if it has only been a couple of months and I have to remind them. Their prices are also very inconsistent even though my insurance has NEVER changed. EXTREMELY RUDE MANAGER After verifying with the insurance (DeltaCare) that Dr Isabella Nguyen was covered and in network by my current plan and the office reportedly verifying it prior to the appointment, it was shocking and frustrating that when we come in for the appointment I was told that my kids weren't covered. I expressed politely that I was frustrated since I had to take off from work and my kids had to be picked up early from school and I wish they'd informed me PRIOR to the appointment. I then called the insurance from the office reception who reported that both the kids were covered. Upon conveying this to the Pediatric Manager Cruz, he became extremely rude and disrespectful saying that's not what they told him, that it didn't even show up for him that he could bill insurance, and it wasn't his "job to educate me about my insurance". When I said I didn't like his attitude, he stood up threateningly telling me I was dismissed from the office and that he would send me to collections. Very ugly character and this was witnessed by several other patients and even the other office staff who did not intervene. Worst experience ever!!! read more

I made an appointment at 12:30 to get my wisdom teeth removed on the 9th. The night before my appointment, they sent me a message at 6pm telling me my appointment was at 11:30. I called as soon as I got the text but they were closed. So I called the next morning, the day of my surgery, letting them know that I couldn't make it at 11:30. My sister was getting out of work to take me, since someone needs to be there for your surgery & drive you back home, & she got out at at 11. They asked that i come as soon as possible, & i said I'd try. I got there at 12:20, on time for my original appointment & they told me I had to reschedule. They told me the doctor was by appointment only, but i literally made an appointment.
