While the doctors themselves may be kind, the consistently rude and condescending behavior from the staff makes this place a frustrating and disappointing experience--especially given the premium prices they charge. My last visit, which was the first appointment of the morning, began with a receptionist who acted visibly annoyed just to be there. That set the tone. The day before, I received a text quoting a $250 charge for the visit. This was confusing because I had already paid $600 for their "membership" during my first appointment--something that's supposed to include two exams, two cleanings, a set of X-rays, and other perks. I called to clarify, and was met with immediate attitude from Britney, who claimed I wasn't listed as a member, even though I had paid $610 previously. She insisted that charge covered just the one-time services I received: an exam, cleaning, and X-rays. That made no sense, as it would mean I paid the same as the membership but received fewer services. When I pushed for clarification, Britney told me the issue was "above her pay grade" and passed it to the office manager. The manager did call me back, but repeated the same thing. Then, thinking I was on hold, I overheard her and Britney laughing about the situation. I clearly heard the manager say, "Well, I'm just going to backdate her membership--it's not like we lose out on anything." Exactly the point I had been making all along. Money Over People - My Experience at Pure Holistic Dental (Dr. Krupa George) My husband scheduled an emergency appointment for me with Dr. Krupa George at Pure Holistic Dental. I've been dealing with a dental infection since 2022, after losing insurance and not being able to afford consistent care. Recently, my face swelled, my cheek was very painful, and I felt significant pressure and headaches from the infection. When we called, we were told the exam would cost xyz. On the day of the appointment, I was informed a cone beam scan was required to actually locate and measure the infection. However, this additional cost (xyz) was not mentioned beforehand, leaving me unprepared financially. Because I couldn't pay for the scan on the spot, I was sent home with antibiotics and a breakdown of the massive cost it would take to pull a tooth. Dr. George spent only a few seconds looking at my tooth, and without the scan, they essentially guessed at my infection site. As a mother of five, I'm not asking for free care--I just wanted transparency and to feel like my health mattered. Instead, I felt dismissed and pressured to pay unexpected fees. Dental infections can be life-threatening if untreated. What upset me most was the lack of compassion or alternatives (such as a payment plan) when I needed urgent care. You will be lied to from the minute you walk in the door! I was advised to have a denture where 2 back teeth were missing, I was told that it would help me eat and chew better. After recieving the denture and I couldn't eat with it in and it kept coming out with the food. I asked Dr. George about it she said, "oh it isn't so you can eat better it's so it looks better!" Disappointing Experience - I Wouldn't Recommend This Office I've had a truly disappointing experience at this dental office. On my first visit, I should have known something was off when I witnessed another patient arguing with the front office staff over their records. Unfortunately, I ignored the red flags, and I ended up spending thousands of dollars at this practice only to be treated poorly. One of my main frustrations occurred when they couldn't verify my insurance at one appointment. I was pulled into a room and had to call my insurance myself, which confirmed I was, in fact, covered. The entire process took an absurd amount of time and effort, and I felt that this should have been something the office handled, not me. As a result, they couldn't even complete the service I had an appointment for because the time had run out. Additionally, the pricing here is ridiculous. I had a tooth extracted (after a root canal) for over $2,000 out-of-pocket, despite knowing that this procedure costs under $1,200 at other Bio dentists who offer alternative treatments like Ozone and PRF. The cost for fillings is equally inflated--$475 per filling, and they always seem to find a way to tell you that all your fillings need replacing. I also felt pressured into unnecessary treatments. They insisted I undergo a $250 Meridian test and claimed that I had issues that required an extensive (and costly) treatment plan. I was also told I needed scaling and an aggressive gingival inflammation cleaning--despite the fact that my gums were perfectly healthy (I had my cousin, a hygienist, check them). It's clear they try to upcharge patients by recommending treatments that aren't needed. Another concern was when they recommended a crown $$$$$$ for a tooth I was not having issues with. Bio dentists typically avoid crowns and focus on saving teeth, as crowns often lead to root canals or extractions--both of which would cost a lot more money, perhaps this is the reasoning . Thankfully, I was able to avoid this unnecessary procedure and save my tooth after consulting my dentist friend.. The office staff are rude and unprofessional. On several occasions, I overheard them gossiping and making fun of patients. It's the kind of place where they talk about you behind your back and make you feel uncomfortable. Thuynhi in particular was not clear as an office manager and handled things unprofessionally when I had questions for the dentist. One one occasion the dentist did reply to a concern I had but sent Thuynhi's response in the chain forward where I could see what she had written about me! I'm giving one star instead of zero because I did encounter a few staff members on the med assistant side who were kind namely Jasmine and Jen . However, the overall experience was frustrating, expensive, and unpleasant. My advice? Find a Bio dentist elsewhere--there are plenty of reputable practices out there where you'll get better care at a more reasonable price. read more

This dental practice is not transparent with new patients. Made appt. to see Dr. George and expected to see her. Her dental credentials were pretty impressive. Showed up for appt. & was told she was on maternity leave. The male asst. was very dismissive, impatient and gave me the worst case scenario of my situation. I chose this "holistic" dental practice to see what alternatives they had to offer instead of extractions. This asst. measured gum pockets, showed the xray and immediately decided on 3 extractions of lower left molars. This process was $900 per tooth. I could not get out of that dental office fast enough. I hesitated to leave this review because I am not an actual patient; however, my daughter asked me to help her find a holistic dentist in the Sugar Land area and I found this establishment online. I feel bad for recommending this business to her because her experience was unpleasant. Part of the admins job in a dental office is to verify insurance and advise the patient of the out of pocket cost to them or at least an estimate prior to the appointment. This office waited until she hit the door on appointment day to inform her that her cost would be around $400 due that day. When she declined the service and cancelled the appointment, they proceeded to charge her credit card for two missed appointment slots at $75.00 each. Apparently this $75.00 fee is for one appointment, and since she was a new patient they had booked two slots. To top it off, the office staff was rude when she let them know she wasn't staying. I think $150.00 is an unreasonable charge, especially if you haven't explained to the patient prior to the appointment that they are out of network and the bill will be high. But then it doesn't take a genius to figure out that would give the patient time to cancel and the dental office wouldn't be able to collect a cancellation fee. Beware before giving them your credit card number. I plan to tell everyone i know where NOT to go if they are looking for a "holistic" dentist. read more

I searched high and low for a holistic approach when seeking a dentist. In 2021, I found Pure Holistic Dental. I brought my then 16 year old son for a general cleaning and I scheduled myself a cleaning. The dentist who worked with my son did an excellent job. I keep forgetting the names of each dentist who have worked there in the past 4 years. I worked with a male dentist who was a bit matured in age - and my son had his molars pulled by a female dentist who said that she truly loves dentistry. The staff treated us both kindly. When I arrived home from that visit, the composite filling the male dentist had adhered to my front tooth felt quite uncomfortable. He and I spoke about it and within days - I was back in, for him to continue to adjust the composite. Days later I still Felt the odd feeling and the dentist said that all Was fine, I reinforced that my mouth felt quite uncomfortable - so another dentist adjusted again. The office is over an hour away. Office is not very friendly at this point. Two years or so pass as a referral was Supplied to an orthodontist in Richmond. 'There my son received braces and I, Invisalign. After my son had his braces removed and I was finished with my Invisalign treatment. I scheduled myself a general cleaning and check up in 2024. I felt that the staff was cordial enough and the hygienist was very knowledgeable and very professional .. very kind , I had follow up questions and they did answer the questions via email sort of in a precursory Fashion- Rushed . At some point, my experience didn't feel personalized any longer.. The staff was quite cold and distant, short and condescending. Back in May 2024 one of their staff members accidentally called my phone and left a nine minute message where she talked at length about *overcharging their patients credits cards -and they were speaking ill of their patients dental health, and how one particular patient needed to be over charged because they have some serious dental health issues and they laughed at this patient.* I couldn't believe what I was hearing, so I immediately brought it to their new office managers attention, the manager pulled the call and admitted that this did indeed take place and that she had spoken to the person in the front .. that it was handled .. I figured that this front office individual was let go, unfortunately, at my next office visit -that same young lady greeted me and I was not too pleased. I figured they had let this receptionist go (once again), She was to check me in and take a payment and I was not comfortable with that in the Least bit, it seems that the office manager or office in general should've known to not have that same person greet me. I've always paid my bills on time. So I have an appointment scheduled for December 3 in about 48 to 72 hours in advance of December 3. I emailed to cancel the appointment to reschedule and today is the day December 1 that they informed me that they sent me a letter of dismissal? I spoke to the office manager today, who ultimately hung up in my face ! I will definitely be filing a formal complaint against this office. They should no longer be in business. They scam their patients. They are extremely unprofessional. I asked the manager what possessed you to dismiss me as a patient. Her response was that she needed to be honest with me, Everybody has a problem with you and I have seen you three times and every time I see you, you look unhappy, I said, are you assuming that I'm unhappy and if so, why not speak to me rather than take such a drastic approach. There was no getting through with rationale with this woman. I tried to reason with her as this came completely out of the blue for me and quite distressing some of my other concerns I am not even listing here. Do not patronize this office. I'm pretty sure they will be shut down by the state board and have to pay a hefty fine. One last thing, when I filled out my initial paperwork, they erroneously recorded that my son and I both are infected with HIV!! I read through my paperwork and found the error, and I called them and brought it to their attention immediately in 2021.They apologized and said that they fixed the error. That is not something that should never be an error. This place is extremely unorganized extremely unprofessional, and to say the least, very unkind people.. again, do not patronize this Business If you value your peace of mind, want to feel safe with your payment information and would like to know that you will be treated with human kindness and dignity.. the state licensing board sill will definitely be hearing from my family and may take legal Action for Discrimination. read more

I went in not knowing what to expect due to the pandemic but I was pleasantly surprised. Not many dentists are open during the pandemic but dr. George and team squeezed me in for a terrible pain I was having with my back tooth. I've never been to a holistic dentist before but this one was amazing. She explained to me that a root canal I had done 5 years ago had become heavily infected and it needed to be removed. I was able to get my tooth out the same day and watched Jurassic Park at the same time! I'll definitely be coming back to get the tooth replaced and will study up on meridian charts while I'm at it. I made an appointment with this practice back in November of '23 using their online service. I received multiple texts and an email confirming my appointment made for December 19th. I received a call and voicemail on December 13th, less than a week out from my appointment, telling me that they "do not have that time or appointment available" for me and they were calling to reschedule. When I called back, they informed me that there was no availability until mid-January. How can a practice treat patients in this manner? There is no excuse to not have gotten with me much sooner to rectify an issue like this, which the receptionist explained is an issue with their booking system. I'm a mother of three small children and I had already gone to great lengths making arrangements to be seen on the 19th. Not to mention the time and effort put in to finding a dental practice that aligned with what I was looking for. Other moms will know what a struggle it can be to even get ourselves IN to an appointment and we put ourselves on the back burner. I've been pregnant or breastfeeding for three years and I NEEDED this. I needed to be seen. Words can't describe how disappointed I am in this practice and in the treatment I received by a very apathetic supportive staff. I truly hope the medical professionals of this office have a talk with their staff and fix this major issue. Meanwhile, I have to go back to the drawing board and find a new practice. If I would have known this practice would do this to me, I would never have booked with them and would have (most likely) already been seen by another practice and gotten the care and cleaning I need. I informed her I did not want any more x-rays and provided them from my previous doctor. She urged that I get a 360 scan to really tell what was going on, so I allowed it. I went in because I had sensitivity in my teeth from some bad fillings another dentist had done. I was wanting the fillings completely removed but Dr. George advised me not to because removing the fillings would take away part of my teeth no matter how careful she was. Instead, she recommended ozone and a bio-identical filling over the holes to be as minimally invasive as possible. (This solved my sensitivity issue) I was so impressed by her acute focus on my specific mouth. She educated me on what her recommendations were and why they were important. Firstly, both Dr. George and her assistant that took care of me, Jenni (I believe?) were great, and felt that the care I received in that regard was good. My issues were more on the administrative end. First off, I initially scheduled a holistic exam, but then immediately cancelled that one and scheduled a regular exam due to the price and time difference (I also had quite a drive). These two exams were on two different days of the week, and on two different weeks I believe, so there should have been no confusion between which appointment I was keeping. When I arrived, the woman at the front desk tried to charge me (up front) for the holistic appointment, which is twice the cost of the regular appointment. I then had to add on a cleaning, as that was not included in the appointment I had scheduled, which was an additional cost (understandable). They ran out of time to conduct the cleaning at the end of the exam, so I scheduled with the dental assistant to come back the next week for the cleaning that I had already paid for but had not received. When I went to check out at the front desk, the same woman I spoke to upon check in refused to allow me to come back for my regular cleaning (which she'd already charged me for), and instead scheduled me for an $1800 cleaning/advanced gum cleaning appointment, which I was not comfortable committing to without discussing with my husband & insurance first. She was extremely pushy and tried to further coerce me into scheduling additional services on top of the $1800 appointment she'd already pushed me into by warning (with a tone) that "if I put it off, my small cavities might get larger and then the cost will be even greater". Side note, it had been about 8 years since I'd seen a dentist due to a horrible experience the last time, and I only had two small cavities this time, so waiting a few more weeks didn't seem all that risky... The one thing about the actual exam that I didn't like was that they take a sample from your mouth/gums and put it under a simple light microscope and then show you the bacteria moving around, as if this is supposed to be scary...obviously there's always bacteria in your mouth and there was no assessment conducted on type of bacteria, so this felt a bit manipulative/scare tactic in my opinion. All in all, it was a bit of a lackluster experience, and unfortunately, I will not be returning after feeling manipulated by the administration side of things. Side note, the scheduling person I've spoken with on the phone is always extremely sweet, helpful, and professional (Kali). I only had issues with the front desk person I dealt with while physically there. read more
