I called this business dozens of times over the past 3 weeks, left numerous voice messages and text messages. All of my messages have been polite and friendly (despite a complete lack of response). My only request was to let me know if they were accepting new clients or not. While this business owner could not spare 30 seconds to send me a short response instead of ignoring all of my calls and messages for the past 3 weeks, they found the time to respond to my Google review with an unprofessional and condescending message within 1 hour of me posting it! The fact Ruthie responded to my review within the hour I posted it, but she couldn't send me a simple text message (or return any of my calls) for THREE WEEKS blows my mind. As a small business owner/operator of numerous service based businesses (including ones in the pet industry post COVID), I fully understand how busy it gets as a solo operator. However, there are things you can do to provide a better experience for your potential clients instead of ignoring dozens of their calls and messages for nearly a month (and then immediately leaving a sassy reply to their review). I see that Ruthie has a habit of posting rude replies to her clients who leave a critical review saying she doesn't care what they have to say. If she is not worried about her reviews online or the lack of customer service she is providing to her potential future customers, then perhaps she should stay off of social media and update her voice message to say she is not accepting new clients - problem solved. read more

I have had Ruthie groom my 2 shepherd/retriever rescues several times. She took the time to get to know them before grooming and checks each time on their overall health and immunizations. She and her husband take great care of our dogs, even texting me during the grooming process, and I trust them completely. After having our groomer for our 14yr old Shih Tzu retire, I had to find someone who would treat our dog with the same loving and caring touch as the previous. It made me nervous cause of our dogs age, and of course the things that come along with age..not being able to see very well, hearing not good, does have skin tags that have come w/ age so I had to be sure the groomer we went with would treat our dog as they were their own and take their time w/ our little man to ensure a safe and caring groom. We took our newly acquired rescue adopted, Rocco, to this groomer. She calmed him and he wasn't frightened. He was a neglected dog and is still a bit fearful of strangers. We were looking for a good, calm and caring atmosphere for his troubled spirit. We found it. We've had him for just one month and now his first grooming. We are surely a customer! I am so happy that I have found Ruthie and Matt and the Loving Touch Mobile Dog Boutique. My dog Nala (12 years old) is a Siberian Husky and I have called other mobile dog groomers that have told me "no way can I groom a husky". So when I called Ruthie she said absolutely and then when she came to the house it was an instant bond with all of us, her husband Matt was wonderful too. They both did an AWESOME job on Nala she came back in the house beautiful and fur free. It is such a comfort knowing that Nala does not have to be put in a cage and held there until I get the call to come and pick her up. Ruthie and Matt came to our home today to groom our Goldendoodle, Seamus. They are very nice people and explained what they would need to do. Seamus had many mats because I had been unable to groom him regularly at home due to some health issues I had for a few months. He needed to be shaved but Ruthie did a great job with his ears, muzzle and tail so he looked cute! I will be calling Loving Touch again in a while to give Seamus a regular Goldendoodle cut. This groomer is always late & after being canceled on twice we found a different groomer. When I texted her this, she sent me a rude text message about a time my power went out & put her behind in her day. Then didn't let me respond and blocked my number. Hate to have to leave a review but when you block my number for simply saying I found a different groomer and then send me a snotty text back, I feel the need to respond. So here is my response to your unprofessional text message: I was your first client the day my power went out and you were over an hour late to my house. If you start your day on time you are less likely to be behind. I have always been understanding when your "water wasn't working", there was "traffic on 80", you were on "vacation", your "pipes froze", or any other excuse for being late or canceling every single appointment. You would never even apologize for being late or canceling. Seems like you just did not want to come to Channahon. Sad because I also recommended new clients to you (whom you were also late for every time) and always tipped her very generously (I gave you $100 the day my power went out). This was my first experience with a groomer and was very impressed with Ruthie's knowledge of her trade. She took excellent care of my dog and didn't have any issues cutting her nails (this is the first dog I've had that I can't do her nails myself). My dog was super calm and relaxed with Ruthie. This is also the first double coated dog I've had and Ruthie recommended a brush and even texted a picture of the brush later so I could pick up the correct one. read more

Ruthie has been grooming my dog since 2012. The reason we initially started looking for a mobile service was because I honestly didn't trust the people at the salons we would have to leave our dogs with. We've had our slightly-overweight-and-incredibly-lazy-but-highly-lovable beagle (aptly named Beagle--so original, I know!) groomed by Ruthie twice now and couldn't be happier with our experiences. Ruthie arrived for both appointments on time and took the time to talk to us about what we wanted and to learn more about our dog and her personality. Beagle hates the car and hates being groomed at the "big chains" so we decided to give this a shot and we are SO happy with the results. Beagle always smells great and comes back into the house (to clarify for those unfamiliar with the mobile grooming process, your dog is groomed right in front of your residence--it's awesome!) calmly and happily--a far cry from the times we've picked her up from the groomers. I feel like Ruthie really listened to what we asked for and has never tried to "up sell" us on anything--what we ask for is what we've received every time. She treats our dog as her own and that means a lot to our Beagle-loving family. It's definitely more expensive than, say, a Petsmart groom job, but you get what you pay for--Beagle's nails are perfectly trimmed each time, she smells great, her coat is a bit thinner = a LOT less shedding--just all around awesome. And Ruthie? She's a complete doll. If you're curious about mobile grooming, she's definitely the one to call. You will not be disappointed with her services or the awesome way in which she takes care of your dog. :) read more

I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome of the grooming experience with Loving Touch Mobile Dog Grooming. I have two shitzus (four and five years old) and they have never looked so great. I was really impressed with Ruthie's care and kindness (not only with my dogs but also with myself). She was willing to spend a little time with me to get know my dogs first before jumping in. I cannot recommend Loving Touch and its owner/groomer, Ruthie, enough. She does a great job on the grooming part, but beyond that, she really cares about the dogs she is grooming. She was very pleasant and thorough, and I appreciate that. My shih-tzu has never looked cuter, nor has my mom's Maltese. I've used loving touch in the past and was very happy. But i have tried to reach her many times to get my current dogs groomed only to be given the brush off,no answer or return calls or the worst was when she told us that "she never has had any clients in east Joliet and does not service this side of Joliet. Really nice..considering she just lives a few miles from here.
