I never actually used them but I took a video of all my blinds in my living room, kitchen, and living room. Based on my video Cheryl gave me a quote for about 1000$. Doing my due diligence I sought a second quote from another company. The first thing he asked me is what brand and how old and told me where to look to find the information. When I told him the brand and model he told me that they were discontinued and were too old to be safely cleaned in his opinion. He turned down work in order to be honest and professional with me. Sept. 22, 2025 I began emailing with Cheryl H. Telling her that I had 6 Roman shades and the sizes. She was prompt in her replies and gave me 3 options: 1. Bring them to their facility in Downers Grove and pick up. 2. They would come to my home and take down and rehang the shades. 3. They would come to my home and clean in place. I chose to bring them to their shop a few days later.On the phone I had told her that several years ago I had these same shades cleaned by them and that I had been happy with the result. They had my shades for about 3 weeks. I picked them up and the next day hung them back up. Four of the six shades didn't hang right. They drooped to one side. When I looked on the back of one shade, I found a string, that pulls the material up and causes the loops, had deliberately been cut off and tied about half way up the shade. So that side of the shade hung down. On 4 of the 6 shades 10 of the rings that the string goes through to create the loops were missing. Again, causing that part of the shade to droop. I called Lovitt the next day and talked to Cheryl H on Thursday. After questioning me as to whether I had brought them in like that, she told me that she would talk to the technician about it and get back to me. She didn't get back to me. I called her back after the weekend. She said that the plastic rings had broken during the cleaning process and the rings dry out with time and this can happen. I understood that but asked why the shades were returned to me without informing me. She told me the tech didn't tell her there was any problem. I told her that they didn't train the tech correctly or that person was trying to hide mistakes. In another Yelp review in the response to another complaint, this was part of Lovitt's reply: "Our company has a specific protocol upon completion of repairs. All our repairs are inspected by our management team for quality control purposes, ensuring that all shades are functioning properly prior to pick-up." Apparently that was not done and Cheryl H. did not do her job. Her remedy for me was to drive back to Downers Grove with the 4 shades and when their repair person comes in they will fix it. She wanted to charge me. I live on the north side of the city and it takes at least an hour to get there. She was not respectful of my time and tried to pass off poor quality assurance and blame me. That is not a good business model. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Lovitt. read more

We had an issue with patio door vertical blinds that were very old. The gentleman that assisted my wife was extremely helpful in helping us fix our problem. He was knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. And while we did get the problem fixed, in the future, when we do need to replace blinds or drapery in our house we will use Lovitt. read more

We had a terrible experience with Lovitt Blinds a few weeks ago. We needed a Roman shade restrung. After it was "fixed" my husband picked it up and brought it home to rehang. As he was hanging it the tiers making up the shade started coming apart. The tiers are connected by long rods the width of the shade. The tiers would not stay in the rods because they were not secured by the proper end pieces. Lovitt apparently lost the original end pieces while they were restringing the shade and they used small end pieces instead that did not prevent the tiers from sliding out of the rods. My husband brought the shade back to Lovitt so they could remedy the problem. He was told, "Sorry, we don't repair shades, we only restring them." So they would't even try to fix the shade they screwed up! And we're out $130. Thanks a lot, Lovitt. read more

First they canceled my appointment 2 days before scheduled date (when they insisted on a day inspite of me telling them otherwise due DNC etc) clearly not listening to customer.. (sign one, that I shouldn't have ignored, in hindsight). Then I decided to take the blinds to them all the way from Hyde Park to downers grove. I called ahead of time to confirm if there would be a technician onsite for a quick evaluation. When I get there the service technician give me a ton of attitude .. including they can't review It right then, the person on phone is not onsite , they have other orders etc. All I needed to find out was -- do my existing clutches work with the blinds in hand, confirm if they would be needing any other service .. so this is review of how much work is needed .. should take 10-15min. Max. AND I had confirmed ahead of time this could be done!! The technician proceeds to tell me that I'll have to drop the blinds there and come back in a couple of days. Again this is after I had called them and confirmed that someone will be present for a quick evaluation. After expressing frustration with this timeline, she said review for each blind will cost $35. To which I agreed and said will be back in 1 hour. When I came back, all she did was unplug the clutch and get the new one in. No testing nothing.. clearly not acceptable and when I asked is that all that costs $35, she got flustered and decided to ' give it to me for free' ..really??!! Website indicates Lovitt is a "full service" drapery and blind company/service. They advertise take down, clean, re-hang existing and deal in new draperies and blinds. Yet when I reached out to them for a rather large project they could not promise take down and re-hang of existing draperies and they further informed me that they do not do new draperies or hardware. Pretty much just a dry cleaner then! They need to revise their website and stop sending out misleading fliers and email! read more

Erik returned and not only installed the blinds, he showed us how to raise and lower the blinds more efficiently and carefully and even adjusted each window blind so that all the windows in our sunroom matched. Another few weeks have gone by and I have no blinds. Advised by owner to misinform Hunter Douglas about warranty on my blinds, I said this was shady (pun fully intended) and the trouble really started. Ended with the owner threatening me physically, refusing to return my blinds, a number of verbal attacks and insults and ending with a challenge that if I want my blinds back to comedown to the shop- he'll be waiting for me because I'm such a tough guy on the phone. We've taken our blinds to Lovitt for cleaning and I won't go anywhere else. Their service is wonderful and they are very nice to work with. I called them recently to ask if they knew where I could go to buy a box that would fit blinds that had to be shipped back to Levolor and they kindly offered to give me a box. Stay away from this place. We had our place painted and the painters got some some paint on our blinds. I called Lovett and they said they could try to get the paint out, the installer came out took my blinds down after a couple weeks he brought them back & while hanging them back up he pointed out that there was a ripe in them and said these were not ripped when he took them down, he called the manager after he got off the phone with the manager he said the manager would call me back and let me know what he would do. I waited several days and called the manager back he told me he was working on the issue, I called 3 more times and he said he was working on The problem. I contacted this company to clean sheer verticals in a home I just moved into. They sent out a person who was so tentative, wasn't sure he could clean this type of sheer vertical. First he said he could clean these on site, then he wasn't sure, then he tried to do it and quit after a few minutes. He called the owner a few times for instruction on what to do. They wanted to charge me $250.00 travel expense (it's usually $125.00) to try and discourage me from having this tech take these down and clean them at their site. This is what this company claims to do. Finally after I refused to pay a $250.00 travel expense the guy tried to clean them and quit after a few minutes. He did easily clean a sheer horizontal blind however. The charge was $150.00 for this debacle. The tech they sent out didn't seem to know what to do or how to do it. Very disappointing experience with this company. A more experienced tech may have done the job in my opinion. I asked him to be careful when cleaning as I have flat paint and it doesn't wipe off easily. He didn't even know what I meant by flat paint????? A glimpse into the knowledge this tech had. read more

Stay Away from this company and Jim. First rule of any business is to be courteous to customers and explain them the cost of services and differentiators. I called James and he quoted me $2/slat for cleaning. I checked and found that you can buy $3/piece new slats and called later that day to check if can do more reasonable numbers. Since, I have few hundred slats to be cleaned for reasonable price and it will come to more than $1200 just for slats plus cost of cleaning draperies and taking their visit fee. James asked my budget which i told him that like $300. He immediately used derogatory words without explaining why he wants like $2/piece. Perhaps they are highest price that I have seen anywhere. I just checked with other services in the area and they were very courteous and were ready to work with me on some reasonable quote. I will definitely recommend them to all the neighbors and friends. Since, everyone is looking to have a cleaning in spring. Jim also called me and leave me a nasty voicemail that he doesn't care about yelp reviews and his customers. Well, Mr. Jim wake up! STILL HORRIBLE My call placed to discuss the final condition of the blinds has never been returned. It's unfortunate that Lovitt's sole attempt at customer service is to try to discredit me. I paid for 7 blinds to be cleaned, 4 were returned with dirt in the seams. Yes, the blinds were dusty, (which is why I hired Lovitt in the first place) but not obviously dirty. Nobody, at any time, ever mentioned that there would be any problems with the cleaning. Lovitt also returned a blind in previous working order that is extremely difficult to close now. I was told repeatedly - at different intervals, for almost a month - that my blinds would be returned in 2-3 days. Every attempt at open and honest communication was initiated by me, and put off with evasions and lies by Lovitt. read more

Lovitt took my blinds to their shop back in November for repairs due to a broken cord. In December, shortly after they were repaired and reinstalled, the blinds began to malfunction. I called Lovitt back, they came out and "untangled the cord" and charged me a service fee of $60.00. The cord completely failed and broke in March and I took the blinds in to talked to the owner. He explained to me that I had "shitty" blinds and the cord failure was not their fault. I asked why they didn't explain to me that my blinds were deficient when they originally took my money and the owner had no answer. He also told me that repairs only had a 30 day guarantee. This was not explained to me at the time of the original repair. I explained that the blinds worked fine for ten years but worked for less than two months after their repair. The owner further explained that the blinds had a design flaw. When I pointed out that the blinds worked fine for ten years he actually told me that "the blinds did not have a design flaw then but they do now." I gave the owner several chances to offer some sort of a solution but he was hostile and made it apparent that he was not going to try to rectify the situation. My blinds probably are not premium grade but if the owner had a better attitude he might have been able to sell me new blinds. Based on how I was treated and the shoddy repair work I would never do business with this company again. read more

I haven't had such a pleasant experience with a company in a long time. I needed my Silhouette Blinds cleaned. I found them on Google and emailed them. Ashley got back to me within 6 hours after I sent the message. She was so nice! She let me know an approximate price and I said let's go ahead. They came to take down the blinds and said they would have them done within 5-7 days. 6 days later I got a call saying they were ready and they would be back to put them up. They arrived when they said they would and when the nice man put them up I was amazed to see that they looked like brand new blinds! I wish I had taken pictures of how they looked before and how they look now. This company has amazing customer service and very nice people working for them.
