Other than initially contacting with the initial inquiry, all went well. Jim contacted me. He came by with samples and suggestions. I have been putting off changing my window treatments for a good 2 years. It was put off for so long because I couldn't decide what I wanted. Jim showed me something that reminded me of Roman shades. The pleats were much smaller than what I had seen in the past. I like the fact that they can be pulled down from the top, halfway all the way. They can be pulled up from the bottom, halfway all the way. Or they can go halfway up, halfway down and meet in the middle. One problem is they show you a small sample to look at . You have to try to figure out if you like the color and style.. Then you look at your window and decide. I think that's pretty typical. Thank goodness that I love what I chose. They came in when I was told that they would. I received multiple calls updating me on your arrival. Once they came in, I had to finish getting the area ready for the shades. The installer came within the allotted time. Micah? was pleasant, quick and helpful. There was no mess when they were installed. I am going to live with them for a while to see how well I like them. If I continue to be happy with them, then I will go ahead and order another one for my front windows. Jim was available should I have any problem in the process. I highly recommend DC. read more

We bought Gerber blinds from Costco for our whole house. Costco outsourced the job to Installations By DC; Costco really should vet the companies they partner with more carefully. DC guessed fabric size fitting incorrectly during the sales process and attempted a fabric swap remedy as a solution to the guessing error - mind you we had the same frantic throughout the entire house. The guesstimate resulted in an installation delay. Come to find out the time I took out of my day to pick a different fabric for this single problem window and to solve their problem was all a hoax. They delivered and installed the original selection but with a completely open and close system than what we ordered and put throughout the rest of the house. Additionally, they broke part of a bracket on one window during installation. Thankfully, they replaced what they broke. Unfortunately, they showed up over an hour late to the installation timeframe they promised and it happened more than once e They made excuses and attempted to justify their mistakes with potential new laws allegedly making their way through Congress - yadda yadda blah blah blah. Interactions with them felt slimy at best. I hate to compare them to used car salesmen or shady car repair shop, but that's the exact vibe these guys give off. If Costco sticks you with this company ask for another cor practice your patience and buckle up for a wild ride. read more

We just moved in to to our beautiful brand new construction home and needed blinds installed on all our windows. We're members at Costco and saw that they had a blinds program so we contacted them and a few weeks later we had our in home consultation. The salesman, Jim, came out with his book of blinds and quickly told us what products were popular and would look the best. The products we chose were his "most popular products" and we were going to love them. Fast forward 5 weeks and we've made it to the install day. We were beyond excited as this would be the final piece to our brand new home. The installer showed up, he seemed high school age, but we figured he must be trained so he began upstairs. It didn't take long for our joy to turn to horror. He got the upstairs treatments installed and man did they look terrible. We had previously had paper temporary blinds and we instantly wished they were back up. These products looked plastic and cheap. Like something you would buy at Walmart not just paid thousands of dollars for. Meanwhile, the installer continued on with the downstairs product. This was a different product and looked much better than the upstairs product. We were back to joy but only for a brief moment. One of the final products the installer put up was the panel blind over our sliding door. This took a good hour as the installer did not seem to know how to do it. Once he thought he figured it out he quickly drilled the holes for the 4 brackets. He then went to clip in the product and quickly realized he did not put the bracket high enough and quickly measured so it would be at the right height. At the point the damage was already done. 8 holes in our brand new drywall wall. Very visible too. He put it up and quickly left as he could tell I was not happy. I contacted customer service and they downplayed it and asked if I had a handyman I knew that could fix. I told them I did not and it was their responsibility to fix it. Fast forward a day and I'm opening the panel slider to let the dog out and boom, the whole thing falls down and hits me in the head. This wasn't something small, this was 7+feet of metal crashing into my skull. I was shook. The one item we liked had now broken and almost killed me. I contacted Costco and they assured me they would make it right. They sent one of the owners, John, to the house with the salesman and a more experienced installer to look at the damages. John downplayed the whole situation and told us the only reason he came out was because Costco made him, not because he actually cared about the terrible job his company had done. They put the product back on the wall but still did not have the correct parts to have the slider working. It's been 3 weeks and it's not fixed with no scheduled install date. I've had to dispute the charge because this is so out of hand. I'm hoping Costco will do better but they keep telling me it's up to the Installer to make it right. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. read more

We used them by purchasing blinds through Graber via Costco. Our representative Penny was one of the most extraordinary service providers I have ever met. For example, her timeliness... We were told we would have to wait for an appointment, but she was able to move it up by almost 2 weeks! She was here for the initial assistance with selecting the right materials for our project. She was here to help us get a custom cornice over our blinds. And she came for the install, too. She checked every detail several times. I felt we were in very good hands and that she really cared about our project, which was not a big one! She responds quickly to phone messages, texts, and emails. And we were kept informed about the progress of our project throughout by other team members. Very highly recommended, and would definitely use them, and especially Penny, again. read more

We ordered several thousand dollars worth of shades... waited THREE MONTHS. One came broken... remote was cracked and motor was dead on the largest one. No help from the installer. We were forced to put the old ones back up... and waited ANOTHER couple of months. These are supposed to be room darkenning... they are so far from the window frame that I can see my neighbor's porchlight shining on my face as I am trying to sleep. Room darkened? Nope. Light pours out the sides. Should have been warned by salesperson. Costco: I recommend that you NOT use this company for installations. Very slow service, blaming supply issues in 2024... When one pays such a high price, one should expect a higher quality product/installation and what I should expect from my purchase. One more thing: the motorized technology is at least a decade old. Most everyone uses rechargeable, usb charged motors. Not Graeber_ old school wall warts.Plus, If motor dies, THE WHOLE SHADE has to be replaced. If powers goes out, the shade is stuck in the position until power is restored. Really? Sorry we got these shades. read more

Months later I am still waiting for the shades. The installer said there was something wrong with the order. I keep calling my installer Julia and she never returns my call. After installing new windows we decided to get new shades. Went through Costco to avoid any problems. BIG mistake. We paid over $4000 for 4 shades. Two were to be room darkening. Six months and 4 install dates later the installer came with 3 shades. The 2 room darkening were not. Now they want to FIX them. Do not want something brand new and expensive FIXED. Once they take the cord rings off to FIX the shades and put them back on there will even bigger holes in the material. DC called and said Costco told them they should fix the shades. Why has Costco not called us. I asked to at least get a refund for the shade that was never made. No refund, no word from Costco on this decision. Poor customer service from both companies. And why would I trust DC again after all of the problems we have encountered. Save yourself a lot of stress and do not use this company! read more

Came across Installation by DC on a run to Costco. I'd been needing to replace a (nearly) floor to ceiling picture window that occupied (nearly) the entire wall in a large bedroom. Ordered through Graber (Costco) and I was really pleased with the service. Until installation. Obviously, the salesperson knew nothing about the product. South facing windows that I had instructed receive black-out treatment, the blinds sit a good two inches in front of the window. Bright light comes in all around. I wish I had my old blinds back. These were VERY expensive, and I called and called, but nothing has been done. I think I will go to Costco next, because they should not be using this vendor. I will have to go somewhere else for light canceling blinds. DO NOT USE! read more

We have worked with Penny and Ken on new shutters for our home on two different occasions. The first order took over 2 months to be installed. Delays were probably Covid related. The second time, our order was much quicker. I do think the process could be stream-lined by just having one appointment to measure and place the order, followed by installation. As it is, the process requires one appointment to order items, another appointment to measure, and then lastly, an installation day. If items could be ordered and measured on the same day, it would be a quicker, more convenient process. Ken is fast and easy to work with. Always arrives ready to work and installs super quick. Penny is knowledgeable about the product and always prompt. They do make a good team. Very pleased with our new shutters! read more

I selected the roller blade for my living room windows with botanical pattern as per Penny, the in-home consultant. They are so beautiful and I am so happy every morning to look at those windows. The bottom-up honeycomb shade for complete sunblock in the master bedroom is another happy product. But the best item I brag to everyone is the pretty cornice they install above my English basement windows. The fabric is vivid red colored botanical design and it brightens my basement studio so lovely! Overall experience was very good but I gave four stars because the motorized system was very expensive compared to other companies. read more

Negative: the ideas may be good but the product coming from their supplier(s) leaves a lot to be desired. Explanation: I ordered four wood blind panels for a screen room. Was very happy with the product & selection. When the blinds arrived two of the panels were perfect. Two were not (incorrectly sewn). Two attempts to replace the incorrect panels failed. Both of the replacements were made in the same incorrect manner. Three attempts to get the order right with no luck. Installations By DC can (and should) do a better job of oversight with their suppliers to ensure better quality. To make matters worse, I entered into a protracted disagreement over the final purchase price. I decided to keep the blinds "as is" but refused to pay 100% of the original price since the product wasn't correct. The matter dragged on for quite some time until finally resolved with input from a third party. I started out with high expectations and wound up with something that's just OK.
