I( thought I had already reviewed this business but I think it didn't save. Anyway needed exhaust work done for inspection on my beater- a 2005 Ford Focus. My regular mechanic was honest with me and said he couldn't find the exhaust parts for under $600 bucks and to look around for parts cheaper. I had heard about Low Cost because everyone is getting their cat converters stolen and I've heard that they were very reasonable. I stopped by when I was in the area in the late afternoon and was given a price that was half of what my parts were going to cost me at my mechanic. They actually said they could do it then- I couldn't and returned a few days later and was in and out within an hour. The installation of the muffler was perfectly okay but failed to replace a rotting pipe going from catalytic converter. He did not discuss it I thought it was an automatic inclusion cuz of it's poor condition. I could have gotten the same price almost anywhere. I was told by another shop earlier this year that my daughter's car needed a whole new exhaust system and they didn't feel comfortable with working on just areas of the exhaust. This was going to cost $3,500 on a car that's only worth about $5,000 so I chose not to do the work. I was nervous when it was time for inspection this month. I have an 05 Nissan Xterra that failed inspection for the muffler having a hole in it. My mechanic wanted $550 for a new muffler, but it was out of my budget considering I also just replaced my brakes. Anyway, I called around and got a quote for $130 for a universal muffler and went with it. Pros: Price was right. Guy doing the work was nice. Service took under and hour. Cons: Nothing major, and does not cost them any stars, but. . They wouldn't make an appointment for me, they are "first come, first serve", luckily they took me right away when I decided to go there. Universal muffler is much louder than factory muffler. Considering a factory muffler would run me like $350 more, I'll deal with it being a bit louder. The guy explained the smaller muffler have less baffling, so it can make them louder. I'm not the type to like the volume, but I don't consider paying the extra money a good value, so I'll take a little more volume. I would recommend this place for anyone who wants "low cost exhaust". Lol their name is on point and they provide a good service. For "high cost exhaust" you can get a quiet muffler and an appointment, but I don't regret going the route I did. read more

After reading reviews, I thought this would be a great place. When I called, they were very polite and took my car right away. They gave a fair (a little high) price and got me out right away. 10 minutes into the drive my car started chugging and a red light went on. I called back and spoke with Steve. I did not tell him what light went on, but he asked me if it was "the little red lightning bolt"? When I told him yes, he told me it had nothing to do with the repair that he made. I explained to him that the car never had any issues with this type of thing before? He told me it was not his fault, and hung up on me. How did he know what was wrong before I even told him? I went to Meineke today because my tailpipe was separated and I just wanted to have a new piece of pipe welded in. Meineke wanted to charge me $150. I went to Low Cost Exhaust for the first time today got the problem fixed for $86. The repair was fast and they did an awesome job. I found my new muffler repair shop! read more
