The rural quaintness hits as soon as you drive up. I sat in a building that opens in beautiful Sundays like today. I enjoyed the southern charm and a red roofed barn as part of the visual ambience. And yes!!! In the rural south, they are open during church hours! Big win for non-church goers. There are games and other entertainment if you're with a group. Per usual I brought a book. I have to admit, I didn't have much expectation of the waffles. They seemed "basic" with bells and whistles for toppings. I wondered if the variety toppings were a distraction from a boring batter recipe. The waffle itself was pretty good. It was denser than my personal preference (a lighter waffle) but very good all together. Definitely worth a visit and I will come again! read more

If you are traveling with young kids this is great place to stop and take a break. They have blocks, games, and numerous ride on tractors to keep the kids occupied and to let them burn off some energy. The waffles are a little pricey but still a worth it treat. The smoothie we ordered tasted fresh but the fruit seemed like maybe it wasn't fully ripe because there wasn't sweetness. This was a fun stop on our way to the beach and the employees were very welcoming and willing to answer any questions we had. They also have clean bathrooms. We ordered the Spicy Chicken Waffle and Kids Waffle Meal. The waffles were very sweet but also tasted stale. Still, after hours of driving, we were hungry and ate anyway. I also ordered a Mocha Latte and the "Let's Be Different" Latte (ginger, turmeric, honey, espresso, milk). Unfortunately, both drinks were overly sweet and bitter at the same time. No distinct flavors, just sugary, burnt-tasting coffee. And this is coming from someone who drinks both herbal teas and black coffee regularly. I went back to the counter to kindly ask if I could exchange the drinks. A different cashier helped me, but with a noticeably rude and defensive attitude. She kept interrupting, told me I wouldn't like any of their other drinks either, and was overall very dismissive. When I asked about a refund (after only 1-2 sips), she refused, then reluctantly agreed to an exchange but made the entire process uncomfortable. I was respectful and calm throughout, but left feeling completely unappreciated and disrespected. I always try to support family-owned businesses, and if the food isn't perfect but I'm treated well, I'm happy to leave a positive review. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. For the price, the food and drinks didn't deliver, and the customer service was even worse. Love, love, love this place. Is it a bit more pricey than Waffle House? Yes, but this is not Waffle House. These gourmet waffles are an experience leaving you wanting more. My mom and I enjoy treating ourselves to Waffee as often as we can. Food is cooked to order so you might have to wait 5-10 minutes, but it's always hot and fresh! The outdoor patio gets a bit chilly in the winter, but the propane heaters make it worthwhile. Temps above 60° is definitely peak weather to enjoy this amazing Micro staple. read more

We first started visiting the Waffee Wagon when the food truck drove around Clayton and my daughter loved it. We were pretty excited to find out that they had opened the Waffee Station and made the drive to Micro to check it out. I love what they have done with the place. They have decent seating options, toys for kids, free water and cups outside. Cute photo ops, music; I think their heads are in the right place. However, I feel as if they are still charging food truck prices and it's hard to justify taking our three kids there to eat very often at all. They charge like $4 for a milk or chocolate milk as well, that's wild! They also provide a small variety of hot sauces that look old, watered down and kinda dirty so that was a nice thought but the execution was off putting. I've gotten the Southwestern both on waffles and on croissant and they are about the same taste wise, obviously with the waffle being much sweeter. Kinda like a McGriddle. That being said, for what you're paying it's just not worth it. You get an egg, a sausage patty, cheese and then Sriracha (which is 0% southwestern by any sense of the word). I can drive down the street five minutes to the Highway 42 cafe and get the same sandwich for almost half the price. Gluten free option would probably be cool because you're basically just stuck with a keto bowl which my mom ended up ordering, she has a gluten allergy. Unfortunately, they added entirely too much cheese to it so it was kind of a blob of melted cheese and little food. Also the wait is way too long. Both times we visited we were the only ones there and it took almost 20 minutes to get our food. It's waffles! You guys are called Waffee Station. These things should be flying out at record speed. I think the concept is great and we had who I believe to be the owner stop by and check on us and he was wonderful. Very nice. I just cannot justify spending so much money on this food. read more

Enjoyed my first visit to Waffee Station for a "Dog Day" event to support the Johnston County Animal Protection League. Love this walk-up cafe with covered outdoor bench seating, a games area, and plenty of room for kids and dogs to run around. Friendly, efficient staff. The Scrambler sandwich (eggs, bacon, cheese & pesto) on a waffle was absolutely delightful! I live nowhere close to this place, but if ever local again would have to come back. The bacon was plentiful, crisp and had a subtle candied sweetness to it. That, coupled with the saltiness of the eggs and cheese piled a soft waffle that had ever so caramelized bits to it was a welcome experience. read more

Sign me up!" Today we were celebrating my Sweetie's success and decided to make Waffee Station our destination (and adventure) and we are SO GLAD WE DID! Where to start? I guess I'll start with the coffee and waffles which were INCREDIBLE! Huge, tasty, FUN! I had the Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich and my beloved had the Burger Waffle and we shared a Nutella Love for dessert! Every bite was deeeelicious! To drink, he had a Vanilla Frappuccino (which he loved) and I had the "Let's Be Different" which is made with hazelnut, honey, turmeric, ginger, and oat milk and is OUT OF THIS WORLD! While we were waiting for our order we played with the games and activities they have in their outdoor dining area. I kicked Paul's butt at tic-tac-toe AND cornhole! The ambiance and atmosphere is very chill - inspiring, beautiful, and fun! That said, I have to say the highlight was the opportunity to meet the owners, Reed & Rachel. Wow! They are the real deal. We arrived and found an unusual restaurant, in the best way. The order was easy and the staff was helpful and made suggestions that saved me money. The coffee was very good and the waffles were exceptional. The outdoor seating was fun with games on the tables. One of the owners came by each tabel to see if we needed anything else. I can't believe this place doesn't have more reviews. I drove 25 minutes just to try this place and it would be worth an hour drive. I plan to go back often, the sandwiches, the dessert waffles and the coffee were all fantastic. Oh and even had a smoothie which was very good. My wife thought it would be a good idea to try the food since we have been in the area for about a year (moving from the DMV). The food was OUTSTANDING! Someone's Grand Mom would be proud! I was pleased to find quality food at a reasonable price. The décor and indoor/outdoor seating were creative and charming. I was looking forward to a somewhat intimate meal with my spouse. However, the volume of hard rock music made conversation difficult. It would be nice if they took a page out of the Starbucks playbook and provided background music in a genre most enjoy.
