Love Lowes food, I wish there was one closer to my house. I ordered a fruit tart and the service was great, the tart itself was delicious! Then I ordered a margherita pizza. I love their food bar right in the store, it makes it a great place to grab lunch to go or eat right in the store. I always feel better when I get food from here instead of fast food. I've been shopping at this Lowes Foods location for 3.5 years. At first, it was great. The meat department is amazing, even though you will get sticker shock at the premium steak prices. Which I've paid thus far. The guys that work back there are friendly and they know their stuff. This is NOT a bad reflection on them and I hate that I have to leave a bad review at all because they are great. Where my complaint comes from is the morning manager and Lowes insistence on not having a single employee at the front in the morning. I grocery shop around 8-9am. In the past, they have (had?) at least one cashier that will ring people up. I went in a few days ago at 8:30 and had a cart full of groceries. Zero cashiers at the front. Zero employees at all I had to ring up the entire thing using the scan machines. Ok, I'm able-bodied enough so it's not a huge deal so I do it. It's annoying trying to balance ALL my groceries on the weight scale after they're scanned so it doesn't think I'm stealing but whatever, I get by. But then, I had to look up produce. Not one, but TWO items I had in produce were not found in their system. So I have to make a best guess on that. Again, it's annoying but not a huge deal. But the worst is twofold: An elderly lady came up with a cart full of groceries just as I was about to leave. She had to scan each item and bag it herself. I offered to help and she accepted. If you've ever had to go through self-checkout with more than a few items you know that it can be a challenge to keep all your items on the scale by the time you're done scanning so it doesn't think you're stealing something. To task an 80+ year old senior citizen with this because of your management is too inept to schedule a cashier/bag boy is appalling to me. Not a single cashier or manager was ever seen during both of our entire transactions. I walked both my cart and hers out and put her groceries in her car for her. I don't mind helping others, but she had just spent over $150 in groceries and I shudder to think that if I hadn't been there, she'd have had to do all that herself. On top of that, the morning manager is just flat out rude when she is in there. Like you're annoying her even just passing and saying hello (which is the only interaction I've had with her...literally just saying "good morning" while I shop only to get a stern look of annoyance). Annoyances I can get past. But if you're too cheap/understaffed/self unaware that you can't post a single cashier and/or bagging associate to help out your elderly customers so they don't have to become de facto employees of your store, then I'm taking my weekly shopping elsewhere to Publix and I'm urging others to do the same. This wasn't a one-off incident. This is just the straw that broke the camel's back enough to leave a review. read more

I love me some Lowes, and the 24hr service!! Its a Foodie experience.... Sometimes I just wander around tasting and looking for new things to try. I took my parents when they visited from Georgia, they enjoyed all the choices, relaxed and atmosphere. Lots of fresh veggies, bakery, hot- cold food, fresh breads, salad- soup bar, bar area with live music on the weekends, and a gas station! They have everything and more that one would need.. Some things are a little more pricier than your traditional grocery stores, but I dont mind due all the specialties and personal service. All the employees are helpful and seem to really enjoy working for Lowes, thats a plus in itself! The place is very clean, fresh & and is nicely displayed. It's 4 o'clock in the morning of the day of the Total Eclipse in South Carolina. I needed a restroom break and I saw that Lowes Food was open 24/7. Walking in, this store had the Safeway / Whole Foods layout and atmosphere; lots of food options and mini shops around the inside perimeter of the store. It was a ghost town as I walked aisle to aisle but then again, it was 4AM in the morning. Arriving at our destination, the bathroom was spot on clean and super well kept. There was also a Yelp promotion going on for FOUR free cake squares; they had red velvet! The cakes were super super sweet which satisfies my sweet teeth and morning cravings. Since I moved to my house in Lexington, SC, Lowes Foods becomes my favorite grocery store. Fresh foods, very well organized, great wine collection, superb cheese and snacks area, delis, bakery and fresh salad bar. I cannot express enough how much I enjoyed shopping in this store. So much to see and pick from, even outdoor gardening items and decor! I have never been so impressed with customer service as I was in Lowe's. Every single person was above helpful and kind. So many to thank for such an awesome experience - Shaq in the deli meat dept. was one of the sweetest young guys I've ever met, the young man in the deli (bought their amazing stuffed baked potatoes, which I can't wait to have again!), the very friendly tall dark haired young man at the register, and lastly the cheerful young fellow that bagged my items. I have an unreasonable love of grocery stores, and this one takes the cake for our local groceries. I love their extended hours, and it's clean, well-lit, convenient, and the whole experience is pleasant. The employees have always been super helpful, and they have the best in-house made sausages. As a Louisianian expatriate I miss good sausage. I'm impressed by their selections and quality and the availability of spices I'd previously been buying online because I couldn't find it locally. Also, can we talk about their amazing produce section? I know it's kind of silly, but with my busy schedule, I love they'll slice dice chop and quarter whatever I need, and have absolutely gorgeous veggies. 10/10 go visit. Go visit hungry, even. Sorry, I wanted so to love Lowe's. Their 'fresh, wild-caught' shrimp is terrible. Didn't taste nor even smell like fresh shrimp. Their flavor was more like the shrimp that come all arranged and packed in China. Their $7.55/lb. cranberry chicken salad has been given three tries. It's out. Dry and tasteless. Worth the trip, now we shop there every week. As far as grocery stores go, this would be like BiLo met Fresh Market. The store brands are quality products for the price. The upscale items, butcher shop, sausage factory and cheese shop make shopping an experience. The overall atmosphere is pleasant, the same can be said for the staff. This is the third Lowe's Foods we have been to, but the first where we were really shopping. The first Lowe's was on vacation for breakfast foods and we were not overly picky. The second Lowe's was during a power outage at home and we were killing time. This Lowe's was for our regular weekly shopping today and for some last minute beer shopping for the Carolina-Florida game yesterday. First, let me say that it does have a some appealing features. The sausage center is cool and baked potato salad in the deli is awesome. I do like the emphasis on regional food as a means of reducing our carbon footprint. Finally, we did not notice a significant difference in prices. Second, let me address Lowe's as a mashup Publix and Whole Foods. This is a gussied up Publix. This is nothing like Whole Foods, especially a larger Whole Foods. The store has your basic products. Buying organic is rather tough here. It can be done, but you will not find the variety of Whole Foods. I'd also make the claim that Publix has a larger organic selection throughout the store than Lowe's. Third, an upside is that Lowe's does have a decent selection of craft beers. But let me dig into this... To begin with, the mix six options are rather basic, but I was still able to scrounge up enough make a six pack. Next, the growler station (Beer Den) appears not to open in the morning. I went in yesterday to get some growers filled for the Carolina-Florida game and was told that it would not open until noon (ie kick off). What!? I was told the lines were being cleaned. So I hightailed it to Green's on Piney Grove to fill growlers for those of us watching the game. Then tried to fill a growler this morning while doing some weekly shopping. Guess what? Closed again. What a shame. I guess craft beer lovers are not allowed to shop here in the morning. Point is, I was here twice within 24 hours. I found it to be a fancy Publix, not a Whole Foods by any means, slim on organic food, and stingy on the craft beer. I'll come back on the rare occasion, but will not go out of my way. read more

It's more expensive than my usual Aldi but it's an enjoyable shopping experience. Well I found myself in Columbia as I evacuated from Hurricane Florence, and still found myself in the path. So I heard about Lowes when I was looking for a grocery store to prepare. I have to say this store is pretty great. There is so much variety in all departments, and there are many special things you don't see in many other stores. I think the prices are pretty average compared to chain grocery stores, and I have to say the prepared food if you want some lunch there is good too. All the staff I came across were real polite and friendly, so Im very glad I heard about Lowes. read more

Finally a grocery store that has great tasting cake! Made fresh onsite with icing that actually taste like buttercream icing not the cool whip tasting frosting you find at most grocery stores. Just wanted to update. The Sammy station has been much much better. The service has been great. My issue now has been the sushi. They never have the Philadelphia roll anymore. The last 4 times I went there were none. One time they made it for me, the other two times the lady was on break and another she had went home and it was only 4pm. Went there on a Thursday around noon. Very few customers a reasonable amount of employees stocking and working. I find the store poorly organized. Prices are high on some items and reasonable on others. I had great service at the deli counter. The rest of the staff just didn't give a rats backside about customers. I had to ask 2 groups to move to allow me to pass down the aisles, not one request but 2 for each group. I asked one employee where a product was, she simply pointed and said somewhere in one of those 2 aisles. When checking out I tried to get the attention of a manager, he saw my guesture and seemed to acknowledge me but 30 seconds later walked away. The need customer service training from Publix or Chick-fil-A. Overall good selection, reasonable prices, poor layout and Bad Service. read more

How am I just discovering Lowes? It's right by my work so I decided to pop in after a coworker told me how delicious their coffee is. She was indeed correct. Let me first start by saying this is the cutest grocery store I have ever seen. I love how each area of the store looks like a separate little shop. It feels like you are in a city farmers market going from market stand to market stand. The store itself is clean and very well kept. When I went to the coffee and beer shop area (which they call the beer den) the employee greeted me and was friendly. I got a small hot chai latte and it was fantastic. Price was reasonable at $3.22 after tax I believe. After I got my coffee I strolled around the grocery store. I checked out the dog food aisle because most standard grocery stores don't have good grain free dog food options. Lowes actually had some good options and it wasn't crazy expensive. I also jerked out the ice cream aisle because I'm a huge fan. Lowes has their own brand and they have gelato as well as ice cream. I didn't buy any because I was headed to work but I plan to. It looked tasty! All in all, I really enjoyed my time spent here. How many people can say they ENJOYED going to the grocery store? Not many, so thanks Lowes! read more

This is a very nice, upscale grocery store with tons of unique and local food items to peruse through. Their meat department will make you salivate walking through it and they have an extensive selection of wines, beers, and cheese. If you come by on Saturday morning or early afternoon, there are numerous local companies with samples of their products to taste tear and enjoy. The store is clean and staff friendly. I would rather go to the most ghetto Piggly Wiggly known to man and get shot at while I shop, than to ever set foot inside this store again. Product placement makes no sense whatsoever. Your crappy overpriced food is all over the place, with no rhyme or reason. And even your idiot employees have no idea where anything is (believe me, I asked four employees to help me find half of my list and they had no clue).
