Beware of the seafood counter of this Lowes location. I purchased shrimp that it was rotten. When I returned it to the Lowes location the manager said that she has purchased fish on two separate occasions that was already spoiled and the staff needed to maintain the meat and seafood counter temperatures better. Basically this is an ongoing problem with their storage and handling units. Alamance County should be involved. It's unfortunate because there isn't a grocery store in Mebane with a seafood counter other than Lowes. Mebane needs more grocery options immediately. read more

Wonderful grocery store with a large selection of healthy foods. Would be nice if the establishment added a rack for bicycle commuters. Mebane is becoming such a bike accessible city and I hope to have a convenient way of parking my bike rather than locking to a tree :) read more

I went into this Lowes around the last week of December I believe it was on the 27th but wanted to write this review as it ticked me off/stuck with me once I left. ( I even signed up to Yelp just to get this information across). I wanted to get a cake for my brother's birthday on the day of but noticed that several of the cakes were not only freezer burned but most if not all expired. Not even a few weeks or days which in that case I would have understood but MONTHS. One I recall was from October another from November, I informed one of the bakers or employees that was working at the time but the person working couldn't have cared less. No eye contact, just an excuse and no attempt to even check the other cakes out the front as I had only given him ONE out of the many. Didn't attempt to check if they had fresher ones, just dismissed it and went into the back. I was a little annoyed but continued my shopping, and upon check out brought it to the attention of the cashier, who pretty much followed suit as the other employee, couldn't have cared less, didn't say anything, no attempt to reassure me that those we be taken care of, just stared blankly and wanted the interaction to be over. So in short, I'll be just going to the bakery across the street from now on as they care about their customers. I'm just hopeful that no one in the Mebane area unwillingly bought some expired food and got sick due to this negligence around this time. read more

On tour, and was lost... until this place. I'm in the area for work for an extended period of time, which translates into the need for finding a solid source for supplies. Lowe's in Mebane was sent from the heavens, after the first couple nights of going to the Food Lion. I was led to believe that the Food Lion was the only supermarket in the area, which was obviously a farce. Lowe's is like an island of gold in the sea of crap restaurants and grocery stores. I've been to other Lowe's Foods locations in North Carolina, and they are "just OK" compared to this location. This location is amazing, with smiling faces, clean aisles, and very friendly customer service. Our group traveling together has agreed that this place will be our source for supplies and food from here-on-out. One by one, we've been taking other people there, and the look on their faces is priceless. As mentioned, this place is amazing. The management should be commended for how they train and treat their employees, because each one seems genuinely happy to be working there. read more

The customer service over the phone sucks. This location tests the fire alarm throughout the whole building with customers there. They have elderly customers who are experiencing health issues from heart issues to blood pressure issues to hearing loss as it is. I tried to contact corporate about this situation and was fussed at and hung up on. Usually this location is super fun and provides new experiences, but this was absolutely unacceptable. Atrocious behavior on the company's part. Doesn't care about their customers well-being, especially in a senior community. I see why most customers walked out. Will not return. If you call them and reach cranky Miss Jennifer, just hang up and try again. Reply to Lowes reply: I did call... I was hung up on by Jennifer..... I would love to be able to return eventually. I usually love this location. Fresh produce and a great aesthetic. But (I work in customer service too) the way my concerns were dealt with made the whole thing even more stressful for us. I would rather not deal with the "customer service" people again. They were belittling and downright.... Rude... about the whole thing. All she replied with was them asking for my personal information and saying they can't do anything about it because of "testing regulations" which seems like a load of lies. (At my place of employment at least, we are allowed to test the alarms outside of business hours when we won't disturb our guests.) If I wasn't fed a bunch of lies (aggressively I might add) and then hung up on, I'd be willing to call again. With that happening though, it only made the whole experience more traumatizing. I appreciate the reply but the solution I've already tried, and unfortunately, I got one of the employees at your company who seemed to not care. (I understand sometimes company's can't help when their employees are having a bad day, but you'd think in customer service they'd be a little more willing to listen to client feedback...) I mean I'll be honest you guys had several angry and shaken customers waiting outside in their cars to finish their grocery shopping. One little boy was in tears. One older lady dropped her bags and had to cover her ears. Poor thing looked like she was going to fall over from shock. You'd think the CS reps would listen to something as important as that. I would love to bring my business back to this establishment, but I don't believe I'm the only one who encountered the lack of customer care today. If you wish to contact me privately please do. There's nothing wrong with the food at Lowe's. The problem is with the corporate attitude. Although I really blame the corporate culture behind all large companies, the manager at this Lowe's (and notably several others) is openly hostile to any suggestion that 1) the overall company mentality is adversarial to customers, and 2) retail stores should stop changing the locations of items in order to keep customers lost and looking at thousands of items they don't need. The manager at this store was called over to ridicule me for suggesting these ideas, saying that he had never received any such complaints and that my notions were somehow freakish and out-of-place. I charge my clients a significant dollar-per-hour rate for my services. So if a store wastes 20 minutes of my time on a deliberate campaign to keep me lost, they have actually stolen money from me in doing so. I make this clear to the managers of stores frequently, and in letters and on-site visits to the head offices of some of these corporations. I'm often met with the claim that they've never heard of anything so paranoid and far-out. Some of this blame rests with uninformed customers who allow this kind of treatment by large companies. But they rarely train their managers to loudly and openly ridicule customers. That only serves, of course, to strengthen my claims. It ensures that other customers hear and consider these ideas. I have burned my loyalty card, and will not go into a Lowe's Foods store for water if my clothes are on fire. read more

Just shopped at Lowe's Foods for a rotisserie chicken which the deli had a sign up stating $9.99 but $8.99 with card. When I paid and checked my receipt I was charged $9.99 so I brought that to the attention of the associate at the self- check who in turn had to notify the guest services lady who was very snappy with the associate. Then when she was helping me, she had a nasty attitude with me and the deli department. I felt like I had done something wrong and do not want to shop there anymore. read more

We called a week in advance and ordered a keg for this weekend which was supposed to be ready for pick up today this Friday. When I called to see if it was ready I was told it wouldn't be ready for pick up until the Monday after the weekend. The woman I spoke to was very rude/dismissive and admitted that no one at Lowe's had made the order in time with the distributor which was why it wouldn't be ready but claimed it wasn't their fault because no one had told them it was needed by this weekend. Luckily we were able to call around and Total Wine & More had exactly what we ordered in stock and they have saved our weekend. Very disappointed with Lowe's customer service, blaming us for their failure to place the order with the distributor to get the keg in time with a week advance notice. read more

They have a wide array of locally sourced items, prices always seem responsible and on par with other sales in the area. All the bakery items I've purchased have been amazing. It is disappointing that they only have boars head in the deli, which is rather over priced and limits the selection drastically. I like coming here to buy my gorceries BUT they sell disgusting fried chicken at the food bar. I got a combo meal of two drumsticks, country fries, cornbread and their broccoli cheese. Everything was just gross. I am sorry and I don't like to talk about food like that but there is no other way to discribe it. The fries tasted absolutely nasty, the chicken had no flavor and was super dry. And the broccoli and cheese had some weird after taste. Three stars for the store overall. If it's just the grocery store it would be 5 stars read more

I love their bakery otherwise they are overpriced. They are not Harris Teeter or Publix. I wish Mebane would get either.

They have a beautiful store and very fresh food! I get my food picked out for me by personal shoppers and they do a good job! Also the food at Sammy's is super good and fresh! read more

This grocery store has good produce, even organic. I shopped here because I didn't want to go to Walmart (the only other close store to where I was staying). What I really like about shopping here is they have a variety of quality food. I found fresh pizza dough, good bread, nice fat donuts, and fresh produce. They have fair prices and good clearance areas throughout the store. Shop here if you want variety. read more

Have to downgrade my two stars to one. This Lowe's struggles to provide fresh produce continue. I broke my personal rule about shopping here and bought two bunches of asparagus. It was tricky finding good ones since Lowe's inexplicably doesn't stock their asparagus in ice or even any sort of refrigerated area. Most of them look wrinkled and disgusting, but I managed to find two that looked acceptable. No more than two days later the asparagus was turning into a disgusting goop. I don't know why this store struggles so hard to provide fresh produce when it's surrounded by local and regional farms. read more

Get my produce here usually every week. Prices on produce is comparable to Walmart and its more fresh, better organic selection as well. They have milk from a local farm in Hillsborough that we like too so thats another added bonus. Service is usually good there are a few workers who dont look thrilled and are a little short with you and one guy who is really awkward and irritating but other than that they are nice, bag the groceries for you and even help elderly people load them in their cars. read more

I love shopping at Lowes Food! The people that work there are super friendly. The manager is very nice and has helped me out to my car before since I had my young daughters with me. They have a nice selection of deli meats/cheeses, meats and local produce. They have good sales and a great program with Wilco gas where you earn $$ off gas! I always get coupons at checkout that I can actually use the next time I shop. Once in a while I will go to Walmart to get bulk items, but Lowes is the place to go for good food and variety! read more
