I love going to this cute little market. The atmosphere is charming, the staff is friendly, and it's one of those local places you genuinely want to support. That's why it's disappointing to see the prices continue to climb while portions seem to stay the same. My most recent order was 2 pieces of cod, a small side of cole slaw, and 4 steak fries for $15.99 before tax and tip. By the time everything was added, it felt hard to justify the value for what was actually served. I understand food costs are up everywhere, but for a simple meal, the price-to-portion ratio just didn't feel worth it this time. I'll probably still stop in occasionally because I like the market itself, but I do wish they would either adjust portions or reconsider pricing so it feels a little more balanced for regular customers. read more

We had the pork chop sandwich and the Peruvian Saltado special. We split them together and both were great, but I loved all the flavor of the Peruvian dish. Fantastic breakfast like Grandma would make! Very welcoming, casual indoor and outdoor seating. Its a bit noisy inside, so pick outdoor seating if you want quiet environment (weather permitting). They provide counter order service with self seating. They call your order when ready. If you have an outside table, then you might need to hangout inside until your food is ready. I am a COFFEE snob and can attest that they have good coffee! They use Carrboro beans which is a local roaster. Coffee is self serve / refill in proper thick ceramic coffee mug. I ordered the BACON QUICHE. It was a proper creamy quiche like Grandma would make that is light and fluffy. Really good! I opted for a side of a fresh BLUEBERRY SCONE. It was good. I like drier scones. This was delicious but had more of a blueberry muffin texture. I will definitely come back if in the area again! read more

Pretty cute little place- but man it's BUSY on a Saturday. They have a small market area, then a small seating area and outdoor seating. The servers (more like counter ladies) were nice and the food came out timely even with the crowd. I'd say the food was pretty good. Loved the grilled chicken sandwich! The potato fries were way too thick and had like 0 seasoning so wasn't a fan of those. As someone who has shellfish allergies- I couldn't order anything from the cold case with open shrimp which is a bit unfortunate BUT they do have a sign stating those more likely allergens which is appreciated and honestly necessary. The soda fountain had multiple out of order spaces but maybe that happened recently and they're waiting on service. Hopefully fixed soon. They have their own parking but again it filled up fast. Loved the inclusion art small businesses and artists here! The case of desserts all looked so good. Just a note- prices on their menu at the front have increased from the larger menu board: the grilled chicken sandwich is definitely not 9.50 anymore and is $11. read more

This is a hidden gem for those of us who live in Hillsborough. We had passed it several times and decided to give them a try for breakfast today. We both got omelets. I stuck with the veggie option. Hubby got bacon on the side ($2 for 2 pieces of bacon). Omelet was good and the toast was wonderful !!! We got some strawberry jam to go with it and I would say that bread was the star of the plate. Serve yourself on the coffee. It was a delicious brew. And then we spotted the dessert case ..............went for the chocolate peanut butter cheesecake to have "later". OH MY !!!!! Super unique cafe. I come here for the coffee and scones but they serve all sorts of food including lunch and dinners. The coffee and scones though keep me coming back. Friendly staff and they get you in and out quickly. There's other items for sale as well from nuts and James to jewelry and artsy things. It's almost like a mom & pop's cracker barrel but so so much better. Will have to try it for dinner sometime. read more

Yummy!! We stopped here after being out hiking the woods in the morning; it was honestly the closest thing and we went with the intention to just have a quick bite and go. Instead we were pleasantly surprised by the "neighborhood feel", great tasting food, and nice little patio. The staff was friendly; we had a nice lunch! We have been meaning to try this place for a while, and finally got out for dinner recently. Cute place with a nice mix of retail and restaurant service. Outdoor seating space was nice considering it is close to the road. Place was busy for a Tuesday night and parking was tight. Very friendly and helpful staff. I was in the mood for a burger, and they grilled it to perfection. My wife had the grain bowl, and she thought it perfect. Yes, it's a busy lunch spot, esp on a beautiful day! I had a cup of the butternut squash soup topped with homemade croutons, which was delicious! It came in the bowl, but just halfway cos it I ordered the cup portion. Now that I know how good it is and how big the bowl portion would have been I'm getting that next time. The soup was also one of the daily specials. I wanted to add the bacon quiche, but it was already sold out so got a grilled cheese which is good too. The real gem of New Hope Market is their desserts! There is nothing like meeting a friend for a cup of coffee and an old favorite or something new! My personal fav is the pumpkin pie, but the salted caramel cheesecake may have won me over. The staff is always genuinely friendly and, when you sit down, you feel like a local (whether you are ore not). The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because I don't particularly care for the seasonings used on many of their menu items, but that is just a matter of personal preference. read more

I don't get out this way, but I have a new chiropractor in Chapel Hill and go right by there. We just got back in town and had no food, so I stopped in to see what they had. They carry beer, wine, local meats, cheeses, eggs, fruits and veggies, crafts, jams, sauces, and some normal grocery type items. They have a nice menu of food and desserts to die for. Rhe decor has a modern yet rustic or old timey feel with mixed items. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I got the Korean burger with potato salad for me and slaw for the hubbie. Potato salad is made with red potatoes and is creamy. Rhe slaw has tri-color hot peppers and is vinegar based - yum. The burgers were cooked nicely and the Korean flaors set it off. Rhe chicken salad was chunky and creamy - very good. The lemon pie is not yellow (lemon juice is not really yellow), so I had to read the label. Oh my! Best lemon pie! So tart and sweet. Rhe apple pie had the best crust and crumble topping! The Mac and cheese was very cheesy and the bread crumb topping set it off. The meat quiche was also good, but a little fluffier than I expected. I like it a little more dense, but still very good. Great indoor and outdoor seating. You should check it out. read more

Well the food for lunch was very tasty. 30$ for a burger and pork sandwich. Desserts looked great and was considering it. Was even thinking about coming back in a few days for a repeat. My Freind with me who cannot eat any seeds was about to take a bite when I grabbed their sandwich away from them. It was epically loaded with seeds in the topping. Have the owner of the establishment come up and introduce his self as the owner tell you to "move your f***ing car". Following it up by calling you a b**** for asking how is parking in between two vehicles on the back row is a problem.
