This place is fantastic!! Off the beaten path. We were on our way to RDU looking for a nice place to eat and kill some time. It was FABULOUS and the staff was incredibly helpful, upbeat and kind. We had the pork chop sandwich and the Peruvian Saltado special. We split them together and both were great, but I loved all the flavor of the Peruvian dish. Don't even think twice, GO HERE!!!

Fantastic breakfast like Grandma would make! Very welcoming, casual indoor and outdoor seating. Its a bit noisy inside, so pick outdoor seating if you want quiet environment (weather permitting). They provide counter order service with self seating. They call your order when ready. If you have an outside table, then you might need to hangout inside until your food is ready. I am a COFFEE snob and can attest that they have good coffee! They use Carrboro beans which is a local roaster. Coffee is self serve / refill in proper thick ceramic coffee mug. I ordered the BACON QUICHE. It was a proper creamy quiche like Grandma would make that is light and fluffy. Really good! I opted for a side of a fresh BLUEBERRY SCONE. It was good. I like drier scones. This was delicious but had more of a blueberry muffin texture. I will definitely come back if in the area again!

Pretty cute little place- but man it's BUSY on a Saturday. They have a small market area, then a small seating area and outdoor seating. The servers (more like counter ladies) were nice and the food came out timely even with the crowd. I'd say the food was pretty good. Loved the grilled chicken sandwich! The potato fries were way too thick and had like 0 seasoning so wasn't a fan of those. As someone who has shellfish allergies- I couldn't order anything from the cold case with open shrimp which is a bit unfortunate BUT they do have a sign stating those more likely allergens which is appreciated and honestly necessary. The soda fountain had multiple out of order spaces but maybe that happened recently and they're waiting on service. Hopefully fixed soon. They have their own parking but again it filled up fast. Loved the inclusion art small businesses and artists here! The case of desserts all looked so good. Just a note- prices on their menu at the front have increased from the larger menu board: the grilled chicken sandwich is definitely not 9.50 anymore and is $11.

This is a hidden gem for those of us who live in Hillsborough. We had passed it several times and decided to give them a try for breakfast today. We both got omelets. I stuck with the veggie option. Hubby got bacon on the side ($2 for 2 pieces of bacon). Omelet was good and the toast was wonderful !!! We got some strawberry jam to go with it and I would say that bread was the star of the plate. Serve yourself on the coffee. It was a delicious brew. And then we spotted the dessert case ..............went for the chocolate peanut butter cheesecake to have "later". OH MY !!!!! That slice was delicious !!!!! This place will not disappoint on their baked goods. We will be back !!!! Maybe coffee and a scone next time.

Very cute local market with excellent service. The number of people waiting in line speaks to the quality. I ordered the shrimp salad and bread pudding. The bread pudding was excellent. Great texture and flavor. Not overly sweet. The shrimp salad was refreshing but could use more flavor. I'll be back to try more of the many selections

Yummy!! We stopped here after being out hiking the woods in the morning; it was honestly the closest thing and we went with the intention to just have a quick bite and go. Instead we were pleasantly surprised by the "neighborhood feel", great tasting food, and nice little patio. The staff was friendly; we had a nice lunch! I had the BLT - lots of crispy bacon and huge (flavorful, too) tomato on this one. We'll be back soon.

New Hope Market was recommended after an appointment today. Great suggestion. Cool little local store with lots of local product-food and some art. We had a BLT and Grilled Chicken sandwich, both with red cabbage slaw. Both nicely done on fresh bread. We will recommend and be back. It also looked they had a great selection of homemade cakes and pies. #farmtotable.

Num num! They have a great breakfast and lunch menu, various salads by the pound, desserts, and fantastic customer service. What else could you want?! Well, you could browse the store as you wait for your food order to come up, incl the cold coolers that have milk, eggs, & meat. Also produce that's in season and various gifts. Or you can sit outside weather permitting or a table inside. Great people watching too! I made a special trip over from south Durham when I saw one of the specials listed today on their FB page was strawberry rhubarb pie. I can't remember the last time I had that! I got the pie to go, a slice of spice cake for my sweetie, and a loaf of Bread Shop sunflower bread. I decided to stay and have lunch and was lucky to get the last avail table inside at around 12:15. Yes, it's a busy lunch spot, esp on a beautiful day! I had a cup of the butternut squash soup topped with homemade croutons, which was delicious! It came in the bowl, but just halfway cos it I ordered the cup portion. Now that I know how good it is and how big the bowl portion would have been I'm getting that next time. The soup was also one of the daily specials. I wanted to add the bacon quiche, but it was already sold out so got a grilled cheese which is good too. I so wish this was closer to where I live cos I'd definitely visit more often!

Ask the Community - New Hope Market

Are the grits in the Down South Grits Bowl cooked or mixed with any dairy products?

I called them to ask and they said they use butter and rarely they drizzle a little milk in their grits. You may be able to call them ahead of time to ask for a small portion prepared without dairy??

Food: 4.5 Location: 5…read moreInside/seating :5 Service: 5 Overall value: 4 My spouse and I came here for lunch as we were in the area, and it was recommended. I had the BLTA sandwich with french fries and Dijonaise on the side and my spouse had the sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast burrito with home fries. We also each got different sodas from the cooler area. The total for two lunch entrées and two canned sodas was about $40. I feel like this is pretty high relatively speaking for a sandwich and fries, and a breakfast burrito and home fries + two canned sodas, which is why I gave the overall value a four. However, the breakfast burrito, home fries, and regular fries were AMAZING. Probably one of the best breakfast burritos I have had in a really long time, and the home fries were crispy and well seasoned. The sandwich I had was pretty good, but nothing super special, and definitely not worth $16. I didn't particularly care for the Dijonnais, but that's just personal preference and glad I had it on the side. The restaurant itself has ample parking and is easy to find. It has a lot of seating, as well as lounge type seating for the breakfast/café crew and people who might be coming to do a little bit of work. You order at the front and they give you a number and bring the food out to your table. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and kind. The restaurant itself was clean. Overall, I would probably give this somewhere between a four and a five, but I do really love to support Local and I could tell this place probably makes a banging coffee drink and had delicious looking desserts, so I went with a 5. Unfortunately, we live between 35 and 40 minutes away, so we likely won't return, but if we find ourselves in that area of Chapel Hill, I would consider stopping in for another breakfast burrito!

Trying to get a little work done, I was pleased to find a comfy couch, power and Wi-Fi- in addition to the incredible twist on a Mexican mocha and an absolutely insane bacon, egg, and cheese on there in house made biscuit! Greeted by the friendliest barista, I made myself comfy on the couch and watched her work her magic. My " not too sweet" mocha had beautiful latte art. I was actually a little sad as I reached the bottom of the mug. So I opted for a decaf refill, it was pure perfection. Do yourself a favor & pop in to make this place your morning ritual.

The menu isn't broad, only a few options, which I was disappointed with. The staff was pretty decent, they forgot a few things, like a lemon for water when requested, a spoon for my yogurt. We ordered a burrito, the biscuit and eggs and the yogurt. Honestly, I was shocked at how good it was. Burrito had great flavor and was super filling. The biscuits were incredible! They were super crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The jam it came with was also delicious. Overall, it was a weird restaurant set up and staff was iffy but the food was quite good! I likely won't go back because the menu is so limited but if you're in the area, it wouldn't hurt to stop by!

The reviews were glowing, and repeatedly warned about the wait, that my expectations were probably set too high going in. I got the steak and eggs crepe and added avocado, extra steak, and kale. The eggs sit on top, and mine came closer to over-hard than the over-medium I asked for -possibly from sitting in the to-go box for 15 minutes, so I'll give some benefit of the doubt there. The crepe itself was tasty, and honestly I'd come back to try something off the sweets menu. But the fillings didn't land. The steak was a little chewy, and the mushrooms were cut too thick for a crepe -- they made it hard to cut cleanly and felt out of place. The add-ons I'll leave alone since those were my call. Overall the dish felt fairly run-of-the-mill against the hype. One note: this might be a dish better served by not allowing customizations, to keep it consistent to its intent. What threw me is that "steak and eggs" is the menu item, yet they also offer a carne asada crepe with no eggs ...so the only real difference is eggs placed on top, which doesn't change the crepe itself. Felt clear as mud after unboxing my meal. The latte I got was standard. Nothing wrong with it, nothing memorable. TL:DR this read as a solid fallback breakfast more than the must-try the reviews promised. The dogs I saw at the outside tables kept this closer to a 3.5 than falling on the other side of 3.

The star of the show in my opinion were the hush puppies and the corn and wild mushroom risotto. There were sooo many different flavors that perfectly complemented each other. I was blown away. And the pig cheek on top was incredible. 500/10. Our server made great recommendations! Then-- chaos and heartbreak ensued in the form of a fire alarm. We were forced to evacuate the restaurant as the fire department arrived , leaving about half our meal on the table. After 30 or so minutes of waiting out in the cold (we were apparently the only guests who hadn't paid out yet) our server came to find us. He asked us if we wanted to just give him our credit card information and he would ring us up later, when the fire department gave them the ok, as he understood not wanting to wait around. It broke our heart to leave our leftovers, but we agreed and went to go get the car. Thankfully we are stubborn.. and optimistic to a fault. And by the third time we circled around the block, the fire truck was pulling away. I ran in and asked if there was any chance our food hadn't been thrown away yet, and it hadn't! The staff was happy we had been able to come back, and they packed everything up for us, even taking the hush puppies off the bill and sneaking in a complimentary piece of key lime pie. I'm so glad we were able to tip our server appropriately for his great service-- and rescue our leftovers. Happy ending. All was well. (And the fire ended up being something innocuous in the unit above the restaurant)
