Lowe's on Rosedale in Bakersfield is my go‑to home improvement stop, because the selection and staffing kick Home Depot in the proverbial butt. The staff: is knowledgeable, willing to walk you through options, and actually walk you to the item if theyre not busy,instead of giving you an aisle to find. The last time I was here I had Leslie help me and she was very efficient and helped me with my military discount which Lowes still needs to fix but Leslie stepped in and helped out quite a bit and got me out of there ,she even looked up the item in the gardening department that didn't have the barcode and was able to find it the first time. The more I come here, more I don't understand why i dont speed pass Home Depot every time and just come here first ( Home Depot is closer) if I had one complaint it would be there clearance Department isn't really a clearance Department 10% off an already inflated price is not clearance prices but If i have to find something that I didn't like that would be it. Overall 5 out of 5 Stars as they had what I needed and it was priced accordingly and better than Amazon. read more

Needed some discs for a Kobalt angle grinder. Went to Tool World and found every brand except Kobalt. The employee also had no idea where parts for my Kobalt tool were located & he tried to sell me a different brand. When I showed him the size differences making his recommended product useless he was clueless. When I asked if there was anyone that had actual tool knowledge he called someone and was told that person was 'busy'. Great, I have a Lowes brand that I can not get parts for and an employee working tools that doesn't know jack about tools. Why am I here? read more

This Lowe's has been my go to home improvement store. The staff here are helpful, of course before buying anything I try to do my research on the product. I have bought my appliances here, my remodel fixtures, and most recently I went back to a fake Christmas tree after years of buying fresh. I got it on sale, and it has different light modes. I would avoid Lowe's at all costs. Lowe's on Rosedale in Bakersfield sold me a refrigerator. I paid extra for them to deliver it to me, remove the old refrigerator, and install the new one. Because I live out of town, I had to wait a week for delivery. They arrived, after I received 5 conflicting notices about the arrival time, to install. They spoke no English so communication was impossible. They disconnected my old refrigerator and left it in the middle of my kitchen, then refused to connect the new refrigerator because, "They cannot touch the waterline." WTF?!? So they left, leaving my old refrigerator disconnected in the middle of my kitchen and took the new one away. Then Lowe's told me it would be "several days" before I could get my refund. I need a new one ASAP! I now have to throw away all of my food and start over shopping for a refrigerator. I'm having surgery soon, so I've done lots of meal prep, and all of the expense, time, and effort for that is gone. I'm beyond furious. read more

There was one customer waiting ahead of us who had been here almost 15 minutes waiting for her product/order and after we checked in, it was almost 8 minutes now before anybody has even acknowledged us. I am a landlord and a frequent customer at Lowe's. My experiences with Lowe's have generally been positive, but today was an exception. A few months ago, I purchased a vanity, but within a month of installation, the top broke due to a manufacturer defect. I contacted the manufacturer, who confirmed that since the vanity was a single-unit item, I could return it to the store. Before removing it from the wall, I reached out to my local Lowe's, and all parties agreed that I could return it. Since I needed a replacement, I waited until the new vanity arrived and was installed before bringing the defective one back. Expecting a smooth return process--especially since this was previously agreed upon--I planned to complete everything within my lunch break. However, when I arrived at the store, the clerk treated me as if I was attempting fraud. It was a terrible experience, and instead of a quick process, it took over an hour to complete the return. I tried exchanging a kobalt battery combo kit with Kelly the manager at Lowe's in Bakersfield. Bvalue $140 it was a gift for my birthday since I had purchased the kobalt combo tool kit for around $300. The batteries came out faulty and don't hold a charge. Lowe's refused to exchange, credit, or even store credit since I did not have a receipt. Again it was a gift. They told me the person that bought it had to go. So what am I supposed to do with new batteries that don't hold a charge. Rather than inconvenience my friend I will be returning all products purchased and not shop at lows anymore for their outrages policies and refusing to make things right. On December 16, I ordered a tree from Lowe's on Lake Pleasant in Peoria, AZ. for my son and his family. He did curbside pick up and then when we returned home he placed the box in his garage. When we all arrived from out of state on Christmas Eve we began putting it up to decorate as a family. The box appeared to have been previously opened. Once we pulled out the teee we noticed some garland left in the box. We assembled the tree and the plugged it in. Half of the lights didn't work. On the 26th I tried to return the tree and was told they do not do returns of trees after Christmas. I returned to my son's house and began looking for the registration card to call the manufacturer as Lowe's told me to do. The papers were out of the plastic and in the box. I began gathering the info from the tree and box and located a label for the previous owner with their address. We called Lowe's and told them we had proof they sold us a used tree and after 2 hours on the phone they said all they could do is offer us a $25 gift card. This is disappointing as the tree was more than that and they are pushing it onto the manufacturer now, instead of owning the fact they sold us a used tree. read more

Bought a smoker from them, PitBoss. Smoker on the very first cook caught an auger fire, not supposed to happen. Contacted Lowes, they declined to assist in the matter referred me to manufacturer. Pitboss was excellent, they took responsibility for the faulty unit and immediately set for a replacement. They had me reach back out to Lowes. The point of contact that I got that day was Danny, come to find out he's an ASM. Homeboy immediately begins to question the process instead of doing right by his customer and stated that he needs to contact his upper management to make sure. Dude acted literally like it was coming out of his paycheck. Followed up with him for a week with no resolution. Didn't bother to contact me once, I had to make contact each time. Danny, you got all my information call me back brother, need this resolved. Today, 8/8/23, I'm on hold waiting to speak to me after he asked me to call back at 19:10 it is currently 19:33. He was supposed to be coming back from lunch as I was told by an employee. I just got out of the call with a female employee that was very friendly and told me that he is now going into a meeting and can only take down my information. I purchased a Pit Boss 850 Pro online for $499 during a Labor Day sale at the Lowe's location on 730 W Ave K, Lancaster, CA. I opted for assembly at the store for convenience. However, when I unwrapped it at home, I discovered several issues: scratches, bent wheels, missing front shelf, screws, meat probe, an unrelated part, and no grills inside. I contacted them, and they suggested it might have been taken from their "needs parts" section. I asked if I could exchange it at the Bakersfield location (7825 Rosedale Hwy, Bakersfield, CA) since it's closer to me. However, at Bakersfield, they said they couldn't exchange it because I didn't purchase it from their store, despite the return policy indicating I could return it to any Lowe's location. They issued a return instead of an exchange, contrary to my expectations, although they loaded up a new Pitboss in the back of my truck. While I was driving off with a new Pit Boss 850 Pro, a staff member stopped me, claiming I hadn't paid for it, as it was a return, not an exchange. The manager confirmed they only process returns, so they unloaded the grill from my truck without my consent while I was on the phone trying to resolve the situation. It took three weeks for the refund to reach my account, and despite making a complaint to customer service, I haven't received any follow-up or resolution in almost a month. I'm doing a tile job at home in Tulare. Decided to stop to see if they had any tile for my entry way. I went to the restroom and found 3 comodes out of service. The bathroom was dingy and had a smell of not being disinfected in months. Also the sinks didn't work. How the heck do you have a big box store that's known for home improvement, but have a sub par public restroom? I wish the inside matched the outdoor facade. If I were in management, I would be extremely embarrassed of the poor up keep of these facilities. I approached a male staff member and told him about the poor condition of the restroom. My dad shopped at Home Depot, my boyfriend shops at Home Depot, and I shop at Home Depot. Even if they did shop at Lowe's they likely would never admit it. It's like cheering for the opposing sports team - you just don't do it outwardly. Even so, I'm fully admitting my love for the Lowe's Garden section. It's MUCH larger than Home Depot and I can always find a variety of plants in all very healthy conditions. I also seem to find much better indoor plants as well. Maybe it's just luck or time of year, but I've been very satisfied with my finds at the Lowe's garden section. So much so, I'll be back there next week! read more

They have turned the check out to self checkout so I have to painstakingly scan everything myself, just to be interrogated half the time when I go to leave. Purchase 3 doors from them with install. The doors took like 6 months to get here and when they did 2 of the 3 were damaged. The install was a complete disaster. Installer arrived late, gets here and asked for coffee, has breakfast before getting started. Then he does a crappy job installing the sliders and front door (see pictures)!! Asst Manager Broc has zero customer service. I purchased a defective motorized window blind on line and contacted the Manufacture to exchange it. I was assured I could exchange the blind at the return counter. The nearest location to my home is Rosedale, Bakersfield approx 50 miles from my home. The Manufacturer Rep gave me a return number insuring the store would get their money back. I walked up to the counter and showed my blinds and asked where are your blinds located. I said I spoke with a manufacturer Rep and was told to request an exchange. The lady at the counter said abruptly, "we don't do that". I said the manufactures rep said you would without question, so I asked "where are your blinds located. I located the matching blinds and returned to the customer service counter. The head cashier was very helpful and attempted to complete the exchange, but struggled due to the on-line purchase, and the purchase was 120 days ago while they have a 90 day return policy. I understood the policy and was very patient through all of this process, but expected an exchange as the manufacturer rep said. I was there now for 32 minutes and repeatedly asked for the store manager. By now I was on the fifth person assisting me at the cash register and giving my licenses eight times. I repeated myself again and asked for the store manager as I was working with the Asst store manager Broc and he sarcastically said. "I"m the store manager and how can I help you"? Really? How can I help you"? This was humiliating and horrible customer service! If he was new to the conversation that was one thing, but after being there and knowing the entire exchange in process how dare you ask how can I help you. Apparently, having a reference number from the manufacture meant nothing. The ironic part was I was visiting from out of town and was on the phone with a colleague of mine who is a General Store Manager for Lowes. He said this should be a simple customer service exchange and couldn't believe I was going through all of this. This should have been a simple exchange for a $99 item with the exchanged item in it's original packaging and a reference number from the original legit purchase. Returns suck! Especially if you have an ego power tool combo. It was a long drawn out process that shouldn't of been. Frustrating and made it seem like I was committing fraud. The string timmer model # didn't match the combo model # outside the box. Wouldn't take my return. Talked to 3 different employees including the manager. Had me call ego to get my return from them. The model# outside the box pertains to the combo. The battery the battery charger and the trimmer itself. Turn the box around to the back and each item has it separate model number in fine print that matched. Wow. The first clerk didnt catch it. Cool.
