Today we visited the Overland Lowe's in Boise. Our lawnmower which is under warranty was not working. We took to this location as instructed to receive repair location. We discussed with Customer Service and they stated there was nobody at this location who could service or a local service center. We were instructed to go to Eagle location for service. We traveled to this location and again, was told they do not offer service nor was there a repair location. Donovan, customer service did not redirect to another location. He contacted Matt, Lawn dept. The mower was replaced and a new warranty provided. Both employees went the extra mile to meet our needs and assisted in the store. We can't thank them enough. I've always had a great experience at this Lowe's so I was rather shocked to see its low review score. Granted, I've never contracted any projects with them so my review is solely based on the many trips for supplies. It seems to me that Lowe's employees, especially at this location, are much more attentive and friendlier compared to Home Depot. I'm not very experienced when it comes to tools, building, plumbing, etc. And my husband isn't able to accompany me to every Lowe's visit, so I rely on the assistance and advice of the employees. Many of them are able to answer my questions quickly and always display a desire to help. I also appreciate how knowledgeable many employees are of their assigned aisle. There's always a really nice older gentleman who helps me when I go for sprinkler parts (we have the worst sprinklers). I wish I could remember his name! I'll have to update this review once I get it. Additionally I've always been satisfied with their curbside pickup and online ordering. Everything always arrives on time. Curbside is normally available the next day, sometimes same day. Overall, I wish others had the same service and experience I continue to receive at this Lowe's location. Not sure I'd take on a $20k home renovation project with them based on some reviews, but for what I've needed the store has always pulled through for me! read more

I have been going to the Boise BestBuy for years, I usually make all my major appliance / electronics purchases at this location. Usually when there is a sell their prices are really good, I was looking to replace my chest freezer with an upright freezer. I went by BestBuy on July 27th, they had an Insignia 13 cubic foot upright freezer for 499.99, that was about $50.00 cheaper than anywhere else in the area. I made a few measurements and spoke to a sales associate. He said the price was good until 8/2, he also pointed to the red sales tag hanging on the door that stated sales price was good to 8/2. I thought perfect, I measured the space at my home, and it was a good fit. I headed back to Bestbuy the next day, July 28th. The Freezer still had the red sale tag on the door, but the price was now 639.99 and the sale still was stated to end on 8/2 I asked a different sale associate what gives and he said they didn't control the prices, it was all done by corporate. He asked if by chance had taken a picture of the sales tag as proof of the $499.99 price from the day before. I had not, shame on me, lesson learned. I asked to speak to a manager about the issue. The manger was extremely helpful, NOT! He said that if I wanted it at that price, I should have bought it yesterday. That was all the help I was given, and he walked away. I was more than a little pissed, so I headed over to Lowes, they had the similar sized garage ready upright freezer for $550.00. After spending tens of thousands of dollars at Lowe's to renovate 2 homes over the years and paying interest using their credit card, we're being punished for getting statements mailed to us for an additional $2 charge! Like the amount I've spent and interest I've paid isn't enough. I closed my Lowe's credit card today and will be shopping elsewhere! In an economy with ridiculous inflation, they're not out to be an honest, customer oriented company. Lowe's is just out to make a dollar. Hands down the most blatant display of incompetence and laziness I have seen at a retailer. I purchased items to be picked up curbside. I checked in and waited with no response. I then went into the store and was stared at waiting at the pickup desk by employees refusing to acknowledge me. Finally one does and he tells me he will bring my order out. After another 20 minutes of waiting he walks out to tell me he can't find my product. Even though the website advertised 26 units in stock. He tells me he can't find it. He also tells me he is supposed to be clocking out in ten minutes and that the company will not pay him overtime. Just days "sorry bout that " and walks off! I was shocked! I call the store manager who didn't seem surprised by the employees actions when I reported it. Eventually I got my product and left. There was no apology, compensation...nothing. I had the best experience at this Lowes! In the appliances department, I had excellent service in the selecting of my appliances. The staff took time to walk the options. A special thanks to Jeanette and Brett! Upon delivery, I discovered an issue with one of the items. The department Manager, Adryenne came to the rescue! She and her team promptly came up with a solution which was greatly appreciated! Adryenne went out of her way to ensure top-notch customer service. In addition to the sales team, the delivery team did an excellent job as well. The delivery was completed as scheduled. And, the staff was very friendly. I Purchased a pressure washer from Lowe's over the holidays as a Christmas gift for my husband. In the spring when we opened it up and tried to start it it would not start. I took it back to Lowe's store they said they could not refund my money because it was over their 90 purchase guarantee. TheyGave me a number for their customer service. I called customer service they said they had never had this problem before and gave me another number. This person had me take it to a small engine repair in Nampa Idaho 30 miles from my home in Meridian. When he looked at it he said it had a problem that he could not fix. I then was sent back to Boise to a small engine repair shop and they are going to try to fix it. This review is for this particular location and does not necessarily reflect my view of Lowes in general. It seems that every time I come in to the Overland location everyone is extremely stressed out, as there seems to be a very heavy customer demand with chronic understaffing. I can just feel the tension every time I walk in. I have ordered some supplies for my place of employment at least three other times before. All orders were placed over the phone and the products were delivered. However with the last two instances it has been a headache with my being bounced back from person to person as well as simple tasks that usually take as little as 15 minutes taking as much as an hour. This past instance, I was told that I not only had to "renew my expired account" but when I was referred to Pro Services those folks claimed that I never had an account to begin with. After nearly 45 minutes of confusion, topped by a very rude interaction with Rhonda in Pro Services, I ultimately told them to cancel my order and walked out. The only bright side of this store was Bill, the specialist in the Plumbing department, who initiated my order. He took the time to help me navigate through the fiasco the very best he could. I know he tried his best, but in the end could not overcome the crappy service and berating from Rhonda. I live within walking distance of the Eagle Road Lowes location and the customer service over there blows this place out of the water. read more

The staff is always friendly. But DO NOT ever buy carpet from this establishment. We spent a decent amount of money to replace one room of carpet. They said the contractor would be in touch within 3 days to set up an appointment to install We waited 3 weeks till we finally received a call back. The day they were sent out to measure the room I had to be home from 12 to 5, skipped work and sat at home all day and they never showed. Then had to call and wait another day for them to show up Then when the install finally came they installed the wrong carpet and again said it would be 3 days for them to set up another install date. (Boise store #0688): We purchased new kitchen cabinets, counter tops, and installation, through Lowe's. If we had it to do over again, we'd go with someone else. The design phase went well, but the installation phase was a nightmare. We placed the order on July 3rd, with an estimated date of completion of August 23rd. The job wasn't complete until October 2nd. The majority of the delay was due to the laziness and incompetence of Lowe's staff. We went with Lowe's because they promised a turn-key installation where they would handle all of the coordination with the contractors. They didn't. Out of necessity, we wound up doing most of the phone calls and coordination ourselves, often with no call backs and/or attitude from both Lowe's staff and their contractors. Lynn was nice enough during the design and payment phase. But when it came to coordinating things, she dropped the ball. Apparently, she didn't want to do the project coordination aspects of the job. For example, when a cabinet came in, which had been on order for 3 weeks, Lynn didn't bother to call us to let us know. It sat in the back of the store for a week. We only found it when we started making a bunch of phone calls to track it down because it should have been here by now. This was on 9/20/19. The note in Lowe's computerized system says "delivered on 9/12/19. Lynn has been notified." Apparently, Lynn did nothing. That's a whole week delay induced by Lynn. In fact, it turned into another week delay because when we then called Boise Kitchen Cabinets & Design to install it, he was booked out two weeks, whereas, he could have done it that week if he'd known. This is just one example. We have many, but you get the picture. Lynn's customer service left something to be desired, too. One day, I called at 10:30 am to coordinate something. She said "I'm with a customer, can I call you back?" After 4 hours went by with no call-back, my wife called Lynn again to follow up. And Lynn was very rude and defensive. "I've been with customers!! I haven't had time yet!!" Really? 4 hours straight with customers, with no chance to call back? Even if so, do you have to be rude about it? Apparently, prospective new customers are more important than existing customers who have already given Lowe's $15,000 worth of business. Her boss, Josh, was equally unhelpful. Multiple dealings with him resulted in no action. For example, on 9/24/19, I called Lynn and Josh answered. I was calling to coordinate the next phase of the job. Told him we're ready for Top Notch plumbing to connect the sink and dishwasher. He said he'd make a note and pass it on to "someone". I asked him to let us know when Top Notch can do it, and he said this, direct quote: "I'll make sure somebody follows up with you". Nobody ever did. So once again, after a few more days went by with no activity, we found ourselves calling the contractors directly. The scheduling assistant at Top Notch plumbing told us they never once heard from Lowe's during the entire job. So much time had elapsed between the start of the job and the end, they thought our job had been put on hold. Not only were the unnecessary delays frustrating, the turn key aspect of the job was disappointing. There were several instances of running into small extra details that weren't covered. Like installing an electrical outlet, installing a water feed line for the ice maker, and re-installation of the appliances. When you pay a company $15,000 for a full kitchen re-model, you would think that would be enough to handle all normal aspects of the job. Not only were these things not covered, we got no help from Lowe's to figure it out. We were left high and dry to to find handymen on our own. I wouldn't recommend Lowe's for your kitchen remodel needs. It's Lowe's loss. Now that our kitchen is done, we're going to remodel our bathrooms. If this experience had gone well, then we'd hire Lowe's again. Instead, we'll take our business elsewhere. Regarding the contractors that Lowe's hired for this job, there were 3: - Boise Kitchen Cabinets and Design to install the new cabinets. - Top Notch Plumbing to handle the plumbing aspects of the job (sink, garbage disposal, dishwasher). - Olive Branch to make and install the counter tops. (We went with Corian). Ryan at Top Notch and Chad at Olive Branch were nice and did a good job. Chad even went above and beyond, giving us some good tips for care of our new counter tops. I would recommend both Top Notch Plumbing and Olive Branch Custom Countertops. Ernie at Boise Kitchen Cabinets & Design was a different story, though. For one thing, he's lazy. He didn't finish the demo that we hired him to do. He left an entire cabinet still attached to the wall, several scraps still attached to the pipes, and the subfloor. He used lame excuses to cut corners and we had to finish the demo ourselves. I would not recommend Boise KitchenCabinets & Design. read more

This store is totally hit or miss. There are some amazing employees and there are some who shouldn't be working here. Bought a bbq and was helped by Blanca. She was amazing super helpful and was above and beyond when it comes to customer service. Went back and ordered a pergola... 3 weeks later they are ready to deliver it. They didn't show up!! I had to call them to find out what happened and they said the driver had a family emergency. But no one bothered to contact us. They promised to deliver the next day by 9am... it showed up around noon. Such a bummer. Go back another week later and that pergola has been marked down $100!! I ask a sales associate if there was anyway we could get the difference since we just bought it. She laughed and then got very defensive. Saying "no way, it's been far to long, otherwise people could come in a year and half later for money." Umm What? It's been 3 weeks. So I went to customer service and the associate there was more than happy to help me out! Super kind guy very helpful! Ended up spending the money I saved on the pergola on items for my next project. Anyway, find a good sales associate, and stick with them. Hopefully they will eventually weed out the crappy employees. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. I have spent thousands of dollars at the Boise Lowe's in the past six months. In February, I bought over $400 worth of sheet rock and insulation for delivery. They never delivered my goods. I called the store, went in person, and contacted customer service online. Each time I was told someone would call me about my issue, yet no one ever called me back and I had to call them over and over. They finally told me that they had delivered my products. When I told them they were wrong, I was told multiple times that they would give me a copy of the loading slip I supposedly signed at delivery. I never received the slip. Since they have stolen my money, I am going to have to sue them to get my money back. It is a shame they have treated a loyal customer so shoddily. read more

Big shout out to Lowe's on Overland in Boise. In case you have been hibernating, the Treasure Valley was hit with Snowmageddon (or Snowpocolypse if you prefer) this year. 15" of snow on the ground in Boise, which is a lot for us. Anyway, our little valley was not prepared for the amount of snow, freezing rain, ice, and flooding we've been getting this year. Needless to say, snow shovels, ice melt, and sand bags are in high demand and short supply. I needed some sand to lay down with my ice melt for my sidewalk and back patio area. Lowe's on Overland had play sand and when I got there, Jerry (in Lumber/Building Supplies) not only loaded the bags on a cart for me, he let me know if the bags had a hole or were torn, I could get them 50% off. So I got 100 lbs. of sand for $4. After checkout, I went and got my car and he even put the bags in my trunk carefully so the sand wouldn't leak out through the tears in the bags. Awesome customer service is always appreciated, especially during rough times. read more

I have had two experiences with the Lowe's on Overland Rd. in Boise, Idaho. (one in 2019) and in May of 2023. On both occasions, there were problems that delayed the purchase process. Back in 2019, I decided to go to Lowe's as they offered a $100 rebate from buying my new water heater. Due to a delay of the installation of the water heater, Lowe's said they could not honor the rebate. My only saving grace was that Bill from plumbing made it right by giving me a $100 Lowe's gift card. Fast forward to 2023 where my A.O.Smith water heater, purchased in 2019 from Lowe's failed, and after only 4 years, I needed a new water heater. As I still had 2 years left on my warranty on the water heater, I went back to Lowe's to purchase a new one. A.O.Smith did give me a substantial e-card credit toward a new purchase but Lowe's changed their policy of installing the new water heater. Therefore, I had to find a plumber to install the new one; Lowe's sent out someone who gave me a estimate of $1500.00. Under my Lowe's Protection Plan I purchased back in 2019, I was supposed to have a $500.00 credit toward installation, even though the manufacturer was at fault for selling me a " lemon" water heater. Of course, Lowe's wouldn't pick up the additional $1,000. In re-contacting the warranty company ( multiple trips to Lowe's, phone calls to the warranty company and manufacturer), the warranty department said I didn't even quality for the $500.00. There was so much disorganization, confusion re: this purchase, that I have vowed never to return to Lowe's. In addition, they failed to give me a proof of purchase receipt which I needed in order to register the new water heater with A.O. Smith. I ended up having a friend install the water heater and when he returned the old tank, they asked for the RA# ( Replacement Authorization#) which was in their data base but never checked; therefore, my friend had to go back to return it a second time. It's pretty apparent that this store has significant training and competency issues of its' associates ( Bill is a great customer advocate and an exception). The whole process was frustrating with a lack of knowledge by associates including not knowing where to access customer account information. I can't recommend this Lowe's at all. read more

Lowe's has been our choice lately since Home Cheapo has been letting us down during the last couple of years. The selection of ceiling fans is out of this world. You'll be looking with your head tilted up for about 35 minutes trying to decide on which fan. This one has longer blades, that one has interesting lighting features. I have a love/hate relationship with this place. I love the convenience of this location due to the proximity to my house. However, every time I go here a little part of me dies and I feel like I could do better. If Home Depot were closer to my house than Lowes, I'd never go to Lowes. In a pinch when I need something basic that I can get at any home improvement store, Lowes is there for me and meets my needs. I can't say any employee at Lowes has ever blown my mind with superior customer service. I kinda like when employees leave me alone and let me get done what I need to get done. The weirdest part is something bothers me about this Lowes but for the life of me, I can't quite put my finger on it. Kinda like I walk through the front door and my emotional defenses are put on high alert. If I need sprinklers, hand tools or basic painting sundries, Lowes is A-OK with me. In general I was happy about the service provided by Lowe's at this time. Most of the staffs are quite friendly and helpful. I especially like the cashier when I checked out. However, the staff who named Marry really made me very uncomfortable. She is rude, unprofessional and very inpatient. I was trying to get a shade cloth, while I was selecting the right color, she almost cursed me when I change my mind to a different color (she haven't even provided any services to me yet, I was just choose color myself at that moment). When she came over to help me measure the length, she realized I changed my mind to another color, she literally said "what the" (Yes, she swallowed the last word) but everyone knows what the last word gonna be and that is very rude, even if I am not a customer. Moreover, she is so unprofessional, she didn't even know how to use a ruler to measure the shade cloth, and I was waiting and helping her figure it out patiently. I don't know how many staffs who named Marry at Lowe's overland store(Boise, ID), the store number is 0688. But I'd like to describe her in detail, in case there are more Marry there at the same day. She was at the cashier area around 10.30AM at 23rd June, 2020. And she is in her mid - fifty's to me, grey hair and her size is XL. I purchased a Maytag Bravos dryer for $499, plus extras on 12/23/19 from Molly in Appliances. She explained delivery would be on 1/7/20. When the delivery guys brought the Maytag dryer into my home they couldn't fit it through the interior door to the laundry room. Driver explained the Bravos dryer is one of the largest dryers they sell. Since it wouldn't fit, they had to take it back to their truck. I called Lowe's and explained what happened and the lady said once the dryer made it back to the store she'd refund the $588 to my debit card. I noticed on Wednesday 1/9/20 there was no credit to my bank account. I called Lowe's and spoke to Molly and she said she'd take care of the refund. Molly called about an hour later and said she'd processed the refund but somehow the refund went into a store gift card and not back to my bank. She said just come in and pick up the card and I could go to the customer service desk and they'd just cash it out. After arriving at the store, getting the card from Molly, I then went to the customer service counter. An employee in a wheelchair offered to help me saying she was a manager and could do my transaction. I said I just wanted to cash out my $588 gift card. She (Cheryl) said she could just put it back to my bank and it would be credited immediately. I said, "perfect" as it would save me a trip to my bank. It's now Thursday 1/10/20 and there is no credit to my checking account. I called Lowe's and spoke to Sherry and after a few hours she called me back to my tell me that her billing Dept says it will take 1-3 days for the refund to process!! So I have no dryer. Last year, 2019, we chose Lowes to replace our granite kitchen counter tops and acrylic tile backsplash. We chose a quartz they had on display with a back splash travertine that we had actually found somewhere else. Josh in the custom cabinet department drove to the location I had found the travertine to ensure he knew the make/model and ordered it from one of the Lowe's warehouses. I'll change this review if things get better but so far my service has been terrible. Went in on a Thursday, paid for $45 to have an installer come measure. Lowes said the installer would call in a day or two , 5 days later I called Lowes and they got the installer out that day. Installer said he'd call the measurements in to Lowes the next morning, a Wednesday. Today (Thursday) I called Lowes and they don't even have the measurements yet. Which means a full week and a day I am no closer to replacing the busted window. Meanwhile I have layers of cardboard over the window and the weather is changing quickly. Stores like Lowes and Home Depot are pretty much the same. Big, barn-like, often with birds in the rafters. The smells of sawdust, rubber, cleaners and oil. Large flatbed carts and people in aprons. Only the color schemes change. I went to Lowes because I had been given a $50 gift card. I had actually found an item online that I wanted, and hoped I could find it locally. I also planned to stock up on household necessities, like light bulbs and 'canned air'. We had to ask for help to find the 'canned air'. (We being my husband and me). We had a great time looking at kitchen counter tops, dishwashers, stoves and washer/dryer pairs. It seemed a bit difficult to find someone to help us when we found we DID need help- and I promise you we spent a lot of time trying to find the item ourselves. When we did find a gentleman to help, he DID go above and beyond. He was quite personable. The item I had found online, was nowhere to be found in the store. When asked where similar items might be found (it was a lanyard- worn around the neck- to hold keys or an id and I was looking for a specific model) we found no items of the sort. Finally at customer service I pulled up the website on my phone and had the staff look for that specific item- of course it was not to be had at the store. End all be all.. for basic needs, this store is a-ok. If you are looking for something specific you might want to call ahead before you head over there. read more
