Had to do some appliance shopping recently. After a friend did some recon and I looked at reviews, decided on Wes's in Boise. I highly recommend. Austin called me promptly when I left a message, was personable and helpful in person. (Been a while since I bought an appliance, so I asked every question twice. He was totally patient. NOTHING WAS TOO MUCH TROUBLE.) Delivery guys came during the window they gave me, messaged me when they were a little ways out, were personable, professional and thoughtful. I bought it Monday and it was delivered today. I washed a load last night. PERFECT! BTW, I just didn't want to ADULT on this one. We were very happy with Wes's. We arrived at the store, which, to be honest, isn't all that appealing. But, I'd rather they pass on that savings to their customers anyway. Dave was quite knowledgeable about the washers and dryers we were considering. No mean feat considering that Wes's gets brands from all over. The washers and dryers we looked at were new, maybe dinged, but otherwise quite usable. The store isn't huge, so we had maybe a dozen washers and dryers to look at. Our initial target was lower, but we couldn't pass on the fantastic deal Dave gave us on the Electrolux. We also got a new Samsung dryer--again, at a terrific deal. We chose to have the washer and dryer delivered. We received a call about 15 minutes ahead of time warning us that our delivery was imminent. Zak and Adam, the two delivery guys. took our old washer and dryer (a brief moment of silence please), and zipped in our new washer and dryer. All of it was clean, precise, and controlled. All told, it took maybe 15 minutes for the delivery. This actually wasn't our first purchase from Wes's. About six months ago we purchased an LG refrigerator. It too was professionally delivered and has worked great for us ever since. read more

Bought a washer and a freezer from Wes a few days ago. The washer does not spin at all and leaves my clothes in standing water. The freezer makes an awful whirring noise. He told me before purchasing that the appliances were fixed up, as good as new. Methinks not! read more

We purchased a used washing machine from Jerry. We happened to see their ad for this particular washing machine that we were in need of, and we called. From the beginning it was great--we felt like we were dealing with the owner. They treated us like we were important even though our purchase was small in comparison to a lot of purchases. We already own a washer and dry set bought at a 'box store.' We had checked with the local places, and no one was all that interested in selling us what we needed. Let us also say we bought this appliance by seeing a photo only. It was as advertised. It was delivered to us and set up expertly. The delivery guy (Chris) took special care not to scratch our hardwood floors and get it into position for us. I felt like his grandma--which I could have been. In this day and age when customer service is not important, we felt Wes Appliance Delivered. We recommend you check them out should you be looking for an appliance. Quality Very good - I went to All Brand Appliances across the street to look for a used washer and dryer. The best deal they could give me was a non-matching w/d set that were both off shoots of whirlpool (neither of which were the same company) for $400 + $40 shipping with 120 day guarantee. Feeling unsettled about that I went across the street to Wes's Appliance. It is a small, somewhat cramped shop run by a formerly German man named Wes and his formerly Polish wife. They were friendly and their prices were very reasonable, however they would not negotiate whatsoever. All of the washers & dryers that he has were matching and varied in price from about $200 - $1000. Many of them were in the $200-$400 range. After finding one that we liked, we bought it and Wes delivered and installed it that day for $40. We haven't had to use his 6 month guarantee, but if we do I am sure it would be easier to go to his shop to talk to him than communicate through the phone. His accent is quite strong, but he was a very nice man. I would recommend him to anyone in the market for a used appliance. read more

Good product - poor customer service. My husband and I just bought a used washer/dryer set from Wes after our old dryer stopped working (or so we initially thought). My husband had been a repeat customer, having had a contract with Wes' Appliance when he worked for a former employer who bought appliances in bulk. Wes delivered the set, as promised, the day after purchase. I ran a load of laundry immediately after the set was delivered, only to find that the dryer, while running, was not heating up to dry the clothes (incidentally, the exact problem our old washer had recently had). We called Wes to discuss the problem, but nobody answered our call, so we left a detailed message about the problem we were having. When we still hadn't received a response a couple of hours later, we tried calling again; this time we were able to relay our problem directly and Wes agreed to come to our place to inspect the dryer the following day. He arrived at our home at the agreed upon time. Wes promptly told me upon greeting him at the door that he has never had problems with his products at the store, so he suspected that the problem with the dryer was electrical - that we may not be getting enough electrical voltage to supply the heat for the drying portion of the dryer. He said that if this was the case (and not a problem with the dryer itself) he would, despite the 90-day warranty, charge my husband and I a $20 fee for coming out to look at it. Indeed, the electrical issue was the problem, which he proved by showing me the two-pronged dryer section on the breaker panel... one of the prongs was slightly offset from the other, so he lined them up and reset the breaker (pretty tough, huh?). Wes' "service call" took ~8 minutes, including the amount of time it took for him to explain his suspicions. My husband and I had experienced an electrical outage at our home only a few days previously, which I now suspect had also caused the same issue with our former dryer. Unfortunately for us, it never occurred to either one of us that the problem might be electrical, assuming that if something had happened with the breaker the entire dryer unit would have stopped working. Well, now we know better - as Wes said to me, "you live and you learn." I don't have a problem with that, as belittling as the comment was, and the $20 fee isn't really the issue either even though we don't have a lot of money to throw away. What bothers me is that we could have been told that this might be the problem when we relayed the issue [twice] over the phone (thus, "saving" Wes a trip, while also saving us the extra money). Further, when we were first shopping around in his store, we had described to Wes the problem our previous dryer was having - that it was running, but not drying the clothes. He didn't enlighten us at that time that this could be a possible electrical problem. Incidentally, Wes told me at the time of his "service" call that his $20 fee policy wasn't about the money - of course it's about the money! Had it not been about the money, I'm confident we would have been told to check our breakers when we were discussing the problem over the phone. Now, there are those who might say tough luck, after all "business is business." However, my husband and I have decided that we would rather spend our money with a business that values its customers and responds to transactions in an honest, ethically sound manner - these actions will ensure repeat business, not just price. We will buy future purchases elsewhere. read more
