Customer service here is either pushy or absent. This store never has anything. I needed a 10' dishwasher hose and its a special order. Sale items aren't in stock. The parking lot is dangerous. In 2023 I moved into a Brooklyn Condo that needed some serious upgrades. The kitchen was about 40 years old with half of the builder grade materials disintegrating before my eyes. After 2 years of saving up- it was time to do the renovation. We were told that the project should be done by the first week of April. Lowes has the full line of solid wood kraftmade cabinets and we decided to go with Lowes and their design services and install. We met our designer on zoom and she did great work and made sure everything was ordered. We knew what we wanted at the start so we didn't have much time needed debating products or finishes. Lowes designers have many clients and it can be hard to get a follow up appointment when they are working on simultaneous projects- they also have a monthly sales quota and your representative is thinking of that as they schedule their jobs. The design was finished by early December and everything was paid for and ordered by January. Some of that time was spent waiting for an estimator who did measurements. The cabinet estimator was incredibly professional. The flooring estimator couldn't care less about the job and completely missed a portion of the job in the estimate despite having a conversation with me about it. We were told that the ordered product needed to come in before any work could be scheduled. The cabinets came in mid February and than took up my entire living room and kitchen for 35 days because the that was the earliest appointment for the lowes flooring contractor after the cabinets were received. Their work looked very professional but the scheduling and estimating was just a poor experience. The cabinet installation was estimated to take 2 days, it took 6. The team did a professional job but argued about every detail the whole time. I think the cabinet team did great work and I felt they did their best. The countertop installer did great estimating and we're pleased with the results. The install team argued that the stone wouldn't fit after it was cut but there were no issues in the end and that was the smoothest process. The backsplash was the cheapest part of this project and ultimately the one that has led to this poor review. A new measurement appointment was needed for this portion of the project (even though they literally have measured everything and rebuilt from scratch at this point) which took considerable time on the contractors end to schedule. After waiting some considerable time after the measurement I was notified that the tile we wanted was out of stock and would arrive in two weeks and the work could begin. 2 weeks go by and the contractor calls me to schedule the job. Its now a month after this project was originally estimated to be totally completed- I'm on vacation and out of state. I call the contractor back the following day and I'm told that a bunch of dry wall needs to be replaced before the work can be completed and that this was discussed at the measurement appointment. I explain that this wasn't discussed and that if I need to replace something - to please send photos and a description of what needs to be done so I can hire someone else to do that since it was never discussed. The representative is super vague on what needs to be happen and for whatever reason tells me she can't send photos or a description and that I have to call lowes back. I ask if we can just get a date to schedule since it took so long last time and I'll have this done before the appointment. They say they can't schedule anything until they have updated photos but that they have appointments available next week. I'm confused and I call lowes. Lowes has a policy that they generally won't follow up on issues earlier than 2 business days. After 3 phone calls to lowes and 6 business days, I was sent photos of our entire kitchen. I'm now frustrated and I patch anything that looks even a little out of place and they seemed to think that was adequate. My install appointment is scheduled for 6 weeks out. I get confirmation texts leading up to my appointment including the day before. The morning that the tile should be installed- I get a call from lowes- the store can't find all of the tile that was ordered. They have to reschedule. I inquire if there's any way to get tile from any of the other 4 lowes within a 30 minute drive from me and I'm told that they don't know- and they'll get back to me in 2 business days. I ask if they can just do a portion of the tile today since they had 75% of the material and a huge part of the area we had was behind the fridge. They say no because they couldn't reach anyone at the store. I got on the subway, canceled the install service and installed the tile myself today and still have tile left. The estimator overestimated. I could go on. read more

First time visiting this store and the experience was okay. The items were well organized and each section was clearly marked. Many items had plenty inventory. The prices for most items were reasonable compared to the other home improvement store nearby. The employees were friendly though. We asked the employee where the weed killers were, she just pointed to the direction of the item without telling us exactly where the weed killers were placed. We looked at the signs and found them at the end, but I would expect a little bit more service / help from the employees. Parking lot was big, but a good amount of people hanged out (just standing and chatting) in the parking lot. read more

After doing the IKEA walk through, I went to Lowes to spend a gift card. I have been to this Lowes a couple of times and been denied entry by their early hours on sunday even more. I went looking for something to buy with my gift card. I had gone to ikea to look at shelving and cabinets for a corner of dead space in one of my rooms. While in the Lowes aisle with storage and shelves, two sales associates (Ryan and Matt) asked me if I needed help finding anything. I told them I had seen what they had and didn't find anything that jumped out at me. We started talking about the corner and cube systems but I felt they were too short. Ryan told me he believed they stacked and went online and found information that let me know they would and would go almost to my ceiling if stacked. He did the math twice. I realized that with the gift card, I would only pay for one of the two I needed and it would immediately solve my problem. I thanked him and looked for a big dolly kart. He went and got one for me and even loaded the cart with the shelves. After I paid, Matt came and made sure I didn't need help loading them in my car. I see all the one and two star reviews and I don't get it. Sucks for you. I had a good day there. Update: One of my boxes did not have the Hardware to assemble it inside. I have mixed feelings. When I order online from the New Jersey location, I always get exceptional service. Get exactly what I ordered and if it's an appliance that needs to be installed, my experience has been good. on the other hand, I went into the Brooklyn store the one near Atlantic Avenue and that experience was horrible when I arrive at 8:55 PM. I was greeted by someone who works in the sections of the oven and as I began to discuss a product, the sales rep responded sorry I have to go. My shift is over five minutes later however he stated that he would get me somebody to help an hour later four employees later no one ever came I went to customer service to share my experience, and the staff Member told me. We purchased something from this location & decided to use their home delivery service. Everything went smoothly up until the day of delivery. They arrived within the allotted time and updated us as they got closer to our home. Upon arrival, one of the delivery men came up to make sure everything was all clear so they could bring in our items but unfortunately, we seemed to have run into a problem even though Lowe's assured us everything was good as far as measurements went. Thinking about it after the fact just shows how they only cared about the SALE & not helping us so that we could avoid having to return or reschedule. On the day of the delivery, the driver spoke to my husband & explained the issue & agreed it was best to reschedule, so reluctantly, I did with reassurance from my husband. The delivery driver told us that they could redeliver as soon as the next day but that was not the truth. It took us an enormous amount of calls & visits back to Lowe's only to be told each time that we'd receive a call within 24 hours but NEVER did. It is absurd that Lowe's associates can not reach a delivery company that they have partnered with to deliver their products to their customers. How? I need someone from corporate to make it make sense because I shouldn't have had to call irate & threaten to cancel the order if I did not get a delivery date before the end of our conversation. Once again, the customer service rep seemed unable or unwilling to help me, so I requested to speak to a supervisor about 3 times before she finally put me on hold to get a supervisor. As I was on hold waiting (about 5-7 minutes) I texted my husband to inform him that I was on the phone with Lowe's & briefly told him what was going on. He responded informing me that the delivery company was calling him as we were texting (How convenient!). They scheduled us for the following morning & guess who comes back on the line without a supervisor? No supervisor but she had a message from her supervisor, lol. The message was ONCE AGAIN that someone from the delivery company would be calling us within 24 hours to get us scheduled. I guess they planned to pretend for whatever reason that they had nothing to do with someone finally calling us while I was on hold to get us scheduled for delivery. So, we finally have our delivery date, right?! Wrong! They called us to reschedule us AGAIN. Our second delivery date was pushed down a day later. We ended up getting our delivery and this time the delivery men were super helpful. My husband spoke with them when they arrived at our home and briefly explained the issue with the first delivery attempt and the men told my husband there wouldn't be any issues and that they would get it done. I was so worried that we would run into another issue but my husband reassured me and made sure that EVERYTHING went as planned this time and it did! We ended up with our purchase after a complete runaround. Lowe's needs better customer service because at no point should a customer have to go back and forth unnecessarily the way we did because Lowe's can't reach a company they partnered with to deliver their customer purchases. read more

I loathe coming here but home depot didn't have a part i needed and it was in stock, so i ordered online for pick up and showed up 3 hours later like the app told me to and to no one's surprise, the item still wasn't picked and 1 item.... 1 item that was right outside the online ordering area. So i had to go get the item myself, i asked an associate where the item was located he swore that this aisle was the only place it could be.. well it was 2 aisles down. After that long quest, i realized that i needed to buy a tiny can of joint compound, i get in the self checkout and try to use my military discount, the register craps out the associate can't figure it out and tells me to go to the regular checkout line, there's one person on each line and all the registers are having issues, after what seems like an eternity, the cashiers tell me that there's a new system and its not working very well. At some point you think that this Lowe's is probably some simulation to test the limits of one's patience. Nothing works and nothing is where its supposed to be, but the biggest cherry on top is the "veterans parking" they were all taken up by not-veterans, that's ok though, how is a business supposed to police this? If myself and other veterans expect to park all the way in the dark corners of the parking lot thats fine, but advertising veterans parking and not caring who parks there is just virtue signaling and a big middle finger to us, just take the signs down, its brooklyn, i get it if i have to walk a bit. read more

Massive home improvement that carries just about everything. I like this Lowe's but can easily substitute Home Depot since I'm not loyal to one over the other. This is one of the larger locations. You just might need rollerblades to get around. Problem is, it is impossible to get assistance. Period. It has always been like this. Upon my recent visit, and after a while, I finally got some help. The associate was very nice and helpful. From appliances and flooring to lighting and accessories, Lowe's has it all. When the warmer weather rolls around, their outdoor nursery has a nice selection of flats and gardening tools. I even bought a Christmas tree here a few years ago. They don't have any free bags when checking out so keep that in mind. This Lowe's is walking distance from where I live. A good staple in the Gowanus area. read more

Dear Lowe's Customer Service, I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with a recent experience at 118 2nd ave, Brooklyn NY. Recently I visited your store to exchange a propane tank. While attempting to unload the tank from my vehicle, I was accosted by a metro one security guard who was a fat Russian guy with a heavy accent and beard who demanded that I move my car immediately. Despite my prompt action, the Metro one security guard continued to berate me using profanity over a loudspeaker. To my further dismay, this individual was recording the incident without my consent, which I believe to be a violation of privacy. The metro one security guards behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable. I expect a higher level of customer service from a reputable company like Lowe's. I request that appropriate action be taken to address this matter, including but not limited to employee retraining, removal from this location and disciplinary action. BEWARE I was in the Brooklyn Loews store 12/30/25. I only needed one thing, so I went to self-check out and at that moment I received a phone call. I realize I should of never answered it but it was important. So I was not paying attention. I put my credit card in and got a receipt for over $200 and realized something was wrong with the amount so I went to the store manager. He explained there is a scam going on in the store where people scan a gift card and wait for some sucker like me to just put in their credit card. Well the manager stated he knew this was going on and said there is nothing he can do he did nothing to stop it or at least warn his customers! Lowe's clearly wants to be a store for DIY customers only, so I don't know why it bothers with the pretense of specialists in the kitchen remodeling area when the desks are always empty (n.b. this issue is not unique to this location--desks were also empty at a different time of day in a different state). Today, an associate on the floor pointed to four empty desks with jackets on their chairs but could not say where all the consultants were, why all were away at the same time, or when any were expected back. At the end of the call, I confirmed that I needed to visit the store in person to find out if propane was available for canister purchase or fill-up. The salesperson confirmed this, and I expressed my frustration. I applied for credit , receive like 4,000 in credit. Paid bills on time.One day I went to make a big purchase, come to find out they drop my credit to 500, how you take way some one credit with out notify the consumer. Call them they say my credit changes and they go by trans union report. Best Buy and Lowes all use Citi bank and credit didn't change at Best Buy. So I went to Home Depot and receive 5000 in credit with them who also used Citi Bank. Call Lowes today, now remind you my score is over 700 and they still refuse to raise credit limit back up. On April 16 2024 I placed the order for the countertop and backsplash through the store representative I called Installation Made Easy (IME) the agency contracted by Lowes for the appointment 877 477 1115 and I received an update work order from Lowes/IME May 1st 2024 with a cost of 7,072$ for 79 sq feet instead of 70 sq feet , in addition there were charges that I was not told about. A $1,247 price difference. I called IME for an explanation of the price difference and they were not able to provide me with the information adn told me to contact another 3rd party Stone Systems. They informed me that they do not have the pricing information and asked me to call Lowes/IME again. 1.Lowes in store rep and manager did not know and could not help 2. 3 reps at IME/Lowes were not able to tell me what those charges were I made over 20 phone calls between IME department and SS a to determine the cost change. 3. May 1st I insisted on a conference call for explanation. NONE OF THE SUPERVISORS CALLED May 20, installers arrived with the wrong countertop- Called the manager at Lowes agency Stone systems Drew. He stated that an error made in cutting the stone. May 21 I called IME. I told them my issues with the countertop. They said they would discuss w Stone systems and get back to me. I did not hear from either vendors. May 23 I called Lowes IME again. They were not able to provide any information. supervisor Irene and Tiffany. The backsplash is upside down Renee FROM EXECUTIVE responded and offered a 250$ compensation for above errors CURRENTLY: JULY 28 onward Now the 2 seams are already turning GRAY . I had called Drew from Stone systems after the installation and told him the seams were raised, he said someone will call to make an appointment. No one followed up and we were away. NOW the seams have started to turn GRAY. It was initially white with a little gray - I spoke with the technician when he was installing, and he said the small amount of gray seen will lighten when the counter is dry . This is a brand new counter that now looks 40 years older because of graying seams. We need help. This is so frustrating, we have been dealing with so many of the issues that your company caused without any just compensation, but to have a POOR product in the end is not acceptable. read more

Well I received a call yesterday the deck railing for the stairs is ordered and will be delivered 4/30. Nine months to build a deck that Lowe's estimate was going to take one month. The contractor is not a carpenter. Several 2 100 errors in construction. What will Lowe's go when I refuse to pay. We bought a fully-assembled, brand-new electric golf cart from Lowe's store #2656 on 12/13/23. Almost immediately, the golf cart had pieces fall off including the wheels from the stripping of the bolts during assembly. We asked to return it since it was a damaged product and they refused to take it back and instead wanted Coleman (the manufacturer) to repair, with us paying the delivery charge. After doing so and sending to a recommended shop by Coleman, the cart remains unfixed with Coleman and Lowes fighting over whose fault. We are frustrated with false advertising about the return policy, the poor assembly and the lack of help by the store personnel. We want our money back. The bottom line is don't buy expensive items from Lowe's, there is no return policy when big money is involved. read more

The appliance service they subcontract to is it possible to reach and difficult to schedule with. if you call the store, they won't give you the number to call them directly so you get transferred from department to department and put on hold up a half an hour. The sales experience was even worse with me having to ask twice to have a staff person come sell me a dishwasher. There is no safe way to get to Lowes if you are walking. This is Brooklyn, and lots of people walk places. If you enter Lowe's from 9th Street, you are risking your life. And once you do discover what could be a sidewalk, Lowe's has it blocked with crap. Very unsafe, they will most likely get sued one day. And once you are inside, expect horrible customer service. There is basically one guy who works there that can answer questions. The rest of the staff is pretty useless. The prize winner was the associate who couldn't help me find a product that I had found on their website, where the the aisle and bin number was clearly listed. He told me to 'just buy it online for store pick up and come back in an hour'. Basically giving the task to someone else to find what I needed. Oof. I am not discrediting the other reviewer's experiences, but I had a great experience at Lowe's. I ordered a ton of very specifically sized nuts, bolts, washers, and screws for in-store pickup. Everything was accounted for and the woman running pickup was thorough and inviting (I believe her title was "Front End Manager"). Other staff coming in and out of the pickup area wore masks and respected customer's space. I decided to head into the store for a few extra things and everyone was respectful of each other's space and checkout was again smooth, normal, nothing to write home about. Based on the other reviews, I decided it WAS something to write home about. I live right by the Bed Stuy Home Depot, which didn't have everything I needed and I do not regret biking out to Lowe's. I buy a Live Canna Lilly plant online on July 18th and choose the option, get it by 2pm next day July 19th in NYC and pay $15 Delivery for that. Guess what, they actually ship it from Seattle WA home delivery and as today the plant didn't move much and it expected to be in my city by July 25th, that 7 days in transit for a live plant. I don't expect to receive the plant heathy without water inside a dark box for so long. I don't recommend. read more

I bought a refrigerator at Lowes in Davenport, IA and it was supposed to be delivered the following day. However, when i got home I did another measurement of the space that the ne fridge was going and discovered that the new fridge was going to be 2inches too wide. I went back to Lowes the same day and had that order cancelled and they said the refund would be put back onto the card I paid with. It has been 18 days and I still have not received the refund. I never even got the item so I don't understand why it is taking so long to get my money back. They said it could take 7-10 days, but it has already been 18 days. Every time I go there to ask about it they take my information, say they will find out and give me a call back, but I have not heard back from them yet.
