Lowes will not take back my brand new GE stacked washer dryer with a dryer that makes terrible grinding noise. My wife has Parkinson and dementia and the noise drives her and me and my neighbor upstairs crazy. Someone at GE says they know the motor is noisy and they are working on it. Was there a disclaimer stating the motor is noisy? Did Lowes also know from previous returns or attempts to return that the motor is noisy. GE and Lowes need to exchange my appliance for a different brand that is not defective, or another GE that does not have this problem. Do NOT buy appliances from lowes. I bought a gas dryer last week. They showed up with a electric dryer. Called up lowes and after going back and forth about sending the right one, they refunded our money. I went down to a lowes store and bought a gas dryer. Made sure they had it in stock. NEVER ORDER HOME DELIVERY. Absolutely abysmal service, you are better off going to the store and getting a ride from any stranger with a van. I picked same day delivery (ordered at 9AM) and items were not delivered until 11 am the following day. You will never get a delivery notification, the driver just showed up. they give you an 8 hour window for dropoff. Not only that but the order was WRONG. They delivered 8 bags of sand instead of 10. The Brooklyn Lowes with phone number ending in 1151 has incredibly horrible customer service, avoiding this place as possible as you can! I ordered a washer one week before Thanksgiving. The installation was never completed upon delivery, both my tenants and we (owners) have spent countless hours calling the customer service trying to get the installation team to come back fixing the hookup, not to mention the long excruciating time for the calls to be picked up by the store, the worst part is that the appointments promised by the store were missed again and again without explanations, it's been now more than a week without resolutions. We currently have an uninstalled dishwasher sitting in the middle of our apartment. First, Lowes collects the 300 dollar installation fee and another 100 dollars for some kind of local installation fee. The were super speedy with that. Then, after a month of calling Lowe's installation line and the idiot contracted installers (All Day Plumbing), we finally got a scheduled time for installing our dishwasher. After the installation team arrived late (for a 3 hour window), brought the dishwasher to the apartment, and within less than 5 minutes water was shooting from a pipe and the guy told me that we would have to reschedule and get the water shut off in the building along with replacement parts for some of the pipes. Apparently absolutely nothing could be done today. Guy just left after 5 min, saying that the water in the building will have to be shut off and we need some new parts. I haven't heard from or been able to reach the installers after that. I have no idea what is wrong with the pipe, and have no ability to communicate why we need the water shut off to the coop as a result. Not that I could get in scheduled anyways. The installers pick up the phone and it goes immediately to hold. We bought this dishwasher a month ago, paid 300 dollars for installation, you collected an additional 100 dollars for installation in Brooklyn, the actual permit was approved immediately, and only after what seemed like 100s of calls could I actually get an install date and time, and the installation time window came yesterday at 4:30 PM (the day before! again after 10 calls to the installers). They only confirmed the late arrival after I called them today (again at least 5 calls) (maybe a heads up from them without me calling would have been just a little better). We had to pay for $50 parking and put a deposit down for the time of installation in our coop. The expense of this dishwasher and the installation service provided were absolutely horrible. I don't know how you can justify collecting installation fees for an installation that has still yet to happen and has been an absolute nightmare. I am very sure now that Lowe's has just STOLEN 300+ dollars from me. Avoid this installation service at all costs. They are just criminals. read more

They gave me a 9am-1pm delivery window for a stove Via email. This is normal, however, I called them on the morning of to see if they could get in touch with dispatch to see how far along I was in the queue so I could know if the delivery was closer to 9am or 1pm. This is also normal. The lady who answered the phone was very rude. She kept saying that the info she had was 9-1 and that she wasn't dispatch. I asked her for her name and her info for my notes so if I had to call back I'd know who I spoke to. She refused to give it to me. She said that she would transfer me to the "dispatch manager" but when she did the line gave a busy signal so that was a lie. One star is generous. I wish there was an option. For none or negative starts. I spent nearly $1k on an appliance, some basic customer service skills would be appreciated. Treating any customer that way whether they spent $1 or $100k is appalling, especially when they are polite and asking for basic info about their delivery. Uncoordinated install services. I ordered a Window AC on 6/29 (order 728311176) along with installation. Installation charge was $109. When one orders installation with purchase, we expect the delivery and installation to be coordinated. Well, I found out the order was shipped via FedEx ground. What? Is it shipped to Lowes in Brooklyn so the installer can pick it up deliver and install? Nope. No such luck. The bottom line is that Lowes lied. I have an email which stated: "A professional independent installer will contact you to schedule your installation within 2 business days after product is secured for your project. Typically product will be available within 9 days if not in stock at the store. After that, they will pick up your item(s) required for installation at the store and bring them along on the day of the appointment. Once your item(s) are picked up, your card will be charged and you'll be emailed a sales receipt." None of this happen. So FedEx dropped off the AC on July 2. We call the installer (given by Lowes) on the day of the install since he didn't show up and he said he doesn't work in Manhattan. We call Lowes back and got another installer. To make a long story short, the install was then scheduled for 7/12. On 7/12 we call the installer because again they didn't show up. She said she is sick and cannot come. So again we call Lowe's and now the install got moved to 7/15. Mind you I ordered the AC on 6/29. So if you're OK with Lowe's lies regarding the installer picking up the product to install and waiting two weeks with an uncoordinated install and delivery then Lowe's is perfect for you. read more

When you go to customer service, you sort of expect just that. Customer Service. After a greeter by the door told me that since there aren't any shopping carts available, a Loader can help you carry anything you need to your car. So knowing what I needed, I went to customer service where she (no name tag) said she needed an item ID. Don't know if she lacked the training to look up items in the POS, or if she was just lazy but then I didn't want to argue so I went back to the isle and looked up the item number. When I returned, I gave her the item number (3 bags of cement @ 80lb each). She rung me up and stated that there was one Loader working (on a Sunday) and it'll take a while, "Honestly" she said. There wasn't any indication of a queue or anything. When I told her carts couldn't be found, she couldn't offer me a solution and I know for a fact that it'll cost too much money to have it shipped. I stood there for a solid minute as she looked busy, and then I just walked away. Lowes is the Donald Trump of Stores I ordered a snowblower and was told it would be delivered in two days. Two days went by and no delivery, even though Lowes confirmed that morning delivery on the date it was due. I went on the website and they lied by representing the item as "shipped" when Fed Ex Ground never received the package. They insisted it shipped because they consider it shipped when a shipping label is printed out. No, an item is SHIPPED when their carrier takes possession of the item you order. I contacted their third party vendor and gave them the order and tracking number and low and behold, they told me IT WOULD SHIP IN 1-2 WEEKS. Of course, Lowes had full knowledge of this and simply do not give a rat's ass about their customers. This is how much they give a steaming pile of you know what about their customers....One weekend we went into the store to find that 8 of their employees have the slightest idea that you cover your nose up when wearing a mask. We reported it to management and this is how much they took care of it...We returned the following weekend and 11 people were wearing the masks incorrectly. When we told the manager that she in fact wasn't wearing her mask correctly the previous weekend, she actually called us liars. She went ballistic when I whipped out my cellphone to show her a pic of her not wearing properly the following weekend. I think this is a smaller lows then the one initially across Hamilton Parkway years ago. It was a surprise to find it right down the street from my acupuncturists office so I went ahead to check out their selection of tiny plants. There were so many I almost could not decide what to get. I went to look for soil so I can repot some other plants it is cebes there is a soil shortage because a lot of the specialties soils have a spot on the shelf but are replaced with more general outdoor soil which doesn't suit my needs. No one in the stores seemed to know what was going on with it so I was a little miffed. But I was still able to get 3Q plants and even some gift cards to wrap up my holiday shopping yes I shop for Christmas early. Next time I'm in the neighborhood I'll probably stop by to see if there's anything else I could use. I ordered a very large piece of hardboard online which I went to collect with no car. The piece was larger than I expected making it impossible to transport. Their wood cutter was broken but I found a very friendly and helpful member of staff from the 'Pro desk' who helped me cut the board another way as no smaller sizes were available. Another member of staff also helped me with the cutting so I was very grateful. The value of the board was excellent also. read more

The isles are much bigger and better organized and just so much easier to find, with better explanations of products. Came into this store a few days ago looking for a hard to find tool. I've learned that in these big box stores that the employees are unmotivated to help customers and lack knowledge (a shot at Home Depot). I didn't see the tool that I needed and proceeded to leave the hardware department until "J" came out of nowhere and asked if I found what I needed. When I replied "no" he looked for the tool in the department and when he didn't find it went online to see if there was another way to remedy my "fix it" issue. After that, he took me over to Charles who is very knowledgeable on hardware issues and together we solved my problem. I can't thank J and Charles enough for their efforts. I thought the days of good customer service at big box stores were gone. Because of them, I will bypass Home Depot as a source for my hardware needs. read more

Lowe's definitely lives up to its name with its low quality customer service. When I asked for someone to help me cut the wood, no one showed up after 30 minutes. I proceeded to ask another worker, which referred me to another worker, which had to ask another worker. After waiting for another 30 minutes, they said the machine was broken, and was unable to help me. This may not be their fault, but this was extremely time consuming and the workers were not at helpful as they should have been. Originally I asked one whether or not the wood could be cut, and he just said they couldn't cut the wood at all evidently when they have a wood cutting area. Additionally, I asked for a 4x4 tile which the worker told me was in a different area, which caused me to spend a lot of time looking when it was in a completely different aisle. read more

We had Lowe's install our home central AC in 2017 for about $13 000 using Lennox air units. 6 year later, our AC stopped functioning, we called a Lennox dealer technician to diagnose the problem: he said that there were leaks somewhere on the coils, that it was very difficult to pin point all the leaks and that it was better to replace the whole units instead of just the coil because repairing the coil was like put " a band aid on the problem", that was not fixing the problem. He gave us an estimate for installing which is $15 000. He told us that it was a shame because our units were only 6 years old, he recommended us to contact the contractor who made the installation: Lowe's. I contacted Lowe's executive customer relations and explained her our situation with the AC that they just installed 6 years ago( still under the manufacturers warranty), this is what she wrote to me by email : "Thank you for the opportunity to assist you. Since you are well beyond the one year labor warranty Lowe's provides for installations we would not be able to assist further. This case will be closed. We recommend contacting Lennox at 1-800-953-6669". What a very disappointing answer from a big company like Lowe's! Well the name of the contractor on the contract who installed the AC unit is "Lowe's home improvement Inc", it does not say Lennox , so Lowe's should own it and contact whoever it is necessary to help us, and solve the problem, replace the AC units as recommended by the Lennox AC technicians . You would think that a big company like Lowe's would stand by the product they install, but no they install it and if there is any problems after 1 year, it is your problem, Lowe's should stand by its brand principles This is a scam, We trusted Lowe's and this is what we get. When Lowe's advertise its HVAC unit installation, it says "Lowe's Home Services can make your project dreams a reality", well right now, it's a nightmare for us, we are at home with 2 young children no AC 92 degrees outside, the thermostat shows 97 degrees inside the house after sundown !!!! it's inhuman I would never work with Lowe's anymore and I would never recommend Lowe's to anyone anymore! I'll give them two stars because they're trying and mostly polite. But I'm being generous. Placed an online pickup order (you know, to save time). It took roughly 8 hours for my items to be ready for pickup (even after they were closed for the day...hmmm). So thinking it'll be quick when I arrive I go right to pickup. Sadly I had to wait over 20 minutes as I was shuffled from the pickup dedicated area to customer service. In that timeframe, the Friendly CSR discovered one item was out of stock. It was a generic 2 gang wall plate so if they didn't have the exact one I selected online and paid for it wasn't the end of the world but I still needed it. She asked if I had recd a phone call about it being out - nope. I did get the "it's all ready for pickup" notification though. She went to go find a suitable replacement (this alone took an extra 10 minutes). I most definitely could have found the items I needed and checked out significantly faster than this experience. What a shame as I'm rooting for some brick & mortar stores to stay competitive. Unfortunately Lowe's has many classroom hours left to complete before they actually have a degree in order efficiency. If you value your time and only have a small order I'd recommend doing it yourself and skipping internet order to pickup and you'll feel much less aggravated. And bring your wallet as they don't take Apple Pay. SMH. read more
