Lowe's online ordering is a farce. Do not waste your time or money. They can arbitrarily change the delivery date, and you are better off ordering directly from the manufacturer. You can not cancel the order until they attempt to deliver, hence tying up your money to keep you from going elsewhere. read more

I traveled approx. 75 miles today to get to Lowe's, my intention was to purchase a garage storage cabinet. Once we located them in Aisle 30 there was many to choose from. We were initially greeted by an employee and he did assist with helping get the doors open on one of the display models so I could look inside at the shelving. he offered to assist if I decided to purchase and told me he wouldn't be far away, and he went on his way. after looking over the selection for several minutes I decided to purchase one. I then went on the hunt to find someone to help get the one I wanted to purchase and I was unable to find anyone, so I returned to the cabinets where my wife was waiting for me, she then went in search of someone to help and was able to find three different people who advised they would find someone to help. we did hear an announcement for customer assistance to the storage cabinets. After approx 10 minutes of waiting for someone to show up we decided to leave without making the purchase. this is the first time that I had this experience at this particular Lowes, I also had the same experience at Lowe's in Fernley Nevada about 2 years prior with a different product that required assistance. I am just a small fish in a big pond and the money I was going to spend will not be missed at Lowe's, but you must believe this small fish has a big mouth and I encounter 75-80 people everyday and will be sure to tell this story to anyone that will listen. If I could get away with negative stars I would. I ordered a washer & dryer on Friday. They was supposed to be delivered Sunday. They only dropped off the dryer. They didn't take it out of the box even though I requested it. They left it on my moms porch. Delivery guys asked my mom how much her rings cost??!!!! Now I am worried about them coming back. LOWES HAD NO SOLUTION. Kept delaying the delivery of the washer. I cancelled order. went promptly to Home Depot. Had no problem. Washer and dryer at my mom's house same day. I heard every excuse from Lowes. "Oh its a 3rd party delivery service". NOT ACCEPTABLE!! Then trying to get a manager on the phone on Sunday when the delivery happened. NOT POSSIBLE! phone transferred, never spoke to a manager!!! Had to go into the store and then spoke with a RUDE, OBNOXIOUS manager BRANDY. definitely needs to look at taking classes when it comes to dealing with customers who have concerns over their customers senior parents. Ordered a washer online on Friday, that was available for pickup or delivery on Sunday Morning. On Sunday I checked the delivery status, and saw that it was going to be Monday from 8-8!! What! No call, no email... just changed it! Called customer service, was told it would be Monday for sure, but no time commitment. Got a call on Monday, saying it was going to be Wed. form 8-8!! What!!!! DO NOT USE LOWE'S!!!!! If there were negative stars available I would give as many as I could!! Today is October 4th. On July 15 I ordered replacement skylight blinds. All of our window blinds were originally from Lowe's and have been great. It is now October 4 and my last communication from them is that the person should be back on October 11. First Lowe's ordered the wrong type of shade--regular shades instead of skylight. Then it took forever for those wrong shades to arrive. Then one of them was installed before the installer realized it wasn't a skylight shade, so I ended up on an extension ladder nailing it shut after he left because it wouldn't stay closed. Then the "correct" shades were ordered. Three weeks later they arrived but no one told the installer (Rayline, which Lowe's contracts installations to) that they were there. Then the installer had a flat tire. Then the rescheduled installer didn't show up--on that occasion I was lied to all afternoon that he would eventually appear, but no such luck. Then they sent a very nice guy who had never installed this type of blind before. He got it up after about 2 hours but didn't even want to try to install the other one. Now another person is supposed to appear on OCTOBER 11TH, BETWEEN 9 AND 1. In addition, when the blind is closed (which is an adventure since it is so tight that the handle has already broken off) light leaks in on both sides, directly in the sight line of our bed. I talked to a representative at Springs Window Fashions, who makes Bali blinds, and was told that no, this is not normal, just so that I I would have backup on the fact that apparently they were measured wrong to start with. This began on JULY 15th!!!!!! These things have been paid for!! I will never, in this or any other lifetime, order anything from Lowe's again. I went into Lowes today to buy some LEVOLOR Trim+Go Cordless Cellular Shades. I had the measurements for 6 windows, but no one was working in the blinds and windows department. I saw a young lady by the name of Astra working in the flooring department and asked if she could cut some shades I needed to purchase. Even though Astra was working the flooring department, she was more than happy to cut and trim the cellular shades I wanted to purchase. She cut all (6) shades exactly to the measurements I specified and they were a perfect fit for my windows. Very happy customer! read more

Called delivery manager (women) who was extremely rude and wasn't too concerned about the inconvenience of waiting an entire day only to be told that "maybe" they could deliver it in two days but she could not tell us until maybe tomorrow???? Bought a new refrigerator her a few weeks back. Scheduled the delivery. Delivery day came around and about 15 minutes before the window for delivery i get a call saying not happening today. 1 day of changing my schedule, taking time off. Scheduled day for delivery, again, day 2 of changing my schedule. Delivery shows up, unwraps, discover a beautiful dent in the front door. Drive says he will notify his manager and schedule an exchange. That didn't happen. Called for two straight days trying to speak to appliances. They are short staffed and cannot answer calls. Requested a manager and got Samantha. I could hear the RBF over the phone. I'm sure she has other things to do. But so do i and as i paid you for a product is kinda your job to deliver it. The replacement will have to be ordered. Be here in 4to 10 days. Called again after a week to inquire about status. Appliances are still short staffed and can't answer the phone or return calls. After 2 days of trying i asked for a manager. Bless me there was Samantha again. After checking inventories she advised the refrigerator was in stock, conveniently, delivery to my area was the next day, i would recieve a call for the time window of delivery. So i changed my schedule, again (3rd times a charm right?). And no call about a delivery. Don't know if delivery will happen today, next week, next month, ........... Save the energy. My refrigerator died and I was an urgent need of a replacement. I called the store early Saturday morning and spoke with Misty. She told me what was in stock and said if I could get there before 2 o'clock she could get it installed the next day! I went to the store and Misty help me pick a replacement refrigerator that fit my budget and my needs. She was very knowledgeable, patient and understanding. Today, Sunday, my refrigerator arrived! The two installers were on time, very professional and efficient. It took less than an hour to remove the old, dead refrigerator and install the new one. They went over the operating instructions with me and gave me a few tips. The entire experience was as smooth and easy as purchasing a major appliance could be! read more

This place is laughable. My grandparents waited over three weeks to have their new floor installed due to the mistakes the installation department made. The first mistake was because the installation department "forgot" to mark the items in the order as filled. This resulted in the installation being set back another week. The second mistake was due to the installation department forgetting to double check the items on the order! My poor grandparents now have to wait an additional 3 weeks because of a "custom color" issue. If you want competent, customer service orientated individuals do not go here. read more

I am consistently satisfied when I shop at lowes. I have noticed that many times Lowes has things on stock that home depot doesn't which was the main reason I keep coming back but as of today, I will now come back for the friendly employees as well. I came in this afternoon to purchase ten bags of rock. I found them and then struggled loading them all into my cart by myself. I then had an associate approach me, I believe his name was Jason. He asked if I needed help. Loaded all of the bags for me. Pushed the cart, waited for me while I paid and then when I pulled my car around front, he loaded all the bags for me. He even taped one up that has a hole in it. He was so sweet and respectful and treated me the way everyone expects to be greeted and treated while spending good money at an establishment! We would give them 0 stars if we could. My Wife and I looked into several flooring specialists in Reno for our house in Tahoe City. My wife found a floor product and color we liked at Lowes in Reno, so we ordered it. This happened the 1st week in November of 2022. They promised us we would have it in before Thanksgiving. We never heard from the salesman again after paying for the order. There were many excuses for not being able to get the product before Thanksgiving including blaming the manufacturer. After contacting several departments, they GUARANTEED us they would get it in before Christmas (we were planning for several visits by family and friends during Christmas week. Once again we got several excuses form EVERYONE, including Store manager, Installers etc... Well to make a long story even longer, It is now April 26th 2023, and the job is still not complete. They have installed 3/4 of the floor, and left us with 1/4 undone, and still haven't even started the detail work. Once again many excuses. LOWES BASICALLY TOOK OUR MONEY AND HAVE GIVEN US THE RUN-AROUND FOR 6 MONTHS. THIS HAS BEEN ONE OF THE WORST EXPERIENCES WE HAVE EVER DEALT WITH FROM ANY COMPANY. DO NOT USE LOWES! But, for those times when either HD doesn't have something, or we're conveniently passing Lowe's when we're struck with an idea that needs a home improvement solution, Lowe's fills the bill. In fact, I have NOTHING against Lowe's. It's just that 'our' Home Depot is almost walking distance so that's where we go. Terrible customer service. I've placed two on line orders for pick up in the Carson City store in the past. In both cases, the product sat there without them notifying me. I had to call the store to find out the product was there. When you go to pick up, the two guys handling on line orders are straight out of "Dumb and Dumber". ANOTHERZERO STAR FOR APPLIANCE DELIVERY I purchased a refrigerator with free delivery and haul away old fridge service. Got an automated call indicating the delivery was scheduled the following day between 2:30 and 6:30pm. When the truck hadn't arrived after 6:30, I called the store and after 30 minutes was told I was the next stop. After another 90 minutes awaiting the truck, no delivery. I recalled the store only to be told apparently my stop had been skipped and that they could reschedule the following week. WHAT? Unacceptable. Got a manager who claimed he pulled some strings to get it scheduled 2 days later, which it was. Suppose to arrive between 8am and 12 noon. You guessed it, no delivery. I called the store and was told they didnt have room for my fridge on the truck so it wasn't loaded for delivery. WHAT? Inquired why I wasn't notified and they had no answer. Also inquired when I might get it delivered and again no answer. So I called and requested to speak to the store manager - Mr. Daniel Goff. Of course he was unavailable but would call me back. HE NEVER DID. I waited to 7pm that night to see if it would be scheduled for delivery the following day, but never heard from anyone. I again, called the store and spoke with a manager, who advised it was not scheduled for delivery at that time. So after waisting 10+ hours of my time waiting for this delivery, I made arraignments to go pick it up myself, as well as had to dispose of my old fridge myself after paying for them to haul it away. WAS NOT A HAPPY CAMPER ......but I guess my only recourse is to shop elsewhere, which is what I intend to do. I did write a letter to Mr. Goff but have not received a response from him. read more

After receiving an email that my order was ready for pickup, I drove to the store and followed directions to have my order brought to my car. No one came. No one answered the phone, either. I went to the customer service desk and realized the issue. Employees take care of people at the desk in person before they answer the phone. The line does not end, so the phone never gets answered. If you plan to pick up curbside, don't follow their written directions. Go straight to customer service and wait in that line. It's the only way you will get your order. read more

We do business w Lowe's across 3 states for our homes... lots of business. Customer service is grossly lacking in Carson City. The general store manager has good service personally but is failing in delegating his expectations in this regard. 1) their customer service number is not generally promptly answered and when answered quick to pass you off to another Dept (eg Appliances) where literally no one answers. 2) some employees do not wear a mask over their mouth and nose. The "chin" sling demonstrates gross ineptness in understanding air borne pandemics! Hmmm 3) their computer systems and employee training are a serious issue hurting their customer satisfaction. Example: appliance Dept tells us to go to customer service in 30 min and our new appliance will be waiting there. Reality: customer service tries to pull our order up for 15 min 3 diff employees (and the appliance loader guy is waiting patiently w our appliance w our name on his paper list whilst the 3 employees fiddle around trying to find it in their system! This was not an online order. 4) online ordering system and in store receiving are not consolidated systems. So if you try to go in store w a question good luck!! read more

This location is the worst! Every time I've gone in there I've waited forever to get help from people who seem annoyed to be there. Recently I thought I'd try the online order and pickup service. The ladies behind the desk were not at all friendly and again had that annoyed air about them. When I asked for help out with my heavy items- that being the reason I ordered online to avoid lugging these things to a cart and then pushing them to a cashier - they acted like that was a huge inconvenience. When they finally found someone to help me, that person complained that these things were soooo heavy. That's why I needed help! I don't know if there's just bad vibes at this location or if all Lowe's locations are this bad. Maybe everyone is underpaid and overworked ....just like the majority of all workers everywhere, but it would behoove the management to encourage cheerful customer service lest they lose customers. Over ten tears ago, I worked at Lowe's during which time our store received store of the year. Customer service was #1 and our customers were very loyal, but you won't find it here. This store has very few employees on the floor, long wait times and the lack of product knowledge reigns supreme. Associates gather around in coffee clutches instead of being out helping customers. The few qualified employees are running around like mad and are rude or abrupt because they are overwhelmed by the lack of support from management. Even if the employees wanted to provide excellent customer service, they are incapable of doing so because of understaffing and poor training from management. Corporate is running these stores into the ground by cutting labor and focusing on the wrong metrics so they can report excellent quarter numbers while failing to recognize that customers don't return when they can't find help. In the short term, stock will look good, but long term Lowe's HIW will continue to suffer. Dissapointing. read more

Bought a washer and dryer there and it was a big mess. All kinds of miscommunication, incorrect and conflicting information. They were all earnest, but it was a disaster. I stuck with it and finally paid for the products ($2,000) and got them delivered and installed. I left the house for six weeks and when I got back I couldn't figure out how to use the washer. Turns out, it is missing the labels on one side of the dials! When I contacted Lowes they tell me that since it's past 30 days it's not their problem: Contact the manufacturer. Thanks for nothing. So now I'm spending hours trying to get a hold of Maytag to get something done. I'm on hold with them now, so I have plenty of time to write a Yelp. Went in to finish my lease to own application. I was approved and the money came out of my account. When I went into Lowes, not one single employee knew how to find my order and set up a delivery and set up date. My husband had to assist the associate as he didnt know how to use his computer. We spent an hour trying to get the Manager Sarah and Byron to come over and assist Dan the associate and us. Neither of them tried to come over or help their employee. We were completely shocked at the lack of training and customer service. I dont recommend coming into Lowes. You are better off going to Home Depot. I worked with the manufacturer who contacted Carson City Lowes and arranged to have a new one delivered in a week. It never showed up. When it didn't arrive, I called the manufactuer. They contacted Lowes who said the refrigerator had been deliverd. I decided to deal directly with the Carson City Lowes. After NINE months, EIGHT scheduled deliveries (mostly no shows--one unscheduled delivery did show up with a refrigerator that had a hole in the door), and many, many calls to the Lowes corporate office, I did finally received my refrigerator--a surprise as no delivery had been scheduled. Carson City Lowes is a disorganized mess due to lack of leadership. Calls go unanswered. When you do get through to someone, they can't help but will pass your phone number to someone who won't call back. The manager is never in. Sales clerks can't locate instock items. Nobody knows why items are not delivered as scheduled. This is a continuing pattern. I don't know why Lowes condones the behavior of Daniel Goff. Most reputable companies would find his conduct deplorable and take action. First of all, I don't blame the employees. Those poor souls are on a wartime footing. They are woefully understaffed. Everyone is overwhelmed with an avalanche of demands that are impossible to keep up with. We received a call the blinds we ordered had arrived and to pick them up at our convenience. We arrived at the customer service desk, joining a group of other customers whose facial expressions reflected anger, desperation, and bewilderment. We soon found out why. The two harried employees at customer service were doing what should have been the work of five. Their intercom calls for assistance went unheeded, suggesting similar understaffing elsewhere. In addition, they had to answer phones and direct calls while juggling the needs of in person customers. We told the customer service employee why we were there. She could not get anyone to respond to her calls for someone retrieve our products. After several minutes, she conscripted a passing employee who clearly did not regularly perform that duty, explaining she desperately needed him to go in back and retrieve orders for customers waiting to pick up items. 45 minutes later, we were still waiting and had to leave the store empty handed so we wouldn't be late picking up our son from preschool. Back when we ordered the blinds in the first place, that process also took an insanely long time due to the fact a single employee had to manage the entire area by herself. While we attempted to discuss options, she had to stop multiple times and answer intercom calls and random phone callers. She would look up information for them on her computer or flip through catalogues to answer their questions, then return to us. Each unscheduled phone conversation averaged about 5 minutes. What should have taken 15 or 20 minutes took an hour. Putting face to face in-store customers "on hold" to prioritize unscheduled call ins is terrible customer service. Again, its not her fault. Like us, she's the victim of bad company policy that evidently maximizes executive compensation by limping along with a skeleton crew of front line employees. In the beginning of my journey ordering kitchen cabinets at Lowes in Carson City Nevada over a year ago, the order was incorrect and the person doing the measuring (Sam, since fired) was off on my entire kitchen by nine inches. When I addressed her about it she claimed nine inches off was nothing. That would have given me a cabinet covering a quarter of my window. Going on over a year now, I still do not have all of my kitchen cabinets. I have an unfinished kitchen with a hack named Colton that came to install the ones that had been delivered. He butchered them so badly they had to be removed, reordered and replaced. I spent $12k and nothing to show for it but a mess and no complete kitchen. When ordered, the wrong drawer fronts came and had to order the correct ones (they are still not here). I am now floating in the abyss with no one answering me, returning my messages, excuse's when I go into the store in person. I do not recommend Lowes for anything. I am leaving one star because I am unable to leave zero stars. Beware anyone going to Lowes for custom blinds. I ordered custom blinds the beginning of July and have been jerked around for months. I had 2 different men come measure my windows FOUR different times only to have templates lost, and templates never turned in weeks after last measurement. No one ever called me to follow up. I had to keep calling to ask what the status of my order was. So difficult to reach anyone. The woman who works in blinds was rude and Daniel the MANAGER promised me after the 3rd screw up he would personally see that everything went smoothly.... He never followed up and my order sat in limbo another 4 weeks after our conversation. Horrible follow through and management. I eventually after FIVE months asked for a refund for the blinds. It's evident that there has been an employee shortage at this location which ultimately hurts the customer experience. Lowe's continues to restructure, even during covid, which has been one of the busiest times in home improvement history. When Lowe's squeezes every bit of productivity out of the handful of employees they have left, everyone is disappointed and stressed. Terrible service here. Was looking for gas line and there was no one around plumbing area or any other isle around me. Found an employee in electrical and asked if he knew where a particular gas line was and his response was if it's not there they don't carry it, he then walked off. Useless and rude. Home Depot is much better than this place. On my way out at the register an older man in his 80's in a wheelchair was checking out and asked for a veteran discount, and gave his phone number as he had registered it with his proof of being a veteran and the clerk told him he now also required documented proof of being a veteran. The gentleman was having a hard time finding his proof in his wallet so the clerk refused to give him any discount. Would not have happened at Home Depot, they are much more courteous! So I went into the Carson City Lowes back in March. Was looking for some new flooring for the first floor of my home. It was about 800 square feet of lamenite that I was looking for. Ran into an employee who I used to acquainted with but he had more interest in criticizing my lifestyle than helping me pick out flooring. When I tried to walk away, he followed me and made the comment, "I bet you wish I would quit following you around the store". I decided to drive to Floor and Decor in Reno and purchased my three thousand dollars worth of flooring there instead. So my flooring came in last week and I've got friends coming over to help me with the install. I need to get floorboards and I'm thinking, how bad could it be...he's probably off anyway. So I drive up to Lowes Carson City and I'm there about ten minutes and trying to get some help. I push the "Need Assistance" button which should have probably been labeled "Why bother" Button didn't work anyway. So I walk up to the front of the store and ask an employee if I can get some help. He said, he would page someone. Fifteen minutes later...nothing. I walk up to customer service and ask for the manager. She's an assistant manager and she says she will get someone back there right away. Ten minutes later...nothing. I find another employee and he realizes that I'm getting a little upset. He says, it's not his department, but he will go find someone. Nothing. So I walk back up to customer service to talk to the manager again to tell her that I'll be closing my Lowe's credit card and when she sees me, she tries to go the other way. Since she was walking away, I simply spoke loud enough for anyone within 50 yards to tell her how upset I was that they wasted 40 minutes of my life waiting for help that was never going to come. She said she was going to get someone back there right then, but at that point...no one in that store would have wanted to talk to me. Home Depot it is. That makes about $4,000 that walked right out the door at this store. Nobody is perfect, but please make an effort and quit making excuses. read more

Whenever I go into Lowe's when they're close to closing I feel like everyone's watching me. Looking at me like I'm going to steal something and it bothers me. Last night September 17th at about 9 p.m. I got some help from the paint supervisor who is amazing. He didn't treat me like I was a theif. About 25 miles from our place in South Lake Tahoe...great to have nearby when you need something the smaller local hardware stores don't carry. As an added bonus gas was super cheap in Carson City compared to Tahoe ($4.11 when it was $4.69)...made the drive even more worth-it. Unfortunately, the customer service here was not stellar. Perhaps it was because it was the 4th of July close to opening. Employees were annoyed when we asked to have help loading 18 sheets of hardi-backer and would only put it on a cart. Our local Lowe's would have put it on a fork-lift and brought it out to the car. read more
