The charging cable is more heavy-duty, thicker; it's black, wrapped with the same material as an industrial, extension cord verses the charging cable I lost was wrapped in some sort of corded, cotton cloth, flimsy material. Moreover, I can never find a ten-foot lightning charging cable in Placerville, Sacramento, Roseville, Rancho Cordova or any of the Bay Area Big Lots Stores: Oddly, this Big Lots Store has a plethora of items I have YET seen in other Big Lots Stores' inventory.

When we unboxed the mattress and let it inflate it was not the firm mattress we had wanted. We waited days for it to inflate but to no avail. Upon further inspection it looks as though someone just shoved some cheap foam in a cloth like wrapper with a cheap 2 in topper over it! This lady who calls herself NILA GARLET along with five other aliases would not lift her finger to honor implied warranty and make things right. I am now stuck with a useless mattress. Every time she gets a bad review she deletes her post and repost them again. You can find her on marketplace / Facebook. 9 years she's been doing this and how do you only have 13 reviews. She has people post fake reviews in order to offset the bad reviews. I trusted this lady with my hard-earned money only to get screwed.

I feel it's very important to buy locally in our community. I have purchased several items from this furniture store over the years and they have always been great but now I am having an issue with the top layer of a dinning table bubbling and flaking off. I have had the table less than a year and was told I had a 1 year manufacturing warranty. I called an spoke with Steve the general manager and he said he would come out and look at. He came out and agreed the tables top coat was indeed bubbling and flaking off and he also pointed out a crack running across the table. He took pictures and said he would email the manufacturer and ask for replacement and he would call me when he had an answer. Two weeks had pasted so I called on Wednesday to get an answer, which I had to leave a message. Steve then called me back on Thursday and said yes I got a response from the manufacturer and I want to read you the email they sent me so there is no confusion. He started reading the email and basically the manufacturer states that they will not offer any replacement due to customer abuse and it is something I have done to create the issue with the table. This table has been eaten on ONCE as it sits in the formal dinning area. Other than that it get no use out of it. It's bubbling, cracking, and flaking off in so many places. This is nothing I have done to the table. I am not happy and I will never purchase another item from this company unless someone steps up and does the right thing. I have been a loyal returning customer and I guess that mean nothing these days. read more

After reading several reviews, I find myself questioning what went wrong with my experience at JM Furniture. My wife and I visited on a Tuesday, in search of new living room furniture, including recliners, couches, and end tables. When we entered, the store was empty, and my wife had to approach the desk to ask if anyone could assist us. After a moment, a saleswoman finally came over, but when I asked a question about their Flexsteel recliners, I could almost hear her sigh in response. She proceeded to show us the recliners, but when I inquired about the difference between Flexsteel and La-Z-Boy, her answer was less than helpful. She merely leaned back in one chair, pointed, and said, "That's the difference." After that, I didn't ask any further questions. My wife was then interested in a couch and love seat, and the saleswoman pointed out a few options that caught our attention. However, after this brief interaction, she left us to wander on our own. We eventually made our way back to the front of the store, only to find her back at the desk. We thanked her for the minimal help she had provided and left. Later, we visited Carson Home Furnishings, where we had a completely different experience. Although we ended up spending more than we initially planned, the service was outstanding. The saleswoman was attentive, informative, and stayed with us throughout the entire process. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend skipping JM Furniture and heading straight to Carson Home Furnishings for a much more enjoyable shopping experience. read more

My wife Liza and I want to give a heart felt thank you to Ann in sales, and the entire staff at JM. I've been in a stage 4 cancer battle over 7 years. My C7 in my neck is a huge problem to find the right chair. I went to a few stores testing chairs for a over a week. I settled on one with all the bells and whistles that felt perfect for me. Well after 3 days it turned out to be the wrong choice, and was killing my neck. I knew going on that there are no returns, and thought I just wasted $1300. I went in and asked them if there was any way I could exchange it for another I was also looking at, even if I lost a couple hundred dollars. Ann said let me see what I can do, and went and talked to the manager. They ended up delivering the chair, and picking up the other free of charge since they knew my situation. The delivery guys are also really nice and caring. I even got a $107 refund. JM also does in home warranty work and repairs. Thank you Ann and everyone else at JM. The sales staff greet you when you come in, answer any questions you have, but then they leave you alone to look. When you need 'em again to answer questions, they're attentive and quick. SO much better than the big stores in Reno where the sales staff stalk you all over the floor. Thank you to Janet for making the buying experience a pleasure. Their selection is great! Prices were good, quality is very good too. Delivery to my home in Reno was arranged (Had two deliveries made) and each time I was contacted the day before scheduled delivery and a two hour window was confirmed. Guess what? Both times the delivery was made in the given time slots. That's another thing the big stores don't get right. The delivery people were excellent. Very courteous, polite and careful with not just the furniture, but with the house too. Thank you to Ernesto and David for their on-time, professional and courteous deliveries. When we moved to the area 6 years ago we shopped around for some new furniture. Our search ended at JM Furniture on North Carson Street. They have a large showroom and inventory and we bought two recliner chairs, double desk, two large TV Cabinets and a filing cabinet. More recently we needed two bedside tables and we returned to JM Furniture but did not find exactly what we needed. The salesperson suggested we visit their other store on South Carson Street as they carried a different inventory. The South Carson store is not near as large but did have different inventory and we purchased two beautiful bedside tables and also two lamps. We found the service and employees at both stores very professional and helpful but not pushy and will return when we need something new. Highly Recommend!!! read more

I ordered a queen size adjustable bed which was delivered today. I have had many things delivered but the delivery men today, Brian and Gerson, were two of the nicest and most conscientious I have ever met. They were careful of my furniture and took away all the garbage. They were also careful to explain the paperwork and what to do if I have a problem. I hope the mattress is as good as the service which I am sure it will be. Your salesman Trent was also very nice and helpful when I was in the store and I appreciate the help getting the bed purchased and delivered without my having to make another 60 mile trip to the store. I ordered a mattress which was lost by the shipping company then found after two weeks, shipped to Reno then shipped back to the warehouse in Washington. After three weeks J&M gave up on the shipping company and replaced the mattress with one that far exceeded my expectations plus added 2 pillows. J&M always kept in contact with me through the whole process and accepted responsibility for the shipping company. I have been in the furniture repair business for 40 plus years and have always recommended J&M for their business ethics but this time they really out did themselves. i was told my delivery date was for the 5th and I pay $250.00 to have my old furniture haul away that morning,only to be told that no paper work had been turn in and they could not delivery until 5 days later and nothing they could do. So I have nothing to sit on for 5days. Very upsetting for me and stressful. I am 70 years old with a bad back and stilling up on a hard chair from the dinning room chair. Nor comfortable at all. Very happy with experience at JM Furniture! We were shopping for a quality made, power reclining loveseat. We purchased a 'Made in the USA' loveseat, 2 swivel club chairs, and a reclining mission style chair to complete the ensemble. Ann was very helpful and knowledgeable. Delivery was prompt and efficient. My husband and I both thought is was crazy that the truck didn't have a lift-gate; our furniture was heavy and bulky. JM furniture is a wonderful, relaxing place to shop for furniture and accessories. They have quality items that are beautiful and comfortable. The staff is so helpful, without stalking you like some big Reno stores (the ones where a half a dozen different sales people keep asking if they can help you even after repeatedly saying no thank you). The JM guys let us walk around until we were ready to ask some questions. They were great help in choosing some recliner chairs that are a much better fit for us than our last set. Wow, I can't say enough about this store. My wife and I went in for a new mattress. They have a fantastic selection with a good variety of price ranges. Our sales person, Janet, was a great help with picking it out. She was patient (we took quite a long time choosing), knowledgeable and asked a lot of questions. She also showed us an adjustable base and we were instantly sold! She gave us sale prices on both and they delivered the next day! The delivery drivers were great. I bought a new sofa (not delivered yet) and two side chairs for living room, (delivered yesterday). Trent was very helpful in the process as I could not find 2 side chairs that matched that I liked that were not discontinued in Carson or Reno. I went back to JM and Trent was right there again helping me with swatches and being very patient with me. I finally decided on a fabric, chairs came yesterday and they are beautiful! We purchased a sofa from JM Furniture. After a bit, we noticed a small hole on the cloth foot rest (caused by how I put my shoe on the edges - I no longer do that :-)).
