Lowe's hired a subcontractor who hired another contractor. The secondary subcontractor installed my dryer which has the steam dryer water valve. They did not tighten the water valve. It dripped for over a month into the hardwood flooring and into my bathroom ceiling below. The secondary did not have the proper insurance to even be installing the dryer. Lowes blew me off and I could not actually get a response back. Once they did, they connected me with the wrong primary subcontractor. CRST, NOT Merck. Now CRST Liberty Mutual, their insurance wants to pay the least amount to fix all of the damage. This has been going on for almost a year. No one wants to take full accountability and fix the problem that was created by all of them! LOWES, CRST and Liberty Mutual. I want my home to be back as while before this mess started. read more

One thing I can say about Lowe's They focus more on their badges that are on their vest. They don't much care for the customer and if I get asked, about another credit card next time I go there I'm gonna scream. If I wanted one I would apply. I call this place Loathe's because that's what I feel when I need to go there. Where I used to live Lowe's was great, the service was fantastic and it was my go-to place for home repair needs. This location, however, is the last place I ever want to go. I can never find anyone to help me. When I can track someone down, I often have to explain to them what I'm looking for, what it does, what it looks like, and a picture from Amazon, then tell them it's okay I'll look for it myself right before I leave to go somewhere else. Today I had to find U-bolts, I took a guess and went down the hardware aisle. In the middle of the aisle was a giant staircase, not off to the side, not roped off, right in the middle of the aisle. I sidled around it and finally found the one drawer that had U-bolts, they were randomly thrown in the bin and I found something similar to what I was looking for. I brought them home and tried them out. I had to open both of them to try them out, and they didn't work, so back I went. When I went to return them the clerk looked at them and asked why I opened one of them, I said, "That's how I found out it didn't work." She asked why they were both open, I said, "That's how I found out they both didn't work." She literally scoffed and said, "Whatever.." under her breath. How would I possibly know if they worked or not without trying them? I'm going to find somewhere local and start going there, I don't know why I haven't done this already. I encourage everyone else to do the same. Edit: I forgot to talk about the self checkout where they have three people standing around, of course this is *much* better than actually opening registers and interacting with people. read more

The employees at the store have absolutely NO knowledge of their products. Te cashiers and customer service employees are worse. They screw up when they ring up pricey items (I e. Appliances) and make you stand around for 2 hours, while they make an even bigger mess DO NOT ( and I repeat) DO NOT call their "outsourced" customer service 800 number!!!! My brother purchased a snow blower from Lowe's in Davenport, Iowa. It was delivered on December 27, 2024. My brother was found dead on January 21, 2025. We contacted Lowe's to return the snow blower as it had not been used and was not needed. In fact, the snow blower was in the same condition that it was in when it was delivered - delivery instruction sheet was still attached. Lowe's would not let us return the machine because it was past the 30 day return policy that they have for this equipment. We contacted Lowe's headquarters and the associate gave me the same information that it was past the 30 days. It is too bad that Lowe's is so rigid in following their policies that the death of their customer and the inability of the family to meet their 30 day time frame does not warrant an exception to their policy. read more

I went to the store to buy carpet and install. In store It took them 3 times to get the carpet figured out, kept pulling down different ones. She couldn't figure out what carpet I chose. Then she gave me a wrong quote. She told me it would be in in 5 days. I get a call stating they had a cancellation and they would fit me in tomorrow so we cleared all the rooms. I THEN get a call that they can't come tomorrow and now I am being pushed out another 2 weeks. I HAVE A 3 YEAR OLD AND 5 YEAR OLD WITH ALL OUR BEDS IN OUR LIVING ROOM. I have had to call MULTIPLE times to even any info and EVERYONE knows NOTHING. One lady was extra rude and acted like she could care less. This customer service has been the WORST I have ever experienced- I will be cancelling my Lowe's card, and doing all my shopping at Home Depot where at least they care. I'll be sure to let everyone know to NOT USE LOWES for ANY carpet install needs as they do not communicate internally and then when they do make an error they cannot do ANYTHING to make it right. THE ONLY person who seemed to care was Delores but unfortunately all of her promises seem to be empty. Absolutely ridiculous, maybe one day I'll get my carpet and my kids can actually get their rooms back. That is to be determined at this point. read more

We wanted a good second refigerator/freezer and bought the Fridgidaire 18.3 (LFTR1835VF6) on May 10, 2023. It worked fine for 6 weeks then the freezer started frosting up. I installed a wireless thermometer in the unit and it runs from -20 to -38 no matter what you set the thermostat at. We have unplugged the unit for several hours and that works for a day then it goes back to arctic mode. We called the service company and the rep came and said "It's not supposed to do that, I'll have to order a part". That was 10 days ago. Now the fridge has stopped cooling below 50. This location is a joke! I came in needing 3 items from the flooring department. I saw an employee and asked her about the items I needed. Her reply, "This isn't my department." I asked her if she could help me locate someone to help. She used her radio to contact an employee, walked up to me and asked, "What do you need?" She just told me it was not her department. I told her what I was looking for. She replied, "We don't have anything like that." I asked her to check with someone from the department. She gets back on her radio to the man behind the curtain (Wizard of Oz), explained incorrectly what I needed. She again tells me, "We don't have anything like that, he's the department manager, he would know." I had been told by a contractor that they have the item there. I told her that. She became defensive and once again stated, "That was the department manager, he would know." I even asked her if something like that might be in another department. She again...you know. I just walked out! When I arrived home, I went to their web site and guess what? The item was there! It gave me the aisle, bin number and how many were available! And....It was in the flooring department! What terrible customer service! She was not a happy employee. If you dislike your job and people, find a position where you do not have customer contact. was in today to pick up cabinet zi ordered - it was just as described online and Chris & Kyle as well as the woman at counter were all very helpful getting our item quickly and loading it in the car. The only bad part was there was a slightly broken part on top and Zi pointed it out to them. They said yes they had seen it? but had picked us out the best of three they had in stock - the other two were worse. z however nice that sounded it was still chipped and no discount was offered for the defect or possible a delay to re-order it if we would rather not take that one. I asked if they had this certain byfold corner cabinet hinge as this on is broken. Assistant replied that he had no idea!! I asked who could tell me. Assistant said she was off today. I looked myself but there was a very small assortment and nothing that would work for me. Very disappointed in the knowledgeable service and their advertising of being one of the Q.C. largest assortment of hinges when they are not even close. Judging by the number of one stars, the lack of customer service seems to be a common problem. On two occasions I have been treated rudely or not at all by employees. I believe it's partially based on racial bigotry. The first time was on a Friday night. I figured it wouldn't be busy and I could get in and out quickly. I needed some blinds custom cut. I went to the aisle and stood there for at least 10 minutes and not an employee in sight. I left because there was literally no employees available. The second time I went was during the day. I figured there would be more employees available. I stood in the aisle, and again not a single employee said, "can I help you." When I did find an employee, she was rude and told me she couldn't help me even though she was clearly not doing anything. What gets me, is that there was another employee beside her, helping a white woman. It takes two people to help one person?!!! But I guess white privilege, right. I left and found another employee. When I walked by the original employee I asked, she was just hanging out with two other employees not doing anything. Lazy. read more

I bought an Amana washer from Lowe's along with an extended warranty totaling One Thousand Dollars . The Amana washer worked one week. The extended warranty can not schedule me for one month, and the warranty company told me to go tell someone how cares. The service in this place is very uneven across the business floor. The appliance department is nonfunctional, seldom manned, and if manned usually by an idiot. I am surprised the appliance section clerks can even tell the difference between a refrigerator and a stove. I went to purchase a refrigerator On a recent visit, of course after conducting considerable web research, since I knew the appliance clerk would be of little assistance, I would not even find a clerk after pushing the help button twice. I left frustrated and went to Best Buy and got immediately waited on and bought the fridge. Lowe's could take some lessons fro K&K Hardware - a place where the clerk can tell the difference between a nail and a screw. I think that nails it. read more

Went in to look at grills one day and decided not to get one that night, when we went out to our car it wouldn't start. Thomas one of the workers noticed and went OUT OF HIS WAY, to come help us. He used his OWN car to try to jump us, after that didn't work he tried to get more people involved to help and we ended up buying a fuse to fix our car. He's a great young man and deserves a raise! I purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator, LGHT2046QF, and the 3-yr extended warranty for a total price of $1147.03, July 2016 at Lowe's, Davenport IA. It ran fine for the first 2 1/2 years, but then required repeated manual defrosting due to icing in the freezer that caused the lower fridge to get warm- every 2 weeks at first, then every 2 days, and then came the chemical odor, weak at first, then reeked so bad I had to scoot it outside and dispose dispose all the food (about $400 worth). My poor spaniel had vomited and couldn't breathe. I was nauseous, had a headache, sore throat and lungs, and my son has been sick with sinus congestion as well. My taste buds are still not right. Repairmen had serviced it twice prior to the leakage detection, but only made minor adjustments and defrosted the freezer. My 3 year extended warranty expires this July and Lowe's has refused to honor the warranty at this point because the fridge was placed next to the stove (same spot prior fridges sat since the 1950s, none of which died before 3 years).When Lowe's accepted my payment for this purchase, they did not advise me that their warranty would not be honored if the fridge was placed next to a stove, nor did the deliverymen advise me the warranty would not be honored when THEY PLACED IT NEXT TO MY STOVE. Traveled over an hour to check out the big box stores for our complete bathroom remodel ... vanity, vanity top, faucets, lights, floor & wall tiles. Spoke with one guy who sent us to another guy, who couldn't answer our questions. Neither would direct their answers to me, rather they spoke to my husband, even when I asked the questions. Horrible service. Two different scenarios, same horrible result. Bought a dryer and bought the warranty. 2.5 years later it has issues, called to get it scheduled and they scheduled 14 days out (The max guaranteed with the warranty). Fast forward to the 14th day where I take the day off and wait only to find out at noon that the tech called in sick and they have to reschedule. Took them 4 hours to figure that out? Reschedule another 2 weeks out? Ugh. And my $50 they owe me for not fixing in 14 days, well, still waiting for my callback on that one. Now on to my fence gate. A full size 6'x6' fence gate that was delivered to the store over a month ago, but they can't find it. I have called 10 times, and got the run around multiple times, with promises of call backs, promises, of which I am still waiting on. Still no reorder, still no credit, still no call back. And I have probably wasted over 6 hours on hold waiting for someone to give me the run around and promise a call back. Sadly, I don't think I will ever go back to Lowes as their service is horrible in store, with warranty, and lack of management support. Failed on all fronts. read more

Lowe's in general is a complete nightmare. We ordered a fridge and new stove and wanted it delivered. Lowe's said ok we will have it delivered on Tuesday between 2pm-6pm. Fine no problem we said. Tuesday 930pm comes around and nothing, no call no nothing. The driver cancelled and took things back to store without telling us. We called Wednesday morning and no one could find order through address, 3 phone numbers nada!! So they finally find it after 3 hrs on phone with complete idiots. Oh sorry we cant get you on schedule now until Friday. This company is a complete joke and i will never be purchasing anything from Lowes again. read more

I have been a loyal Lowes Customer for many years. I have a Lowes credit card with a high limit to prove it. I have done a few house flips and have always used Lowes for all of my supplies and installs I have NEVER been so disappointed in this store as I am now. With other stores such as Menards and Home Depot becoming more competitive price-wise, I will likely not shop here anymore. I am writing this review to warn other shoppers NOT to purchase installed windows here. So here has been my journey so far. 7/2/17: My oldest son leans on one of his windows from his bed and it cracks. 7/3/17: Head to Lowes to schedule a window measure, at first they say its going to be two weeks until they can measure but then I explain that the window is currently broken and it is the middle of summer and I really need this done soon. He says he can squeeze me in on 7/8. I agree and realize that this isn't going to be a super quick process, so I need to tape up the window as best as I can. 7/8: Lowes rep comes and measures windows. Talks me into doing the other window in the bedroom because even though it is not broken, it is old and is more price effective to do more than one window at a time. After a few days of trying to decide if I can afford both, I call him back and agree. 8/24 Contract is finally ready for me to sign 8/29 Actual window contractor comes out and re-measure to verify what Lowes rep measured. 9/8 Measurements are verified, I go in and pay for windows. I am told that it takes about 30 days to get windows in - somewhat annoying but beyond anyone's control 10/24: My windows are finally in. Window install is scheduled for 11/6. I won't be able to be there due to my work schedule but I ask for them just to call me when they get there and call me when they leave. 11/6: 11:30am the guy installing calls me to let me know that he has arrived. 1:15pm He call back to let me know that the windows where the wrong size but that they did tape them up better for me and would put a rush on my order. I am upset but it is not his fault and he is very apologetic. 11/25: I go into check, the guy at the desk doesn't know anything really. he says that there is a note saying they are supposed to be in 11/26. I'm not sure if this is accurate or not. I leave 12/7 I get a call, they are in but cannot schedule until 12/20. I have no choice in the matter so I agree. Again I won't be able to be there due to work so I schedule for between 9-11am and tell them that I will leave the door unlocked and just to call before and after. December 20th: It is 11:15 and nobody has called me to say they are there. My kids get out 2 hours early this day at 12:25. I will not be home until 1pm and do not want them to walk into a house with strange men when I am not there and at this point, its looking like that might be the case, so I call Lowes to check on their status. The lady answering calls in installation is super rude. I talk to her twice. Once at 11:15 and once at 11:22. I have honestly never experienced such terrible customer service in all my life. I am not being rude or angry with her yet she is cutting me off and making rude remarks to me. At one point I even tell her, "I am not being rude to you. I do not know why you are being so rude and defensive". This changes her attitude slightly but not much. -Finally the installer calls me, he says that they have just arrived (it is 11:48) I say that this is not going to work and that I will need to reschedule. Thinking he is going to say 30 days out, he says, how about Saturday. I say thank you, this is fine. 12/24: No one shows up. I think maybe he made a mistake, since this is Christmas eve, he must have meant the following Saturday and just not said it correctly 12/30: No one shows up. I call the store. The lady in installation answers. She says well I'm seeing that it was scheduled for 12/24 but I'm guessing that didn't happen. I say, no it did not. I didn't call that day because it was a holiday and I though that maybe he made a mistake and meant today. She says, well I can try calling the installer but a lot of them take vacations and he probably won't answer. I say, "Well yeah that would be great since its 12/30 and I ordered the windows in summer. I kind of need to get this figured out" She pauses. She says, "Ok I will try to call them" I thought she placed me on hold but it said twice, "Press one now to be transferred to a survey" and then hung up. She hung up on me!! She did not attempt to call me back either. So here I am sitting here dumb-founded and in tears. Out $900 some dollars for two windows that I still don't have in the middle of the freezing cold winter, typing this review to save others the headache that I had to go through. Their prices are not good enough to make the terrible customer service worth dealing with. Save yourself the headache. read more

Went in to get a new refrigerator which had to be special ordered. The guy in the appliance department was friendly, he noticed the sale tag wasn't up on the one I was interested in and informed me of the sale price. That was all good and was what I expected for service, but the lady who helped me at the service desk was outstanding. As I am new to the state, my bank wouldn't process my card. She patiently waited as I talked with them to authorize the transaction, running it several times (at the bank's suggestion) until it went through...which took about 35 minutes. She was friendly, kind and took care of others in the interim, but quickly was attentive when I was instructed to try the transaction again. read more

I came in on my crutchs and asked Mr.Wheel Chair if they carried an item , and he told me that I wouldn't know until I went back to hardware and asked for help back there ! Wrong answer , How about , Let me call back there and find out for you . MAkes me want a job that I can not be fired from. Then the old lady at the help desk registar asks If I found everything that I needed , I told her no , I could not find two things , and I would have had better assistance at Menards, She came back with " Oh well some like us and some don't " she handed me my change and I left. Nice attitude, ! NOT ! For five years this was the only Big box hardware store that I would go to . I swore off of Home depot after my third visit and its been Lowes ever since. There is a New Menards over in moline , perhaps they have a better opinion of their customers , we'll have to give them a try. I always give retailer three chances , so Lowes has tow more coming. Ordered washer/dryer pair, the day of delivery (3 weeks later) manager calls and says they ordered wrong color dryer, he then proceeded to say he'll order the white dryer and we'll call you next week when it arrives and they'll deliver that weekend. Well, I called the following Friday to see if it was in, the manager says it is in, it was in yesterday. I asked her why I didn't get a phone call, she said she wasn't sure, but she never apologized. I asked if they have it set up for delivery Sat or Sun, she said unfortunately no. Again, not one apology from her. I told her they made 3 mistakes with my order, firstly, they ordered wrong dryer, secondly, they never called to let me know the new dryer had arrived and thirdly, they never set up delivery like the first manager had told me. She said there's nothing she can do except set up delivery for the following Thurs. WOW. And still no apology from her, none. I told her that her customer service skills were horrible. And she hung up. Any good manager would've at least tried to make the situation right, and she failed miserably. Very disappointed in Lowes. If I could not give any stars I would, one star is generous for this store. read more

Went here to get tile and was waited on what they call a " pro" employee one who is supposed to know what he sells and is paid more than anyone else on the floor. We ordered 605 sq feet . This guy never told us about die lot numbers even though he's called a " pro" tiled was laid by tiler and tile was like 5 different shades called store went up chain of command no help there finally got a hold of district manager he made them replace it all... then I ordered cabinets from there kitchen area and was waited on by yet another one called a " pro" she messed up by not telling us our depth of cabinets would be 25 and not 21 like we had on top of that the countertop did not fit after there people measured it ... they replaced it after I reminded them they was responsible for it since they did measurements. Then when cabinets did come the glazing trim on cabinets was sloppy to non existent called store again after a week of communication with people there the best they offered was to replace 3 of the 8 doors, after hearing this I called cabinet company and got all 8 doors replaced ... and they came back shoddy and damaged again this store sucks service is lousy and manager never returns my call I'm done with this place they need major overhaul of this store read more

I was in the Lowe's on Elmore Avenue on Saturday June 22nd 2017. A very nice lady in the blinds department helped me with getting three sets of blinds and the top piece which was 80" long. I went and got a cart for the three sets of blinds. I carried the 80 inch long box in my left hand while I pushed the cart with my right hand. I am a 64 year old woman and I walked past three men at the paint counter yakking away not one asked if he could help me. When I got up to the checkout there were several male employees standing around doing nothing and none of them asked if they could help me take my things out to my car and help me put them in my car. And there were two men in line behind me a paintbrush. On my way out I almost thought about turning around and asking them if I could help them take their paintbrush out to their car. And some people might say why didn't you ask for help. I shouldn't have to. read more
