Ordering countertops is nearly impossible. I've tried ordering them 5 times. Managed to get a quote but can't get anyone to take my money or call me back. Their hours are ridiculous so if you have a job good luck. Their employees were actually pointing to other places to buy countertops. I do a lot of business with Home Depot so it sucks. read more

Went in looking for a new Christmas tree. I could not find any boxes matching the tree on the floor that I wanted to purchase. I noticed things were busy at customer service so I went to the Home Depot website first and the website showed "limited stock available". Since there were no boxes on the floor, I waited in the line of Customer Service to see if they had any additional stock in the back. When I asked the man at Customer Service if those were the only Christmas trees, before he had a chance to speak another man behind the desk, said "Yep that's all we got," in a very rude and curt tone before giving the person who was helping me a chance to pull up the item on the computer. I had already watched this man be rude to several other customers in line and roll his eyes and loudly sigh when a customer with limited English language ability came up to check out. he may have been correct that there was no more inventory in stock, but the rudeness with which he responded and the rudeness with which he approached other customers was uncalled for. Customer service is the last place this man needs to be working and due to his attitude, I will exhaust any other home improvement store options in my area before I return to this location. read more

The employees are more worried about having their heads buried in their tablets, their paperwork, their computers, etc., then to help their customer. I walked by a group of at least seven employees and not one of them paused their conversation to ask if I needed help or to even acknowledge me. At the cash register I asked the lady if they did not have Tap and she couldn't even look up at me instead remained leaning on her cart with her head, buried in her paperwork and said no, that was all. I choose to at Home Depot because I was raised on shopping at Home Depot. This store like a few others in our culture don't seem to want your hard on money so you won't get my hard earned money. I will choose to drive 15 to 20 minutes further to get my home improvement repair, etc. needs met at Home Depot is competitor rather than be treated like a second rate individual at Home Depot. read more

I am so disappointed in their customer service lately! Especially with their "management". We just started the first project of a 2-home, $45k home renovation, and I am taking our future business to Lowe's or Menard's. I've been a life-long Home Depot customer, since growing up in California and loving their stores there. Not anymore though! It's an on-going nightmare that started with an online order we placed, based on store inventory. We ordered 42 boxes of laminate that we needed the following week, so our contractor could lay flooring while we were out of town. Again, we based our decision on what they had in stock and ordered in plenty of time. A day before delivery, they told us they didn't have enough. (This should have been caught the prior week, upon order being placed.) We scrambled to the store, hoping to find something in stock, as we could not afford to delay the contractor or re-plan being out of town. We waited over an hour to talk to the assistant MOD, Steven, who never came back to talk to us. I asked the (helpful) employee, Roger, 3 times that we'd really rather wait for a manger of some sort, but Steven never came. The assistant flooring manager, Allison, who seemed to be "on break" for over an hour, and appeared as we were leaving - was neither kind or helpful. I called Customer Care that evening, and they were able to help with the partial order fulfillment, and Steven called me back to offer a 10% discount. (Also, Steven hung up on me after Customer Care first transferred me to him. He said it was an accident, but it completely added to the frustration of the night.) I thought the discount was fair, and though we were beyond frustrated and disappointed with the ordeal, we were satisfied with the partial order and the promise to get the rest delivered *as soon as it came in.* The following day, the partial order was delivered to our front sidewalk. We had 3 people quickly bring them to a closed interior closet. (Thus, I personally did not count the boxes.) The email we received stated 20 boxes were delivered. It has been two weeks, and we had not heard a single word about the second delivery. My husband was in yesterday, and happened to ask (we were still spending money there, but that is going to stop!) about an update. The employee (one we hadn't talked to before) could not find anything to tell us. That is crazy to me, we could not get a status update from an employee on the spot. This tells me, records must horrible and unorganized. The employee did try to get the bottom of it, and called back, and brought it Steven's attention. Steven called today, and said only _ 8 _ boxes were still owed to us, and he based that number on a picture from the DELIVERY DRIVER. I cannot believe management is comfortable with basically telling a customer "their computer system is worthless, and it doesn't matter what you have on record on email from Home Depot; this blurry cell picture looks like you had more than 20 delivered". Steven seemed to be more understanding today, and was helpful when he conceded, after a little back and forth, that we will be getting our remaining 22 boxes. Except, he called back a little while after, and said "my manager, John Bradford, said we will only be delivering 8 boxes". Oh, by the way, they are in stock and can deliver tomorrow. Seriously, if they're in stock, and IF it was only 8 - which it's not - why weren't they in touch this whole time? Why did we have to initiate the inquiry? I am both disgusted and livid! To add injury to insult, when I call the 800 number to "check on the status of my order". It states all 42 have already been delivered. There is an embarrassing computer system failure if the employees cannot read the system or properly update it to reflect accurate inventory. (Or I can assume, employees or delivery drivers are stealing inventory and "satisfying" the delivery in the system.) Furthermore, there is total lack of customer service on management's part - to right their mistakes, to honor Home Depot's paperwork, and to make the customer happy. Sad indeed! read more

In June we spent a week in Illinois and needed to rent a truck to pick up some things. The man in the tool center was so helpful, got us out quickly and checked back in in great speed. very efficient. We were back in August for gardening supplies, plants, mulch, etc, and had to make several trips. The people in the garden area were great and we were there during several different shifts.. They answered all of our questions, helped us find everything we needed, and even offered me a water when they could see I was dying of thirst. Paid for a floor measure to put new flooring down. The person who measured has no affiliation with the installer, so they could not answer any of our questions about a few issues we have with the floor. Who knows how much the extras were going to cost or if they could even do what we wanted to fix an uneven transition. Installation was quoted 3 times the cost of materials, plus numerous add on charges. I wasted $50 on a measure appointment that I am not confident the floor would turn out or that they would add on a bunch of extra charges. read more

This store has great customer service. I really had a great experience with Jamie the assistant manager. She will walk beside you to make sure you find everything you need. She is very knowledgeable and knows how to make a customer happy. She makes Home Depot feel like your neighborhood hardware store. My experience with the entire staff has been great. Found a freezer online and tried to order it. As it could not be delivered to our home, I called the store as directed and followed their directions. Received a receipt and invoice and my credit card was charged. Then I received an email stating the order was cancelled. After 45 minutes of phone calls, I was told I would have to start over and would not receive the sale price as the sale was now over. The store manager, Lisa, told me there was nothing she could do to rectify this. Right. read more
