The delivery men dropped off a gas stove but were unable to install it until I had certain work done regarding a shut-off valve. That was understandable. I was told to call customer service once the work was complete and the old stove was disconnected to schedule pick up of the old stove, since I had paid for removal of the old stove. So, I did as instructed and called; however, I have now called 3 times, waited up to 25 minutes per call and never did have a human pick up the phone. So as of right now, I have an old gas stove in my living room, and it looks like I will have to drive to the store to try to speak to someone in person regarding picking up the old stove and/or receiving a refund for the fee I was charged. We purchased a CRAFTSMAN self propelled lawn mower with a Briggs and Stratton engine and a three year service contract 5/4/24 from Lowe's, Dover, DE. We did NOT use it in 2024 because of my husband's health problems. I ONLY used it TWICE starting in May 2025. When I needed to mow last week (5/23/25) the pull cord stopped working and a cover on one of the front wheels was loose. It is guaranteed to start by the second pull of the starter cord. Not correct - it takes several puills I called Lowe's Service and was transferred to Black and Decker because it is still under manufacture's warrantee. It is a Craftsman mower, not made by Black and Decker. Unortunately because of the Memorial Day holiday everything was closed. I attempted to get service via Lowes website but kept getting an error message. On Tuesday I called Lowe's store and an assistant manager said she would help me and call back - she didn't. I again called Lowe's Service and learned the mower is under the Craftsman warranty for two years before the Lowe's Service starts and Craftsman is responsible. More recordings and extension choices. Then through Craftsman I had to select a local Craftsman repair dealer. More recordings and choices. I contacted a 'local dealer' (miles away) and was told to bring it in and it could take two weeks to process the claim. I have to load the lawn mower, take it to be repaired and pick it up. In the meantime the grass is growing with a new lawn mower sitting around. I will have to hire someone to cut my lawn. I am 76 years old and handicapped. How am I going to do this? What good is a Lowes Service contract with all this jumping through hoops? read more

Lowe's used a bait and switch approach with custom countertops. They gave a price of $2300. After paying a $600 non-refundable deposit, the price went up $902. Some of the cost appeared legitimate, but Lowe's refused to give us an itemized break-down of the additional $902. We calculated about $600 that was NOT justified. They said they do not provide a cost break-down. We spoke numerous times with the salesperson, another countertop associate, the countertop manager, the store assistant mgr, AJ, and one of AJ's cronies. After several weeks asking for justification of the cost increase, none of them would return our calls or help solve the issue. They all ignored us hoping we'd go away. Eventually, we paid the full invoice, so they won. DO NOT purchase countertops at Lowe's. The price is a GIMMICK. In fact, the countertop contractor told us this is typical with Lowe's. They give one price and raise it after you pay the deposit. SHAME on Lowe's. read more

I have been a loyal Lowes customers for a really long time now. It seems strange in that there is a Home Depot less than a mile from my home in Dover Delaware but for a variety of reasons I have Preffered the blue and red over the orange. On January 14th I went to the Lowes in Dover, Delaware in search of a new front loading washing machine. I had a set of Whirlpool Duets but the washer had gone out. The washer was available but a pedestal was not. There were some good sales so I elected to go with a whole new washer and dryer set. After everything was settled I paid a little over $2k- using my Lowes credit card (full disclosure- I rarely use this card.) The associate that I worked with was knowledgeable, polite and professional- even though I was spending more than what I had planned to spend I was happy... which was the usual feeling that I had in regard to my experiences at Lowes. Monday morning my new appliances were delivered. I asked the delivery installers to please make sure everything was level. They said they would but that didn't have a level. I gave them the choice between a torpedo level and a 2 ft level. I left them alone and they came to me a short while later and said everything was good to go. I thanked them and tipped them and sent them on their way. After the delivery installers were gone I loaded the washing machine and started a load. The washing machine started banging. The front of the machine turned several inches and the machine hit the wall. There did not appear to be damage to the wall or machine but the washing machine clearly was not balanced. I spent two and a half hours Monday afternoon getting bounced back and forth between customer care and installation services before always being transferred back to the Dover store in which I couldn't get anything resolved there either. Yesterday morning, Tuesday, I went to the store and went directly to customer service. I was in the process of explaining my frustration and my desire for a resolution when I was cut off and told that everything was "ok." I disagreed and explained everything was not ok. Another representative interjected at this point. Her name is Mary. Mary said she would make some phone calls and call me back- which she did. Mary left me a voicemail and said that the delivery installers would be back out to balance the machine on Wednesday. I attempted to call the store back to follow up with Mary to confirm that a different team would be coming out. In my opinion the initial team was either incompetent or bluntly- liars. I was told that Mary was gone for the day and given another 800 number to call. After being bounced around a few more times I went back to the store and asked to speak with a manager. After a nice wait an assistant manager came out. This person, Mark- I believe, seemed to think that everything was funny. He explained that Lowes has no control over what has happened and that my complaints need to be wagered at the delivery company. I countered that if I paid someone to build my house and when moving in discovered that an outlet wasn't working that I would call the builder and that they would take care of it- not the electrical sub hired by the builder. I didn't pick the delivery service- I purchased the appliances and protection plan from Lowes and I paid Lowes for the delivery that was scheduled and coordinated again by Lowes. I went on to say that at this point the situation was so ridiculous I felt a price adjustment was in order. Mark told me that if I wanted a price adjustment I would have to talk to the delivery service. I explained I wasn't satisfied and that I wanted to return the appliances for a refund. He laughed and said ok. In less than a minute he said the items were returned and that he scheduled pickup for the following day- today, Wednesday. I left and went right to Home Depot. I showed them the receipts and explained that I had had a terrible experience at Lowes and asked them if they could match or beat the price for the same products. They were surprised at the deal I had gotten but, after a few manager approvals they came to within $1 on an apple to apple comparison for the same product with the same extra warranty. Tuesday night I received an automated call that Lowes delivery would be at my home between 730 and 1130 the following morning. Shortly after 730 I received a call from the Lowes delivery driver. The driver explained he had 2 tickets for me.... 1 to balance the washer and 1 to pick everything up for a return. I explained to him that the washer had not been correctly balanced and that I was not satisfied with the way Lowes handled my complaint and that the items were to be picked up and returned. Went to Lowes in North Dover today to buy a $700 tool cabinet for my husband for Christmas. Could not interest a single employee in assisting me. Two managers sitting in their office chatting. Employee at the paint desk playing on her phone. Same deal at the return desk at the front of the store. I stood there for five minutes while FOUR employees ignored me. I was in early this morning to get a utility cabinet. When I got it home and unpacked I found a forklift had been run through it a few times. Shame on me for not checking the box. My bad. One I chose was to do a return, buy a new one and just get the panel out of that one and leave the rest as my return. But, they didn't have another. But, the Camden store 7 miles away had six. Dont ever purchase appliances from Lowes they send damaged appliances to you. I am very dissatisfied with Lowes in Dover Delaware ! I had a horrible experience with Lowes delivering me a damaged washer and dryer I purchased a washer and dryer on 07/23/20 and waited an entire month for the delivery that was due to be delivered on 09/04/20 and when 09/03/20 came around no one called me so I called and no appliances were even put in for a delivery. So I went into the store and complained to the sales clerk Dakota which was so helpful and the person I spoke to named Lucus told me that the person who did the original "order" was not even an appliances associate. So when I got the order finally put in I didn't even get a discount when I was told I would, the delivery came on 09/07/20 and the appliances were damaged. So I refused to except it. On top of that I had to wait on a 2nd delivery on Labor day a day I had planned to spend with my family. I refused to accept damaged appliances and the sales associate named Natalie in appliances assured me that I would get another washer and dryer delivered on Friday 09/11/20 and this means I am losing another day of work. If there's a possible way of some reimbursement that would be greatly appreciated for my long wait and multiple problems I have had. FALSE ADVERTISING - I ordered a custom entry door and window five months ago and on the day of the installation, I found out the measurements were wrong. When I called corporate headquarters all I received was, "I'm so sorry", "We're sorry but". Lowes Home Installations is the WORST. Hire a professional. What the incompetent sales rep. did not disclose is that all entry doors are not custom, some parts are standard from a factory. This Lowe's location is clean and well run by management. The isles are generally clean and clear for customers to walk through. The employees seem well knowledges for the questions that I asked. However, my questions are not very technical. Recently brought flowers for the back yard. The flower selection was vast and well maintained. The questions that I asked were answered clearly. I did as instructed and the flowers are doing great in the yard. This as all of the locations are warehouses and is large enough to find the items needed. I am not much of a fan for large stores, what are you gonna do when this all there is? I prefer a smaller store....but this is just my preference. Worst experience ever. Don't go here if you need a custom paint color. I stopped by to get a custom oil base paint and the girl working the paint booth didn't even know there was a difference between oil and latex. When I explained in detail what was the difference she continued to insist that there was no difference. When I convinced her that there was, she proceeded to tell me that the only colors were premixed (black,white and cranberry) and that she could mix a few of those to get my desired "blue" shade!! I have used Home Depot for most of my life but having just moved to this state and my realtor giving me a gift card for Lowes I thought I would give them a try, I went in and ordered a new dish washer and a refrigerator , just moving from out of state we told them what days we could be there for delivery, the sales guy said the old dish washer would be taken away and the ice maker on the fridge would be hooked up for free , also the dish washer will be installed for free, we drive all the way here for the delivery and wait and wait , finally we call and they tell us they decided to ship it the next day, we told them we won't be here so we made a new date , new date comes and truck shows up with just the dish washer and the drivers say we just drop it off we can't install so we call the store and they say the refrig is supposed to be picked up and we don't know anything about installing dish washer.
