I figured, if I got it reupholstered to the color of my choice and had the cushion replaced, it would be good as new. I took to my handy dandy Yelp app and did a search and Mill End popped up. I'm familiar with the shop, since a family member worked there years ago, but I had no clue they did this type of work. I gave them a call and was told to bring in a picture to evaluate the chair because they didn't want me to be without my chair for a long time. Well, I thought bringing in the chair itself would be easier, since I wasn't in a hurry for it. I was greeted by a very knowledgeable staff member who gushed about how beautiful the chair was. She did an evaluation of what would be needed to repair and reupholster it and then showed me the fabrics that were available in the color I selected. They have a large variety of fabrics on-sight in the store, but they do have options that can be ordered. The one I selected was on-sight. We agreed upon the estimated price, I filled out some paperwork and I was out the door. It was literally that quick and simple. Since they have a pretty extensive client list waiting for their projects before me, my estimated date for the chair to be completed was about 2 months or so. To my surprise, I was called about a month later informing me that my chair was ready. I arrived and was extremely pleased with my brand new chair. The workmanship was beautifully done and the cushion they replaced was perfectly placed. They did such a phenomenal job, my parents wanted their chair back. Lol! Not on my watch! Yes, Mill End is a bit pricey, but so worth it! They're truly professionals. I'm planning to get my dinning room chairs reupholstered in the near future, so I made sure to get an estimate while I was there. I'll absolutely be back in the near future.

Some items seem vastly overpriced, and others are more reasonable. To my surprise, I was the subject of a profanity laced diatribe from a female owner of the store who excoriated me for making the wrong purchase which required her to a do what she called " a time consuming credit card refund". I began shopping at R&D Cross when the southern part of Upper Marlboro had one fast food restaurant and you saw store employees at church or the grocery store. That period has passed. What remains is my insistence that I treat others with respect and be treated the same way. Regrettably, I shall never make another R&D Cross purchase.

The aggressive owner immediately was defensive and rude to me, telling me to give him a break and he had a lot of houses to manage, telling me it's only 9:30, as if did t know what time it was. I understand the stresses of work and managing a company, I wanted to give him a heads up our house was skipped last week and potentially this week too. He then rudely said he will cancel our service because he doesn't need to deal with people like me, and then he hung up on me. Our county offers FREE composting. We continued to use this service because we wanted to support a veteran run business. This man was rude, unprofessional, and aggressive. I'm actually upset we have been paying him for so many years now knowing what a jerk he is. If this is the way he treats his loyal customers, I can't even imagine how he treats his employees.
