This Lowe's has really gone downhill. Today not a single employee greeted us. We were obviously looking for something walking around with two giant carts filled with soil and vegetables . We were searching for kids garden gloves which the website said they had 13 pairs. We walked by 5 different employees and not a single one asked if we needed help. One guy in the garden center literally was on his phone while one lady checked out a massive line. Sure maybe he isn't a cashier, and couldn't have opened another line- but you shouldn't be on your phone in front of customers, it's unprofessional and when there is a huge line it makes it look like you couldn't care less. We do most of our shopping at Ace Hardware for this very reason- Lowe's cannot hold a candle to the level of service provided at Ace. Unfortunately Ace doesn't carry veggies so next time we will journey all the way to Home Depot in Apex because this degraded level of service we simply won't tolerate. read more

I ordered a washer/dryer set from Lowes in May, for a July delivery. While I was into the 4th hour of waiting for delivery, the delivery date was suddenly changed to a 12 hour window on the next day. No one called, texted or emailed to explain or apologize for the change. I was able to reschedule for a four hour window. However, the delivery guys noticed damages on both the washer/dryer when they took them off the truck. I rejected the delivery as advised and contacted Lowes in the afternoon to find out when new ones would be delivered. I was told that trucks come in on Monday and Wednesday, and new machines might be on those trucks. A new delivery was set up for the following Thursday. On the following Wednesday, I received a text with a 12 hour delivery window for the next day. When I called the local Lowes, I was told that there weren't any washing machines in stock and none were expected for at least another month. I was advised to speak to my salesman. When I said that I had purchased online, I was advised to call the main number. Shortly thereafter, I received a text message with a four hour window for delivery the following day. I called the main number asking for clarification and was told that they likely had the machine since a 4 hour window was set, but they were unable to reach anyone at the local store to confirm. I was advised to call the main number the next morning and have them confirm delivery with the local store. When I called the next morning, I was initially told that it would be delivered, but when I pushed the customer representative to reach out to the local store, she was able to determine that the truck went out without my washer/dryer. Based on all of the confusion on when replacements would come, I asked for a refund and was told that a case needed to be opened with the local store and they had 24 hours to reach out to me.No one called. I contacted the main line again 24 hours later and was once again told that it would be escalated further and that I had to wait another 24 hours before a refund could be initiated. Not surprisingly, no one has reached out to me again and I have had to call again to try and get the refund started and acknowledgment that the order is cancelled so that I can order the washer/dryer from somewhere else. All those I spoke with tried to be helpful and were pleasant. However,based on this experience, I will avoid Lowes when choosing the rest of the appliances I need. read more

This is a good Lowes store. The staff here is better than at most. They pretty much all carry the same stuff, so you know what to expect. The garden center is very well managed. We buy all our live plants here. The stock is generally healthy and reasonably priced. read more

Ok, I guess I have to give them a decent rating since I've spent WAY too much money here in the last couple months. Damn you Lowe's for opening a new location near my house! There are still some things the other "big box store" does better, like allowing me to get trim cut to specific lengths, but this place is near my house. I've been here loads of times. I love this store. Open, airy, lots of people working and who are knowledgeable. They were the only retailer who had what I was looking for, and when I walked in and mentioned in, the young women (Erika) remembered me from calling and walked me from the counter to the paint and even helped me carry it to the register. The customer service is HORRIBLE. I've never dealt with more incompetent people who absolutely do not care about the customer. I bought a simple microwave A MONTH ago and I still have not gotten it installed. They took my original microwave so I've been living without one for a month. No one is taking notes on inventory, communicating with their 3rd party installers or even mentioning when the installation times were. They came to my house twice to install a broken microwave (microwave they brought was defect BOTH times) and had THREE NO SHOWS. I took time off work to be there and then no one showed up. I have been hung up on repeatedly and got the runaround from everyone so I had to go to corporate for them to do anything about it. I will never shop here again. read more

I've spent at least $20,000 at this store over the past couple years, and overall it's OK - about what you'd expect from a big box home improvement store. But I'm giving this Lowe's 1 star based on the recent roof install job I had completed. I've never in my life seen such miscommunication among people - sales, installers, contractors, delivery people, and store managers. In the end, it took 2 months to replace a simple roof (original estimate was 4 days), lots of headaches, angry neighbors, The root cause? They don't assign project managers/GC's to install jobs. A smooth talking sales person comes out to your house, sells you a job, and then passes it on directly to the sub. If you're prepared to pay a premium to Lowes but act as the project manager yourself, than maybe things could work out better. read more

I was working on my 35 YO tub faucet and broke a piece. It was 7:45 at night and I was not going to be able to turn the water back on until I found a replacement. Lowe's had the complete replacement, so I was able to put in both new faucets, the shower/tub valve and new knobs. Water was back on by 9:30. read more

I normally have a great experience with this lowes. As a general contractor in the area I visit very frequently. Recently I had one of the workers hang up on me, I'm assuming for not wanting to answer my questions. I was transferred several times. The employee talked down to me and was trying to tell me something I needed that I was not looking for. He would not answer my questions to get the product I was looking for. read more

My daughter bought her first house nearby and we were in this store frequently when I visited. The store is new and attractive. What was remarkable was the paint dept. We brought in a paint chip to be matched, but the computer couldn't 'read' the sample we brought in. The employee looked at the sample, walked over to the paint sample and pulled one out. It was a perfect match! He blended the paint and we were able to touch up the walls in her house. This was incredible! read more

2018 and a black man looking at a riding mower is still considered a thief. I purchased a riding mower from here a couple of years back. So today while looking at a rider similar to mine to take pics to see how to reassemble my carb a employee named Frank(white male) stops on his way back into the store as he's pushing in carts and stares at me not knowing he was being watched also. After a few minutes of saying nothing to me he continues inside the store and apparently tells one of the supervisors I was trying to steal a riding mower so they both rush back out while I continue to look at the mower and just stand and watch me, saying nothing. Supervisor finally tells frank I got it you can go back in now. This being my second trip to this store today and making purchases both times and being stalked by this racist thinking employees definitely will make me go out of my way to shop at a Home Depot from here on out. This store being within walking distance of my home was a plus but not to experience racist employees stereotyping me. Order an appliance model not currently in stock. Told easy to order it. Waited a month to hear anything from them. Paid for installation. When the third party arrived with the appliance and took it out of the box, it was broken. Lowe's response? Too bad, so sad. Here's a refund now move along. I went into this store on Sunday to buy a washing machine for a rental home that I manage. In the last year I've purchased countess washers, dryers, ranges, microwave ovens and refrigerators for the 100 some odd rental homes that we manage. On Sunday June 11 I went in early to buy a washer. I waited about five minutes for the appliance salesperson to finish with an irate customer on the phone. When it was my turn I told her what I wanted, that I wanted delivery, that I wanted set up and that I wanted the old appliance taken away. I was shocked when my total was $60 higher than I'd calculated in my head. It was a DELIVERY charge. You see my purchase did not exceed $365 so there was a delivery charge. I swallowed the insult and headed to the register to pay. There I waited while the ONE open register attempted to handle another irate customer who was making all of us wait because she contended that she wasn't getting a $1.40 contractor discount on furnace filters. The cashier was on the phone trying to get help...from someone, somewhere in the bowels of the store. Finally, another cashier who had been just kind of hanging around and asking cashier #1 what she was doing and why she was on the phone opened her register and called me over. I gave her my mobile number- this is how they reference large purchases like appliances, the cashier typed it in, hit enter, then looked me in the eye and said, "Nope!" Verbatim, "Nope!" So, I repeated my number, she typed it in, my name came up, buy no washing machine and again she said, "Nope!" Kind of like I'd invented the whole purchase. She then picked up her phone and asked, "What were you buying?' "An appliance?" I'd had enough, I looked at her and said, "I'm going to Home Depot." I did jsut that and I bought a washer. I own stock in Lowes but they should bulldoze this store. The customer service is terrible. They couldn't have cared less that I was spending over $400 with them. From now on I go to their Chapel Hill store. read more

Adding to my previous review: The store experience was fine - everyone was helpful and friendly. My problem that made me give this experience only 1 star was the delivery and installation. 2 weeks ago, I had bought a washer and dryer (and parts). They had told me it would be a whole 2 weeks before it delivered, while this was irritating, I agreed and set up a delivery date of 4/27. When April 27 came around, I took the allotted time off work so I could be here to meet the delivery men. They were at least 30 minutes late from the end of the delivery window that was provided, and they didn't have the correct equipment to install my machines. They were missing tubes that were on my order - that I had paid for, which should have been with the machines. And they did not have an "easy to install" dryer vent hose - which in past experiences is usually a piece of basic equipment that delivery guys have extras of on the truck. They told me that they'd have to come back in the morning the next day with the correct parts but would put me on top of the list of deliveries they had for the day and would call me when they were on their way - estimated 830-945 am. By 11 am I still hadn't heard from them, so I called the number that called me the day before. I got two different guys who had told me that one of the guys that was supposed to do the delivery never showed up and that I was #6 on their list of deliveries. I explained to them the situation, since now I had sat around for another half day waiting for them to arrive, hoping that this time they had the right parts but not even knowing that. They told me that they were on the way to a delivery but would call me if they could move me up after that delivery. They called back an hour later and after confirming my name and address a 3rd time, said that they were on their way. Then 15 minutes later they called back again (this being a different person in the same truck), confirming my name and address (which I literally spelled out for them), and said that they'd be there within 20 minutes. 25 minutes later, I get yet another call from them saying that they thought I was a different Kate and that was never actually on their list of deliveries and I had to call the store to find out if a truck was on it's way. I called the store - was transferred twice by the computer. Talked to one person who transferred me to another person supposedly in delivery department. He told me that he could not tell me if a truck was on its way and that I had to call the 1-800 Delivery number. So I called this number (by this time it was 1:30pm), and gave them the whole story, she called the store and ALL of the managers were on lunch break - at the same time and she was waiting for them to call back to get someone to my place that day. But in the meantime, as a backup plan, she was putting a note in the system for them to call me within 24 hours. After I spoke with her on the 1-800 line. I called the store myself and after being transferred again 3 times, spoke with Tom - who was very helpful on his first week on the job. Tom spoke with his boss about getting me a refund, after some haggling, they settled on 20%, and he also spoke with the Delivery Coordinator who was supposed to call me to discuss the parts needed. About 45 minutes - 1 hour after I spoke with Tom, Terry the delivery coordinator called and we discussed parts and I swear he said that he was just finishing up his last delivery and was going to call the other drivers that were out and coordinate to get someone to my place that day. 2 hours go by and I hadn't heard anything from Terry - or anyone, and by this time it's 5 pm. So I call Terry back - another person answers the phone, Terry is apparently in the bathroom. This person - David - tells me that they are finishing up their deliveries and will be to my place within 1 - 2 hours. I am extremely annoyed and pissed at this point, but whatever I'll be here. Terry calls me right back to say that they are on their way. They get to my place at 5:30 pm and first try to tell me that because of the shotty work the renovation team did on my apartment, they can't install the dryer vent. I look at him and say "really, after all this, you're telling me that you can't do anything?" He says with my permission, he can use his pocket knife and cut into the wall to try to pull the other side of the vent out a little for the clamp to latch on. I give him the go ahead and he gets everything hooked up and makes sure everything runs well. There were some helpful people. But it all began when the first delivery guy brought the wrong parts and then called out sick the next morning and didn't tell anyone about what happened. read more

I hired the Durham Lowe's to remodel my bathroom. The project was estimated to take 6 weeks. It took 6 months because they did not properly inspect the materials at the pre-construction meeting, or after one damaged shower section was found, and needed to replace 2 sections of the shower. This was my first home remodel project so I did not realize it was not normal to go weeks at a time without hearing from your project coordinator. She apparently never followed up with the contractors to make sure we were on their schedule when parts came in so they were fully scheduled and the project dragged on and on. She disappeared in the middle of a our project and was replaced with someone else, but the scheduling was still very slow and the project still took about 2 months to complete once all of the parts arrived. We also had issues with Lowe's delivery. They would show up at the house without confirming deliveries ahead of time and require us to leave work unexpectedly. They would also not show up after confirming deliveries, causing us to miss work unnecessarily. There was very poor coordination between the different departments at Lowe's. While we were between coordinators I would try to call and find out what was going on with our project and I would need to explain our situation over and over again to a different person every day. Apparently even though each one of them said they were "putting notes in our file" no one could pull up our file and read the notes when I called for a status update to see if we had been assigned a new coordinator. Our coordinator was also unable to receive information about the deliveries from Lowe's delivery. We have been working with Lowe's about compensation and keep being told that they are working on it. We have asked when to expect a response multiple times and the question is ignored. We are extremely frustrated and would never work with Lowe's again. We don't even shop in the store anymore. I would not recommend hiring Lowe's to do any work in your home or business. They are extremely unorganized, unresponsive, and don't follow through on their promises or commitments. I am an extremely unsatisfied customer. Update - Lowe's settled my compensation request for less than 1/3 of what I requested. They cited the reasons for this being that I requested delays and increases in scope. The only time I "requested a delay" was when they told me the wrong start date and I wasn't ready the day they were going to show up and demo. And the increase in scope was installation of a light fixture they included mid-way through the project as compensation for the delays (that was my understanding at the time). This company uses its carefully crafted contracts to shirk responsibility for its lack of attention to its customers and tries to place blame on customers after the fact. I will never spend another dollar at Lowe's again. UPDATE: the shower developed a crack in the marble and we contacted Lowes about our warranty. We tried to work with Installation Services and the local store. After 7 weeks Lowes was unable to find a contractor with availability to look at the damage. We repaired it ourselves and paid out of pocket even though the work was still under warranty. This company is ridiculously unorganized and seems to care nothing about its responsibilities to its customers. I hate this company and will actively discourage anyone I know from shopping there or using a Installation Services. Absolutely ridiculous lack of customer service. read more

This review is just for Greg in the flooring department. Late on a Thursday night, my boyfriend and I walked into this Lowes to get about seven tiles cut for a kitchen backsplash. Not only was Greg personable and friendly, but he genuinely seemed to enjoy helping us out, even at the late hour. Not to mention that he did a great job actually cutting my marble mosaic tile (no chips!), even managing some tricky cuts to go around an outlet. I haven't been too impressed by anyone in customer service lately, but this experience has made a big dent in my cynicism. So thank you, Greg, for your stellar help and workmanship! read more

We signed a contract with Lowe's on 7/5/17 for a kitchen renovation that was sold to us by Kimberly Beaman which has still not been completed. Lowe's required us to use their contractor/installer which is Emergency Response & Renewal (ERR) out of Graham, NC. We have dealt with incorrect materials being ordered, cabinets that were supposedly inspected upon receipt by Lowe's and ERR that turned out to warped and damaged which required another order. In addition, we also had Lowe's employees advising that replacement materials had been ordered only to find out they had not and we had to contact the vendor direct to find this out. We also had to deal with ERR showing up to do work without the proper tools and equipment and it was a constant struggle for their crews to properly protect and cover surfaces in our home that were not being renovated. Their painters pulled out a french door refrigerator into the middle of our kitchen on our hardwood floors without using any appliance rollers, pads, hand trucks or any other protection. This resulted in roller/rut marks on our flooring which is no longer available!! At this point in time there has been no responsibility or accountability by Lowe's or ERR for any of this damage. We cannot stress enough how horrible this experience has been for what should have been an exciting time for a new kitchen. In addition, please be very wary of signing any contract with Lowe's due to their arbitration clauses. Lowe's misrepresented their services from the beginning of this process and continues to this point in time. read more
