My wife and I had good experiences at this Home Depot in Durham, located just off I-40 exit 270 and 15-501. The store was clean and well organized, it was easy to get in and out of, and the customer service was good. My wife first came here to get a pot and soil for our Monstera plant. We later returned three times in an 11-day span to buy moving supplies. They were easy to assemble, tape, and break down. They were sturdy and held up well after being handled by a moving company for our move from Chapel Hill to Atlanta. I liked that Home Depot's box handles felt more comfortable and ergonomic than other boxes, like Bankers Boxes, I've moved with. Needless to say, I recommend Home Depot boxes for moving. At this Mt Moriah location, we used both self checkout and regular checkout. I like Home Depot's emailed electronic receipts. One of the late weeknights we came here, just before the store closed, there was a bus in the parking lot with a bunch of what looked like high school kids either coming from or about to head out on a road trip. read more

This is not our normal go to Home Depot but we were on this side of town today and had to stop by to look for something. Employees greeted us when we walked in the door. That has never happened before. As we were walking around the store several employees ask if they could help us. The store was well organized and clean. We would for sure stop by again if we are on this side of town. read more

Home Depot's online service is Unreliable and "pretends" to have customer service built they really don't care about resolving issues with orders. I ordered 5 fence T-posts in October. I got an email that my item would be delivered on Nov 10, then on subsequent days I got emails that they would. Arrive on November 11, then 12, then 13, then 14, 15, 17, then 19. The tracking shows the product went from New Jersey to California, then back to the same New Jersey location on November 3. There is no additional tracking after that. I live in North Carolina, not California or New Jersey. On 10 separate days I called Home Depot customer service and all they said was that their system showed it will be delivered the next day. I always explained everything I stated above, but like broken records they just kept repeating that none of what I said mattered because their system showed it would be delivered the next day. Even when I asked for a supervisor and asked her to elevate it, she filed a case and all the case said was that it would be delivered in two days but the items never arrived. The email response from the case manager stated "Do Not Repliy" and the phone number provided was for the same customer care agents I had been calling. I gave up on Home depot, got a refund, and concluded that the Home Depot online order system is unreliable. read more

Durham Mt. Moriah HD I worked there 1 1/2 years and not one time do any of the managers take any complaints seriously. They never interact with the employees and just keep the lazy employees who are submissive and don't complain. its very political inside and they micromanage you to death. Funny how HD's differ. I have been to many throughout the country and in other countries. This HD Carrie's a few items that I have not found at other HD's. Interestingly that this HD is not the most attentive either. The employees seem to walk around in a haze not noticing you or they just don't care. Even in Mexico if an employee sees you they say hola. Also the Apex HD employees say hello and make sure you find what you are looking for. Maybe a customer service training course is in the future for this HD. This HD has neat bins and you can find items using the HD app. read more

Unprofessional. Rude. No greetings. No help unless you keep waiting and asking for HOURS. So If I could give them less than one star I would. I had ordered washer and dryer online but I changed my mind before delivery and thinking that they would automatically refund me. No. I had to physically go to the store twice. Then waited almost an hour for someone to help me when there were less than 15 customers in store. Unprofessional and extremely rude lady that calls herself a specialist at the customer service named Damia told me to keep waiting. Thankfully a manager showed up and demanded that rude specialist to help me. She then came to our register with nasty attitude. I just wonder how they're still doing business at this point. Overall, I've generally had good experiences at this location and employees have been helpful. However, today I experienced unprompted rudeness from an older, male employee at the self checkout area. I couldn't help but notice that said employee was cordial- and even upbeat- with the male customers, but was immediately patronizing and held an abrasive tone with me, a woman. I won't reveal his name as I know we all have bad days, but want to address the possible misogyny that occurred. I could understand if I was rude or careless, however, he got angry because I touched the check out screen after he asked which item was having an issue and needed to be removed. His rude and condescending tone left me speechless and I began crying on the ride home. When my partner went back to catch his name, he was apparently very nice and friendly to him, furthering my suspicion of this employee's bias towards women. I hope Home Depot takes care to train their employees not only on customer service, but addressing their biases towards women in such a male-dominated space. read more

This is my favorite place to buy plants! They have a lovely selection and their plant area is so calm and wonderful. I have gotten many houseplants, as well as outdoor plants- but house plants are my favorite. They are so fairly priced, especially compared to little boutique places around town. I have gotten these for gifts and even put them in cute pots- they have a great selection. The staff is also great. They help you find what you need for projects, they cut boards and pipes to size, etc. This Home Depot is my favorite stop before a project. read more

Terrible customer service. Went to buy a refrigerator, had to wait for the sales guy to show up. He said Samsung doesn't make the refrigerator I want in counter-depth. Had to tell him they do and he sells it and it is on the website. He then pulled it up -- it was $600 more than the standard one. When I asked why he said "we don't control the prices." Huh? It wasn't on sale, the other one was, yes Home Depot controls that. If I know more about refrigerators than he does, not buying one there. Guy had no interest in customer service. Used to like this store, now staff wandering around, not helping, items crammed in so have to pull heavy (for me) bins out to get one, prices mismatched so at check out price is not correct, no checkout lines open except self-service, no help giving my son who is a veteran his 10% discount - now must register online, everything takes longer. Took multiple times to get discount to work properly. I went outside. Staff doesn't seem to know what's going on or know to make things work - told son that he co not get discounts on items that he got discounts on a few days ago and then when redone now. This particular location is one of my favorite places to buy plants in the Triangle :) They have an amazing succulent selection and seem to get new shipments very frequently. As a collector, I love how most of the succulents have their names on the label. I've been able to find burro tails, string of bananas, and lovely pastel Echeverias and Graptopetalum babies. Be sure to check both the garden center and along the checkout area because there are often succulents inside too. The houseplant selection varies throughout the year. They have your social media super stars like monsteras, fiddle leaf figs, and trailing pothos. On occasion I have been able to find beautiful Calatheas, ZZ plants and more! read more

I ordered a shower kit on Aug. 18th. I finally inquired on Sept. 22nd only to be told it has been there since Sept.11, no Email, no phone call. Yesterday it was picked up- 5 huge boxes. However all of the components are not there and one wall is missing. After numerous phone calls I am told a credit can not be issued until all of the boxes are back in the Home Depot building and will take 4 to seven days, and a replacement can not be ordered to be delivered until I authorize a new charge on my card, which will take effect immediately. I think HD I'd very good but they need to use other floor and carpet installers other than Romanoffs. Romanoffs appears to be a massive subcontractor for subcontractors. Romanoffs scheduler manipulated and bullied me ( I'm elderly) into an installation date I didn't want. He told me HD told me wrong about installing carpet 4 wks ahead and I had to accept the 3 day window they sent me. I told them I needed weeks out because I had a trip planned. He said I'd have pay a significant restocking fee. I cancelled my trip (tears) ($900) and STARTED to get my place ready. The next day Romanoffs rescheduled my installation to May 6th! My lawyer friend told me to call HD and Romanoffs. Long story short Jay at HD got the original date back but because I lost $900 on my trip my lawyer said it would be in my best interest to cancel the order esp since Jay said he'd do whatever it would take to make me happy. I feel so fortunate to get out of that order with the help of Jay. Additionally after reading the VERY POOR reviews on Romanoffs I feel especially fortunate. I've only used the paint department here but compared to other places these people know their shit. I go straight here now and don't mess around with other places. I get quick and courteous service and they carry the Behr marquee one coat paint that I swear by. It's more expensive but you end using less and getting projects done more quickly so I can git 'er done over the weekend no problem. I just wish they would come over and tape off the walls for me. read more

Poor customer service. Manager's name is Ashley: stay away from her. They sold me something that was broken out of the box. I took it back, and it turned out all the packages in their inventory for that item were damaged. I asked if you could exchange it for a LESS EXPENSIVE ITEM. As we were exchanging it, the manager (Ashley) whispered (it's more expensive.) My friend was there and I asked him to confirm what I heard. Can't say I was surprised. The person that helped us in picking out a lawnmower was very nice and informative. He told us about different types of lawnmowers and what time we would need for our yard he also told us about how to keep the lawnmower from breaking down for example we shouldn't leave old gas in the lawnmower and use a special liquid if we do. Fun fact, you can use the old gas siphon it out and just put it in your car. read more

It's a love-hate relationship when your interactions with a customer service representative can make or break your experience, The Home Depot on Mt Moriah Road is hiring the right people! The two customer service representatives in the gardens department that I interacted with (separately) really brightened my day. After searching through a variety of plants (to replace a couple that sadly passed away this winter) an employee approached me and offered help; and help me did! He was able to answer all my questions thoroughly and give knowledgeable advice. The great experience didn't stop with him, the cashier I interacted with was extremely friendly and positive as well. I visited The Home Depot every couple of months when tackling a home project or gardening activity, and I regularly have a good experience. I'd definitely rank this store at the top of my list. read more

The refrigerator in one of the rental homes that I manage died. I trotted over to Home Depot at Mt. Moriah Rd. in Durham, NC and purchased a new refrigerator for delivery two days later. Two days later the refrigerator arrived....DAMAGED. My tenant refused the refrigerator, the right thing to do. My client the landlord ran out and purchased a refrigerator from Lowes. It was delivered the next day. I immediately upon refusal of the Home Depot refrigerator went to the store to cancel the order. A few days later I received a call from G.E. appliance, the contractor who supplies Home Depot, they wanted to deliver another refrigerator. I told them not to and cancelled the order. G.E. appliance told me to go back to the store to really, really cancel my order. I did so. On my now third trip into the store, one to buy, one to cancel and one to really, really cancel I had to interact with a customer service rep (csr) at the customer service desk who treated me with nothing but derision and contempt. On trip three into the store I insisted that the csr cancel my order and provide me with a piece of paper indicating he'd done so. There was sighing and eye rolling but he did finally cancel my order. On the trip in prior to this one, I did have to stand at the service desk for five minutes while the workers put their smocks on, greeted one another, answered the phone and generally ignored me. This trip in it was just blatant hostility. I was told once my order was cancelled that my debit card would be credited the $720 owed back to me, automatically and in five to seven days. Ten days passed and no credit. Yesterday, some sixteen days after this fiasco started I made my fourth trip to Home Depot to resolve this issue. I bypassed the customer service counter and went to the appliance department. The young woman there was helpful and pleasant and she informed me that my refund was ready. The credit did not happen automatically, additional steps were required. This delightful young woman asked me to revisit the customer service counter because she didn't want to mess up my refund. I did so and was once again treated with contempt and derision but my card was efficiently credited the $720 owed me. My take away...DO NOT BUY APPLIANCES AT THE HOME DEPOT. First, they don't stock the appliances that they sell. Secondly, their interface with their vendors is flawed and broken and finally their treatment of the consumer abysmal. Lowes might charge a few dollars more but they get the job done with efficiency. read more

As homeowners for 20+ years, we have used many services and contractors to walk along side us in both simple and major renovations. Never before have we ever experienced this level of unprofessionalism that Home Depot has shown. We had wood floors placed, new carpet, new cabinets in our bathroom and some other minor work done. There were MAJOR mishaps on every turn. We basically had to be the project managers on every job, which is what we paid Home Depot to do in the first place. I am very aware that troubles happen with any remodel and LOTS of grace has been given to things that the contractors couldn't avoid. But, SO many mishaps have happened and we can't get anyone to hear (or care for that matter) our complaints and so now it has come for our time to start voicing our opinion on any wall or blog that will hear us. The carpet people came to install our carpet and we paid a significant fee to have our furniture moved for us. Upon using our bed that night, we almost fell through as they had completely stripped our bed of all it's screws, bent the frame, etc....and now we can't get anyone to help us file a claim against the flooring company that destroyed our beautiful Maple King Size bed. We hired out another AWESOME company to do our bathroom remodel and we had hired Home Depot to install the vanity and sinks, etc....not only did they get the measurements wrong and have to come out 2 or 3 times to re-measure, but they ended up never even ordering the cabinets. It is now almost 2 months later and we have no cabinets, no sinks, no countertops, etc....every time we call to see what is going on, we are passed around on the phone to someone else and not even the managers give a hoot about how disgusted and disappointed we are with the lack of care and concern for their costumers. My husband has spent two seperate times down at the store in person trying to get to the bottom of this. We have also been there twice to let them know the countertop we have decided upon and now we get a call from the countertop company and they want to come and install, but have no idea the color we have picked. The hours we have spent running back and forth to Home Depot to solve and put out fires has been completely unprecedented. We feel like we have been so victimized and yet no one cares. The more we call, the more we get passed around because I am sure once they hear we are on the phone, no one wants to deal with us. For being what we once thought was a national and reputable company, to be treated with such disdain and disrespect has caused us to rise up and yell out that this is not acceptable. we are going to make this our mission that other families don't have to endure this kind of treatment. All of this could have been handled if a manager or corporate head had seen that every customer is valuable. Word of mouth can be toxic to your company and if they have just done what any company is expected to do from the start, this domino affect would never take place! I normally decide to drive past home depot and go to lowes instead because they have energetic employees that greet you at the doors and are always happy to help you. But from time to time I find myself having to go to this home depot and I have yet to have a pleasant experience. To start with, the employees seem to care very little for the customer. When you ask for help the response always seems to be the same, "I dont work in this department". I finally decided to write a review after today's experience of being attacked by one of the workers running returns at customer service. She accused me of throwing my receipt at her when I simply slid it under the plastic barrier. She was also not focused on my return and instead was gossiping with other employees and talking with a friend at the other counter that seemed to be her friend. I get that everyone has bad days but in customer service jobs, personal issues should never be pushed onto the customer. Another gripe is that the employees don't seem to know where anything is. I'd ask for a particular thing and I am told that they don't know where it is because they're just passing through a department and they work in a different area, or they direct me to an area where they think something is but the location of the product is actually in a completely different spot. I often use the website to see if something is available and if its available at the store it shows which aisle it should be in and the bay it should be in. However the last few times I've tried to this, the location doesn't match what the website says. That's a little petty but it seems like it could have a simple solution. In the end I this store is just very uncomfortable. The employees are rude and unhelpful, there's no one to greet you, no one asking you if you need help, no one willing to offer advice, and all of this makes for an uncomfortable experience. The customer shouldn't have to interject employees personal conversations in order to be helped. I would only go to this store again if it was the only option for a certain product, otherwise I will continue to drive past it to go to other home depots or lowes. read more

Compared to Lowe's, I have to say service here is much worse. It took me several times to find people to help. I was working on a project and needed to check out some options. The store wasn't busy and there were lots of employees around, just no one wanted to stop and help (maybe because I am a woman?) In the end, a nice man finally assisted me with cutting tools right as I left. Went here to look at carpet. They had a really good selection (better than other stores) but no one to assist. I spent approximately 20 minutes in the carpet section, also some additional time wandering around looking for an employee, but no one was around. In a department where it's impossible to spend less than $500 and impossible to buy something without assistance from an employee, I would think they would want to have someone working. How would I purchase carpet without speaking to an employee? I can't exactly just grab a roll off the shelf. I found 2 carpets at HD that I liked better than the other store, but ended up purchasing elsewhere. read more

We've visited this Home Depot a few times. The staff has always been out in force with their orange aprons in case you have any questions. We've picked up a few different plants in their garden department and have been pleased with the results. They have a lot of herbs that you can buy and plant. They cost just about what those little plastic containers do at the grocery, plus you have the chance of the plant taking off and providing you with herbs all summer.
