I'll never shop at Lowe's again. Even if they were handing out $100 bills. I purchased a physical gift card in store. Mailed it to the receiver and USPS lost the package. That's a whole 'nother issue..... I contacted Lowe's online customer disservice to get a replacement gift card. The unhelpful person handling my problem acted like I was bothering him and told me to visit the store where I made the purchase. Went to the store where I made the purchase and both ladies at customer disservice counter told me I was basically S.O.L. (mind you I purchased physical gift cards at three other retailers that promptly assisted me, investigated and determined the card had not been used and reissued replacement cards without hesitation). Lowe's there was no way to trace my purchase. Really??? Also, my husband didn't have his Lowe's credit card and the customer disservice staff gave him the run around to locate his card info. So, Home Depot, Ace and the local hardware store will be getting our business in the future. read more

At this store, I think it depends on the day and time you visit. The garden center is consistently subpar when compared to other stores. We were in the store today and the staff really rubbed me the wrong way. Yes- every one we interacted with. From the guy with the trainee in tow whom we asked to help us find an item to the two blokes sitting in the kitchen section who couldn't be bothered to assist in locating yet another item. The forklift was parked completely in front of the items we needed (detergent for power washer) couldn't find anyone to move it. And lastly, the crosswalks from the disabled parking to the store front completely blocked with riding lawnmowers that were roped together so you couldn't even go between them. Disabled husband had to walk in the car lane to the entrance from disabled parking spot. Also the air conditioning did not seem to be working today. read more

Customer service does exist just not at this location today. I'm sure there are great people who work there but I can't stop by everyday to find someone to actually help. The "management" available could be easily replaced by my five year old. Although he didn't go into a long story about dinosaurs his response to questions was about the same. A Lowes installer came out to install our screen door. The door didn't come with hinges (which Millworks should have known when I special ordered the screen door four months ago) so he took my old screen door and the new one back to Lowe's to get hinges. Someone there told him they'd have to return my special-order screen door and order another one and that they couldn't give him hinges. He left my special-order screen door at Lowe's and still has my old screen door. I texted him and told him to come back to reinstall my old screen door. He was supposed to come back that afternoon. I went to Lowe's that night and talked to Bruce, who used to work in Millworks, and Jeni, who works in the flooring section. They gave me the hinges. Jeni called Sergio Garcia and he told her he'd come back the next day between 12-2 pm to install my special-order screen door. At 3 pm the next day, I called him, left a message, and sent him a text message. I called Jeni at your store and she called him as well with no avail. My wife was already in town so she went to Lowes and talked to the store manager. The manager said they'd have to contact the installer, Summit Installations, to reschedule the installation. They came out two weeks later to install our screen door. The door was damaged, and the installer put multiple holes in places that weren't supposed to have holes! He was even giving my wife attitude and was very unprofessional. We contacted the store manager again who said we'd have to buy another door and find someone to install it or install it ourselves! Once our new door was installed, we could return the damaged screen door. We went back to Lowes three weeks later to return our damaged, special-ordered screen door. We had to wait until we bought the correct door, that should have been recommended to us in the first place, and have my dad come over from Arkansas to help me install it. After the return desk employee finally got off of the phone from answering phone calls to the store (we waited for 10 minutes), he told us we had to get manager approval to return it because we were past the 90 day window. The screen door was installed three weeks ago on 4 Aug!!!! I found Tim, who works in Millworks, and he said we'd have to come back to the store tomorrow so the right people would be there to talk to the installer so we could get our money back. DO NOT buy a door from Lowes and have them install it. You can't make this sh!t up.....unbelievable. I'm NEVER going to shop there again. read more

[As of April 30, 2021] Another trip to Lowe's for necessary "Home Improvement" items! I had a list of things to grab and sometimes, it can still be a scavenger hunt to find some items even with the hanging signs. Today, staff was on point with their customer service! Eric was able to assist me with with choosing a weed killer. He personally likes to go natural when it comes to landscape upkeep, so I definitely appreciated him staying strong near these chemicals (inside joke). When it came to cashing out, Lowe's staff seemed to not notice the heavy traffic of people entering the store. That would potentially mean more cashiers being available to avert a long checkout line...or at least open self-checkout. Jennifer was the only cashier on the floor managing at least 20 customers. Thankfully, she served us with a smile despite being alone with us impatient customers! This is the Lowe's to come to. This is the worst Lowe's I've ever encountered. On multiple occasions the employees/ management have treated me poorly. Lance in the lighting department has a mouth on him, that he should never be allowed to be in management. He is extremely rude. And Ethan the assistant manager is a joke doesn't do anything to try and make the customer happy or leave satisfied. If I was anyone I'd shop at Home Depot or Menards over Lowe's. They know the basics to customer service. Lowes customer service is poor and they do not care if they treat you badly. I ordered one item online for curbside pickup. The app said to come pick it up 6:45 and check in online so we know you are on your way. Get to Lowes, park, enter the spot number on their app (just like Target). I sit and wait. Four songs play. I call the number the app provides if there's a problem. I call, they have no idea I have checked in. It is now 7:30. I have them get the order. I go back to the vehicle. I wait 7:45....they close in 15 minutes. Still nothing. I go back. After 25 years years of using Lowe's almost exclusively I am done with them. I went tonight and the store was almost empty of customers. I needed help in aisle 16 and can find no worker to assist me. I asked the two cashiers working in front who are just standing there if they can call someone to assist me in aisle 16. They announced it on store speaker. No one come. After 10 minutes I ask two employees at the contractor desk to call for help and they do again. They of course are just sitting and talking no customers. Again no one come. I wait ten minutes and again out loud ask for help from Burt and Ernie and no one comes. Then I leave and call the store customer service who puts me on hold to speak to the manager. Guess what? My husband and I did extensive research on the appliances we wanted and decided to purchase from Lowes. The financial part of the transaction went without a hitch. We were given a delivery date and delivery time range between 10am and 2pm, 6/26 our delivery date and its well after 2pm. I called Lowes for 40 minutes talked to the same CSR, who later told me he could have checked my order status but chose to make me wait on hold for an ungodly amount of time. Wasted an entire day waiting for a delivery. A representative called me the day before the delivery saying it would arrive between 8AM-12PM. No one showed up, so I called the store and was told the delivery time changed from 1PM-5PM. No one bothered to contact me about this delivery time change. I have been looking for windows and doors for the rental property I just bought and this is the only place with actual stock in store. Almost every other store around including other Lowes had very limited options for windows and I was told custom windows would be 5-6 weeks out. So I am so happy I stopped here. Okay LONG Rant... cuz I can't get reparations until the job is finished! I ordered 3 windows and a sliding patio door to include the screen in 7/2022. Its 10/2023 and I have 2 screen doors and no rollers to install them. Install was supposed to be in Mar, we are in Oct and they keep sending me screen doors without the rollers that are used to operate the door? They call me every 7 days to say they will call me back in 48 hours to make sure I'm being taken care of. 7 days later they call to see if job is complete? Long story long 14 months+ later and 2 screen doors in the garage. WTH?! This experience has been less than pleasurable. I was promised a 4 month lead time for doors from July 2022. Windows were in stock October 2022 BUT had to wait for door to come in to get install. Door came in November but the soonest they could come was March 2023. I have had installers here at least 4-5 times and still not completed. Unable to speak with anyone that can help. I have had to take off time from work to accommodate the installers and it not completed. read more

A nice lady (I so wish I had caught her name) helped me find the correct 2 dozen 8 foot light bulbs and 5 matching fixture ballasts that I needed. She was the best ever! Does anyone here actually work? Came in here with my husband to look for stuff for the house we just bought. We went to several departments and not a single person acknowledged our existence. First we went to the appliances section but it was busy so we said we would circle back. When we went to the kitchen counter area THE FIRST TIME there was someone there and as soon as we got there he got up and left... so we said we would come back. After going through the rest of the store we went back to the counter section there was TWO employees there, both immediately ignored us and tried to avoid eye contact. So we went up to the lady at the computer and it was the most awkward and rude encounter ever. We asked a simple question and she responded to us like we were absolutely crazy. Then after my husband said "ok sorry" because she made him so uncomfortable she proceeded to tell him that she doesn't even work in that department she works in appliances. I said oh ok we are going to go there next (we wanted to buy a washer and dryer but apparently nobody wanted to make a sale that night). The lady says "ok" and stays there.... So of course she didn't help us in her own department. It's not like the store was busy... it wasn't, they just ignored us which is pretty unfortunate. Bought a refrigerator from Lowe's store people were great Josh and delivery was great at the store level but they contract up to a company called CDI to do their home delivery for refrigerators and appliances they came to my house two days late and then said they couldn't get it in my house when the refrigerator I bought was smaller than the one that was in my kitchen rude uncooperative unprofessional downright nasty and then left my new refrigerator in my driveway and left so I cannot recommend them for anything I would give them zero stars if I could read more

I purchased a range and hood from Lowes in Fairview Heights which I was advised would be delivered this afternoon between 2 & 4 so I took off work early to be home for the delivery. The installer called me at 2:24 and said that Loews couldn't find my range. They then located it, but it was too late to have it installed today. Stopped in for a gas grill and unrelated hardware and found everything I needed quickly. I was helped immediately in the outdoor section, and after a few moments my new grill was located and moved from it's perch near the store's ceiling to the loading area in front of the store. He helped me load it into my truck too. The employees at this location are always friendly and helpful which is why I keep returning. The checkout cashier was also very pleasant! One word of warning though, the store is located in a very busy part of town with car accidents galore. Keep your head on a swivel. read more

I will never do business with Lowe's again. I ordered an umbrella for a patio table online, along with a base. The two had to be purchased at different locations as one location didn't have both items that I wanted in stock. I received an email a little after 5 am that both items were ready for pickup from the Lowe's locations. I live a little over 30 minutes away from the Fairview Heights store and that was the closest store that had the umbrella available. I arrive in the evening and the customer service associate was prompt in helping me, however, I'm told that the umbrella was unavailable...again, I received an email that this was ready for pickup and now I'm being told I just drove all the way out here to find out that the umbrella wasn't in stock and they can't do anything to help me other than to cancel the order. Fortunately there is a Menards about 7 minutes away in O'Fallon, IL. I went there and got exactly what I wanted and even saved $10 with buying the base from them as well. I've done a lot of business with Lowe's in the past and I never thought I'd say this but I will no longer be doing business with them. read more

I ordered some flooring for my home from Bruce in the flooring dept & he was excellent with his customer service. He had customers calling, asking question, trying to place orders & he was being paged. He stayed professional & calm. Also he took care everyone he was capable of taking care of. With my order it took a long time because he had to contact the flooring company (Cali Bamboo) & it was a long process. They gave me a incredible deal for the floors that I ordered. Ever wait 15 minutes for a clerk to show up in plumbing just to tell you this isn't their department? Ever wait 15 minutes for a paint clerk to get off her break, then the four other people who came to the counter after you all start yelling they are first? I purchased a refrigerator on June 30th from Fairview Heights Lowes. It was to be delivered on July 7th. July 7th they called and said it would be the 8th because one of their delivery people didn't show up for work. The 8th they called and said the refrigerator was dented, do we still want it? So, July 25th, called them again, asked when refrigerator would be delivered. They respond with, well we had one for you on July 8th and you didn't want it. No $*%&! It was dented! So they say, we will order another one for you. WHAT! You didn't order another one when the first one arrived damaged? They tell us there is one at the warehouse, we can deliver it on July 29th. We call Lowes July 29th and the lady in the appliance department says, I was just about to call you. We have a refrigerator for you but it is damaged. I talk to the manager, who says he can order us a new one. I ask him, when the first one arrived at your store damaged, why didn't you order another one then? No answer. Lowes just got a month interest free loan and I got the shaft. Thanks for absolutely NOTHING LOWES!!! Next time I will order my refrigerator directly from China. I bet it will get here quicker. read more
