If you need to buy simple things like door knobs or hardware Lowe's is a good place to buy this. If you need a patio door or garage door opener or any service DO NOT go to Lowes! We purchased a garage door opener plus installation because we got a quote from a garage door company and it was $500. We thought we would save money by purchasing a good one from Lowes for $150 plus $100 for installation. Well, it turned out we ended up paying about $475 because of add on charges because they never asked the measurements of our garage and there were add on charges. We are now stuck with a garage opener that does work BUT the carriage is flimsy and is quite noisy. Also, we purchased a patio door we thought was a regular size but it was 1/2 inch too big so it wouldn't work so they picked it up assuring our credit card would be reimbursed plus the delivery charge. I called Lowes stating we were still being charged almost $600 for this door that was returned a MONTH AGO and milkwort said they would "look into it"! I will NEVER buy any service from Lowe's again! read more

Do not visit this Lowe's for cabinets no matter how awesome their cabinet section looks. I first went to pick out my cabinets on August 16th. Since then I've been passed to three people who have all made promises they've failed to keep. Their communication skills are abysmal. I suggest going with a local cabinet company. As my project was rather small, I ended up going to the Home Depot in Smyrna. Dan, HD's cabinet guy, had someone at my house within 2 days and a quote to me within a week. HORRIBLE SERVICE, LIKE THEIR TIME WAS WAY MORE IMPORTANT THAN OURS!!!! We went during our lunch hour top pick up a quick item. The item was caged so someone had to come open the cage. Took us asking them twice to send someone up front to get our item. Then, we found out they were sold out and waited all that time for nothing. So then we had to wait for them to give us a refund. I generally like Lowe's however my recent online order via this location left much to be desired. The web said there were 3 of the type of washing machine I ordered in stock and that it would be delivered the next day. After ordering the washing machine I was called and informed that my order was cancelled. They didn't even check neighboring stores which if they did they would have learned that there were some in stock nearby. I need to provide another 2 star review for that store (Spring Hill) as they call to arrange the "next day" delivery in 8 days. Will be looking at competitor stores for future purchases. read more

Was really underwhelmed by the prices compared to my local Home Depot! The staff were friendly but I did not feel if they were as willing and friendly as the Home Depot staff. Rather new to the home improvement area and after trying both I definitely think that Home Depot is the place for advice and purchases for me. read more

It took two months to get our washer and dryer. When they arrived they didn't work. I had to then purchase new ones waiting another two weeks for the replacements which arrived dented. The deliver drivers that brought them went on a racist rant, cursed profusely that they had to pick up the old set and damaged our walls. We didn't even get the full refund for the original set that was sent back. The delivery manager who was rude the first time we dealt with him, LAUGHED when we told him about the second delivery issues. The GM, Greg, was supposed to call us back and never did. The corporate office has been saying they'd call us back "in 24 to 48 hours" every time we've called and it's been a week. Lowe's should be embarrassed from their lack of accountability and leadership, poor customer service and the false promises they've made along the way. In this now two and a half ordeal I just want the money I was promised back and the damage to my property fixed so I can be done with this company for good. I usually shop at Home Depot since it is near my office, but today we where near Lowes and decided to look at some ceiling fans. I must say that not only was the employee that helped us knowledgeable, he could not have worked any harder to make sure we had exactly what we wanted - which in this case was 3 different fans. When the computer said the last fan we wanted was in stock - but evidently misplaced - he searched everywhere trying to find it until we told him not to worry about it since we already had 2 in the cart and could order the third through their website. I even had to ask him once to not worry about us for a minute and help another customer that needed assistance. It was apparent he truly cared about our satisfaction and hated to "give up." read more

My review is on flooring only...If you are considering laminate or wood flooring don't waste your time,,I was given an estimate and told that if any changes were needed in would be "very small" ...2 days before install they sent someone out who told me that they could finish the install but would need to charge 5 thousand dollars to "fix" what needed to be done before they could install the floors..needless to say I went with another company and wont ever consider Lowes again buyers beware they will change the price on you don't waste your time. read more

Terrible experience. Terrible store. I went to this location looking for baby proofing items such as out let covers, etc. I was sent to 4 separate locations by 4 separated and moderately helpful associates. After the 4th stop I waited at the service for 10 minutes to speak to a manger and entry sky had to call to speak to him. I wasted my lunch break on something I can order on Amazon in 5 minutes. I just left the store where I had to call the front desk from my phone to try and get someone from flooring to help us. After waiting 10 more minutes we left. This paired with the Christmas tree I had to drag through the main checkout because the garden entrance was closed, strap onto my own car, and then witness die days later because no was available to cut the bottom, I'm done. read more

I certainly wish there was a way to get reliable help with anything construction or home repair without being a contractor. But since our area is obsessed with new construction the rest of us get half-effort service. We went through Lowe's in Franklin, who sent these guys from A-1 Heating & Cooling in PULASKI, of all places. (WTH??) NEVER AGAIN WILL WE USE LOWE'S FOR PROJECTS. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME TERRIBLE OUT-SOURCED-CONTRACT COMPANIES HAVE DONE SHOTTY WORK AND LOWE'S PROMISES BUT FAILS TO DELIVER. Matt & some silent guy did the typical work-as-fast-as-you-can-to-be-done-by-4:00 routine and then blow smoke up your hind end about how much pride they take in their work. He told us all the things he did right. Yes, he did install out upstairs HVAC unit located in the attic but "had to leave" without making sure it was working effectively. And then told stories about how he'd have to do the heat when they came back (because it's now 4:00, oh & it's Friday). Promising to return on Monday ... we then don't see or hear from him until he shows up unannounced over a week later. Promising the heat works great, and what pride they take in cleaning up their workspace my husband signed off on a job completed. BIG MISTAKE. Sharp screws all over the carpet in my walk-in closet where the attic door is located. In the attic the old unit still sits... and all the left over materials strewn around. What in the H? That's not even remotely professional! And a month later when the heat index is 102, it's like we never even got a new unit. A-1 sends out a repair guy. "I'm not hauling anything away, I don't do installs. I'm just the repair guy." He tells us that Matt over charged the compressor and now it should be working fine. He takes the time to point out what a great job he's done because it's now after 6pm on a Friday and he's still working. "Because you aren't done until the job is done." Yeah... well, 45 mins later it's hotter than ever upstairs and nothing was better. My husband calls Lowe's to "rip them a new one" and the dude calls back. Turns out he's the one on call tonight from A-1. But he says: "I'm not coming back tonight." He says he'll be here tomorrow. Well it's tomorrow. And he called to say "oops! It's Sat. My bad. I'll see you Monday." ON THE HOTTEST WEEKEND ON RECORD. I had to sleep downstairs on the sofa. We have to have it freezing downstairs so that upstairs doesn't hit 90. I cannot even believe how UNPROFESSIONAL and SHOTTY this place is. And furthermore...after now having had multiple home-improvement projects go horribly wrong because we went through Lowe's... my husband made me PROMISE to never let him go through them again. Good luck MdTn. So far we've never had anyone do us right in the HVAC world. read more

If we could post a minus rating we would! Lowe's subcontracted Fences Unlimited Inc. to install our deck. On August 7th, Doug's team came out, after the second day we noticed that many boards being used had big slits going all the way down, large knots on the ends and sides (some knots created holes in the boards), another joist should have been installed as when the contractor screwed in the screws most of the heads were put in sideways with the heads still sticking up above the wood along with the wood splitting to the end. One post had a huge knot in it and should of never been used, another couple of posts had large slits all the way down the wood (they are now getting larger) and so on. We immediately called our salesperson at Lowe's to let him know, he referred us to an 888 number where we started many, many conversations regarding our concerns and dissatisfaction with the wood. The next day Fences Unlimited came back and removed all their equipment, left the deck unfinished, no stairs, no side-rails and left an opening - no boards up along the house/door which in itself is a major safety hazard as our dog's leg fell thru the unfinished deck. On August 10th, Doug (the owner of Fences Unlimited Inc.) came out to inspect the deck. He did agree that another joist should have been installed, a post needed to be replaced and offered to throw in 10 boards. This was not acceptable. We have had 3 independent contractors out to view our deck project and all 3 have pointed out additional issues that we as layman would not know. What was also pointed out to us is no joist hangers were used, one of the posts was free standing on a paver that is located on top of sand. The deck is attached to the building with masonry screws instead of bolts and the list goes on. Each contractor has stated that the installed wood is not prime wood and of a low grade. Everyone finds it hard to believe how much we paid for a substandard product and that Lowe's would not stand behind their guarantees. We had been going back and forth with Lowe's, the last and final offer was to replace 25 boards (10 supplied by the contractor). This is unacceptable as there are way more than 25 boards that are of poor quality. We now have 5 out of the 8 4"x4" support posts (one of which is not even set in concrete); warped and leaning from the middle up. Again, highlighting what poor quality wood was used to build our deck. One of the contractors whom we had come out asked if the deck was permitted. I called the city permitting department we live in and found out that the contractor did not pull a permit. The Lowe's "Services Solutions Installed Sales Contract", Terms and Conditions, Section 7 - it states "The Installer shall be solely responsible to Customer for obtaining any and all licenses, registrations, certifications, and permits which are legally required to perform the Installation Services". This was not done. Our city requires a permit to be pulled for any deck installations. The contractor should know that if he conducts work in this town. I met with the Permitting Operations Supervisor for the City. After reviewing our job, he stated that this project is not Code Compliant and needs to be removed. There are many structural issues with the deck and this will not pass any inspection. Per our contract, Lowe's does warrant that the Installation Services will be performed by the Installer in a good and workmanlike manner. This was not done. We do know Fences Unlimited Inc. has since filed for a permit, we know that on September 10th the permit did not pass and Fences Unlimited Inc. was provided a list of what the city needed. We do know the contractor provided information and the application is suppose to be reviewed again. Our previous letter dated on August 28th was forwarded to Lynne, Executive Customer Relations for Lowe's, we have spoken to her on many occasions. To date we still do not know what the plan is. We are beyond our patience levels as there are still no answers and when we ask "what is your plan", we are told that will not be shared with us at this time. We have spent countless hours of our time dealing with this mess. All we have been told is "mistakes have been made". Yes, they have and at our expense. Do yourself a favor and learn from our mistake. We were told Fences Unlimited is the contractor for 8 stores, and Lowe's is giving them more so check to see who the contractor is before you sign any contract. Furthermore, the Customer Service at Lowe's leaves much to be desired. I hope their new CEO will take a look at the customer relations crisis and act accordingly. read more

Don't use Lowes for anything that requires a sub-contractor! I have done two jobs with Lowes both have been total disasters. First job was a $10,000 tile floor job which still is a major problem for us 5 years later and needs major repairs for the 7th time, all the same issue. Second job was an HVAC a year ago, again total disaster! Our AC has been down three times in 4 months. Don't bother calling their warranty number they wont call you back because once Lowes has your money they don't care any more. My house now needs $15,000 worth of carpet which I will be buying from some where else! We have learned our lesson! Terrible quality control, they wont stand behind the job. Custom Shower glass...Lowes estimate was a little more than twice the quote of Genisis on Liberty Pike in Franklin near the Factory. I have spent too much money at Lowes since 2009 and this estimate ticked me off. Glass Doctor was the salesman for them and he bragged about just signing a contract with Lowes in Febuary. I expressed concern to Lowes sales dept. when they phoned me to set up install appt. He didn't seem to care. BUY LOCAL is my reccomendation. Folks at Genisis are awesome, kind and prompt. read more

Terrible customer service: I went in at a time when the store was not busy to buy baseboard. I needed 2 12' sections each cut in half to fit in my vehicle. I asked a gentleman in woodworking where the saw was to cut the trim. He replied that the saw was broken. I asked if they had a hand saw that I could use. The answer was no. He went back to straightening pieces. I put the trim away and left. I will go to Home Depot instead. Imagine, asking to use a saw in a home improvement store! Terrible customer service. I have never been so mad at a business until ordering a washer and dryer from Lowes in Franklin, TN. For the first order, they called shortly before the appliances were supposed to be delivered and told us they were out of stacking kits worldwide. The second time, we got a different brand and they called us the day before to let us know they didn't get the appliances in and didn't know when they would (said it could be another 2 weeks). The third time, when they were delivered, the dryer was broken. I highly recommend never buying your appliances from this store. We'll have to see if 4th times the charm. read more

What used to be the best place to purchase building supplies has slipped to the bottom. Service it not what it used to be. Salesperson was terrible in door department, when I asked to work with someone else I was told I needed to work with my assigned salesperson. I purchased 2 Jeld-Wen 119" patio door. Weeks later I received a phone call on installation day and man on phone asked if I personally could assist him unload the door. He stated he had no help. I explain that my husband had back surgery and was unable to help. His helper had just had blood clot surgery. Doors were delivered to back yard for installers to place. When installers arrived wrong trim had been ordered and hardware was missing. The doors could not be left outdoors in the elements, so I recommended them move them to our basement. For weeks my husband could not park his F150 in our garage. When another attempt at installation day rolled around - our installer was ill. We understandingly rescheduled. While installing, Lowe's manager called one of the two contractors away for another job. Now this is after we have been waiting for 4 months to get 2- very expensive doors installed. Now we have the remains of our original doors in our backyard and doors are still not trimmed out properly. We have left numerous messages with Lowe's and the installation team. I have 25 women I'm entertaining 3/13, I expected to have doors painted and window treatments installed. I would love to post my photos for you to view. read more
