Stopped in the other day to pick up a few things and get some ideas for the house. There were very few people, so not a lot of demand on the staff. However, every section we aviaries within the store was clean, organized and had team members that were friendly, approached us offering to help or provide information on products. From appliances, to flooring, to windows and doors. Pretty great customer service and very attentive to our needs. Always great discounted items toward the back of the store for things you didn't plan on buying, but because the prices are huge markdowns... you will leave with something. LOL. I went in to Lowe's to buy a stand up air conditioner, but they're weren't any on the shelves. So my wife and I went up to one of the help desk up front to see if they had any in back. Apparently they couldn't check their inventory. They told us to go home and get the number off of the air conditioner we purchased last week at the same Lowe's '. What? After asking if they could look up our previous purchase and save us a trip, we just got the eye roll. It's bad enough that typically there is next to no customer service in this place, and when you try to get it they point you in a direction and let you wander for 20 minutes, but to have to put up with rude employees too. This isn't an aberration. If you want your day to go better, stay away from this place. read more

The customer service at the Layton Lowes is horrendous. We purchased blinds and a barn door for our home and have had nothing but issues with both. Customer service has not been able to fix the situation in three months and the manager is unwilling to engage to correct things. We ordered blinds for the house and there were problems with getting the measurements taken, getting them installed, and then fixing problems afterwards. One blind was too short and had to be replaced. It was roughly two months before the job was complete. We ordered a barn door for our pantry and it came in damaged twice. Now it's been about 3 months and we still do not have a door and they just indicated delivery has been delayed until next month. The experience has been horrible. I recommend you go elsewhere. We purchased a barn door for the office from Home Depot and it is installed and looks good. read more

No help to be found here! There are a lot of employees on the floor, but none are actually able to help. They are equipped with hand-held inventory locators, but do not seem to be able to locate the items in the warehouse to save their lives. We're just trying to buy a tool chest for our son. I liked this Lowe's. I only went to the plant section and I was in heaven! I'm a house plant fiend and was so happy to see some uncommon ones on the shelf. Also enjoyed how clean it was! The plant area was well taken care of and organized. Not to mention easy to navigate around the shelves. No messy half dead plants just sitting around on the floor like the Lowe's I'm used to. I didn't walk around the store much but from what I saw it was very clean. I can't say I would be a fan of how it's organized. There didn't seem to be any real rhyme or reason behind how the place was organized with isles being crossed by a wall of shelf forcing you to walk around them. read more

Went to the Layton store needing to order Trex. Cashier said Jeremy was helping another customer, but would help us when he was done. We stood off to the side waiting for Jeremy for 30 minutes while he was chatting up the customer with stories. Finally went the other customer left, we approached Jeremy asking for his help to order the Trex, and he told us we could figure it out ourselves and ship it to the store. At this point I was fuming. Walked back to the cashier to ask for a manager to help us since Jeremy refused & that manager looked like he was half asleep while we told him the issue. Didn't even apologize. Oh, after we walked away from said sleepy manager-we saw Jeremy help another guy out. Jeremy is a real POS and the Layton store sucks. We won't ever return. I'd give zero stars if I could! read more

Terrible! I was expecting a refrigerator delivery from Lowe's yesterday. As required, I carved 4 hours out of my day for this delivery. I get a text that they will arrive in about 40 minutes. in 25 minutes I get a call from a dispatcher stating that they are at my house. With her on the phone I walk out and there was nobody there. She verifies my address, correct... but she asks me if I have a picture of a cactus at my front door, I answer no. Then she asks if I have lattice next to my door, no I don't, I say. So she tells me they are at the wrong house. Yeah, clearly! Then she tells me I have to reschedule because they are headed back to the store with my refrigerator! NO! There is still 2 hours until the end of the timeframe they gave me! The delivery people have one job! Go to the address on file and bring the appliance into the house! How about typing the address correctly into the gps and bringing it over right now?! No, that was too hard for them. Then I ask to talk to a manger. I got to talk to Gary. He said he would call the "account manager" to se what he could do to for me and would call me right back. After 15 minutes I called Gary back. Guess what manager Gary did for me..... HE WENT HOME! There's JB Hunt customer service for you! Lowe's uses this awful company to represent them, delivering their products. No more shopping at Lowe's for me. We bought three $50 gift cards for Amazon at Lowe's in Layton on Christmas Eve. On December 26... Two of the cards activate it with no problem. The third card would not scan the barcode... It would not accept the digits that were entered. Six we tried six different times but no luck. Today Monday, December 27 I went to the Lowes store at 4:30. It is now 555 and I still have not received any satisfaction. The sales clerk told me that they could not return gift cards... Even though this one had not been activated or used. She said I need to talk with a manager who was interviewing someone. I'm a professional... This by far was the longest interview that I've ever heard of. I finally have left the store and lost $50. Part of the Christmas gifts for my family.Amazon says it was a third-party and they cannot do anything about it. I'd and just at a loss of words of the whole situation. As a person who has shops in Lowes for many many years, I've never really had to return anything to the store. But I truly believe Lowes should have given me another gift card to replace the one that did not work. I even tried to activate it while in front of the sales clerk and she saw that it did not go through and the code that was given. I am very very frustrated I feel really hurt. I just cannot believe that the only manager on duty has been in an interview for an hour and a half. I just refused to believe that. I really don't know what to do. Right now I'm leaving the store and I've given Lowes $50 and I have nothing to show for it. This is really sad because it was a Christmas gift. I absolutely hate this store. The workers there look like they hate their lives and avoid helping you at all cost. They see you looking around and don't bother to ask you if you need help. If you approach one they make you feel like you're bothering them. I had one lady in the flower department actually sigh when I ask her a question. You could tell she hated her job so much. she was blasting the plants with water at full force. She had a complete RBF. If you walk in the home Depot, the store is packed with people. You walk into Lowe's and there's no one there. This is for a reason. Their customer service sucks. We waited forever one time for an associate to help us buy a washer and dryer. We waited an hour and then said screw this and went to BestBuy where we were helped immediately and ended up purchasing over $2000 worth of merchandise that Lowes could have had if they had better employees. I decided to give them another chance and bought a dishwasher online because it was on sale. this is the only store that I know that gives you a window of 12 hours to deliver their product. I completely wasted my entire day waiting around for these clowns. On top of all of this, when I first purchase the dishwasher online oh, I called customer service to set up installation. she had the nerve to tell me to go back into the store and have them cancel my online order and pay for it at the store and set up installation there so it would be easier for her. I was like, what the hell is the point in having online service if I have to go into the store to cancel it and buy it again there? I ended up going with an outside installer. I was like, I am not giving that stupid company any more of my money. This lady clearly didn't want to help me because again Lowe's employees suck! I'm done with Lowes. I cannot emphasize how much they suck. They do not have near the selection that home Depot has. The home Depot employees are so nice and so helpful. I've read the reviews of this place and I have to agree with the bulk of them. In my case it was that I contacted the install people about replacing my deck. An appointment was scheduled and Brennan came out to the house. We went over what we wanted, he had to return to the store to get us an accurate quote for the job. It was much lower than everyone else we tried, so we decided to go with them. He returned the next day with samples of the material for the deck. Now he informs us that he made a mistake in the quote. The metal railing we wanted would be an extra $3000 on top of the original quote! He recommended going with a vinyl railing which you shouldn't lean on or else it'll collapse. What? The person they use to actually do the work will be by in a couple of days to remeasure the deck and go over the contract with us. We took time to think about it and decided to go with some one else. BUT, we didn't have to inform Lowe's of this. No one has called or come by since Brennan's visit on May 19. I think they forgot us. read more

I usually go to the other big box home improvement store because it's so close to my house but increasingly lately I find that they don't have what I'm looking for, so I come here and I'm always impressed at how nice and clean this store is kept compared to the other and they have a better selection of screws & fasteners. I only dock them one star because they don't seem to have self checkout yet so lines can form at the registers and nobody wants to wait in line these days. If I lived closer to this store then it would be my first choice. read more

We spent a lot of money on our floors, and they really let us down, over and over. The sales team did a good job of explaining the "tongue in groove" feature that keeps the floor pieces connected. Well let me tell you, they have not stayed as advertised. As you can see in the photos, things are looking like a less-than-$6000 job. I understand that big projects will have hiccups here and there, but I feel like this one was installed poorly. They apparently measure once, and refused to make extra cuts to correct any missteps. A bad install alone doesn't warrant a one star review; but they just keep showing me corners they cut. They entered our names weird when they made our account, so nobody can ever help us on the phone. Every time I call, they can't find my account, or they can't find my purchase(s). I have to go to their warehouse to get customer service; and I'm a fully disabled veteran, with fairly severe mobility issues... it makes me feel like I can't get help from them when I need it. Then they refuse to repair their shoddy installs because it's been two years, but I can't get into the store whenever I need help. So, we're getting to the point that our floors are just too obviously installed poorly, and I wasted my time calling for help again. The representative on the phone treated me as if I was lying about my floor install, and surprisingly couldn't find my floor purchase, which validated her suspicions. Longer story short, they did not install my floors properly, their customer service is inadequate for persons with disabilities (ADA), and until they get my floors looking like the six thousand plus dollar job they should look like, and figure out a way to fix my account so i can get distant support, they get a one star review. read more

This Lowe's has always taken great care of me. I have not met an employee who didn't try to help when I asked. Today I needed to write a review because I got a bad paint match so I brought it back in and the crew did everything they could to make it right and did. They called up a more experienced person who showed another way to do the color match, didn't make me go get a refund and repurchase, apologized for the mistake earlier and made sure I knew that they were here all day if I needed anything. Reflecting on it, this has been a great Lowe's to get what I need. read more

I stopped shopping Lowe's entirely because of repeated bad experiences at this store. I begrudgingly made an online purchase that required a store pick up. The employee 'helping' me (helping is used VERY loosely here) neglected to mention that a specific sale was going on today that would qualify me for 10% percent off my purchase. I had spent nearly $150 so my savings would have been reasonably sizable. The last time I was there, I was pushing a full cart of cement pavers outside. Two employees stopped to talk and blocked the entire pathway. They never made eye contact as I had to abruptly stop the super full and heavy cart and turn around. Not sure if it's the employees' blatant stupidity or inconsideration that causes the problems. Maybe it's the lack of training or professionalism. I have NEVER had a good experience here at this Lowes. I can actually say this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Workers are lazy and unhelpful. The "dude" with the gold chain that is always upfront is absolutely rude and needs to learn how to speak to customers. I am not his "dude" or "bro". I went one time to look for a mounting level and I approached 3 employees that were chit chatting have a good time. I actually had to say excuse me 2 times to get the attention of one employee (guy with long hair). First off he was rude, second he pointed "over there" and 3rd where he told me it was , was in the completely wrong place. Convenient, well stocked for the things I need, clean and less cluttered than many other such stores, they give me my military discount on every in-stock item I purchase, returns are easy, they keep a running list of all my orders, their curbside pickup is among the best and quickest. We bought our last refrigerator there 2 years ago and had the best experience ever buying an appliance. I don't understand all the negative reviews. I have had a very few less than great experiences there and I go at least a couple of times a month. Maybe it's because, based on many other reviews of other companies I have read on Yelp, nasty, clever, meandering, and uninformative reviews seem to get top billing there. read more

I'm frustrated that I order carpet and laminate flooring no problem getting the measurements that company does a great job they have done work for us previous. After some thought we decided to change to total laminate flooring in 2 bedrooms and he master bedroom and take the stairs off, is what we told Stephaine in flooring. She said 24 to 48. We went back in to see if our order was ready! So she changed everything stairs included to all laminate. We told John that that wasn't what we told her to take off the stairs! Third time in I talked to Stephaine today and she couldn't find my order for the longest time and she told me that the stairs are still there and it was all carpet! I got mad and told her to cancel my order! Now I'm short on my lunch break I wanted to to talk to a manager. Um...no you can call the manufacturer after yo u pay me back. She gave my husband a hard time he came home and got me and I wouldn't leave till I got the return. She argued back and forth with me. I called corporate to report her. She was terrible. She wouldn't tell me her name or give me the corporate number. What a bitch. The assistant manager came over and did it for me. I can not speak for the sales floor of this store, however I can for the dock. Arrived 20 minutes early for load drop appointment . Took 10 minutes to find an employee that worked dock(now we have 10 minutes before appointment ) . Told they will open the door at appointment time. No problem however They have been unloading for 3 20 minutes. We are the only rig here. They are Not unloading by hand and there are 3 of them off loading. This is by far the most understaffed not to mention poorly trained Lowes I've had to buy from. Most recently I waited for 5 minutes to check out (behind 7 people) and as the employee FINALLY ushers us to her, another employee (on the phone) moves in one foot in front of us and sets crap down on the counter and camps out while chatting on the phone, completely blocking us from the other employee. Instead of informing her co worker that he was in the way she just waited for him to tell her something and ignored us. After 20 seconds of politely waiting, I began handing the large swamp cooler pads on his shoulder and head to get the point across. Once she came to the total, he was still in front of me! I will NEVER shop at Lowe's again...not in Layton or anywhere. Here's what: I've been to the Lowe's on Antelope Drive eight times. Each and every time I walked into the store, there was a call for security to check the camera on the exact aisle I was shopping. I teach English Language Arts; not math. Still, I know a statistical anomaly when I see one. But, I wanted to make sure. So, I conducted an experiment. I recruited several students to help me. We all dressed in similar attire: jeans, hoodie, sunglasses and athletic shoes. There were 3 Caucasian students, 3 Latino(a) students and 4 African-American students. We, individually, entered the store over a two (2) day period, at staggered hours. There was no call for security to watch anything when the Caucasian students entered the store. There were two (2) calls for security when the Latino(a) students entered the store. When the African-American students entered the store, there was a call for security each and every time. Moreover, in every instance, the African-American students reported that store personnel came to the aisle and pretended to be "fronting" shelves, but were really watching the student's every move. To test the veracity of the student's report, we conducted the experiment a third time. This time, we sent in African-American students and had Caucasian students follow behind them. Each was dressed in a sort of yuppie manner: Docker-type trousers, button down shirts, and casual shoes. No sunglasses or hoodies. The Caucasian students reported security was requested to check monitors almost immediately when the African-American students entered the store. The Caucasian students also reported that there was a flurry of store activity in the aisles where the African-American students were shopping. I'm not from Utah. What's more, I've lived on both coasts and in the South. Still, I have never, in the 50+ years I've lived, evidenced such blatant and pervasive bias as I've experienced at Lowe's on Antelope Drive in Layton, UT. I'm left to wonder what's next? read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, bought carpet for our house and took them 30 days to just get the order right and shipped to the store. There was nothing custom about the carpet btw. I had to constantly call and keep on them because they couldn't care less about me once they got my money upfront. The associate that was assigned to me once I purchased it never contacted me once or checked on the status of my shipment. . Poor customer service! Will Never go there again! bought a washer and dryer and a pan to go under my washer. I did not need the pen so I went to return it. The guy in Customer service could not find the purchase. So I went to find the person who sold it to me. I could not find him but I did find Judy. Judi was able to find it and printed the receipt. So I took the receipt to the guy in customer service. And he looked it up and said it still wasn't there. He expected me to just go home and leave the pan there. I was very upset and told him even though it was $24 I would still like my money back. He didn't seem to care and had another person try to find the receipt. She finally found it and was able to put my money back on my account. I was there for 45 minutes trying to get my money back. It was ridiculous and I will never go there again.
