I ordered Pella window and sliding glass patio door in July. I understand back orders and shortage of help but their communication was horrible. I am still waiting to hear about installing even though I was promised October. I paid for them over 3 months ago but still waiting. Appropriately named "Lowes" since you must certainly lower your expectations upon entering. Impossible to find anyone to assist or ask questions (have had other customers come up to me and ask if I've seen anyone around who works there.) If you do manage to find anyone to help you, they will begrudgingly assist you. Forget their price matching guarantee, the employees will often tell you no, even when you present the competitor's flyer. I'm giving it one star and that's only because once I had an employee help me load something in my car. read more

My bad experience was with the delivery drivers. I ordered a new black range with haul away of the old. The delivery man came in and saw the old black range. I stated that the old one was ugly and I wanted to treat myself to something new. He said "so this one works just fine but it's ugly?" and chuckled. He leaves and comes in with another person and tells him "So she is getting rid of this one that works because it is ugly.". Other man says "It works but it's ugly?" and they both laugh. Other man says to me "You know you got another black oven, right?" and laughs. I could feel the condescension. You know.... I don't need them judging me or my decisions or my choices. Maybe they don't know that this is the first new appliance I have ever purchased and I was excited. Maybe they don't know that the house I just moved into was a hoarding situation and I don't want the old ugly range because I don't know what has been in it. Maybe the new black one was all I could afford and I was laughed at because I didn't get stainless steel? Maybe it seems like a silly thing to write a review about but they took an exciting moment for me and shit on it. This is the worst Lowe's I have ever been to. A worker took a hit on his vape right in front of us under a minute after we entered. Next, all of their lumber and screws are totally disorganized so we had to look for about 20 minutes to find those. Then, the vaping employee kicked us out of an isle to let the forklift in. After that we took UNDER TWO MINUTES to get some screws, and when we came back, the vape employee put all of our wood back on the shelf that took 20 minutes to find then another 20 minutes to pick out the straitest boards then another 15 minutes for him to put the boards back on our cart. After that, when we got to the register it charged $10000 for some "Lowe's government payout" thing. Which to the cashier said "the scary part is that I don't even know what I pressed?"!!!!! The took three hours to install it, but did not hook up the water/ice machine, and now refuse to send someone to fix it. They delivered a dishwasher that didn't fit and was returned. I have been to this Lowes many times and the layout is nice. The people that I have dealt with have for the most part been nice. Their paint department matches colors very well and have been good at giving tips on what type of paint to use for which room. Valspar, which is their #1 paint, is really good. I must say though that some of the ladies in the paint department look like they hate their job and have scary looks, but once you ask them a question they are very helpful. It is really strange. Other than that, I find that their prices are lower than Home Depot and they don't throw a fit to match prices on certain items. The only semi-bad experience I had here was with their contractors. I purchased a storm door and it had to be ordered. Once it came in I kept waiting for them to call me to schedule the install and it seemed like it took forever. I had to call several times to get it taken care of and they finally got it done. I don't know if I can attribute that to the store since I believe they have a call center that sets all that up. Anyway, I would've given them 5 stars if they would've got that right. Overall, the store has good products and I prefer to go to Lowe's for paint products over Home Depot. read more

My husband just waited there for 30 minutes and couldn't even get one person to help him. Three different employees passed and said they would call someone to help him and never did anyone actually come. Similar experiences on the phone for at least 2 weeks. NEVER USE THEM TO INSTALL DISHWASHERS! We bought a dishwasher from Lowe's and also had them install it in 2014. We just started noticing water coming from our ceiling in the basement and called a plumber who informed us that the person who installed the dishwasher "put the trap on backwards causing a leak on the downtube". It took a while before it actually started to leak significantly enough but the point is they installed it incorrectly and won't do anything to fix the cabinets now which are ruined from leaking water damage over time because they said their warranty only covers up to the first year after installation... Warranty or not the issue is it was never done properly to begin with, and we even have in writing from the plumbing company that this was installed backwards. read more

I asked where I could find an item, was give an isle towards the back of the store I checked it and it couldn't be found. I go back to the front and ask the same customer service people they said it should be there. I say it would be a seasonal item where do you keep those. One went to ask someone else, one got on the phone to ask someone else. You can hear the person on the phone saying why did you call me and there is lots of chatter about other stuff, never spoke to me. The other person is just standing there. This Lowe's is less than accommodating. They had a reputation of always helping a customer regardless of the cost but I received the absolute opposite at this location. I purchased a weedeater about a year ago....lasted me 3 uses. Since the winter came, I forgot about returning, I remembered now that it is the weed eating season. The brand is TroyBuilt....obviously their brand....and all I really needed was a part. They refused to help. They couldn't give me the part out of another box and wouldn't exchange it unless I proved I bought the 1 year replacement package. Wth!!?! They are obviously not concerned with losing business and don't care about their great reputation they were able to destroy in 20 minutes. I was not asking for money, just some help. I will never go back their again simply due to the service. Home Depot can be given my business and as a home owner, I think I need an improvement store that I can rely on. read more

I actually like the Lowe's store in Olathe, Ks, and will continue to shop there. I strongly discourage anyone thinking about using Valspar paint from Lowe's though. A painter talked us into using Valspar on the exterior of our home. It looked great for three years and then it started fading and got worse quickly. We saved some money initially by using Valspar, but we got what we paid for. Valspar paint - Not recommended! read more

We have a Home Depot very close, and they sell the same washers and dryers that Lowe's has. However, for our summer cottage, we had wonderful experience with Lowe's and decided to go to the one in Olathe. The purchase experience was fine. Delivery, however, has been a nightmare. First, the dryer was damaged when delivered, meaning another delivery date. The guys that brought the damaged item must not have done their paperwork, because I did not get a call to set the replacement delivery. I had to do ALL the work - and trying to get someone to answer a phone in that store is all but impossible. When someone finally answered, he said he'd have to go find the right person. Still no call. I finally got someone who knew what to do - took 20 minutes of my time. However, she expedited the delivery. The new dryer comes, and the guys hook it up. By the way, when you buy a new dryer, they literally require you to by a new power cord at $24. There's nothing wrong with the one you have; they claim it's a liability issue, and their guys cannot hook up the new dryer with the old cord (trust me, this figures into the issue). When testing the new dryer, the breaker kept being tripped - immediately. They tell me it's likely something wrong with the 4 prong outlet. I say it worked just fine, could the new power cord be defective. Nope, I'm told I need to hire an electrician. I'm reasonably handy, so I got them to leave and said I'd handle it. Which I did - by putting the old cord on the new dryer. So, now I want a refund on my $24 cord, so I call the store. I cannot get any phone call answered. And, no, I'm not driving back to the store to return it (I never go to that area, and I have no reason to be near the store). There also does not appear to be a way to communicate with Lowe's via email. The best solution for me was to call my credit card company, dispute the charge for the cord (plus tax); I've had it removed from my bill. Simple customer service, meaning just give me someone to talk to, could have saved them a customer. I'll have nothing good to say about this Lowe's experience. read more

I needed a very specific lightbulb and I know nothing about lightbulbs. I went into the store, lightbulbs were warily marked. I tried to look by myself, but I (turns out) was looking at the wrong part of the light bulb, and couldnt find what I was looking for. I asked for help at the front, they sent me an associate immediately. He found my bulbs quickly and helped me find the best deal. Thank you! read more

This Lowes store has the WORST customer service out of all the Lowes I've been to. I went 3 times to the same department on 3 separate days and wondered around for 30mins to an hour and not 1 person asked if I needed help. Initially I thought it was just a bad day but the 2nd & 3rd time was no different. They had people just sitting around and none of them got up to ask anyone in there department if any of the customers needed help. Stay away from the millwork department. Ordered a front door and screen door with install. They upsold me a fiberglass door which ended up warping due to the heat. Spent a year trying to get it replaced (they screwed up reordering a new door 3 times). I finally received some compensation for the frustration but the knowledge and customer service in that department is garbage. Store manager had to step in and resolve the issue. read more

I had a special order tub that was ordered correctly, but delivered incorrectly (right hand--left hand). I called 4 times to let them know the wrong special order tub was delivered..4 times the call was dropped. The 5th time I called I talked to customer service directly. Phooey on being transferred and trying to talk to a live person!!! The young lady I spoke to assured me she would correct the order. I went in today to find out when the tub would be in . BLANK STARES.They are not showing my tub was not re-ordered and no remarks at all of my calling back to tell them it was the wrong tub. WHAT THE HELL?!!! I have to wait another week w/o a bathroom??Because some minimum wage employee can't read or write?! What do you have to do around here??!! read more

This Lowes and also the one on Stateline Road are both terrible. You go to the automated response system and wait and wait and wait. No one ever answers the phone. We are currently remodeling our home. It took them 20 minutes today to bring out a faucet that we ordered online. They called us to tell us that the faucet was in but the poorly trained and incompetent staff could not find it in a timely manner. My wife called to pick up another faucet that we were told was in via the Lowe's website. She called, actually got a live person, and was told nothing is in until they call and tell us that it's in! On another faucet we ordered, my wife came to pick it up. The box looked like it'd been driven over by a truck and they expected her to take it home. How dumb do they think their long suffering customers are? We ordered several thousand dollars worth of Bosch appliances, and I'm scared to see how bad they mess that up. They are supposed to come in next Friday. Let's see if I'm writing another review or not. AVOID them like the plague unless you want hours of frustration. read more

Great store to shop in.u can actually get down the lsle you want without 50 sidestacks of clutter or power equipment in the way. The store is always clean vs Home Depot Filthy stores. I am only giving them one star because I have to on Yelp, if you are considering making a purchase for a large item maybe look at home depot, or tractor supply. My mower I purchased broke after less than 6 months of use, and even though we purchased the extended warranty for this Lowes had a hard time verifying it, then when the repairs were supposed to be done they didn't even confirm with the third party company that they could pick up the thing. So I have lost two days of work, and spent over an hour on the phone trying to get this resolved. I am soo angry at this point that I went out of my way to write a yelp review on the store. Try "Home Depot" and avoid any purchase over a couple of hundred dollars or you will pay for it later. If any store managers for Lowe's are reading this, as a company you have insured I spend my money somewhere else. read more

The first post on Lowes Facebook site about this was deleted, so I reposted and now have it here. Carpet Sale at Lowes. A carpet sale is not neccessarily a SALE at Lowes. Buy Stainmaster carpet and you get installation for the whole house for $39 AND a FREE pad upgrade. That is what it says. In reality, you cannot just buy the carpet with no pad and get the $39 installation. You have to use their pad AND the topend pad to get the deal. IF you want only carpet, they will NOT do the install -- you have to do that yourself OR have it done somewhere else. To get the FREE pad upgrade you MUST buy the top pad, THEN you get an upgrade. THERE is nothing FREE in this sale -- ONLY upcharges. This was the same thing when they had laminate flooring on sale, good price on product, but stiff you on the install. The local DA should be looking at this for false advertising. Local manager and dept managers admit it is misleading, but DUH, corporate makes the decisions. Peter principle at it best. read more

I like going to this Lowes because they always seem to have what I need in stock and at a reasonable price. They keep it clean and the employees are friendly and helpful. The refrigerator my husband and I purchased was a reasonable price, the customer service rep in the store was friendly and helpful. The delivery and installation men were wonderful however the waterline to my fridge was damaged during installation and flooded the kitchen and leaked into the basement in our rental property. They fought us about whose responsibility it was for damages. They then dealt with our rental company (which is another beast) and we never heard anything and assumed it was taken care of... Until we moved out of our home and were hit with major repair bills. For the last TWO YEARS my husband and I have been fighting with Lowe's to pay for the damages they caused with no resolution. We were told the claim was closed because the rental company never contacted them to resolve the claim... The rental company was NOT the customer. I was the customer. So now two years and $1600 later we are still waiting on Lowe's to honor their agreement. I will never shop at this, or any, location again. Go to one of the million other home improvement stores in the KC area if you want to be taken care of as a customer should be. read more

I go to Lowe's about twice a month, so I like the place, but I really got peeved recently. I was looking for prices or any deals on new appliances for the kitchen. I wanted new refrid, microwave, dishwasher, stove, and a new washing machine. The salesman helped me find the exact color, etc. and to "verify" the prices printed them out on contracts. He then told me I needed to sign the contracts. I explained again that I was only looking at prices and that I wasn't signing anything today. I told him I would like to take the contracts with me and discuss it with my wife. He quickly grabbed the contracts back and said I couldn't take the contracts but agreed to letting me write down the prices! He seemed upset that I wouldn't sign right then. I found the same items at a competitor for much less. read more

I purchased a front door and storm door at Lowe's Home Improvement off of Blackbob in Olathe KS. They walked me through the steps of what I needed including hardware and signed a contract to have it installed. I even asked is this for all hardware, labor, and trim and the sales clerk replied "YES". The contractor is installing the door and asks me if I wanted to use the old doors handle and lock because no new hardware came with the door. I called the store explaining the situation and they did not give the contractor the hardware set that I picked out with the clerk. They then told me that the sales clerk must of forgot to add it in with the purchase but would be happy to sell me one. I had to leave my house with the contractor there by himself, watching my dogs, waiting for the door handle and dead bolt lock so he could finish the job. I drove to the Home Depot to get it. Lowes you are unprofessional in door sales. I went to complain to a manager and they act like it's no big deal. I spent $1,000 there and they were not appreciate of my business at all. read more

Very poor experience when I ordered exterior raised panel decorative shutters for the outside of our home. We were in the middle of putting new James Hardie siding on the outside of our home and planned to reuse the existing shutters, but unfortunately were damaged in trying to remove them. Ordered new shutters on 8/23 from Lowe's with their website showing an anticipated delivery of 9/2. I checked status on 8/30 and Lowe's website showed my order was in store for pickup. Contacted store and was told no they were not in as their system has a problem on special orders and shows status in error. I was informed shutters should be in on 9/4 which was no problem, and was told to call on that day. I called on 9/4 and was told they had not arrived yet, but should be on the delivery truck that evening and again was told to call after 7 PM to check status. Called at 8 PM, and was told they had not arrived, but should be on first truck in the morning. I called store at 8 AM on 9/5 and was told they were not in, but then transferred me to dept. manager. She said she would check with manufacturer/supplier and call me back on status. She called back 4 hours later to let me know they had not shipped yet, but should be in on 9/13 or 9/14. All the while my siding contractor is trying to schedule his crew to install the shutters. I called that afternoon and asked to talk with the store manager to express my displeasure and asked if he could look into it with the manufacturer/supplier and confirm that 9/13 or 9/14 were good dates. He called me back a few hours later to let me know that the date was probably not good as they had not even been manufactured yet and did not have a date when they would be produced. I ended up cancelling the order as Lowe's could not even provide me a date when I could expect to receive the product. I ended up ordering shutters from Home Depot. Very frustrating as we ended up losing 2 weeks in trying to complete our project versus if I had gone with Home Depot in the first place. Who knows how much time we would have lost if I had to wait for Lowe's to deliver. I understand issues with suppliers, but to be lied to multiple times by Lowe's customer service regarding commitment when product would be delivered was very frustrating. They definitely need to fix this process and their systems or get out of the business of placing special orders. Very disappointing and I doubt I will shop at Lowe's for any of my future home projects. read more

I wanted to let you know that my husband is having trouble finding someone to help him when he visits your store. He is doing a remodel of our house and he bought some lumber yesterday to redo a floor. It was several sheets of 8X6 foot boards and no one helped him load them into our truck. He is in his seventies and has had surgery on his arm so it was very hard for him to get them into the bed of the truck. A cashier paged someone to load them, but no one ever showed up. We are going to spend several thousand dollars at your store, so I would like your store to have more men who are available and not standing around and talking, ignoring your customers. read more
