Poor Customer Support. I visited Lowes (Piscataway NJ) on saturday 9/23/17 with my family. The worst and rude customer service provided by "Rudi". I already had mount light and wire (as i had to extend connection from switch) i needed some help about wiring connection and if i had to buy any thing else too. I saw this person "Rudi" and asked for help and he replied with "I can't teach you" i was so shocked for a minute i thought he might be of other department so i said, is it because you're not electrician and he said "I am ELECTRICION but i am not going to teach you"(in this conversation i couldn't see his name). At this point i knew i had to complain this thing to manager, i found him few isles away i got his name and i told him that how rude his attitude was, while i was saying this he started walking in other direction and said do what ever you have to do. I went to manager she was very nice lady, heard my complaint and said she will take action against him, i am writing this just to make sure there was some action taken. With saying all of above another employer (jerome/irome: not sure about name) helped me with my same question and guess what i had to buy another thing for installation which completed my setup. I think this person doesn't like his job, he should better find other job. read more

Honestly worst customer desk anywhere at this store! Year after year the people change but same rude people. Went there to return and item and I'm waiting in line when the associate has her back tuned for 5 minutes talking to another associate who can clearly see I'm waiting and it's definitely not working related their conversation. And earlier today I did a return at the East Brunswick store and amazing service!! Clearly something wrong with Piscataway store and it's management!!! Home Depot gets it right every store and East Brunswick Lowe's does too!! Maybe Piscataway management should drop by to those stores and learn something about customer service! read more

I HATE THIS STORE!!!! Worse customer service ever. If I can use swear words to describe customer service at this store, I would. If negative star reviews were allowed, this store would have them. A few years ago, I purchased a toilet auger to snake my toilet. I tried to use it but it was broken. So I bought it back for a refund. The customer service woman I approached to return the toilet auger raised her hand and told me to "stop". I was confused as to why she was telling me to stop. She rudely clarified that she did not want me to give her the toilet auger (guessing that she did not want to touch it because it was used on a clogged toilet). I told her I just wanted my refund because it was broken. She nevertheless refused to take the auger (she didn't want it touching the counter) and refund me my money. Meanwhile, another customer service man stated out loud that the auger has been used so I wasn't entitled to a refund. Obviously it was used because I tried using it and it didn't work (as I had explained to the customer service woman...the customer service man was standing near her when I stated why I was returning the toilet auger). I explained that I tried using it to clear a Lego block my son had flushed down the toilet (there were no human by-products in the toilet when I used it) and that I had washed the toilet auger afterwards. Regardless, neither one would process my return. The manager comes over (after I have asked to speak to the manager). It did not get any better. She (the manager) had the same disdain for the toilet auger as the two customer service people. Eventually my return was processed but conditions were dictated to me...I had to take the toilet auger. And I was TOLD by the manager that I was not to leave it on the premises nor throw it out in one of their garbage cans. I asked what was I to do with a broken toilet auger. I was not Lowes' garbage disposal service. The manager told me that was the only way I was going to get my refund (take the toilet auger). Take it or leave it (her offer). I have never met such rude and obnoxious people before. Never will I ever patronize such a crappy store again. Lowes should fire every last one of their customer service people, starting with the three I encountered. read more

I was at the customer service desk asked for help, the associate name: Shanice, was chatting with other co-workers with a smile on a face. Once she turned to the customers, her facial expression changed completely as customers owed her for life. No smile, no greetings, sad-tone, poor attitude. She took the time to search in her computer and discovered it was a door wedge I was describing. She WALKED me right to it. It was blocked by a promo sign, that's why I couldn't see it. You guys were great with installing our new dishwasher! Thank you so much! The installers had it in and working in about ten minutes!! The entire process was so easy, from looking at the dishwashers, deciding which one to buy, and having it installed! THANK YOU! The only problem we are having is that people keep calling us to ask how the install went and they either don't leave their name when they leave a message or when we call back, no one in the store can find them. But other than that everything went great! Home Depot has lost our business for good and we are sticking with Lowes!! read more

Pretty disappointed with my experience there. The staff was not as knowledgable about sizing and fitting in the plumbing section. And instead of getting someone that was smarter about the trade, they just said "sorry" and walked away. One lady that I asked rolled her eye at me and gave me a ton of attitude for asking her a question. Sorry but that is unacceptable. I only go here out of shear proximity to my house. I needed some lumber, but my saw is not appropriate for some of the wider cuts I needed. Employees at this store went out of their way to help me pick out the lumber and make the cuts I needed. I did not need really really accurate cuts, but when I measured after I got home, the cuts were all within 1/8 of an inch, which was better than I expected. Only reason they did not get a five star rating. The next day, I needed some different wood for another project and their saw was out of service. Next day I called and still out of service. I would still have given them a 4.5 rating, but that is not available. read more

I went in there the other day to buy a grill. I asked if someone could assist me and no one ever came. I said okay forget it so I picked one that I thought was good and purchased it. When purchasing, the girl asked me what time frame did I want it to be delivered and I picked noon to 4. The grill got delivered at 8am. Thank goodness I was home. Not only that but I specifically told the girl that I needed it to be assembled(it was a huge grill and there was no way I could even move it). I also called the store back to confirm assembly and they said yup got you down. The morning it arrives, the guys tell me Lowes never mentioned assembly and that this happens all the time with them. I tried to contact Lowes to let them know what was going on but they kept transferring me to different people and I winded up talking to no one. Needless to say I won't be going back to them for a large purchase. read more

For a "Big Box Store" this place (Piscataway location anyway....) offers very personal service. Not too long ago my Mom made a purchase and there was some confusion regarding Delivery/Pre Assembly of purchased product.--The Lowe's Team wanted to make it right for her and they did(!) Because of the response and actions taken my Mom ended up being very happy and satisfied. Thanks to those responsible (sorry she no longer recalls names) for your help. Ok I kind of dislike these kind of stores...I never know where I am going and always seem to forget something. Today I went armed with a list of stuff. I think I stopped 3 different employees to ask for various items..all of them were good about giving good instructions of which aisle to go to. I was annoyed because I needed blinds cut to specific measure. I asked 2 different employee to get me someone...I heard the pages, but no one showed up...then I noticed a button in the aisle to call for help. I pressed the button and waited within a few minutes I had service...person cutting blinds was super nice. Cashier was also very nice but so slow and of course there were only 2 registers open. read more

I checked that items were available in store before placing online order and expected to pick up the next day. However, a five day delay notice was received the next day and no more update after. Eight days later, still no update so I called the store. Surprise! It will be delayed for another week. Store customer service did not consider delay was an issue for customers. Well, he did say I could cancel the order. I thought it might be a strategy to keep postponing delivery of orders with discount so customers have to cancel them. The employees are a joke. There is never anyone working throughout the store and you're constantly waiting over 10 minutes for someone to help you. Not to mention, I was trying to return this crap wood that I bought from them that split with every nail that went in, and the manager -- short-haired, dark-skinned woman with an accent -- got an attitude and raised her voice at me and started talking down at me for no reason. I remained calm the entire time, even though I wanted to tell her off, though she continued to raise her voice at me. Every time I tried to return each item, the other employee who was working the register kept smirking at my fiancé and I and talking to us like we were stupid. The manager proceeded to tell us that the wood split because we "put too much pressure on it" even though EVERY SINGLE PIECE of wood split without the nail even going all the way through. Only one register open in entire store! Waited 5 minutes to hear clerk scold the individual in front of me for having items not marked with the price - answer!?! Send customer back to lumber section (furthest from the open register) to get his own pricing while we all wait! Left my item on floor - clear Lowe's has given up- thx for making decisions easy - I'll go to Home Depot 1/2 mi down the road (footnote - you are behaving like Sears that has fallen - either provide customer service that helps/cares or you will be part of the cause why all are moving to online purchase options)! read more

Extremely unreliable. They were supposed to deliver a brand new riding lawn mower to us weeks ago, and every few days it's been a repeat of "they don't show up - we call to find out why - they make up an excuse - we make a new delivery day/time - they don't show up - we call to find out why - they make up an excuse - etc." They've wasted a ton of our time and have been incredibly unprofessional. At least have the common courtesy to proactively contact us, the customer, if you need to reschedule! Why do we need to keep tracking you, the business, down? And we've had to call and leave multiple messages every single time they don't show up, because they're very poor with communication. They've also explicitly lied to my father-in-law about the lawn mower that was bought, to cover up the fact that they delivered it to someone else after we bought it, and then needed to buy time to scramble to get another one for us. It just really feels like they don't care at all about quality service or having a good reputation. Seriously considering switching to Home Depot, as we've never had bad experiences with them. read more

We originally went to the Lowes in East Brunswick to order floor tiles. The tile folks there did their due diligent and physically verified that they didn't have enough inventory. So the next best thing is try another nearby Lowes. So we end up in the Lowes in Piscataway, went there and placed the order. The 2 guys there confirmed they have enough inventory and said that we can go ahead place the order and pick up the following week. We did just that. The day our contractor came to pick up the tiles, guess what, they told us they didn't have enough tiles to cover our order. We are talking about a $2400 tiles order. You would think that Lowes has enough smart people to sell only items they have in inventory. Big mistake. We lost hours trying to sort this out. My contractor spent hours there including my husband, trying to make sure we can get our tiles. They even told my husband as a courtesy, they will ship free of charge for the remainder of missing tiles from another store. Of course when my husband heard this and thought oh at least we are getting something out of this. Big mistake again. He was not paying attention didn't realize they put the $65 delivery fee in his receipt as additional charge. He didn't realize until he bought the receipt home for me to verify. So when they said it's free, they were just lying to his face and told him 1 thing and then charged him without him noticing. This is very unprofessional of Lowes and the way how they conduct their business. The point here is they put us through this whole hell of mess and wasted our time, time of which we don't have, and time is something they can't pay back for us. My advice is go elsewhere, don't spend your time here unless you have alot of time to waste with unprofessional people who would lie and cheat on you. read more

Ordered refrigerator online. Wanted to change payment from debit card to new Lowes card. Called toll-free customer care & was told to go to store when new card arrived. Went to store. Front end associates had no idea how to handle the situation. Called for manager -- Sherry/Shari (?) -- took more the 30 minutes for her to make it to the front of the store to tell me they couldn't make the change until the refrigerator had been delivered but could be handled on phone. On delivery day, called toll-free customer care where there was a long wait. Called store where front end associates were as ignorant of procedures as last time. Was on hold for more than 30 minutes and then the called was terminated by them. Tried getting attention via Twitter while I was on hold but was only given a link where I could spend another 15 minutes writing out the details of the issue. At this moment, the transaction has not been modified, despite calling toll-free customer care and the store, visiting the store, contacting via Twitter and website. The refrigerator just arrived today -- a day late -- so far, so good with that but it's GE, so Lowe's doesn't get credit for that. They guys who delivered it were very helpful. read more

"That's because you didn't look hard enough". I was looking for pet safe ice melt. I was looking at the large bags of it, and he pointed to a shelf where there were 8lb tubs of it. You're right, I wasn't looking hard enough for a 8 lb tub. That's because I wasn't looking for 8 lb tubs. Dick. When I first came in, I found some plants I wanted, but didn't grab a cart on the way in. I was holding the plants and walked to the exit and passed an employee and said "is it ok if I take these out there just to grab a cart?" Radio silence. I say "yea? Ok? Ok." As he legit stares at me deadpan. Get your crap together and be thankful someone on this earth has employed you and try to gain some customer service skills so you can keep your job. Completely disappointed with my experience in kitchen cabinet department. The design and ordering experience was great. Once the cabinets were ordered, we were told they would be delivered in 3 weeks, but they would try to rush our order since it was a small order. We would receive a call to set up delivery. Six weeks later (twice as along as we were initially told it would take) we finally get the call that our cabinets are ready for PICK UP. When I called to discuss,I was told rudely that cabinet delivery is usually $250 but if I want them delivered now, it would be $65. This is the 2nd time I have experienced a situation at this store where I was told one thing during the sale and after the sale was made, told differently. Won't buy anything unless its a stock/take home item from now on...done with their special orders. read more

Do not use Lowe's for any projects you may need. I went to Lowe's because I was sent a coupon from them from the US Postal service because I recently moved. The coupon was an extra 10% off new shades and 9 shades installed for $99(see attached picture). I setup a survey which I paid $35 for to have someone come to measure. I go to the local store in Piscataway NJ a few days later and am told the person who does blinds is not in now that I should come back tomorrow. I come back tomorrow and the rep I see recommended he send someone out to the house again to take measurements for an "outside" mount installation because there are more choices. The 2nd surveyor comes a few days later and I go that night to the store and an associate helps me. My wife and I are there for almost 3 hours and then suddenly on the associate's computer it comes up almost $900 for installation and he doesn't know why it's coming up. He calls a manager on the phone (who never came over) and gets no help or information. He's grabbing associates from plumbing and flooring departments to help him and no one can figure it out. The store was closing at this point and he says I will get a call back the next morning which I never did. Two days later I call Lowe's corporate and explain the situation to a manager there and again I'm promised a call back from "senior management" within 24 hours and no one calls. DO NOT USE LOWES FOR ANY OF THEIR SERVICES OR YOU'LL BE WASTING YOUR TIME. read more

So, I ordered on line and waited for about an hour to go drive there to pickup. I got there and waited for 20 minutes for the customer service to be helped. Told me to drive at the back so they could load it. I got there and it's still not ready. I have to wait again for about half hour because they have delivery. Why do I have to wait that long? Customer service is terrible. Meanwhile there's an angry customer also waiting and we are both picking up. She got mad at me for backing up my car before her. And the Mgr. & staff didn't try to explain the mix up. Terrible!!! read more
