In the past couple of years, I have visited this Lowe's Home Improvement at least a few times. The store contains the typical departments: building supplies, appliances, cabinets, lighting, plumbing supplies, flooring, paints, hardware, lawn and garden supplies, tools, etcetera. Compared to the other big-box home-improvement store, I notice that some brands of products are different, and sometimes prices can be a little higher. During my most recent visit, I shopped only in the garden center. I had some difficulty with locating specific products in the aisles, and I saw no employee to help me. I selected a few products that were not available at other stores, and I greatly appreciate that these products were in stock here. The cashier was on her phone, but she was courteous, and she accurately rang up my purchase. read more

On 06/07/2026, I placed an order with Lowe's for a complete shower kit that was part of a total remodel of my bathroom. Throughout the order process, Lowe's informed me that the item would be delivered on 06/26/2026. However, on that day the item did not arrive, and I did not receive any communication from Lowe's to inform me of any delays. I spoke to people at the Lowe's in McCandless, PA, from which the item was to be delivered, as well as people at regional office, but no one was able to tell me when the item would be delivered. After getting help from a regional manager, the manager at the Lowe's McCanless store called me on 06/29/2026 and said the shower would be delivered the following day. On 06/30/2026, my order status still was not showing that the shower would be delivered, so I called the Lowe's McCandless store again to verify the status. The young lady I spoke with put me on hold, presumably to speak with the store manager, but whoever she spoke to told her to tell me they couldn't find the item. Mind you, this is a 30" by 60", more than 6-foot-tall shower that ships mostly assembled. After speaking with the regional manager again, the Lowe's McCandless store manager called and said that when I had spoken to him the previous day, he told me that the shower would be delivered two days later. I reminded him that he used the word "tomorrow," which does not mean two days later. He promised to get the shower to me that day. Unfortunately, whoever built the pallet that was holding the item did a shoddy job, and it broke during unloading, causing it to fall off of the forklift and damaging it. Once again, I called the McCandless store to report the damage. They promised to deliver a new shower on 07/06/2026. When that day arrived, the shower did not arrive. Again, I received no updates or communication. After making some more calls, I was told that the shower had to be specially ordered from the manufacturer and would take as long as three weeks. At this point I had wasted several days sitting at home, waiting for a shower instead of being productive at my office. My contractor had reached a point at which they could not proceed any further without having the shower. They had to stop work and move on to another job. I filed a Better Business Bureau complaint against Lowe's due to their lack of communication, dishonesty of their store manager, and lack of action in getting me an item for which I paid nearly $3,000. The shower was ultimately delivered on 07/22/2026. However, now I have to wait for my contractor to finish the job they're currently doing before resuming my job. This sets me back and additional month, during which time I have a completely unusable bathroom. Lowe's purports itself to be a leading hardware store, and I asked that they refund me half the money for the shower to compensate me for the difficulties they caused. They insisted that they could not compensate me for lost time, and that they best they could do was a $100 gift card. What happened to the days when businesses held themselves and their employees accountable for their actions? I think this story is important for people to know if they are considering making a purchase from Lowe's particularly if it is something being shipped to them. read more

I love Lowe's but the paint guy is CONSTANTLY on his phone and it's very difficult to get his attention.

Twice now I stopped early, 7:15 am, and they had all checkout lanes closed at the main exit. They tell you to walk to the end of the store to one of the other checkouts. People park near the main entrance/exit on purpose. It looks like they are just mopping the floor. Why can't they work on one lane at a time? Or do it at opening? I left what I was going to buy sitting on an end cap and went to Ross Home Depot. read more

Disappointed by this location. Was like pulling teeth to be greeted by the appliance guy. Guess we didn't show up looking like money so we were avoided. Finally was able to purchase the dishwasher we came in for, and we have now been waiting over 40 minutes for them to bring it to the loading zone. We checked with customer service and the dumbfounded looks told us that nothing had been initiated to start our dishwasher to be brought to the front of the store. Frustrating. read more

Visited LOWES on 9/13/25 - 08:38:39 - (located in Pgh Mills; 1005 Village Center Drive- Tarentum- PA 15084, 412-826-2210) As I was shopping, this Older slim white female cashier left her register & kept following me around the store, looking at me mean- I finished shopping she followed me to the self-check-out (where a quiet young man was already serving) to harass me further, asking me in a foul sarcastic way, "Do you need any help" I replied "No, I'm all good to go" - she then begins to mock me & said "Well excuse me, ha ha" & I replied "I, look young but I'm 53 years old" she replied "So and..." I then shook my head finished my checkout & went outside to call her manager & to my surprise he was just as ignorant as her (older guy, I think his name was Dave) he acted as if he didn't want to be bothered. 1st I will say the sales manager during the purchase of the appliance knew the product and was very informative. That is the only reason for any stars in the review. The earliest delivery was 3 weeks out. The delivery window was from 1-5 on a Friday. I am sitting here at 7:15 still waiting for delivery and am being told it will still be 1 more hour at least. I was not notified of the delay, I had to call and find out myself. The customer service was horrible. They either say it is not their problem and blame another department or just put you on hold and disconnect you. The support (if you want to call it that) is the worst I have ever dealt with and because of this, Lowes has lost a customer and I will definitely not recommend them to anyone. read more

Get the leaf guard people out. It's an absolute nuisance to be run down and have a sales pitch delivered to you each aisle. New home owners in the area are there ~once per day, 5x/week. Anyone else is there for a specific project and purpose and doesn't need to waste time and money. If they have to be there because you'd rather have vendors money than customers, keep them in the gutter/roofing aisle. Im so close to closing my credit card and shopping elsewhere because of these vultures. I was also a roofer for many years. The product itself is garbage (as are 90% of gutter protectors). Be careful when dealing with the Lowes flooring department and in particular, Shaw Carpeting. I contracted for carpeting to be installed in my basement game room, nothing fancy, jus the middle of the line carpet. The installation went smoothly except for a visible seam and some rough edge areas. The installation folks returned and repaired rough edge areas and the attempted to correct the seam (with no success). Shortly after the installation, I noticed 'sprouts' of carpeting (loose threads) sticking out. I figured these were simply by products of new carpeting and would subside. Unfortunately, this was not the case and the 'sprouts' continued to appear throughout the basement. I contacted the Lowes service center and was redirected to the installation department. They came and inspected the 'sprout' situation and told me that they thought the carpet was defective and would report it accordingly. After a few weeks I was told that the carpet manufacture (Shaw Carpet) denied any responsibility and the claim was closed. Meantime my basement carpet was becoming a jungle. I was considering mowing the carpet. I contacted Lowes and explained my dilemma and was told that there was nothing they could do. I got the same response from the out-sourced installation group as well. There was no need calling Shaw Carpet, they didn't care. I wasn't sure where to turn to so I filed a complaint with the BBB (Better Business Bureau) and that seemed to get a response from both Lowes and Shaw. This interest was superficial only. They both sent out techs to physically examine the carpet and both technicians told me that, in their opinion, the carpet was defective and should be replaced. They both also claimed that the protruding seam across the middle of the game room was due to both faulty product (carpet) and installation. This whole process went on for close to nine months and required multiple phone calls, emails and meetings at my house. At one point, the folks from Shaw placed blame on my vacuum cleaner and eleven-year-old dog. If that was the case why wasn't the carpeting throughout the house damaged? Bottom line, Lowes does NOT stand behind the products they sell and Shaw Carpets is just as bad (and probably worse). Ive hire an attorney and plan on filing a formal complaint. We came to the store 2 days ago and was looking at a display gazebo. Of course this HORRIBLE store has no employees ever working at it. They finally went and got a cashier that looked like they drug her in off the curb. We asked her about buying the item. She said she went and talked to a store manager and she returned and told us that we would have to have them take the item apart and that we would have to haul it and that it would need to be picked up the next day after they took it apart. They told us they would not let us pay to have it delivered. We went back today (two days later) and there is a Sold tag on it. When we asked who bought it and when they were standoffish (people with no high school education normally are). The first of the two FLOOR WORKERS said that it must have came from the manager because it was a professionally printed laminated sign and was handwritten as sold with a red marker. When we pressed the issue more then one of the two FLOOR WORKERS said I am the store manager and so is the other FLOOR WORKER. Knowing Lowe's hiring structure in and out I knew this was a lie. There is only ONE store manager and it wasn't either of these two jobbers. If it was then they wouldn't have said the sign must have been from a "Store Manager" because they are BOTH "Store Managers" right. What has happened it is that the associates and "Managers" (Department FLOOR Managers) at this HORRIFIC branch are so CLUELESS that they didn't even know this item was on final discount until we tried to purchase it. They made up excuses to NOT sell it to the public and now one of the employees purchased it to put in their burnt out grass in front of the double-wide. Moral of the story is...DON"T EVER SHOP AT LOWE'S and ESPECIALLY not this one. There is a reason why HOME DEPOT is No. #1 I would like to give less than a 1 star review but unfortunately I cannot. This review is for service or lack of service on a delivery of a new refrigerator purchased at this store. A cautionary tale.... The frig was delivered, damaged and needed to be replaced, so an exchanged was scheduled and the new damaged frig was to be taken away. Well the delivery team showed up to deliver the replacement, but since they did not have the paperwork to haul away there defective frig, THEY REFUSED TO DELIVER and instead of trying to get it resolved the driver just said I have other deliveries and LEFT! Who ever Lowes contracts this service they are TERRIBLE. I called Lowes to see if we could get this easily resolved and the reply was NO, WE DON'T HANDLE THAT. Doug the Manager only told me to call the delivery company. That's it. So if you buy something from Lowes make sure that ALL the paperwork is in order, do not assume it is all correct, make sure to verify, because Lowes will not work with you to get it resolved. We bought a dishwasher online and picked it up in the store today. I drove to the store and went to the pickup desk. A gentleman started to assist me...I showed him the page I was sent from the store. Now, he became extremely ignorant simply because I didn't know I had to press a button on said page. He remained ignorant throughout the entire transaction. Maybe I was wrong in assuming a customer service position should be somewhat helpful, without treating the customer like garbage...but, I will not be going back here. I purchased a vinyl tile floor at the McCandless Lowes and it was installed by the contractor Lowes uses, Ultimate Home Services. The doors to the closet had to be removed and cut down in order to fit the new floor, but the installers could not do that. I talked to their supervisor Ryan on the phone and he told me my options were to reschedule the install for after I had the doors cut down or have the install completed and get the doors cut down later. Either way, I was responsible for the doors, they could not do it. I had them finish the install because I was anxious to get the floor done. I later contacted Ryan, and the manager, Scott by text (also attempted phoning, but could not get through) to express my dissatisfaction. I tried to reach them several times, but have never heard back from them. I went to Lowes to see if they could help me. I talked to Bob, who sold me the floor (he was wonderful and tried to be helpful). Bob called his manager, Mark who said he would try to find someone to cut down my door. I never heard from him again. I tried to talk to the manager of the McCandless Lowes but was told I had to resolve the issue with Ultimate Home Services. Very poor customer service. Now I see why Ultimate Home Service doesn't respond to customers, neither does their employer Lowes. I am very dissatisfied with both and will not shop at Lowes or use Ultimate Home Services after this very negative experience. read more

I ordered a Christmas outdoor light tree through Lowe's online. I got a notification that Lowe's was delivering them today. I looked outside my door and found a package. I was excited to put the tree that I ordered in my outdoor Christmas landscape. Unfortunately when I opened the box it contained the wrong items. I called the local Lowe's to sort it out and they told me to call Lowe's customer care. I talked to the customer care rep and told her about the wrong items being delivered and told me that I had only two options..to keep the wrong items that i received and remain charged for my order or cancel the order that I did not get with a refund..except that I had to schedule a pick up for the wrong items I received? At least let me keep the wrong items. They also denied any accountability and told me to contact the vendor. What a disappointment. This was my first time at a Lowe's in Pittsburgh. I have been to ones in New York and loved the experience. I have always found Lowe's has as good a selection and pricing as Home Depot, And the only difference to me is when you walk into a Lowe's you can actually get some help. No matter which Lowe's I have gone to I have found there is always someone to help you with whatever you need. Try finding someone to help you at Home Depot good luck. I went in for some gardening supplies and plants. The store is huge and had a great selection. Tons of service staff around especially in the gardening section. Staff where friendly and knowledgable. After stopping here about 20 times in the last 6 months alone, I was long overdue to give them a review. Fact is, I'm just not a Home Depot guy. I think Lowe's outperforms them on price (and promotions), cleanliness, inventory and store setup (they are similar, but there are subtle differences). This is the closest Lowe's to my house, and there is nothing extraordinary about it per se. The staff is friendly and I usually have no problem finding an associate to ask a question. Being dog friendly is a plus. read more

Well stocked shelves and masked employees. Have been using their curbside pickup for a few months now, but feel safe shopping inside too. Curbside delivery is a bit slow, average wait time of about ten minutes to receive items. Highly suggest using their app now that has an option to say 'I'm on my way, and I'm here' to speed things up. (Still....could be faster, and only works if all your items are ready in an order. Multi-item orders only give you the on the way option if all or the last item is ready.) Still a spiffy service. read more

Ordered a refrigerator online. Delivery was an absolute nightmare. They partially installed the new one before removing the old one but then one delivery person said the other guy was tired and had back pain so they would "put in a ticket" and have the job finished another day?!?! We wanted the one in the kitchen moved to the garage and an old one in the garage hauled away. They asked if we paid to relocate the kitchen one. My husband offered them $20 to move it and we were told it was $140 job!!!! Lowe's website clearly states that relocation to another area of the same residence was part of the "delivery". It's been 3 days and I still have two refrigerators in my kitchen. Corporate was no help getting the old one moved thus far but hey.....they gave me a $15 e-gift card and thanked me for shopping at Lowe's and they hope we will shop there again real soon. Not a chance!! They were supposed to come today to move one/haul one away and I took 1/2 day off work but now they say they can't come until tomorrow between 1:30-5:30. read more

Wasn't very impressed with this location. We showed up to look for plants and what not that we needed to do some landscaping outside. When we showed up we went directly to the garden center to take a quick look at the plants available and pick out what we needed. We got what we needed there and headed inside. We needed a few tools and other items that should have been fairly quick items to find. However the inside was a bit of a mess. Items left on carts in aisles essentially blocking you way through to get to the items you need. That is if you could find what you are looking for. My better half went to look for some add on items for a tool he has and I went back out to the garden center area to look for yard debris bags. It irritated me to have to do this. I could not find them anywhere. On top of that I couldn't find any available associate to ask where I might find them. I even went as far as going to the registers in the garden center to ask for assistance and the lady working the register had no idea where they would be. We were waiting for her coworker to finish up with a customer to ask her and another customer came up. I noticed he had the bags on his cart and not wanting to wait I ask him where he found them. This customer was more helpful than the associates working. In fact those bags weren't even appropriated displayed in the store. They were still on a pallet sitting at the back of the garden center. No one would have found these if they had the intention like I had to want them. It's that time of year when you need these items as you tidying up around the house. read more

This is the third time Lowes at McCandless Crossing has messed up my order. First was a dishwasher, then a gas grill and now a saw. Each time they say, "Sorry, here's your money back. We can't help or fix the mistake we made." This last item was a gift. I was hopeful since the manager, Mike, was helping with checkout, but no, he was just as incompetent as the regular staff. Good luck finding anything you need to be in stock. This Lowe's in particular, never seems to have anything available, even when every other Lowe's in the area is overflowing with the same inventory. Their stock management has to be the worst I've ever seen. This location is 5 minutes from me, yet I routinely travel to a store 30 minutes away to pick up even the most common of items. Once inside, you'll be greeted with empty shelves, empty boxes, or limited inventory such as a single pipe fitting when you may need twenty. The most frustrating part is this will stay as such for a particular item for weeks, when other area stores have refreshed their inventory on that item multiple times. This was the case upon their opening, and I figured there would be some bugs to work out of the system. Years later, nothing has changed. That said, when they do have what you want, the staff is friendly, returns are a breeze, and there will generally be someone in the store knowledgeable on whatever project you are working on. At times the staff has gone above and beyond to help on an issue. Of course, the whole point of a store is to be able to buy something. Even if it's convenient, skip this location and head to the Cranberry store instead. read more

My wife and I shopped here during there November appliance sales where we ended up buying a deep freezer and a new microwave. Unfortunately, they were out of stock with both when we were there, but ended up purchasing the appliances to take advantage of the discounted items. We were told that orders come in every week to every other week and we'd be able to pick up our appliances when the next shipment came in to the store. Two weeks after ordering, I called back on a Thursday and was told both products would be in on Monday's shipment. I called back on Wednesday just to have both products already being sold and that the next shipment would be in the following Tuesday. I called in the following Thursday to inquire about the products, but only the microwave was in stock and the next shipment would be coming in the following week. At this point I was pissed. What kind of store takes a product that was already purchased by a customer and sales it to someone else instead? Even so, what kind of store does not call you when your order gets shipped to the store? Thankfully, one of the ladies in the appliance department Michelle listened to my situation, understood it, and rectified it by calling me when the next shipment came setting aside my order. She is the ONLY reason this is a 2 star instead of a 1. Many thanks to her! The checkout process was just as miserable. Upon receiving the microwave that I already paid for, I checked it out with customer service to sign the product out as being received then walked over to the exit where I had to explain the situation to the cashier who initially tried to charge me again for the microwave. The cashier seemed a little confused about this, and I had to wait while one of the people got a hold of customer service to discuss the situation. It wasn't much better picking up the freezer as it took about 45 minutes to get it out of storage at 10:00 AM on a Friday morning when the parking lot was mostly empty. A very frustrating experience at this store. The store seems understaffed and poorly managed. I will not be placing any other orders at this store and will avoid it if possible. The staff here is friendly and helpful enough, but this was an extremely poor and frustrating experience to be told a product is in twice and for it to be resold to other customers. Would highly recommend you to avoid here as well if the product is not available in the store. read more

I LOVE Lowes! Just not this one so much. For basics, it's just fine. If you need help, forget it. The help is nowhere to be found...or if you do spot someone with an employee vest, they're usually standing around talking with another employee. If you do miraculously manage to ask a question of an elusive employee, they have no clue. For real selection and service, head out to Cranberry. Can't tell you how many times I've walked out of the McCandless store in frustration and headed up the road to Cranberry! You would think I'd wise up and just skip this location...but it's so close....sigh. read more

I joined Yelp to write a review of my experience at this Lowes. In early September of 2018, my wife and I purchased 5 new appliances at this store (refrigerator, washer, dryer, stove, and dishwasher). The scheduling and installation process was a nightmare. The refrigerator we ordered was in-stock when we placed our order, but became back-ordered as our delivery date approached. I will give them credit in that they let us swap to a comparable (and even slightly higher priced) refrigerator. Although the salesman gave us a firm install date for all 5 items, we did not receive any information from Lowes until we began calling two days before the scheduled install. We were told that only 2 of the 5 items would be available on the original installation date. Then we learned that the original installation date was impossible because the third-party installers don't work on weekends. When the third-party installer finally called us, he informed us that he had 2 of the 3 items but no information on the third item. He had a limited window for the installation, and it required my wife or I to miss work--twice, unless we waited for the third item. I understand that not all third-party installers work on the weekends, but when all the big-box stores sell the same appliances for the same price, delivery and installation convenience is a major selling point and I believe that Lowes intentionally misled us as to the availability of a weekend delivery to close our sale. I should have read these reviews before buying from this Lowes. To top it off, our 3 day old fridge started significantly leaking this evening. I don't know if it is an installation issue or simply a defective fridge, and I don't really care. At this point I would literally rather pay Best Buy, Home Depot, or Sears, $1,000 more for the same exact items (due to sales no longer in effect) than continue to do business with Lowes. If Lowes can come uninstall/remove the refrigerator and washer and give me a full refund, I fully intend to pursue that option despite the massive inconvenience this entire experience has caused/will continue to cause. I strongly advise anyone considering a significant appliance purchase at this Lowes to save themselves the hassle and simply shop elsewhere. The prices are basically the same, and other big box stores cannot possibly have worse customer service. read more

As I am writing this review, I am STILL on hold with a manager who is supposedly checking on delivery of my appliances, scheduled for today. 25 minutes!!!! This is after 14 calls to the store between the Deliveries department and customer services. By the way, my appliances were supposed to be delivered Saturday 6/2/18. After waiting several hours for delivery, I called the store and found out that they couldn't deliver the items that day. Oh, they "thought" someone would have called me. So now, my items are scheduled for today and i'm trying to confirm that they are coming. I've now been on hold for 28 minutes. read more

Purchased a5ft.Holiday living Lighted reindeer about a month ago from Lowe's in Auburn,n.y. They had 2 at the store but I was afraid that it would be gone when I was ready to use it in my lawn. Very poorly made for the price I paid. Hard to put together and then the front of the deer wouldn't light. So very disgusted. I certainly would not purchase again. So very disappointed. read more
