May 19 2026 at 12:30 pm I went to shop at Lowes in Plattsburgh NY for r he last time. The people that "work" for this store are some of the rudest dismissive clowns I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Long story shortened, I was trying to get directed to an item I wanted to purchase. Some confusion on the associates end made him think I was being rude and loud with his 2 fellow associates up front. I understand there is always 2 sides to every story, but in this case this is it. I tried telling the associate, who I will say was in his 70s maybe?, there was no issue i tend to speak loud as I was a veteran that was around loud artillery in the Army. This old creep plainly said, I dont care about you or whoever claims to be a vet.... Well alrighty, thats fine, but is being at work a good place to let us know that. I did call and report the issue to management, she apologized and asked for the names of the associates involved, which I didnt know. She said that makes it difficult, I agreed. But, it isn't hard to look back at the security cams and go from there. Im not looking to get anybody wrongfully fired, but in this case I think I would fire the involved participants. This guy is about 5 ft 5, skinny, shortened gray to darker hair looks like he is in his late 70s and has an anger issue. I see these nasty attitudes more and more in stores with these associates. They aren't helpful, they are dismissive, rude, nasty attitudes and I feel they just want to collect a check for doing very, very little. No, not everyone is like that, but for these people, right on.the nose a accurate. I would not so readily sign up to serve my country again if these are the types I protect. Yeah, might sound like I am rambling, but if it was you or you saw this situation happen, you may look at it differently. No wonder these stores are going to online delivery services. These stores do not deserve our patronage. read more

Terrible customer service. Extremely condescending and unprofessional staff that pretend to not know anything about why your online orders keep getting cancelled and direct you to their corporate number. When you call their corporate number and ask why they don't help with the issue, you get the same treatment and then hung up on. Seems like this company has become infested with a bunch of petulant teenagers. read more

It was a decent store until they added self check out. The checkout is disastrous, the line is long with only a single Employee watching these. There are no bags to be had for your small items. You can drop them on your way to your car then need to go back and buy more. There seems like enough employees wandering the store as they could staff a few checkouts. I used to spend $10,000 a year at the store being a small business owner. I have branched out to Curtis lumber and the local electrical/ plumbing shops and find the price is a whole lot better. It is convenient having everything as one, but now I see I was paying for this convenience. I recommend shopping at the specialty stores and a few locally own businesses instead of this big box store. The time you waste, here is incredible. read more

Worst lowes I have ever had the displeasure of shopping in. They never answer their phones and when they do it's always "I don't know". Major code violations with isles being blocked. Often both ends. Inventory is never correct!!! They cancel orders with no communication as to why or when item may be available. I have been a customer since the store opened and have seen a steady decline. I have spent thousands each year. It pains me to have to shop here. I think it's time for corporate to come take a peek and stop ignoring the issues. They are losing money daily with their current environment. read more

I ordered a dishwasher from the associate that works at Lowe's (Brennen Carter). He was very professional and knowledgeable regarding the product. He said he would let us know when our order was at the store and we received an email telling us it was available for pickup. We went to Lowe's for our product. In less than 10 minutes our dishwasher was brought to the front of the store and associates Tyler and Monique helped us load it and secure it in our vehicle. They were very courteous and helpful with our product. They did not act like we were bothering them on a Saturday morning. It was a pleasure dealing with these employees. Jerry H. read more

My wife and I went in to the Plattsburgh store with the intent on purchasing a new stove and refrigerator for our kitchen. The place was not super busy, but trying to get assistance was not easy. We should of walked right then and there, however the employee who did show up to help stated right off the bat that this was NOT his department. All we wanted to do was purchase the two units, pay for them and load them up on the truck. No can do, says the "help". This store needs to close its doors or at the very least fire the management and any employee that does not want to assist customers. We will not enter that store again. We purchased a $449.25 Storm Door from Lowe's in Plattsburgh, NY with the agreed upon $139. Install of the door at the store on 07-28-2021 Door arrived end of Aug picked up door tried to order install Lowes said Contractor had to come out to measure door fee $35. It was Scheduled Contractor arrived (big tall man) showed door to need 3/8" Shim figured no Problem Did not get contacted by Lowe's for days called and No call back went to the store talked with asst manager Michelle informed install of door would be $299.per contractor ($160 up charge) got upset Michelle said would talk with contractor and get back by tomorrow 5 days later no contact Returned to store demanded talk to store Manager got store manager Cassius Baker explained AGAIN ! Cassius got contractors report report read Door was 1 1/2" to short for opening Contractor Flat Lied about measurement ! ! ! Cassius assured us he would get with contractor and get back with us tomorrow (Friday) or latest Monday! Never called back ! We called store AGAIN and called Cassius cell phone and left messages on Tuesday Afternoon finally got call back on Thursday afternoon Cassius informed us Contractor refuses to return to property for remeasure with him and he also refuses to come to measure opening and they have no other contractors So we are left with a $450. Do not order any appliances for installation from this Lowes!!! They use CRST Home Solutions as the group for delivering and installation. No communication, change delivery dates without notification, you cannot contact this company directly and Lowes customer service has difficulty connecting with them also!!! As of today 3 different delivery days, 2 days waiting for delivery, multiple phone calls to customer service, no communication with CRST Home Solutions and no dishwasher. It has been in store since 7/4/2021 and it is now 8/2/2021. Very unprofessional!! read more

I purchased a dishwasher from Lowe's in Plattsburgh,ny and would never buy anything from this store again. To start the sales person talked me into buying a repair agreement, by doing so he said I would only deal with the store who would take care of all repairs and not have to deal with the manufacturer. Totally untrue as i found out 31 days later when it stopped working. Problems galore filling out claim form on line and then I called Lowes customer service at 10:30am on a Friday. The phone litterally rang for 42 minutes before a rude lady picked up and said "Well you were told incorrectly. You need to contact the manufacturer themselves, we don not have anything to do with that. Well your salesperson said you did and that's why I bought the plan. Then she hung up on me." Corey was the BEST associate I have ever had the pleasure to shop with in Plattsburgh. He brought me around with my (weird) list and knew what aisle everything was in! I asked if he had an identic memory or if he just studied alot. He said he was there 18 years. So humble, helpful and speedy...hardly kept up with him in his chair....loved it. Went to the store for some bathroom upgrades. The people in the plumbing department were truly amazing. Nikki, the dept manager, Tyson and Bear the workers were great. They have a lot of knowledge and are very helpful. Bear is even a licensed plumber. They share information and great ideas. Always helpful and never pushy. They are my goto place for home improvements. read more

This store has been a year into the pandemic, and is no closer to successfully dealing with it than when it began. The only way to obtain what you need is to go into the store. The online search is the worst I have any I have ever used. When you are able to get any responses to a query, they are as likely as not to have nothing to do with what you were looking for. At the store, most of the time no-one answers the phone. On the rare occasions that you get to speak with an actual person, they take forever to come out with your order. read more

We ordered a washer/dryer from this store were happy w price and delivery. Except a crucial conversion kit was not shipped + we needed the kit for the installers who were scheduled for today. We frantically called the store last night when we realized it was not here + michelle did research until closing time. She got the morning shift on the problem and Monique took over, got the part and got it to us by noon. Amazing customer service. Small local store customer service from a big company like Lowes. Highly recommend these two women should be recognized corporately for their above and beyond efforts! read more

Currently standing at the customer service desk. I have been waiting here for a small order that I placed online at 6am this morning. It is currently 5:30pm. I was told that my order has not been pulled yet and that they would get someone to pull it right now. They called someone on the phone and an associate promptly showed up a few min later. The Associate has not returned after 45 min of waiting. I have been repeatedly told that they are working on my order. I only ordered 2 fence posts that were in stock at this store on thier website. The only reason I am giving this two stars is that I did not wait until I recieved the "order ready" email from lowes. I figured 11 hours would be sufficient. Will consider shopping at the curtis lumber from now on. read more

Terrible customer service. Can't even get help on the phone. Phone rang and rang till it disconnected TWICE!!

I ordered a dishwasher, paid for it as well as for installation. It was to be in in two weeks. I had to call to check on it. It had been there, but no one called me, nor did I hear from the installer. I made several calls to the installer, but was never able to connect with him. I had to go to the store twice to speak with manager. Everyone is willing to help, but no one DID help. I finally had them refund my Lowes credit card the full amount, because it had been 7 weeks, and I didn't want to pay for what I did not receive. I was refunded PART. I had to call and have the rest refunded so as to have a zero-balance prior to payment due date. I found out today that they had refunded by sending me a paper check in the mail. I got it today along with my statement that said I owe that amount, plus almost the same amount in fees and interest. I called the credit card co. I have to go in to the store again and have them take care of it. This makes about 10 phone calls and five trips to the store for something that I ended up never getting. My two-star rating is because no matter how bad the service is, the employees are polite. Just don't order something that has to be installed. read more
