Lowe's used to be my favorite hardware store until today. I went to get air filters for my home unit because I recalled seeing them at a reasonable price a while back. I found them at a reasonable price, plus if you bought two, you would get them at a lower cost. I happily got two and went on my merry way to the self-checkout. When I went to pay, I realised it would be more expensive than the promotion said. I was expecting to get the sales price plus the military discount, like "The Home Dept does," but instead I found out that you cannot have both, according to the machine and the young men who offer a vague excuse. I wanted to get the best possible price; I didn't want to hear excuses. Lowe's, you won't see me around anymore. We recently bought a Pittboss Pro Series grill from this store. We ordered online and asked for assembly. A few days later we picked the grill up and brought it home. When we went to start to grill the ignitor kept going off. The grill was also covered in greasy and literally had sticky bbq sauce handprints all over it. The grease catch bucket had old grease in it!! It was super obvious that this grill had been used, returned, and sold to us as a new, out of the box item. I called Lowe's and all they offered was a return and $100 off... but we have to get the huge ass grill back to them... they also wouldn't assemble it for us to pick up when we made the return. We would have appreciated that much more. Now we have to wait a week and hope we don't get another greasy, broken grill. My questions is... how and why did this happen? LOWES didn't have an answer. I bought a Kenmore Washer from this store. Paid to have it delivered and setup. they told me " All Done " I gave them a nice tip and offered them some water, and they left. Then 35 days later I realized they had hooked the hot water hose to the cold water faucet and the cold water hose to the hot water faucet. Called the delivery # that Lowe's gave me to have them to come back and fixit...the guy said it was past 30 days and they would not fix it'. I called the store to see if they could help me to get it fixed...they put me on hold and never came back. I paid $1100.00 for this washer to be hooked up wrong. If you get Delivery from this store make sure you have them go over everything with you...I trusted that they knew what they were doing, but they did not. This was at the Selma Store.... read more

I concur with several of the bad reviews for Lowes schertz location. Customer service and employees are normally, conveniently hiding and not available.... Or passing the buck about not handling this department and walking off. There was also a situation where I witnessed a customer asking for someone from management to talk to in management sent employee back to let customer know that they did not want to come out and talk to them... Unbelievable. Normally bad customers and employees means bad leadership. The fact that the last several bad reviews had not been addressed on Yelp publicly should say something.... BEWARE...The Lowes in Schertz has the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. I ordered a water hose online to be delivered. They delivered a stapler. I called to explain the issue and was put on hold for more than 15 minutes before I hung up. It took me three calls before I finally got someone to talk to. He said the manager was at lunch and would call me back. No one ever called me back. I called again several hours later. I was told I have to bring in the stapler and they would give me the water hose. I explained I cannot do that...which is why I ordered it online to be delivered. I was told someone would pick up the stapler but they would not bring me the item I paid for. If they bring me the water hose they would have to charge me again. That makes no sense so I asked to speak to a manager and he put me on hold. I waited for another 15 minutes and finally hung up. No manager has called me to resolve the issue. They had pickup lockers in the front. I thought that was cool. Huge store. Looked super stocked in every aisle we walked through. We were there to pick up different light bulbs and an electrical outlet faceplate. Lots of options. We did need to ask a question and found help from a worker in the same aisle. Friendly staff. Came here today to start a project, I came across a worker and asked if he could help and I explained my project. He said he couldn't help but that this other worker (Worker b) could who was walking by. Worker b responds so no I can't but he (worker a) can. This interaction right here made me feel tiny, considering I always was in over my head for this project. I'm a girl so building stuff is already out of my comfort zone. Then worker comes over and has me explain my project again and shows me 2 areas where I can find wood that may fit my project needs and walks off. I needed help and explained myself to 2 different workers who neither seemed in the mood to work or be helpful. Then after I spent nearly $300 and pull up my car to load up, worked b is chilling by the registers and still apparently not in the mood to work or be helpful watches me load the lumber . Pushed the button again and after about 5 minutes, someone finally arrived. I ordered flooring for my master bedroom closet which should have been in my original invoice, but anyway. I placed the order for pickup my son went to get the items the young man Hunter packed the cart with my so called items in there and walked away. My son just looked at the cart with my name and took the items to the car Hunter didn't go off the invoice to make sure that he had the correct items for me. Once my son arrived home I received a phone call telling me that I didn't pick up all my items. After looking at the items Hunter put in the box there were three items I didn't order and I'm missing 1 item from my order. I have been in logistics for 25 years you always go off the packing list to ensure that you have all the items and especially the correct ones. Do better Lowe'. read more

Walked in today looking for a C rench. Couldn't find in hardware so I tried lawn and garden because I needed it to change head on my trimmer. When I got there an older lady with accent asked if she could help me, I said yes, I'm looking for a c clip rench to replace my ego trimmer head. She started shaking her head no, and said you are not supposed to replace them. Turned her head and no longer helped me. WTH just happened? I asked customer service for help and found what I needed. I've never had a problem with this store. Every question I've asked was answered promptly. Their app is amazing when looking for products. Parking is nice. I was there to purchase a stud finder and a tank of propane. The only question I ever asked was can I purchase propane while at self-checkout. I was able to find an employee very quickly to answer the question they were able to. And the manager escorted me to the propane and handed me my tank outside. Amazing garden center!! When you pull into the parking lot you will be treated buy a display of color and flowers unlike most places you have seen. It is almost as if fire works are exploding on the front sidewalk there are so many big blocks of bright color here. Inside and out you are going to find the best in quality and selection that a big box garden center has to provide. Fresh product, fantastic selection, nice people... WOW! Cashiers states I could give them the receipt. Well then what do I keep for myself because they weren't all gifts. So if you want to buy a gift card and other things, purchase separately. my husband purchased two weather strips at the Lowe's in new Braunfels. there is no actual ticket on them, just a barcode done at time of manufacturing. this barcode however doesn't coincide however with lowes inventory, so they have to manually look up and select the item on their system at time of check out. We ended up not needed them afterall, and we went to this location to return the items. The person who checked out the items originally selected "white" when they were actually "brown." Lowes in schertz refused to do a refund or exchange because the wrong color was referenced, even though it was the company that did the error. nice to see how they treat their vets and first responders. going to Home Depot from now on. read more

This is my neighborhood store but it has the worst customer service. I went there to purchase a washer and when I FOUND the model I wanted I asked for assistance (2 people at the counter). Mr. Selce responded as if I was bothering him, not coming to me but speaking across the isle to ask what I need. I was a little taken back... then asked him to help me find fire starters. He nodded and took off roaming the aisles per the sku number I showed him. He told me he knew the inventory well. I wanted some information on a delivery for some equipment I purchased. I called and waited 25 minutes before I got the hang up answer. I called again. The same thing happened after waiting 15 minutes. The third call after 8 minutes was answered and I asked to speak with the store manager. I got a few transfers and then the same answer hang up. Customer service is very important and telling about a business (definitely management of it). I will drive to another location before I spend one penny in the Schwartz Lowes. read more

So pissed off with how this store treats their customers. My husband and I went and spent about $1,400 in lumber and had to do about 3 trips because no one bothered to mention do us that anything after a certain dollar amount would give free delivery. Then when we were in store and needed pallets of wood from high in the shelf, it took them forever to find someone to use the fork lift. While watching the operator, he rammed products into the metal and damaged them because he seemed to not have very much skill with the machine. Before all of this though we had to find someone and no one seemed to be able to be found. Then when we did see people they were messing around in their phones and socializing. When asked to speak to a manger, the assistant manager said she handles things but we were having a problem with her! She did not get a manager for us. That was a whole shit show. Few weeks later we go to buy appliances because they are having a sale. Our stuff can't get delivered for almost a week. We pay for installation as well. The guy comes super late to deliver our stuff. But wait, there is no person to install it. So now I have a dishwasher sitting in a giant box in my dining room. No one has even attempted to call me so I call the store. The sales associate was a jerk so I ask to speak to a manger. The manager is so rude and hangs the phone up on me as I'm still talking. Like, seriously Lowe's how do you hire these kind of people. Then I call the store and get in touch with an assistant manager simply says "I will talk to him" I paid $150 to have installation to which I have to wait over a week from purchase for it to happen. Don't waste your time. Lowe's doesn't care about its customers as they clearly hire incompetent staff to treat the consumer like crap. We spend nearly $5,000 in the last month and a half there and that is it. No more Lowe's. I will take my money somewhere else where I will be helped properly and the staff is there to actually work and not just "hang out" and be on their phones while at work. read more

I was in the store today, August 13, 2022, and was in the plumbing dept when we asked an employee named "Memphis" for assistance in finding a part. He was super friendly, pleasant and helpful. He helped us find the part we needed. This is the reason I am giving 2 stars. On another note, we proceeded to the self checkout and a Hispanic lady with short hair was working there when we asked her how to access the military discount. She gave us a look like we were bothering her and told us we needed the app and turned away from us. I continued to figure out the app and was there approximately 5 minutes before I figured it out. When I called the store the next morning I was told they did not pull the item because there was no place to store it, so it was still showing in process online. I like this Lowe's better than most. While some people are extremely helpful, especially in the flooring, cabinets and plumbing departments, others are rude, especially in the lighting department. Having recently moved to the general area, I've spent a lot of time and money in this store purchasing several appliances, counter tops, light fixtures, etc. They are usually fast with delivery and installation. A tip, when scheduling an installation, find out which company is being subcontracted to do it and contact them yourself, things move much faster that way. read more

We have had many issues in this particular store. Customer service is almost non existent. When we had issues that need to be resolved and bought these issues to management? We were either treated blown off or treated unprofessionally. We ordered storm doors this past November, was told they would be in before Christmas. After Christmas passed, we were told they would be in late January . We received no phone updates from Lowes or even from they ordered the doors from. Finally by late February, we decided to finally cancel the order. Lowes even mispriced a lawn mover , charging us nearly $100 dollars more. We have to go back to the store two times to get this corrected and was still meet with uncooperative associates and Managers. We will contact Lowes Corporate and the BBB. I love my Lowe's! They are always friendly and outgoing! I stop by often for more decorative items and raw materials for construction projects as well as home improvement projects. I usually bypass all other Lowe's to go to this one since I know the people there and they know me: they always greet me with a smile and have never let me down on products and tools I'm looking for. Went in on a Sunday afternoon! They had 1 check stand open. Went to self checkout but one of my items didn't have a bar caped. No one ever came to assist me so I canceled the order and went to the one check stand. Noe hula was the cashier and as we walked up to the register she walked away and returned 3 minutes later. She began scanning with saying a word or recognizing us as a customer. We spent almost $200 and she didn't even thank us for our purchase.
