I would choose 0 stars if I could. I shop at Lowe's a LOT. It is impossible to contact them for Customer service. The 1800 line says it's closed, and its 4pm here. I've been on hold with nothing but hold music for 30 minutes now when I called the Rainier/ ave Store in Seattle. What kind of business just won't answer the phone There's a problem with the Pella sliding doors that Prestige Home Remodeling installed (contracted to Lowe's). They cannot be found on the internet, and left no contact info. The sales guy Chance Nichols won't return my calls. The Pella people are trying to help, but there is no serial number plate on the doors installed. I'm now suspecting that the doors are counterfeit, and that Lowe's might be involved in some criminal activity, or the contractors they hire. read more

Ordered over $4,000 worth of cellular shades from Lowes in Bellingham. Very friendly people. Paid for install. Lowes apparently received the order and they called installer. Installer came and installed all but ONE shade for skylight. Lowe's informed via manager. Lowe's Home Décor returned call and said the cellular shade was in computer as being received and location of the product. Again Lowes called installer for pick up. We went to Lowe's in protest of the West Seattle Home Depot (where we waited for 30 minutes in the appliance section to get someone to take our money for a washer and dryer set). Tim from the Appliance section was quick at helping us order our washer and dryer set, and get the accompanying pipes, cords, and hoses, which is a huge relief because while we were waiting to buy a new set over Labor Day weekend, our dryer is broken and we have family coming to visit over the next few weeks. Being a West Seattleite, I'd normally go to the Home Depot on Delridge for convenience, but I'm willing to make the extra journey now even with the bridge being down to Lowe's on Rainier Ave for 2 things: good service and proximity to Ezell's for some spicy chicken afterwards. read more

This place turned me into a Karen. And I dont care, I'm telling Yelp. Came into Lowes 9.3.20 to get some electrical wire and supplies I needed. I went to the electriccal aisle and waited about 15 minutes and for someone to show up. When no one did, I found an employee sitting on a computer in the home improvement area WITHOUT A MASK ON who called over the intercom for assistance. No one arrived. After an additional 20 minutes, I called the store and less than tactfully complained. The person on the phone said they would send someone over ASAP. When the person arrived, they refused to use the coil of wire that I had pulled from my original raceway as a gauge of what I needed lengthwise. I had already grabbed rolls that were way more than i needed--but was tired of waiting and arguing, so i figured that i would eat the cost and leave before I lost my sh-- and made a scene. I got to the cash register and asked to speak to a manager. And when the cashier went to get him, he refused to get off the phone and attend to her. A line of people was piling up and o was embarrassed to find myself as "that person", no matter how justified I felt in complaining. I left about $150 worth of merchandise on the register and walked out. I'll go to Home Depot in the morning. Their plant section sucks too BTW. As an avid houseplant person, their stock is over-priced, not exciting, and usually full of some pestilence that can take out your entire collection. read more

I ordered a V20 20-volt Max 1/2-in Cordless Drill (1-Battery Included and Charger Included) & Screwdriver Bit Set Drill/Driver (35-Piece) and requested to pick it up at the Rainier Lowes. I checked the status of my order and saw that it had been canceled. I saw that it had been renewed and was ready for pickup. I picked up my order and went home, only to find I did not get the bit set. I must add that I was encouraged to please fill out the survey for the transaction. I did so immediately because the person who helped me was friendly and helpful, and the pickup experience was terrific. When I got home, I looked at my order, and it appeared the bit set was canceled. Based on what is listed online, I was under the impression that these two things, the drill and bit set, were a set. So I called the store from my desk phone at work. I was placed on hold for twenty minutes. I got to speak with someone when I called the store from my cell phone and stated I was on hold on another line for twenty minutes. The person told me the bit set was canceled because it was not in the store. They stated that the bit set appeared from where they were looking at it to be two separate items. I asked why I had been charged for both items because the order online reflected the drill and bit set price. He said I probably had not been charged for both and asked if I was looking at the order. I was at my desk looking at the order. They then stated that I would probably receive a refund for the amount of the bit set between now and up to 15 days. I told him that I needed the bit set. I ensured this person that while I had grown frustrated, I understood that this was not their company, store or fault; however, I needed the drill set. It was the reason I ordered the drill and the drill set. What could be done so that both of us could walk away from this situation where I would be satisfied with the level of service I received and the items I needed and paid for, and they could walk away having a good or better day? I have performed customer service for over thirty years. I don't believe in clowning, yelling, or hollering at someone just trying to do their job. However, it is evident by their tone that they had also become frustrated. I then asked whether you could find me the drill bit set at another Lowes. I was told they would check if it was at another Lowes and was placed on hold again. After a few minutes, I called the store on my work cell and asked for a manager. Someone else answered the phone and informed me that the other person had not returned because they were supposed to have been off fifteen minutes prior. I went through the situation again with this new person on the phone. They reiterated that I was "probably not charged for the bit set" and that when Lowes cancels an order or a portion of an order, I would see the reflection of the refund on my statement anywhere from 2 to 15 days. I asked if there was a bit set at another store. I did not think to ask if the bit set was at another store and could be sent to a store 3 miles from me so I did not have to go to another city to pick it up, and I was not offered that option. I was then told that the bit set was available at the Renton and North Seattle stores. I then spoke to the fact that I now had to find a way to another store and pay for the item I needed and wait for a possible refund and that this was very, very, very upsetting. I promise I said it that way with no yelling or foolishness'. I even asked the person on the phone to put themselves in my shoes, and I was sure we would find ourselves in the same place. I asked them if there would be some discount due to this inconvenience. They said the manager ( and told me their name) had gone home for the evening. They would email them about this situation and that they would get back to me. It just so happened that the manager was the person who provided excellent customer service earlier in the day when I picked up the items. I was then asked with an attitude if there was anything else. I said no, and told them to have a great rest of their day. I was so frustrated that I almost teared up. If I had yelled or been disrespectful, the outcome would have been different, but I am not that person. I am just a customer that needed an item to complete a repair in my home. Now I have a terrible taste in my mouth, so to speak, for this company, store and the customer service from the associates that did not reflect the fantastic customer service of their leadership. read more

Was told by the associate it was only the battery and I'd need to purchase the charger separately for $79.99. I'm honestly surprised there aren't more positive reviews! I have been here more times than I can count in the last six weeks since moving into a house I've had as a rental for ten years (gross. Will never be a landlord again!) I have received great service across the board and have on two occasions received exceptional service. My biggest shout out would be to Steven in appliances, Chris in Scheduling/delivery and Alberto with appliance delivery. Appliances are VERY stressful and there is so much potential for things to go wrong, especially when working in conjunction with a contractor who was so far behind. Steven helped me make informed decisions on my purchases and the scheduling/delivery was absolutely flawless. The only reason I walked in here was cos the charcoal gas grill I was looking for was on a deal here ($80 cheaper) but who would have thought I would have to spend way more money, time and patience dealing with folks at this store. It took me a month and a half to get the grill that i wanted after a couple of defective grill deliveries. I paid $75 for delivery the first time and thankfully fought off the delivery charges for subsequent deliveries. The grill arrived defective the charcoal stand was broken. The next time the grill arrived with scratches every where. Do they do no quality checks before sending the grill over for delivery? I ordered a washer and dryer set online and scheduled them for delivery (which was over a week). For some reason the dryer came from the Lynnwood location and arrived on time. The washer, however, was from the south seattle location for some reason and was tagged as in-store pickup. When I called they said I can either come pick it up or they can deliver it in another week! I don't live anywhere close to there. Are you kidding me?! This was clearly their mistake but they do nothing to resolve the situation other than give me two options, both of which are nothing more than a major inconvenience to me. Awful delivery experience. The order was to haul away and installation as I always trust that they do that for every order in the past. Has been using Lowe's for more than 15 years for all my appliances. The crew won't remove the dish washer to install the new one. They just ran off and won't wait for even 10 min for me to check my order online for what is going on. The language change some how now, everything is separate. Installation is separate, haul away means you have to remove the appliance yourself evidently. They don't even make it clear when you order. They screwed up my last order as well so bad that they had to come back 3 times to make it right. I don't know why this place gets such bad reviews. I've encountered some truly horrible human beings here, especially in the parking lot, but they have all been customers and I've only had positive experiences with the staff. So I come here for plants, if you want to get a review on tools, stop reading. Their plant section is actually pretty nice. One time I purchased a Peace Lily, when I arrived to my house I noticed there was a frog in it! It scared the crap out of me. Anyway, I was cruising in the plant section and I noticed a bonsai tree. It looked out of place because it looked way too fancy and it didn't have a tag on it. The cashier ended up charging me $30 for it after comparing it to other plants. Solid 2 star establishment. The employees are hit and miss. Some really try and care about their jobs, others seem completely clueless and as if they have received little or no training. The hardware is often messy and disorganized, and the plants in the garden section are often pretty beat up. I went on to buy today. I had to wait quite awhile for any help in spite of it being practically dead. When the man working the counter finally made time to assist me, he had absolutely zero knowledge of the products. I told him I needed to paint a small room that could fit a queen bed and little else and asked how much paint I would need. He said, "I have no idea." And threw his hands up. He said "one can covers 400 square feet." I am familiar with the general rule- a quart to 100 sq feet, a gallon to 400. I was kinda hoping the guy at the paint counter might have some real-life concept about how far the paint would go but just said "Ok, I'll go for the 400 square feet." He didn't respond and just went to work behind the counter. I waited several minutes and then asked him if he had an idea of how long it might be, thinking I would do some shopping while the paint was mixed. He told me he the paint he was pounding shut that very moment was mine. It was a quart of paint. I looked at it in dismay, and said "I wanted 400 square feet of coverage." He said, "This IS 400 square feet of coverage." I didn't know what to say. It was a quart of paint. When he finished mixing it and brought it to me, I asked if it was some kind of extended coverage formula or something because I a quart of paint typically only covers 100 sq feet. He disagreed with me again and I offered to show him online, resulting in him asking a coworker. She told him (what I already had) they it was a gallon that covered 400 sq feet. 2 stars for a 1 star store simply because some of the employees are really happy to have their jobs and are very kind, hard workers, but Jeez, Lowe's. Train your employees! People mixing paint should have SOME concept of how far it goes, and should certainly know the difference between a quart and a gallon. Lowe's is the home improvement store nearest to me (Auburn, Washington), so I desperately want to think they will improve their customer service. I recently got a charge card with them (third time I've had one). Yesterday I went in and asked them to honor their offer to beat the competition's price: Home Depot had a roll of flooring on a Deal of the Day special; the price was HALF of Lowe's price. The salesman in flooring said he didn't know how to do that price beating stuff. He sent me to the Pro Desk. The Pro looked up the deal on Home Depot's website and then said she didn't know how to do that price-beating deal either. She called someone and then said, "Go back to flooring. He'll help you when he finishes with his current customer." By that time, I had been in Lowe's 30+ minutes. I told the Pro that I had to get back to my desk - I had work to do. Of course, if I came back that evening, the special deal at HD would have expired. I told the Pro that Lowe's service was terrible. She shrugged. wow, this place gets hammered in reviews. i've been several times and i wouldn't describe it as stellar, but it's okay. I've picked up everything from concrete mix to lumber here. there is the normal home juju to find and try to repair your house with. sometimes things aren't the easiest to find and the staff can be less than helpful. nobody has thrown anything at me when I asked for assistance. so, the staff wouldn't rate a 5 on the surliness scale. to be honest, I've not purchased any equipment here. so maybe that is what is the difference in the poor ratings? read more

If I could give them a zero, and still send a review, I would. This started March 25th. I was told they would do my floor in 24~72 hours. After over a week of not hearing anything, I drove back down there, and found out they ordered me a floor that they no longer sell. Thanks for letting me know . NOT! After getting a new order done, comes payment. Payment wouldn't go through, kept getting an error. TWO hours later I paid without an order. Again, 24~72 hours. Again, I hear nothing. I have to drive down there a 2nd time. They apologized and gave me a date of April 4th. I finally get an email setting an appt for April 23rd. They told me any items Lowe's doesn't use, they will leave with me and I can return. So, April 23rd comes and he's here at 8am to install my kitchen floor. I was told they would be doing underlayment under the floor. I see him not putting that down, so I asked about it. He said don't need it cuz there is backing on the laminate. After much deliberation I got him to leave with me the plastic he didn't use. It was $35. I paid for it, I should be able to return it. There was also glue and tape he didn't use, and 1/4 rounds. 7 of them, 7 feet long. Again, why shouldn't I be able to return them? The transition board looked horrible, so he came today to fix it. He was scheduled to be here between 10a~12p. He showed up at 7:30am. He couldn't do anything to fix the transition board. I asked about the caulk and the underlayment tape. Said he keeps them in his truck for other jobs. So I pay $70 for them, and you keep them on your truck for the next customer? He returned them to me at that point. I live off $1700 pension. I used almost an entire paycheck for this new floor. I can't afford all these extras. This was by far the absolute worst experience I've ever had. It went from 72 hours, to 1~1\2 months. Wish I would have read reviews before I decided to go with them. Driving down there again today to return my extras. Hoping at this point I get my money back. read more

This review is for key service. As I had done many times over the past several years, I came to Lowe's key department to have them make me copies of a house key. Alas, the job was botched and none of the copies worked. Imagine my surprise when I came back to Lowe's to get a refund and the Customer Service Desk told me "We do not recommend our key service." Huh? But what the gal was intending to say is that they have a newfangled key machine at the front of the store that she assured me made copies correctly 99.9% of the time. So I gave the machine a try. You plug your key in a slot and swipe your debit/credit card and the machine makes copies. It's that simple. Cool! Note though that this machine does not copy car keys. But yes, the copies the machine made worked perfectly. read more

I like visiting DIY stores and I was excited to check this place out on black Friday. Unfortunately the place did not feel very welcoming. It felt very gloomy inside, the atmosphere was not lively at all, staff did not seem friendly, and the aisles look unorganized. I live close to a Home Depot and there's a big difference in ambiance and customer service. I hope management would look into improving this store. The Lowe's I used to shop in Portland Oregon was way better than this store. Otherwise, I think all of their items are comparable in HD in price and quality. read more

Wow, I've been to many Lowe's stores but this one is horrible. I have had more than one bad experience there and kept giving them the benefit of the doubt but today I just realized it's always this way. The service is terrible, over half of the products I've purchased I won't go through all of the past issues I've had with them, but I will say there have been problems at least 90% of the time I've purchased things from there. The cost of which has ranged from a few dollars to close to $500. Today I rented a car to pick up a custom piece of cut plexiglass. I gave the rather irritable employee the measurements and he reluctantly cut it and I returned home. When I got to my house and went to install it, I realized that he cut it totally wrong and it's too small. I could understand messing up one side but this guy was off on both sides. I no longer have the rental car so I called Lowe's hoping they would ship me a new piece or at least refund the original order over the phone. Nope--the woman told me I would need to rent another vehicle or find a ride to go there return it. So I've now paid $25 in car rental fees for an $11 piece of plastic, and now I need to pay another $25 on too of that. Thanks Lowe's I will just return this and go to Home Depot from now on. Washer delivery. The lowes delivery team arrived at my place and proceeded to walk into my house not wearing masks. The lead delivery then began to tell me what he was and wasn't going to do even though I had clear instructions for delivery of a new washer and removal of an old one. There was an issue with fit through a door and the delivery team refused to deliver through a separate entrance. The delivery team left the washer in my kitchen and proceeded to tell me that I was a racist and had a problem with black and Mexican people. Only the lead of the team was the problem. The other two were merely bystanders. After not fulfilling their delivery duties, the team refused to leave my property when asked and called me racist multiple times. Terrible store - I returned some items for gift card here and the same store will not accept it, even though it is a valid Lowe's gift card issued by them earlier this week. I even had to show ID to use the gift card, and they claimed I wasn't the owner of the card and thus couldn't use it, despite verifying with multiple forms of photo ID. Throughout the hour+ process of trying to pay for items with their own store-issued gift card (which they never ended up accepting), I was told several times by the exasperated employees to just forget about the gift card and accept that I would not be able to use it. Not accepting a gift card from your own store is the equivalent of theft, and I was treated like a criminal throughout the entire process for simply having "the gall" (in their own words) to attempt to use a gift card issued by their own store as payment. You can't even ask employees questions about their products because they rarely know even basic information. They act like helping you is a huge, painful favor on their part, and make sure you know how they feel about it. It's also pretty pathetic when the average customer knows significantly more about their products than their own employees. If you know exactly what you need and/or the item size/weigh makes ordering online cost-prohibitive due to shipping, this store has a decent selection, similar to other Lowe's. Just don't expect anyone to help you out and make sure to insist on returns back to the original card rather than a gift card. read more

1. Awesome: they have curbside pickup for online orders (a few dedicated parking spots closer to the entrance), and the folks that work there are super-great, 2. Not awesome: a. they don't tell you this when you order, neither on their web site nor in the "come pick up your order" email. b. inside the store didn't feel super-safe: the wait was long, and it felt too long to be with people in an enclosed space. It was about 5pm on a weeknight, so maybe if I went earlier in the day that wouldn't be a problem. But over time I've gotten really fed up with things like almost always being unable to find specific items for a plumbing project because they can't seem to focus on maintaining inventory. Added to that is my frustration at how often store employees are unable to help me because they lack adequate knowledge about the items I'm looking for. On top of that is the reality that, while it may be a somewhat rare occurrence, still far too often employees are just rude and unpleasant. If the store is unable to teach employees to be considerate and friendly then the message I get sometimes is that the store doesn't need or appreciate my business. Ask my question, doesn't even feel like checking since apparently he is so good at his job he knows every bit of inventory available. Gets an attitude when I ask him to check if they do carry it.
