There is an excellent selection of hardware products including a comprehensive electrical department. Worst possible customer service EVER. I bought a roof from home depot that leaked after 7 years. They sent an estimator who said it was faulty installation, 2 contractors confirmed this when they low-balled me on the warranty for repairs. They then said that I voided my warranty due to lack of maintenance, and offered me a $1700 (contractor estimated cost at $10,000. I arrived here because my boss told me to go buy a certain item which was a a painters stick or a painters handle. Of course my boss is going to reimburse me or the company is gonna reimburse me. I'm not even sure what that's called. But at the time I was in town in Seattle to do a house inspection of several homes and commercial Buildings so I had to get one of these sticks. It was nice that they carried it at Home Depot and the people at the painter section department they were nice enough to help me. And this is a typical Home Depot like everywhere else. I am middle of the road on Home Depot with a 2-3 rating. Home Depot staff at Bothell and Lynnwood are pretty great, 4-5 star. HomeDepot.com gets -0- star. They have slow shipping and delivery dates, which they can't even meet. Their promised delivery dates are 100% unreliable and a fantasy. I've learned my lesson. I had a great experience with Jets/Jetsuen at the Home Depot Customer Service desk. He was phenomenal , polite, patient, and genuinely kind. He explained what he was doing every step of the way and was clear in his instructions. I came in early with a pile of random returns on different receipts and different cards(Yes I was THAT customer...), and he never showed an ounce of frustration or sarcasm. The manager's name David wasn't responding professional. He took my card and phone number and He told me to go home and wait for his call because he need to talk with home depot department to solve my problem. I have been waiting for a week but he hasn't been calling me. Then I called him and he put me on hold for long time if I didn't hang up about 30 minutes. I'm a silly girl who locked my keys in my trunk, parked in their parking lot, and I ran inside hoping to find some help and 6 different people came out with tools and ideas on ways to get my door open. These people took time out of their day to help me and I have no words to describe how thankful I am for them. I didn't catch their names and I regret not doing so but they did more than make me feel okay with my silly mistake, they helped and got the job done with smiles on their faces. Nobody to answer questions. No regular checkstands, and a line for self checkout. A worker in a mask is directing folks and when I ask a question and explain I'm hard of hearing, he mumbles and points. I think he is directing me, but no. And three other workers come and chat him up while no one will open a checkstand. Aisles are cluttered and the store is depressing. Not worth the time I saved. I've been to Home Depot in various places lately, the service is better than before. The floor inside the store is clean and no trash. I came to buy 2 of 4x4 wooden posts and some parts. They were quickly found where the lumbar was. Everything has been raised prices, but it can't be helped. I always see the gardening center at the end. There are lots of indoor and outdoor plants and I buy something while I'm watching. The colorful flowers and trees are fascinating and always exceed my budget. There are pros and cons to this Depot. It's scary that the entire parking lot is fenced in to keep something in or out. The place is packed with things you can use to fix your house. But the aisles are jammed and I must have gotten bumped into four times in 5 minutes looking at product. An employee asked if I needed help finding something without me asking. But the aisles are stacked so high it's hard to see the signs describing where products are located. I forgot to leave a trail of crumbs. read more

I ordered (online) a refrigerator to be delivered. Next morning (and just about every day after for nearly two weeks) I called the ph # Hm Dpt gave me to arrange for deliv and install vs deliv only. I hadn't realized how many ways one simple order could be completely screwed up until I had to deal with Hm Dpt. A few of my faves: One dude told me I had to call two different depts to make deliv and install arrangements and when I said I preferred not to do more calling and being on-hold for 20 min, he gave me two "direct" ph #s, both of which appear to be made-up. (He couldn't keep straight what nos. he'd given me when I tried to confirm the info. So I immed tried the nos, and the calls wouldn't go thru.) Another: One of the phone calls...I finally get a human after 20 min...who disconnects me. Another fave: On June 9, I find a something on one of their order tracking pages, saying that the window of deliv would be June 10-13 (the ETAs were ever-chging!). And when was it delivered? June 9! I went outside to get the mail and saw the delivery guys walking away after dumping it on my walkway (Home Depot's instructions to them that I had tried at least a dozen times to correct). Had I not walked outside, I would have had a refrig sitting in front of my house for who knows how long. I could go on ... and on ... and on ... and on ... read more

For the last 4 years we've been doing a major remodel of a nearly 100-year-old wood building dividing it up into multiple workshops. I have purchased electrical, plumbing, lumber, and other related products. But I have also purchased I-joists, and split system heat pumps. Who knew. I have found the folks there to be friendly and helpful. But there is a special call out to the plumbing department especially Marty and Craig both of whom used to be plumbers and have proved to be very helpful and willing to answer most questions. Just awful experience attempting to rent a wood chipper. I reserved it a week out, received multiple confirmation emails that it would be ready at 7:00AM the night prior, thought everything was good so I took off work do do my project. Received a cancellation at 4:30am the next day, no explanation why. Called and a guy said the blades were broken, the chipper shouldn't have even been listed. I asked why they confirmed it when they knew it was broke, and he said it was just an automatic system. Didn't attempt to remedy in the situation in any way, clearly saw it as my problem that I attempted to rent a broken chipper, not his (didn't even apologize or offer to help find another one). If you want to have your project completely thrown off and basically be told to F*ck off for being upset about it, I highly recommend renting from this location. read more

I used Home Depot window and door installation to get a job done. Here is the letter that I ended up sending to the "job manager", which never got a response: Hello Danitra, I believe we spoke on the phone yesterday during the botched window installation. I was expecting to hear from Home Depot immediately today regarding next steps - mainly, that another window has been ordered with the correct design. I would also like to know what financial compensation Home Depot is going to provide me for my time. I spent four hours of my day yesterday as vacation time from my job in order to be present for Home Depot's mistake. If the installer had taken the time to check with me on the window that they had brought before they started the job it would have saved at least an hour and a half. (This is because the installer never called me to tell me what time they would arrive, so I was at the installation location at 8am since the window provided was 8-10am. They arrived just before or just after 10am so I'd already spent two hours on this before they even showed up.) Not only was the wrong window installed, but the installers hammered out the existing window frame so that the plastic shattered and threw pieces all over my sidewalk, lawn, and flower beds. I don't understand why they couldn't just wrap a rag around the frame pieces before hitting it with a hammer so that all the shatter pieces stay contained. Additionally, the installers don't use foot-wraps or remove their boots and they didn't lay down plastic cover before starting work. Fortunately it wasn't raining in Seattle at the time yesterday so they didn't get the carpet muddy. I am terribly disappointed with my Home Depot experience on this job. As I said multiple times, I was instructed that I had to get the window replaced to comply with City of Seattle building code, and I already asked the City for an extension because of the long lead time for Home Depot to receive the window and schedule the installation. Now I will have to ask for another extension or face fines for non-compliance. I expect much better execution than this from Home Depot and I expect that Home Depot staff will do much better than just tell me "there is nothing we can do" and then ignore me. I went to home depot to buy some random household items and the women checking me out asked if I wanted 25% off. I said sure but what's the catch? She said there no catch you would just be signed up for a membership card at home depot. I questioned her multiple times if it was a credit card and she said no, multiple times. She had me full out my name and address and I didn't think much of it, but i've heard of companies being slick with credit cards so that's why i made sure to ask her. low and behold i receive a CREDIT CARD in the mail 3 weeks later. And it is already activated, unlike all other cards where you have to call to activate them. The employee literally lied straight to my face and I can't imagine how many people they are taking advantage of who don't know better. The Dying (hard) Art of Customer Service I don't even know where to begin- this is a compounding combination of terrible CX. The truth is that it's a simple black and white sich and for whatever reason the care is subpar. I purchased their in-stock pantry cabinet at southcenter where they charged me $280. And I purchased the last item in stock, so then I had to go to downtown to get another one. This is my second pantry- the first was purchased a few years ago and I remember it being cheaper--but didn't question the markup. I needed another one --3rd in total and 2nd purchased in 2019-so here I am at the SODO location.... The second cabinet cost me $150 --- the price I distinctly remember when I purchased the original one a few years ago (first of the now 3 pantries). GREAT... right?! I thought I'll just get a price adjustment later when I grab the $280 receipt. I get home and unpack the pantry and it's aged- cracked in multiple places; with staples that weren't even shot onto the seam, so the side was pulling off. On top of that the door was scratched inside and both of the doors had mold in the inside. This thing is huge, so I was not about to load it back into my car to haul it back--- I dealt with it with some glue, and strategic placement. So now I'm at the store and all I asked for is a price adjustment for the $280 to drop it to the $150 and get a discount on the $150 for the damages. Here's the feedback --- I got "no we can't price adjust since every store sets their own price" this is nuts! One Corp, same skew and a huge price discrepancy -- no price patch option WITHIN their own company!!! For damage I was offered $50 for any purchase I need. I needed a third cab and was told they don't have any- a little bit of digging and they found one at the top of the pallets. I just don't understand how we went from them not having any to them Having one in stock in a letter of 10 mins. When they were singing the "we don't have any in stock" song I asked if they can just do adjustments with receipts since skews are there-- and again I was told that I must have item here to do any adjustment. (This is BS! I worked retail!!!) and bringing a pantry back is Not and option! So whilst we stared at one another another pantry appeared! I asked for manager's help and no one came to help- they just brushed me off in a phone convo between the clerk and manager--- that also felt very dismissive and impersonal. The clerk finalized the sale of the 3rd cabinet and gave me $50 off and another $25 off for all the damage. Thanks! But.... the process and the fact that I still have paid 2x for the same exact thing at the same store down the road sucks!!! read more

On 12/19/2020, a delivery was made, and damage occurred to the residence. After a month of me making phone calls to home depot, Sedgewick, and Temco Logistics, my claim was denied. As of now, it has been over a month, and the unit is still undelivered, there is damage to the property, and Temco is declining my claim. At this time, my tenant is still without a fridge, Temco is refusing to pay for the damage. This is making me look bad in front of the tenant. read more

As expected--told my spouse not to go to HD. Did anyway, enticed by a lower price. They show up in downtown Seattle with the biggest truck ever to deliver a standard microwave. They said will have to cancel as nowhere to park-dah! We went downstairs street level to point out where to park and they did. I went out to do errands. I get a message that they left from spouse because dimensions were incorrect. 1/8-1/4" too high in dimension, although current one standard size too. I investigated. We do have some additional tile so we could reinstalled that below the microwave to make it work. We called them back. Cancelled. Get in the back of the line for another day. I told my spouse when we got up to not expect it to be done today. My uncle used them in Reno a year ago. It took them hours to get a standard microwave installed into a house less than 8 yrs old. Waste of time. I was mad though because they obviously simply don't want to do their job. So do your homework and go somewhere else. We called to get a credit and went to another store, so in two weeks we can get it installed. Waste of our time read more

Awful customer service. I went in to get a Christmas tree and there were no price signs anywhere, I finally tracked down an employee because no one was in the outer plant shop where they're located to get a price check. There was a long line to checkout with employees standing around self checkout but not directing anything. I got one of the little trees with the stand attached and lugged it out to haul myself with no offer to help. Once I got home I went to fill the stand with water, water went everywhere. So after cleaning up a huge mess, I moved the tree only to find a crack in the stand. Honestly I get it, it's just plastic it can easily break but when I called to get a refund they said I had to bring the tree back in which is absurd, I then asked if I could send a photo if they need proof and supposedly a manager said I could take photos and bring it in with my receipt which is just such bad customer service especially when this product made a huge mess in my apartment and it's not convenient to drive back to the store to likely be harassed again over the photos of their faulty tree stand. A piece of advice: I work in retail you can pull up any transaction and take care of the customer over the phone, trust your customer and offer a solution like email the photo if you really need proof. read more

Customer service is terrible and the property is not safe! 1) In August 2020, we bought a refrigerator that was delivered damaged. Home Depot made it very difficult to get a replacement by punting my call around and around and eventually back to the Manufacturer who punted me back to the store. It took a month for a replacement. 2) In October 2020, our car was stolen from the parking lot of the store on Utah Ave. We watched it drive out of the parking lot. At 8:00am on a weekday. This store is not safe and after talking to loss prevention, it became obvious that customer safety and satisfaction is not a priority. We will never set foot into this store again. read more

This had to be the best experience in a home improvement store that one could ask for. The Downtown Seattle store (among other retailers throughout the state) was dealing with call after call and request after request for any and all portable air conditioning units. Having had a 110 degree day in Seattle (which hasn't ever happened in my lifetime), all stores were out of stock. I was visiting my parents and realized they needed a replacement. Saw online that this store would have it. They hadn't received it. Had been waiting a couple days for an emergency shipment by truck coming to the Seattle area. There was hope though. Many of us arrived around 5AM and it was down to only a handful who could wait and waited. Managers, Mike, Cody (who greeted every single person with a smile at 5AM who was waiting in line), and Dan (from the Merchandising Team) were so kind, incredibly empathetic and were just as hopeful as we were. It didn't help that we waited with our carts in the section of empty a/c shelves. They knew we were doing our best not to leave without an a/c unit. They even graciously brought us bottled water. They did not need to do that but it was a simple yet kind gesture. By chance and patience, the truck arrived 4 hours later and they led us to what felt like gold. I seriously will NEVER shop anywhere beside Home Depot from now on. In fact, Downtown Seattle (Lander location) is my place. Thanks so much to the kind, honest and incredibly amazing team at Home Depot Lander. You have a 'forever' customer. On a separate note, Dan (in the pic) mentioned to a small group of us that he has been working for with Home Depot for 18 years - we get it. Clearly a great company. I was looking for one thing and I ended up taking to 7 different people. SEVEN! I am not going to get into all of the nonsense that I experienced and witnessed except for one instance that I found absolutely disgusting. There was an older Asian American man who was wanting some help and the racist Home Depot associate treated the customer with absolutely no respect. He talked to the customer as if the customer was an idiot and didn't understand any English. He repeated the same stupid nonsense over and over even as the customer asked different questions that were not being answered. As I watched this my blood began to boil but I did everything I could to not make a scene. I was waiting to talk to this Home Depot staff person but the more I listened I just could not believe they would employ someone like this in 2020. He kept repeating himself and the customer never had his question answered. He finally sort of gave up and just sort of lowered his head. I felt awful. I asked my question and this guy basically would not answer my question. He did some run around nonsense so I cut him off and made him simply tell me which one was better. He got defensive and said well don't cut me off and get rude. I was like "look you kept interrupting that nice guy ahead of me and talked to him as if he was an idiot. You never answered his question and furthermore you insulted him and he looked sad after talking to you." He was taken aback a bit and didn't know what to say. I said just tell me which one is better and I'll get that. I really do not want to talk with you anymore. He didn't apologize or say anything but he did finally tell me what item to choose and I simply said thank you and searched for someone else to help me. I never ended up getting anything here because I was told 4 different things from different associates so I decided to go to Loews. Please train your staff better in people skills as well as about your products. This was an awful experience. read more

I'd like to give a shout out to this location. While I normally shop at their competitors, this holiday season this location saved my ass. I'm a PA and I needed a specific white Christmas tree. I had placed an order with another company and they kept delaying it and it was getting to be a scary thing for my job. Magically I logged in a found they had them in stock here at Home Depot. I was able to call, confirm the inventory and order it immediately. It was ready promptly and I was able to park, walk in and grab it! THANK YOU SO MUCH HOME DEPOT! I will be back!!! read more

Moving here from LA means frequent HD visits to get my apartment ready for move-in. Thankfully my car-free existence isn't hindered by a few cans of paint. The bike trail to the store is wide and unused. The Starbucks corporate office is a sweet neighbor. The HD hotties in orange aprons were awesome. Shoutout to the paint crew! I'm pretty sure I met a good number of them. Kara and Lonnie are the two names I remember. Thanks to all. I even saw a community group forming a relationship with the Home Depot store.
