Thanks to the woman working the self-checkout tonight for treating me so contemptuously in front of my grandson. I had trouble using the self-checkout and said to my grandson, "I hate these things." From behind and unsolicited, I get, "I would have gladly helped," pause for effect, "if you had asked." It was not what was said; it was the attitude and inflection in her voice. It dripped with sarcasm and contempt. I appreciate that I'm older and not really good with these checkout machines. I didn't solicit her assistance and didn't want or need her help or attitude; I would have figured it out. So I left $70.00 worth of products on the counter, went to The Depot, purchased the same items, and used the self-checkout without any problem. This is one of the two Lowe's closest to my condo in Providence. I like that is close to many other stores that I frequent so it's an easy part of a shopping trip. I went to check out some ceiling fans and their selection is really good, as well as the prices...they really have different price points and quality to choose from. So based on your budget, it's easy to find something that fits your needs. Staff is scarce but once you find someone, they are very helpful. While inside I noticed some birds flying around and mice scurrying around one of the isles.. the prices are typical of other Lowe's locations. Based only on a picture from last years model, a customer service rep in hardware dept was able to recommend all of the pieces I would need to build my vision. He even told me he used to be a halloween decor builder and creator! He took his time considering all of the elements, and even built the back bone of it for me. I was so amazed at the time and care that I received and enjoyed learning more about hardware. warning to all buyers: beyond furious with lowes and especially the seekonk store #1932. spent almost $400 on items that were never disclosed to me that the return policy was different. employees and managers (lenny & joe) brush off this fact and blame corporate. no one is taking accountablity or willing to make any adjustments. we spend thousands of dollars with lowes and now i cannot trust that items i purchase will be honored to return. items were not opened and we have the receipt. no one can tell me when these said signs were put up. i know for a fact they werent up because i looked for this prior to checking out. cashier is quick to offer a credit card but nothing about return policy. its illegal to not disclose this information at time of purchase. read more

I only have a Home Depot where I live, and LOWES offers so much more and both higher end materials and quality quantity of materials. However, tonight was a mix tonight. When I was looking for a stud finder, a gentleman left what he was doing and took me across the store and helped me quite a bit. However, when I went to check out, They were no manned registers available. Everything with self check out. And there was a high school boy that was sitting there, playing on his phone and appeared very disInterested in helping me out. Buyers Beware ! You will do business with this Lowe's home improvement department at your own peril! I contracted with them last April for a fence installation and was told by their employee Michael Woods the work would be done in 6-8 weeks. This turned out to be a boldface lie. After several weeks went by i called the new store manager Patrick to find out what the hold up was as I hadn't heard anything after prepaying a hefty sum of money. Only then did I hear from a subcontractor fence company called Anchor out of Pawtucket. They advised me they were booked solid and it would be August before they could do installation. They also stated they had similar issues with other customers being told erroneous timeframes by Mike Woods, etc. Grant it - things have been tricky because of covid-- but given the amount of misleading communications .. and there were many... Lowe's couldn't even get my change of phone number updated correctly in their system even though I called twice and was told twice it was updated.. so, on day of delivery for fence materials.. no one had my new phone # to advise me of imminent delivery, and, as a result I was out the door to an important meeting without a minute to spare when a giant flat bed truck arrives at my house wanting to know where to leave everything just as we are expecting torrential rains ( one pallet has several bags of cement in paper bags which had insufficient plastic wrap to keep it dry )... on and on ! This was a truly horrible experience all around and in hindsight I wished I had just cancelled the order and gotten a refund once i knew they were going to have my money for 5 months before I would ever see my fence! In the end the fence went up and looked okay until I realized there was an insufficient amount of cement used to anchor the posts. Fence was flexing the next day when Henri blew through. This caused me a whole new level of aggravation with the fence company who says they can't do anything on their own to correct without going through a song and a dance with Lowe's first. I went to GREAT lengths to explain I needed these posts FIRMLY anchored as I live somewhere with high winds near the water, very sandy soil and have erosion issues where fence was to be placed. No one cared to listen. I'm leaving a before pix and ( AFTER I had to take matters into my own hands after adding proper amount of cement )... clearly what was originally done was inadequate! ... just read the instructions on side of quikrete for setting posts and hole size recommendations, etc. The real kicker is after the fence was installed I noticed there was at least 4 bags of unused cement... hmmm? As a customer I should have never had to be put through this ordeal. Anchor fence kept blaming all the screw ups on Lowe's .. wonder why they keep taking set ups from them for work if they believe they are so awfull??! Keywords from this experience: deceptive, unprofessional, ineffective systems of communication, uber aggravation, stay away! Eh....I like the Lowe's on Route 1 in Attleboro but this location was really bad this Saturday morning. Employees no where to be found unless you count the 10 or so huddled at the registers ignoring incoming customers - the Easter bunny greeted, that was about it! I get to the aisle my phone shows for the item I needed and could not find it. I checked nearby aisles just in case before seeking help....since, I could not find an actual employee in that entire department -I use the "call for help" box provided and then got attitude about it from the employee who eventually showed up!! (I didn't know you could switch it off - how would I? It literally just says "ask for help" on a button!) After all that - the attitude filled guy sends me to another department to find out I was in the right department to begin with! Apparently, they just show an online only item as being in stock, when it was not. Luckily, a young man (who seemed busy but did not have an attitude) at the nearest desk quickly checked stock and let me know that the item is no longer available in store. He did his job, got me the info I needed - so that was great compared to the first associates "help". I spent almost an hour in this store and left empty handed. I would not bother shopping this location again unless it were a dire emergency! And I thought Home Depot was bad?! Lowe's - what is going on in this Seekonk store?! read more

WARNING: DO NOT EVER ORDER FROM LOWES SEEKONK! They are the absolute worst company with deplorable customer service. Here is our experience: We ordered custom blinds from Lowe's Seekonk over 2 and a half months ago. We were told they'd take 4 weeks because of COVID. We called around the time of delivery to ask for a status update. After FIFTEEN calls we finally received the news they had been delivered weeks ago to an unknown address. NOT THE ADDRESS ON THE ORDER FORM. We finally sorted a new batch to be delivered to the store instead of our home address. We'd have to wait another 4 weeks. We got a call last night that they're being delivered to our house today - no warning - not the place it's meant to be delivered. I've called repeatedly today to only get in touch with someone that told me there is nothing they can do about the delivery. I then asked to speak with a manager. I was transferred THREE times to someone who was not a manager and then hung up on. This location is beyond infuriating and confused. They're next level incompetent. Do not ever order from them. This is how they treat a $2k custom order. I will be refusing the payment on my credit card if I don't hear from someone shortly. read more

We had Lowes come out and measure our windows and doors a few weeks back and we have been chasing them ever since for the quote. Nobody will get back to us. We've called, we have gone to the store multiple times but nobody will take responsibility for getting us the quote. We were told by the contractor who came out that the quote would be in our hands in a couple of days. Do not believe them! Lowes also charged us a fee to come out and give a quote. Rip off! The only reason why I'm giving this establishment 5 stars is because of one worker. I'm not positive of his name, I believe it was Jeff, but he was extraordinary. I had a couple of questions, but he answered them well. I noticed multiple customers being quite rude to him, so I give him credit for being able to handle them so nicely even under the circumstances. I would recommend people to go to this store and talk to him, and hopefully that's his name, because I'm pretty sure it is. Until recently, I had little use for a store like Lowe's... now, it seems like I need it more than ever! All the things I never needed in a rental apartment are essentials in a rental home. Whenever I come here I feel like a kid in a candy store... I want the convenience of everything! At first I felt a bit overwhelmed by the sheer volume of this place and wondered how I would ever find the specific list of items I needed. Lowes.com was a great starting point to deal with this issue. Look up an item and it will tell you exactly which aisle and bay number you need to find your item. This worked pretty well most of the time, except when something was moved for a specialty item (in this case... Christmas is beginning to take over the store). If the item wasn't right where the program said it was... it was pretty close by. Even though I was able to use the program, there were plenty of store associates walking about for me to ask questions. All were knowledgeable and able to point me in the right direction. All employees were very personable... some went out of their way to ask if I needed any help, others made jokes and easy conversation about the products I intended to purchase. Over the last couple of days I have bought a washing machine, dehumidifier, speedy dry, shop towels, and a Christmas gift or two within these walls. Given the number of things that have required maintenance over the last couple of weeks, I am sure that I will be returning here again soon enough. Btw... Lowe's has a 10% Military discount all the time! It really comes in handy with those large purchases! read more

I was in the Seekonk MA Lowes (Store 1932) last weekend and saw no fewer than 5 employees (not to mention twice as many customers) walking around inside with masks below their chins or not covering their noses, evidence of limited understanding of the importance of properly fitting PPE in fighting the coronavirus pandemic. One employee cheerfully approached me with the mask below his nose and asked if he could help. I appreciated the well-meaning effort and yet I was compelled to ask him to cover up completely. I know it's difficult to ensure that customers comply with the need for masks in your stores, but--at minimum--employees must be committed to proper health and safety protocol and should encourage the same from anyone visiting their stores. They shouldn't be working at Lowes if they're unwilling to follow this simple measure to keep customers safe. Please require employees (and customers, if legally possible) to cover up--mouth, nose and chin. read more

Ordered stainless steel appliances for my kitchen for close to $3,000. The door handle to the refrigerator was scratched and the dishwasher was dented. 1.) The door handle was easily fixed by having the delivery service return to replace the door handle. 2.) The dishwasher was left in the box as delivered to keep the appliance from being damaged. A hired contractor installed the dishwasher when we were at work. Notice the dishwasher has a couple of dents in the front door. Lowe's stated they would re-delivery a new one but would not be responsible for the new installation. The delivery service was very professional but they could not un-install the dented dishwasher. I had to call another plumber to have the new dishwasher installed. It was also on me to call Lowe's to schedule a pick-up of the dented dishwasher. They do not make it easy. read more

Contractors: BEWARE I ordered fence panels and materials ($3,000 order) on Feb 14. Promised to me it'd be here in a week up to 10 days. Fast forward 3 weeks; I get a call from MY customer that his fence has been in since the 2nd of March. I was never notified, but my customer thinks I'm trying to keep the materials. I came in to Lowe's today took about 15 minutes for someone to even help me at the Pro desk. Had to cancel the order because I lost the job. I will never be ordering from here again. I have spent well over $20,000 the last few months here. And you know what? Home Depot actually gives you a call when your order comes in. I will never make an order from here again. read more

I have a love/hate relationship with the big box home improvement stores. It seems over the years I've taken a preference towards Lowe's though. They cater more to the cosmetic part of home improvement such as paint, linens, lighting, etc. versus the structural because their lumber, electrical and tool selections are lacking a bit compared to the competitor down the road. They carry Valspar paint, which I am a big fan of. And their decor items are pretty decent and modern. But I have to agree wholeheartedly with the filtered review regarding the worst customer service. When you can actually find someone to help you, they either are totally clueless about the department they're working or they give you flat out wrong information. (Why, yes, you actually do sell fireplace maintenance items, for your information.) But if you know your stuff and don't want to be bothered (or helped) by salespeople then Lowe's is the place for you. And considering there aren't many other places I can grab paint, plants, cleaning supplies, a new bath mat and a candy bar all at once, it looks like I'll continue to shop at Lowe's as well. read more

After receiving a Weber grill as a housewarming present, we had it delivered the following day. We got the usual pre-call the night before stating the time delivered would be between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. The following morning at 7:30 a.m. we got a phone call asking if it was ok to be on our doorstep with the new grill in about 25 minutes, we said "sure!", they arrived on time and put our gorgeous grill on our deck. Later on, I went out and noticed there were a few things missing, I called and got Andrew in the assembly department. He was super nice, really helpful, and not only remedied the missing parts situation, but gave us extra "just in case". We were also in need of a special set of screens for the french doors that the previous owners installed (no screens, they can't be sliders, retractable screens are upwards of $300) and Jim came to our financial and sanity rescue with the screen doors to fit the door purchased at that store. He took the extra time with us, we had no such luck at the other Big Box store. Typically, we've gone to our local store, but sometimes you find yourself needing a larger variety.. I haven't been to Lowe's often, but now that we're homeowners, and with customer service like this, you can bet we'll be coming back here when we need to. read more

I went to Lowe's in Seekonk, MA on November 5 to order garage doors because the house I am selling needed them replaced before the closing. On November 14, the subcontractor Lowe's pays to take the measurements finally came by to measure. Lowe's said they'd call us in a day or so when they got the measurements and we could order the door in plenty of time for the closing. November 19 comes around and no call yet, so I rang Lowe's to see if the measurements were in yet. "Nope, not yet. What's your name? Ok we'll give them a call now and get back to you." A day passes, still no call from Lowe's so I rang again with the same request. Same response: "Huh, seems like a long time. We'll call them and then call you." Day goes by again, still no call. Thanksgiving happened so I gave them a break. Everybody gets busy around the holiday. No problem. November 25 comes and I start to call again. Every day I call and politely explain the situation. Every day the same reply came back. "We'll call them and get back to you." Two guesses on whether they called. Now it's November 29th, the closing is coming up shortly, and when I call again and tell the person that I've been calling them for over a week with no response and that I desperately need their help to get this done, the guy basically shrugs his shoulders and says there's nothing he can do. And nothing was exactly what he, and everyone else at Lowe's, did to help. No "I'll make sure we get ahold of the person today". No "We'll refund the cost of the measurements as a gesture of good will". No "We'll send someone else out there right away to take another set of measurements." Not even a half-hearted "I'm sorry for your trouble." Just ... "Nothing we can do." Well, from now on there's something I can do - never shop at Lowe's again. As a new homeowner, I have been visiting Lowe's and their competitors on a weekly (or multi-weekly) basis now. When it comes down to it, I prefer Lowe's over their orange colored rival. The Lowe's in Seakonk seem to have good service, appears rather organized and clean, and makes for a pretty easy in and out when supplies are needed. Prices appear to be about average for the warehouse big-box home supplies stores and they have a credit card service that gives you a discount or financing plans with purchase of certain items. We bought our washer and dryer from Lowe's and it came with free shipping and with our new Lowe's credit card we had interest free financing as long as we may it off in a certain amount of time. So, as much as I love to shop local, sometimes certain items are much easier (and cheaper) to acquire through a big box store. If I have to choose a place to purchase home and building supplies I would most likely choose Lowe's and especially this particular location for the above reasons. Not the most exciting place to shop, but really, who finds spending massive amounts of money on house stuff exciting? Well I'm sure there is someone out there who does, but it's not me. read more

His demeanor lacked professionalism and his response to all my questions breathed condescension in regards to the shed I was purchasing.The eye rolls were numerous. Need a light bulb or some tools and Lowe's is fine. Need CARPET? Avoid Lowe's entirely. After 3 weeks of being told the carpet would be coming soon, it never came. I later found they let carpet supplier's trucks fill to the top with Lowe's customer's orders before allowing them to leave - sometimes taking extra weeks during which everyone's schedule is shredded. I found a solution better in all respects (cheaper, much faster, knowledgeable) and went to Big Bob's Flooring across the street from the Seekonk Home Depot. Lowe's returned most of the money but kept about $40 despite the fault being entirely theirs. They get the second star for good parking... read more

Went to Lowe's in Seekonk on Sunday night at 720 PM to obtain a replacement water filter for our Samsung refrigerator. In the appliance department was helped by a very accomodating rep who helped me locate a filter, their last one available that was no longer on the rack. He had to search in the back to locate one. Went out of his way to help. Then bought some potting soil and leaf bags. While loading them into the car, another rep came over who was gathering up stray carts and collected the carriage saving me a bit of time. A nice gesture. In general the staff are friendly and helpful. At off hours, just not that many for the size of the store. Another vignette. Two weeks ago, went to the window blinds department to take advantage of a sale. The rep that evening set up a in home measurement of the windows in question, but it never happened. He apparently was a new rep and not cognizant of that procedure. When I called back, spoke with MAX. He fixed everything. Got the installer to schedule. Provided me with a telephone contact. Told me the visit was free because of a special offer that week and grandfathered the sale price for the blinds which has expired the week earlier. Again, there are helpful and courteous people still left in this crazy world! read more

I equate Lowe's to Target and Home Depot to Walmart in terms of cleanliness. When I walk into Lowe's I'm always impressed by how clean and well organized everything is, and as we're currently building a house my wife and I were excited that we were able to find all of our lighting here. There are times when I prefer Home Depot over Lowe's, there are times when I prefer Lowe's over Home Depot...they're both good stores! read more

If you need your appliance delivered and installed do NOT, I repeat, do not, use this Lowe's -- or I suspect any. I went to the store on July 24 and after speaking for a while with an indifferent salesman, I ordered a stove. I was told they didn't have it in stock, but they could get it by Aug 8. I also paid for the delivery and installment. They said a contractor would call me when it was delivered. The contractor called me Aug 10 or 11 and said they couldn't install it until Aug 31. Someone would call the day before and give me a window of time. No one called. After calling Lowes to get the phone number for the contracting company, I called that number at 10 am to ask if they knew when I could expect delivery. "We'll text the technician and have him call you. You're on today's schedule." At noon I called again to say I hadn't received a call. Same response. At 3:30 I called again and they said, nonchalantly, it's unlikely it will be delivered today, and that they couldn't put me on the schedule for another week. I had taken the day off from work and I never felt I could leave the house! Then I called Lowes to complain and to ask for some compensation; I was transferred from one manager to another. They told me they were sending me up "the corporate ladder" and I'd get a call the following day. No call. So I cancelled the order. Today I went to a local appliance store, got fabulous treatment from the saleswoman, and the prices were exactly the same. In fact, the installation price is less. They have scheduled delivery and installation in a little over a week, and they apologized for that. Buy LOCAL. I learned this lesson the hard way. read more
