We are ready to undertake a kitchen remodel. This is our second day on the journey. Last week we went to look at model kitchens at IKEA and today it was a trip to Lowes. Sam in their kitchen remodel department was very helpful. He was very knowledgeable about where to start and the procedures. He suggested we start with the cabinent before the countertops. I also learned that they are two differnt contracts. You don't do them together, which is confusing for me as don't you want the work people to coordinate so all the work gets done at the same time. We learned that they don't actually come to your house to measure for your kitchen cabinent. What if you measure wrong? We learned that you need to get permits before dong your own kitchen and that's the homeowners responsibility. We learned that painted Cabinets are more expensive then stained. Though stained means you'll be using real wood. Sam prefers natural stone due to its longevity. We're not sure how that would look with our fake wood/lament floors. Sam is referring to Natural as Granite or Quartzite. From looking at the chart it seems that Delton and Porcelain is are better when it comes to stain resistant and scratch resistant and heat resistant. I also like the lass countertops they had at Ikea which they don't offer At Lowes. From the sounds of it it's going to take around 2 months of life without a working kitchen for us. That doesn't sound good. That's a lot of going out to eat. Though if we do it this summer the good thing is we'll be eating lots of salads and sandwiches anyway due to the hot weather. And cold cereal for breakfast. It also sounds like we need to buy everything ourselves versus going through a contractor to ensure we are the holders of the warrantee. Apparently who ever pays for it is the holder. Thant's news to me. There is an additional 10 year warrantee you can buy for the countertops that's around $400. That includes any accidents by the buyer or malfunctions in the workmanship. He said it's worth it. Follow us on our journey. read more

Could have been better. There are some guys there that are awesome. But, today, I had trouble and sought out the assistance of the manager. He was smug and didn't have the "how can I make this better for you" approach. I have spent thousands of dollars here, and I would have thought that for a loyal customer, the manager would have not had such a smug, nearly arrogant approach. We ordered a black stone here and had it pre-assembled at pick up. Des helped us out and went above and beyond normal customer service. She helped load it up in the truck, maneuvering it as many times as it needed to fit in the bed of the truck. She was so sweet and had such a great energy. 5 stars for her! read more

I ordered a carbon monoxide monitor and what they delivered was a huge paper bag that is ripping due to weight of cabinet handles I will never order from Lowe's again. Horrible. read more

I will never ever buy an appliance from Lowes again. They have made it so hard to deal with them. I have rentals in Nevada. (thats cuz they don't have insane landlord rules like Cal does). I used to be able to go into Lowes in Modesto, sit down with someone and order for either Reno or Vegas. Not anymore. I have to do it online. I have in my hand the email ad I got from Lowes saying if I bought now I'd get free delivery, haul away, install parts and basic install. Those things total about $450 on a dishwasher and stove. When I tried to order online I was not offered free anything. When I called customer service Sunday 4/26 they said "no such thing". So it was added to my bill. I made the order by phone . They wanted to deliver the next day. Without being able to speak to my tenant I couldn't do that so I put the delivery 2 weeks out. Without my knowledge or consent they sent me an email saying they would deliver on April 30. If I want to cancel its a TWENTY dollar cancellation charge even though they haven't done one damn thing yet. For a total of almost $500 its almost worth it to take a $33 flight to Vegas on Allegiant, rent a car, go to some independent appliance places, and come back home that night. read more

I was meant to receive a Whirlpool refrigerator today, the other three arrived either frontally damaged, motor damaged. The motor on the previous Samsung was damaged. The Hinsensa, which had been leaking in the back since it came, was to be exchanged today. I asked the two delivery men to utilize a Dolly floor in my house today. The Dolly floor was employed instead of the Dolly shoulder the last two times. Despite the other delivery man's agreement, the delivery man today refused to utilize the Dolly floor. He made a call to someone at their storage facility. Without doing the delivery, they left. After the attempt, I headed to Lowes today and talked with Brian, that did not seems helpful he said he will email the 3rd party transportation. I haven't been to Lowe's in many years we went to look at their garden department. I found a few plants. They all looked very healthy. They have a lot to choose from. We even bought some in the clearance section. This was a few weeks ago. The "rescue" clearance plants are looking great in the pots I replanted them in..I still have a few more to replant. We bought a dryer and they talked us into an account to get a discount they told us 18 months no fees or interest so we paid it off one day late from the due date and charged us 30.00 late fee and 19.00 interest and I told them it's a no interest for 18 months and the lady from synchrony said no it's not and insisted we pay rather than have this over my head we payed it and will never return to Lowe's read more

HORRIBLE LOWES "CASHIER". I am beyond myself. I have no words for the non-Cahsier at the Self Checkout...because there is no other option. Not only do they NOT have Cahsier managed Checkout options, when YOU are to check out, you have a smaller/shorter woman with white hair hovering over you making sure you scanned all your stuff. Ok.....one time, I get it. Random checks...sure... Just YOU though, forget everyone else that comes by?? Fishy...and not from Streets. Discrimination much? I GET not wanting thievery. But UMMM, yes I scanned my items, Person. I am on camera. I am paying for items. My card isn't "bouncing" and neither am I. I am disabled. Seriously? I'm dressed nicely, don't smell like a sewer and say HELLO TO YOU politely. How about I treat you like garbage and ignore you? Maybe that would be better? Oh, but heavens forbid that the SCANNER doesn't log the stuff, and pegs YOU to be a thief! THEN, by the end of the transactions, it actually registered it and you are paying for about 5 items too MANY because the system is outdated. (Known problem here apparently, BTW. No apologies offered either.) Let's not forget when items are on SALE, my favorite part here, and they do not come up as the LOGGED price in store you see, YOU have the audacity to tell ME to go and find where it is and provide YOU a photo. Walked all the way up to checkout from doors to order a security door I couldn't see available. 15 minutes after somebody called for assistance in millworks, still standing here. I e always had a great experience at this location. One year I purchased a holiday clearance item. The next year when I went out up the decoration I discovered it was incomplete, so I decided to try my luck and return it. I was able to get store credit for the full amount I spent. Morning of 8/17/25- Called the garden/outdoor section service. The gentleman (not sure who had handled customer service on the phone) was extremely rude and racist. We called regarding some trouble we had with our Ego Lawn Mower that we had purchased a few months ago. Simply wanted to know what the exchange policy was or if we were able to have someone take a look at it. He starts yelling "WE DO NOT HAVE ECO WE DONT CARRY ECO - WE HAVE EGO". He DEFINITELY KNEW what brand we were implying, yet his demeanor was extremely racist, rude and condescending- what's crazy is that the man had an accent himself. I bought a range from Lowe's and was told that I had 90 days to return it. Come to find out that the house had 110 wiring so it doesn't work. The stove had 220. So I try to return it and they refused. They said that I only had 48 hours. They don't stand by what they said! It has a horrid experience the delivery with Lows. TWICE they came at a different day that I didnt chose, and time. The blocked my garage without allow me to leave my own home. Delivery company claim they will call you the eve before delivery and that DID NOT happen. tehse delivieries are the worst, no name on the business no address no supervisor nopt a way that after you spent so much money things get broken, left bl;ocking areas, come not on the time requested JUST BAD. This review is for the guy who rekeys door locks etc. I talked to an employee and he said ya I talked to the rekeying guy (employee who does the rekeying) and he said he'll get to it whenever he can cause he's busy. He didn't give me an estimate or anything. The other employee told me to put my key to my purchased door handle with my phone number and and name and the rekeying employee will once it's done. I waited for about 45 min and then left. I had no interaction with the rekey guy only with another Lowes employee that said sorry there's nothing I can do. I did not feel safe leaving my already purchased door handle with my home key, name and phone number just sitting there by the rekeying spot. Anyone could have walked by and stole it. Lowes do not offer a rekeying service if you're gonna only have one employee that can do the job. Basically thus rekeying guy was out due to injury a while back for like a couple months. So I went to Lowe's in Rancho which had multiple people that could rekey. Yes I waited 30 min to have it rekeyed which is not a big deal but at least they had someone that could do it. When stocked (caveat, the Pandemic impacted EVERYTHING including supply chains) Lowe's on Washington in West Sacramento is my "go to" for more decorative home improvement goods and products. It just happens to be the closest outlet to Land Park. I like the selection and ease of parking and access...especially now that Highway 50 is under construction in SacTown resulting in traffic issues if one heads "East" of downtown. I typically avoid the "masses" by taking the 5th Street off-ramp before the big "merge" of traffic from I-5 to the Hwy 50/99 intersection. read more

Lowe's Home Improvement - Key aisle - Hardware Stores Near Me - West Sacramento, California

I really like Lowe's. It's not the typical oversized home improvement store. It's smaller, or feels like it's not as overwhelming. The West Sacramento store is missing something. Customer service being part of that. I've been to this location several times, and each time the experience is identical to the previous one. I find that their lack of customer service, and employees on the floor willing and wanting to help the customer is fairly limited. I did have one positive experience in the paint department on my last visit, where I was actually greeted by someone that worked in the area and asked if I had any questions. Unfortunately, she wasn't well trained and was fairly new. I felt bad for her because she was the only person in the area or on the floor that General area and being a new employee should've had some sort of back up. She truly did her best to help me, but it's not her fault that the store wasn't providing additional supervision for her and guidance. I find this location to often times have limited items on the floor, and always in need of restocking. This was the same experience in the paint department. I was there for a very specific color and was told that they only had 2 gallons instead of the 5 gallons that I needed. They asked if it was possible to order it, but again, dealing with a new employee she had no idea what to do, who to ask, or how she could help me. I ended up leaving without a purchase which is a loss to the store, and a loss to me as well because I'm still in need of my paint. The layout of the store is pretty typical of all of their locations, but again they really need to have a salesforce/better customer service on the Florida help employees. After I moved from the paint department over to the lighting department, I had to go in search of somebody that worked in that department as well. Employees should be cross trained, or at least have some knowledge of other areas when they have such limited staff on the floor. I waited for what seemed like forever to finally have somebody come and assist me. The staff person wasn't of much help, and didn't make it easy to spend money. I had asked basic questions such as being able to change certain fixtures, asked if they came in different finishes etc. and again was met with little to no help. What is the point of having even a limited staff on the floor when they are unable to help?! I think if you're looking for basic items, don't require any assistance, and really want a quick and fast purchase, then this absolutely is your store. If you're looking to up your home decor, make some changes either to the interior or exterior of your home, if it's help that you need, this isn't the place for you. Returning items to this location is also a nightmare. Apparently they don't always keep things in their system so if you pay by cash and do not have a receipt you can almost forget being able to return anything. Make sure you keep your receipt for each and every purchase if there's a remote possibility of you wanting to return it. Thankfully, this experience is only indigenous to this specific store. I've shopped at many of their other locations and I've always had a much more favorable experience there. Hopefully, management will do something to make some changes to this location. read more

So far, I have had a great experience with this Lowe's. I just moved to West Sacramento and have had to go to this store almost daily. There are always employees around ready and willing to help. I had keys copied here, paint mixed, questions answered about textured walls, got pool supplies, rented a carpet cleaner, and applied for a credit card. Every employee was knowledgeable and helpful. If they didn't know the answer, they quickly found it. The facility is clean and things are easy to locate. I have Lowe's four stars instead of five because there were certain common things I was looking for that I was surprised they didn't have. For example, an outdoor trash can. I will continue going to this Lowe's and would recommend it to people in the area. Pro tip: The Lowe's credit card is 5% off every time you shop! read more

My family visited the Lowes in West Sacramento store last night to get a Christmas tree. We were greeted in the garden area by Pedro who was extremely kind and courteous. He showed us around and pointed out different options, and then gave us time to look through the inventory and pick our favorite. He was quick to offer help, and wrapped the tree very carefully. He even offered to assist us with loading the tree onto our vehicle. We were all very impressed with Pedro's great attitude and helpful nature. He truly made our evening more enjoyable by being so friendly. read more

We were looking for some new mirrors and lights for our bathroom and stopped in to see what they had. As we were walking around many of the staff asked if we needed help and answered our questions. We did find the perfect mirrors and lighting by the way. Checkout was fast and no lines. read more

Do not buy appliances if you need your appliance within two weeks. We had bought our fridge and had it installed from Lowe's 3 days later. Thought the same would happen with microwave , site said installation 5 days later which we went with because of how well the fridge install went. . However it has been almost two weeks. Item has been sitting in the store for 5 days and still no one has called to schedule installation. Trying to call now and have been getting run around for twenty minutes. Never again. read more

Property owner purchased dishwasher and installation from Lowe's. Purchase was cancelled last June and funds returned for dishwasher only -- not the installation charge of $211. After several phone calls , as the property manager I went to their location on Greenback to claim refund but was refused and would give refund only to the tenant if we came together in person. Bought a washer dryer set online and paid for all the parts and installation service. The check out online wasn't working, so I contacted Lowe's and they filled my order for me online. The washer and dryer came today and although I had to make an extra trip for a part they called me about that I wasn't told buy, they said I was missing an essential stacking kit which was not mentioned by the website or the person who filled out the order for me. They also had sold me an extra plug that I did not need and I returned that. So the guys doing the install put the washer in the house and leave the dryer out back and tell us to go get the part. We go to Lowe's and of course they don't have it. although they said that they did. We proceed to spend an hour at Lowe's trying to find where we can get the stacking kit. While there I noticed that they overcharged just $400 or 20% of the order. $400. They overcharged us $400. The appliance guy at Lowe's calls around and tells us that the Lowe's in Elk Grove has the part. 45 minutes later we're in Elk Grove listening to them explain that they don't have the part and that it's not available. Nice of a store to sell things that they don't have the parts for. Even nicer for them to send us on a 30 mile road trip for absolutely nothing. They even suggested that we might go to a Lowe's in Lodi. So what did I do? I called Home Depot in West Sac and they had the part I needed for *half* the price that Lowe's wanted me to pay for it if they even had it. We drove all the way back to Home Depot near the Lowe's we started out and we're out of there in five minutes with the thing we need for a great price, and their store was in a much much better shape. I'm not happy, I would like to support Lowe's but they really don't have their act together. read more

DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FOR CURBSIDE PICKUP! They simply do not have the staff to run it. After checking-in via the phone app and waiting 20 minutes (and trying to call three times), I flagged down an employee who said they were operating with about half the needed staff and recommended going inside. We recently purchased a home in Arden and drive all the way to this location because the customer service is simply outstanding and all the employees are so friendly and helpful. We have made multiple trips and have received fantastic service every single time. If I could give this store -10 Stars, I would! This is the worse store ever. The ONLY reason I put up with this store is because it's the closest one to me. Customer Service and Phone service is a JOKE! When I call the department to need ask questions about a service or product, the phone continues to ring - no answer, or someone will pick up after 30-40 rings - then either put me on hold again, or hang up, or transfer me to a diff department... WTH? And don't get me started about that crazy Virtual Assistant. That darn thing is worse than speaking to a LIVE PERSON... When I call Customer Service, the phone rings off the wall, and when some moron answers the phone, I can hear talking and they hang up again. How does a person get good customer service anymore? If they can't help people, the next best thing is have a service to answer calls, redirect people to the correct department, or at least ask people to please hold.
