Hopefully this is the Poor Boys that was contracted out through Lowe's. I hate to leave a bad review for the wrong company. Here goes....I purchased an exterior back door, accent window above the door and storm door from Lowe's. Poor Boys came out for the job. First issue the door leaked inside my home. They came out said there was no corking. Second issue, the storm door screen defected. They replaced the storm door. Now the storm door leaked. They came out again, said installer didn't cork around the door. Third issue which prompted me to leave this review, the exterior door sticks and I have to really push on it to open. Poor Boys came out yet again, made adjustments but ultimately said the reason for the sticking is the type of door I selected and the way the sun beams makes the door swell. Ok....so I guess I just have to live with it. But wait, there's more. My neighbor also had an exterior door installed and I noticed that the hinges were carved out on her door. Mine were not. SMH. By the time I realized this my warranty was expired. I still reached out to Lowe's who agreed to have the installer come back. The installer stood me up again. Oh, I forgot to mention through out this whole process Poor Boys stood me up 3 times. 3 times I took off from work. So this last time they were supposed to come out, they gave me 2 time frames. So, naturally I waited until 2:30. Lowes called back and said they came at 3:00. But also said that cutting the hinges on the door is not part of the installation!!!! OMG!!!!! I bought a Kobalt 24v chainsaw for a gift and the person I bought it for wasn't able to use it. So I went to return it and they wouldn't take it back. It was brand new in the box never opened with the straps on it. I bought it on August 12 and brought it back on the 17th. They quoted a policy that items like this have to be returned in 48hrs. What are they crazy!!! I wasn't informed at the time of purchase nor was it stated on the receipt. This is the worst experience I've ever had at this store. Purchased a door from Lowe's and had it installed by Lowe's. First they sent me a door that was damaged and when a new one arrived it was poorly installed. I even had to tell the installer to replace a part of my door frame he took off. Their salesman advised ms Lowe's takes care of any problems should they arise. Well the next day when the sun came up all I could see was light coming in around my door. Called Lowe's and they said it was a warranty issue and referred me to a company in North Carolina. In short they didn't stand behind their installation ans were very little help once I was transferred to the warranty company. Good, but needs improvement. The few times I've gone into this location the customer service has been hit and miss. When it's good, it's great. When it's poor, it's atrocious. If you order online, expect to wait a few days before picking your item up - even if it's at the front of the store with your name on it and it "hasn't gone through the process system". Lowes delivery service is terrible. I asked if I could have a morning delivery and was told they could not promise that but they would put a note on it requesting it. The night before my delivery i get a text stating they would deliver my refrigerator between 230pm and 630pm. I sent a message back to them say I was not happy with the delivery time. They responded back then saying ok your new time will be 4pm to 8pm after I had told them morning delivery. I am through with Lowe's. I cancel my order and will not shop there anymore. I have had one call back. Yesterday August 2 I went to the store and was told my refrigerator would be delivered today. Don't buy doors from Lowe's. Wanted a side door to my garage - they actually had it in stock (yay!) and arranged for Poor Boy Construction to install it. Poor Boy arranged to install it on a Tuesday from 9-11. I stayed home from work to be there. They never showed, never called, never responded to text and the phone was busy. I angrily went to Lowe's. They apologized and after 3-4 hours managed to get in touch with Poor Boy. Poor Boy called me to reschedule for Saturday 9-12. They never showed, never called, never responded to text and the phone was busy. Lowe's told me that this is the only company they use to install doors. So I cancelled the whole contract, after wasting six hours waiting for someone who never showed. The Lowe's people don't like Poor Boy either, but that's an upper management decision. The flooring department was good, dealing with Josh and Chase had been a good start. The problem came with the installation and their "preferred installation team" of Service Pros: $746.49 is what Lowe's charged in installation charges to install approximately 90sqft of LVT in two upstairs bathrooms. That is $746.49 in installation costs only, the material was another $800. That $746.49 probably was cut to the lowest bidder of Service Pros, and profits were divided up between the two before sending out the youngest lowest paid, minimum wage worker that they had for the 6 hours of work (or it could have been even further contracted out from SP, I don't know). I am the end user, the customer, the person that has to live with the crap craftsmanship that was provided. At about $125.00 per hour, I would expect some good quality work, but it was not there. There are so many issues/problems with this install, from crap cutting, to waste, to poor installation practices... this guy must have not even had a tape measure. The worst visual is the guest bath where a 24" tile should be offset at the halfway point of the previous row of tiles; however, they come to 9" on one side, and 14.5" on the other. Visually it looks worse than terrible. When calling this company because the worker did not understand what he was doing (including not knowing the difference between LVP and LVT), and left me with a less-than-desirable feeling I received a "he's one of our best workers". Really?? Calling back again some time later after being told that there was not enough material, and seeing all the waste of poor cuts, etc. just to ask for a supervisor/manager to come check the quality of work and amount of waste that meant material was not going to last, at the halfway point was met with more and more excuses, and a "we don't have anybody in the area for quality control". So I guess you get what you get at the end of the day, which by the way includes cleaning up most of the mess left, I had to cleanup myself, as the worker was so busy skipping out when the work was done. The quality is so poor and subpar, they should be ashamed of themselves for not rectifying this crap. Unfortunately, I am supposed to have the same company install carpet next month... I'll have to see if Lowe's can find a replacement company. I am totally dissatisfied with the quality of work that this company left me and my family having to go into every day. Beware: Horrible, Horrible, place to shop. I brought a gas stove and asked the representative that sold it to, how much is it going to cost for installation, and she specifically said THE installation price IS INCLUDED WITH THE PRICE and all you have to pay for is the price for them to take your old stove away. Well, for one, the stove was a week late. Then when the stove got delivered the delivery person said they Do Not do the installation and it will be a separate price. He also told me that Lowes do this to customers all the time and he have to deal with angry customers because of it. So, I call the store and talked to the assistant manager (Michelle) and she told me that the installation price of the stove will be over $500 dollars. I asked her can they help cover the cost because they should honor what the representative told me which was the price of the installation would be included in the price. So, the assistant manager told me that they could not help me. So, I told them to please come to pick the stove up. So, beware because the delivery person did tell me that this happens all the time....it may be a way to get customers to buy their stove, What a waste of time. I could have just gone to Home Depot. And, behold they had 12 in stock. Customer service was great. Michael working the self checkout was patient, friendly and professional. He was determined to get my sale taken care of and the front check-out supervisor Debra jumped right in and worked diligently to help me complete my transaction. I bought two cans of paint for painting my patio and I chose a brick red color from the catalog. Mr Charles Tomaski was in charge of color grading. The color grading was finished according to the computer program settings, but there is still a big difference to the color card which I chose. I asked Mr Tomaski to make corrections, but there were still subtle differences in each adjustment. After 7-8 times, it finally reached a level closer to the color card. I know that because of my profession, I am very strict and picky about the color. Mr Tomaski has done it over and over again, very patiently for me, Thank you. Mr Tomaski. I will not be shopping at any Lowe's locations anymore. We special ordered a gas oven to be installed, and one old oven hauled away, but before we could order the oven, the space had to be measured. The contractor that was hired by Lowe's was 4 hours late (7:45 pm), not a good start. Once the oven arrived, it was again contracted out to be installed (same company), and they again showed up outside their window. During the installation process, they noticed a screw was missing and the door handle couldn't be installed, but still installed the oven and left us to resolve it. The next day, I called Lowe's and explained the situation and advised us to either file a warranty with manufacturer and if we decided to go this route, Lowe's would give us another 10% off our purchase price so we decided to file a warranty with the manufacturer, we fixed the handle and notified Lowe's that the problem was resolved and we were told over the phone that we should be seeing discount credited to our account but it's now over a month later and we still haven't received our discount. read more

Staffed by temps that know nothing about gardening and spend most of their time hiding from customers, even a simple question about tomato hornworms was met with a shrug and me sent to a customer service desk with 10 people in line. They picked it on on 10/31/22 and were suppose to be refunding my credit card. The lady at the paint counter was awful to my parents. She accused us of using our paint wrong and told us we made to many mistakes and we couldn't return it. We went home and painted one small swatch and stain did not match the color we asked for and we came back to return it. This lady was a thin lady about 50-60ish with a long dark colored ponytail. We will go to Home Depot across the street for our paint needs. She did not uphold the return policy and paint loving guarantee on your website. read more

I came in here last week to purchase a water filter for my refrigerator and found the general area that they would be located. I had no clue which one I needed but I had a picture of the model number that was inside the fridge. I asked an associate in that department if he could assist me and he did with no hesistation at all. He walked me over to his computer and I read to him the model number. I have had two frustrating and non-customer friendly experiences at this store in less than three months. First it took me over 12 visits multiple calls to management and interactions with multiple associates to complete an order for doors that exceeded $6000. After finally getting resolution and getting the order placed, I assumed perhaps it was simply incompetence in that particular department. However, I just had another ridiculous experience. I purchased $100 yard decoration tree that was Lowes manufactured late in November. After putting it up in the yard, the lights stopped working on half of the tree after less than a week. In the middle of the Christmas season it was very busy, so I placed the item in my garage until I had time to return it. Today I brought the item back with the receipt and was told that I could not return anything that was a Christmas item after December 26. After speaking with the store manager, and then Lowe's corporate I was told that there would be no ability to resolve this for me because it was a policy. No store credit, no concession whatsoever. It took two months for them to be delivered and when we began installation, found that three of fourteen were scratched and gouged right out of the box and another was just a plain piece of wood with no design. Called "customer service" and waited three hours for a return call. That call was completely useless and I was told I would get another callback in 24 hours. That callback never came, so I called again. This time I was on the phone for over an hour, and at the end of that time, was told the store manager would call, since even "customer service" could not get hold of the store. We ordered a refrigerator, stove, microwave,dishwasher,washer and dryer. All items were delivered at various times and only 2 items ever got installed due to the limited skill set and or training of the various installers. Not all installers were professional or even helpful. I knew better and should have bought our appliances through Ferguson but thought I'd give Lowes another try after years of buying elsewhere. I only have myself to blame. I'll be cutting up my Lowes card and purchasing through either Home Depot or Ferguson from this day forward. I ordered a dishwasher and was told it was going to be delivered on certain date And I would be given a call the day before. When I did not get call I called them and was told the person who sold it to me forgot to change date. So I agreed that it could be delivered the following Thursday. i did get a phone call the day before stating they will be thirty between 8 and12. I had to pay someone to sit at my house because of a previous appt. Around 1130 I got a phone call stating they would be here from 12 and 4. So I come home and at 330 I get a phone call stating they will be here from 4 to 8. Now I am upset and tell them not to deliver. They told me I had to call store and get another appt. I tried several time to call and could not get through. So I decide to go to store and find out what is going on.the people at service desk were no help. I asked for a refund and was told no because they did not have dishwasher back.I told them you gave it to delivery person and it was not delivered and I want my money back. So I got very upset and asked for store manger to call me. The manger that finally came said he needed to look a at my invoice to get my number.I said if he had an invoice I should be able to get my money back. I finally left the store for the manger to call me back. I also had another appt. that evening. The manger at desk called me about 730 and said if I could be home it could get delivered. Thankful my son was home and was able to accept delivery. I think the manager still should have called me but never did. I will be spending my money else where. I have had 2 jobs requested from this store. My fence over the summer. Somehow my information was changed or in correctly, it took longer than quoted for installation. The contractors did an excellent professional job. Now I tried again to get a Exterior Door install. They said 2\3 weeks for installation. So because of prior issues with my correct information. I called a few days later just to make sure everything was accurate. Again they can't find my order & keep putting my projects under someone else's name. Spoke with a manager, he sounded unconcerned about my complaint. With all the outrageous additional fees, my order should've been accurate & should have an Install date!!! The worst customer service of any Lowe's I have ever visited! I recently visited the garden area, pulled around 3 flats of mulch, soil and plants, where I spent over $500--all while employees walked the other direction, never asking me if I needed help, seeing me pulling and rotating multiple carts to get to the checkout lane. The cashier never smiled, acknowledged me standing there while ringing my 3 carts of items or even bagged my small items on top of the mulch. I politely asked for help loading the items in my vehicle and she did not respond but picked up the phone to call for help. I said thank you and have a good day---me, not her---and, she said "yep"! Well, I have to say this is the most unfriendly Lowes store Ive ever been too. Everyone in there did not seem happy with their job. We went to purchase a lawn mower - a $2000 model - we looked at the lawn mowers outside and they were dirty and faded and basically weathered. We liked on of those but went inside to see if any more there and there was one we liked and wanted inside the store. We asked the sales associate if we could purchase that one and he flat out said NO. No explanation, just no. SO we said so you're telling me we cant buy this one inside the store. He said no. Then he said the floor models may not have all the parts put together on the or they may be missing.. So we said we would talk to a manager. Sean was the manager on duty Sept 15th. After waiting in line for a very long time (seems they were understaffed), we asked Sean if we could buy that lawn mower and again he said a flat out NO. No explanation again or any other solutions or possibilities just NO. So, we said thank you and left. Very rude, unhelpful and no customer service. Even when we spoke with the guy outside with the lawn mowers he was definitely not into his job or service or helpful. I will not shop at this Lowes again. Unfortunately it just does not seem to be a store that has employees who really care. Now we left and went to Newport News Lowes and got the complete opposite. Customer Service like you wouldn't believe! And its consistent at Newport News. We have purchased many large items as well as small items and have had our kitchen and bathroom redone by Lowes and the customer service is excellent. If you are replacing curtains on your rear glass door or front door I recommend magnetic blinds. We read about them and found them at Lowe's. They were far easier to mount than regular blinds (no tpold required) and the wife and we are very pleased. I am not a fan of hanging blinds, but we're no problem.
