Disappointing experience looking for an outdoor trash bin. We found the area of the warehouse where they were supposed to be, it was even labeled as such, but the area was filled with dollies instead. After going to the outdoor area and asking for help we were shown to a sad little area with a handful to choose from. The one that we liked, there were two available, and they were both crusted in grime. Another employee later told us that they are stored outside until they are brought into the warehouse. The one that was slightly less dirty had a warped lid. Even though it was a pain to leave empty handed and go to another store, we decided it probably couldn't get much worse and would be worth it to check elsewhere (and we were glad we did). read more

This store is hit and miss with their customer service, mostly miss. I went in once because I needed a kit to completely rebuild my toilet, not just replace the flapper. There were none on the shelf, but I could see a box of them up above the shelf. I asked a worker for help getting one, and he acted like I shouldn't be able to read the box and see the item number to know that was the product I was looking for. He begrudgingly got one down for me. I had bought my washer and dryer there. The belt on my dryer broke, so I went in to get a new one. I brought the broken one with me. I looked on the aisle and could only find one that looked too short. I asked the guy working appliances for help, in case I just missed the belt I needed. He hands me the same belt I had been looking at and tells me it is the right one for my model of dryer. I asked if we could take it out of the cardboard band to check that it was the right length, he said yes. We laid my broken one next to the new one, and it was clear that the new one was several inches shorter. I told the guy I didn't think it was the right one, but he assured me that this was the belt that every model from that brand used, and that my old belt probably just stretched out. I was skeptical, but bought it anyway and took it home to install on my dryer. Try as I might, I could not get that belt on, because it was way too short to loop around the drum and the motor. I returned it, and ended up buying the correct belt from a local small appliance repair shop. Another time, I was looking for the stuff to put shelves up in my house. The guy I asked for help told me that he could cut the track for the shelving to fit the short space I needed. Another worker came up and asked him what he was doing. He told them he was cutting the track, and the other worker told him he couldn't do that. I asked what other products they had to be able to put shelves up, and they tried to sell me their custom built storage system. I said no thanks and walked away. I wandered the store for a bit and finally found the aisle that had the utility brackets. I grabbed a stack of them and headed to lumber to get some boards for the shelves. Why did neither of those guys point me to those brackets? Last year I went in to get some grass seed. They had two aisles next to each other closed off in the garden center, including the one with the grass seed. I stood around waiting for them to finish what they were doing. One of the workers noticed me and asked what I was looking for. I told him grass seed. They worked for a bit more then moved the barrier to open the one aisle, but left the grass seed aisle closed, then they left. I looked down the aisle to see if maybe something was unstable on a shelf or something, necessitating them keeping the aisle closed. I did not see any dangers, and there was not even a piece of equipment on that aisle. I got fed up with waiting, so I crouched down and made my way from the next aisle over to the back side of the grass seed and grabbed a bag from the back of the shelf. read more

This location is always busy. Big box retail hardware store, that competes with the HD just across the street. I trade here often as it offers the same selection as the competition and often at a better price. They also have a military veterans program that offers additional discounts and savings for those who served. As well, there are Veteran only parking spaces at the entrance. Which usually has a space or two open even on busy days. What separates this chain from the other is the staff. Unlike the competitor, you can actually find help here. I quit the other guys years ago for lack of any real service, as they are notorious for not bring able to find help anywhere. This location has lots of folks walking around and willing to help when need be. I have always been able to get assistance when needed, always been spoken to and greeted upon entry. At service counters, even when busy, the staff have all been helpful. It might get crowded and even a bit crazy and slow but always been treated with respect and found what I have needed each time. Even ordering online in advance, and picking up my items has been easy. Which really saves you time by not having to go through the store to get your items. Just go to the locker area up front and retrieve your paid for items. All in all, a better choice than the other chain guys across the street 3 Stars it serves its purpose 01214 read more

I went to Lowe's today to get potting soil In WS. They have replaced all cashiers with the self help registers ... and low and behold only one working in the garden shop. What is wrong with these stores any more? Enough employees simply standing around that they could be on registers. I am done with the stores that insist on putting in self help registers. I had a very disappointing experience when trying to return blinds at Lowe's on Saturday (3/14 around 12 PM). I needed to return two blinds that ended up being too small for the bedrooms in my new house. I wasn't aware of the return policy since I'm usually not the one who shops at Lowe's. When I went to the customer service desk, I was met by an older employee who was extremely rude and unprofessional. Instead of explaining the return policy or helping me understand the situation, she openly said she didn't trust me and implied that I was lying -- while speaking directly to me. Customers don't always know every store policy, and a big part of customer service is educating people respectfully. Unfortunately, that did not happen here. This employee clearly seemed unhappy in her role and her attitude made the experience uncomfortable and unnecessary. I've always had decent experiences at Lowe's, but this interaction was very disappointing and not how customers should be treated. read more

I am extremely disappointed with the way I was treated during my visit to Lowe's tonight. I arrived just a few minutes before closing because I urgently needed three items after an already very difficult evening. I was clearly trying to be quick and respectful of the time. An associate approached me when I walked in and asked what I was looking for. I showed him a photo, and instead of actually helping, he abruptly told me the aisle number and walked away. He did not offer to guide me or make sure I found what I needed. Because of that lack of assistance, I struggled to locate the first two items, which wasted valuable time. I quickly picked up the final item and headed to the front at 8:03. There were about five employees standing there who openly displayed frustration and were throwing their hands up and staring at me and making me feel humiliated. If I had received basic customer service at the beginning, I would have been out before 8:00. Instead, I was made to feel like an inconvenience for simply trying to make a purchase. I left the store in tears because of how I was treated. I fully understand the frustration of someone not being out before closing but it does not excuse dismissive or unprofessional behavior. read more

Went to Lowes on Hanes Mall Blvd 11/14 to buy washer/dryer set, only one person working Appliance area. I was looking and waiting to talk to employee, some man walked up and he greeted him, not me!! I waited and waited still looking. I was there for over 20 minutes!! He came over finally and said someone would be with me in a few minutes....REALLY?!?! I went to the front and counted 8 employees standing around chatting! I asked a lady to speak with a mgr, she went and I saw her chatting with another employee! One of my favorite Lowes to go to and it's not just because of the proximity to home. The staff is always super kind, attentive and ready to help. Usually I can't make it a few feet in the door without someone asking if they can help us. I didn't think Lowes Home Improvement & LG could sink any lower, but when you go & target our most vulnerable Senior Citizens then they've went to a hole new level right there.. This is what happened... 1-17-24, My 90 Yr. Old Mother bought a LG Washer Top Loader, from Lowes Home Improvement here in W/S off Hanes Mall Blvd. She said she always had problems w/it, it wouldn't finish out the cycle, so she would just always just restart it, why, I dnt know, easier for her I guess she's 90 & set in her ways.. So I called my mom told her I was coming into town and I would call & get them on the phone for her & see if I could get a repair man to come to her house.....Wait it gets better from here... So called LG CUSTOMER SERVICE, SET APPT. Bought package it included ALL REPAIRS, PARTS, & THE REPAIR MAN COMING TO YOUR HOME. ALL FOR $ 401.00 Tax included... . WAIT.. IT GETS BETTER So Customer Service orders so called PARTS, go to a fake address @ 5-points on Stratford Rd, The repair man said that was the banks address, but I know how to use MAPS ON MY CELL ( HERE'S THE ADDRESS) 30 South Stratford Rd Winston Salem NC, 27104, You tell me? I say that address goes NO WHERE, IT'S FAKE..& that's not her address either, repair man had to call her & get her real address...( THE PARTS WEREN'T COMING) THEY LIED JUST TO SELL A EXTENDED WARRANTY... SO Repair man comes, mom says how are you going to fix the washer w/o the parts, the repair man says I don't need them, he then takes out his cell phone, does a few things on it, walks over to the washer, pulls up the drain hose ( I've already pulled it up the day before myself ) He puts it in test mode @ some point Then he reaches behind the washer and says you've got the hot water off.. Mama said NO, if the hot water was off then how could I of washed clothes the day before when my daughter was here, plus I cannot get down there to turn that off Mr. I'm 90 yrs. Old I can't do that anymore. I dnt no if it was on or off really because I wasn't there, I didn't check to see if the water was cold or hot.. ..... He said that's how it is any more.. what a crying shame.. The Repairman done his job, he got her washer up & running, cost her $401.00 to do it though,..This post is not about her repair man, it's about LG & Lowes Home Improvement... I'm not really sure if LG would even honor the 90 day warranty she had to buy if it breaks down again & it will break again I promise you it will break again soon it's rigged in my opinion I believe, only time will tell.. stay tuned for my next post on this because I will post another one if it does.. worst Lowe's in NC came in there 3 times between two days and the employee customer service was trash all the employees I asked for help didn't even know where half the stuff in the store is nor cared to help me find what I was looking for , managers trash as well , they couldn't even come out to help nor did they seem like they cared to help. The workers that I asked for help all acted as if they were too busy to help . I had to stand there and wait 40 min just for no one to come and help , I had to go across the store to get another employee to help me. I was asked if I needed assistance in what was in my opinion the perfect amount of time (not to fast giving me time to look around but fast enough to keep me from looking for help) by a very nice lady. Although they did not have what I was looking for she did look for any products of similar price point and also what stores nearby had the specific one I was looking for. Wish i had never went through lowes for my fence installation. I should've did Home Depot. I see why now. Overall, horrible experience. They sent us bad fencing company- with poor installers. We have a warranty, we called recently to have installers to come back out to fix our gate lock which was never put on correctly initially- and they are not wanting to help us. They want us to pay for a new lock and the labor if they send installers back out although in our contract it should be covered under warranty. It's all a scam in my opinion. 2020 Nov 1, 14:20; First let me the difference in customer service between Lowe's and Home Depot is startling! While Lowe's is badly under staffed, the help and professionalism I just received made my decision for me. In what I am wanting, Lowe's is slightly higher. However, I have to take into consideration the level of service that I may need for these products going forward and am I more comfortable with Lowe's being there to help or Home Depot? With the service level I have seen in last 2 visits to each business, Lowe's is a better option for me in regard to customer service. If you are buying something simple and cheap, either are probably just as good. So gauge your needs in regard to have the ability to ask someone questions and get solutions. read more

I returned $150 worth of merchandise in Winston-Salem, NC and received a merchandise credit on a gift card. Today, my husband tried to redeem it and was told we had to show our driver's license. But neither of our driver's licenses match the one attached to the merchandise credit, so they refused to let us use the credit. We asked if it is possible that someone just entered the number incorrectly and they said "oh yeah, happens all the time". So they basically stole merchandise I received as a gift and gave me a gift card that they messed up and made impossible to use. read more

I contacted Tracy, the Lowes manager at the Stanleyville, NC store where I purchased the refrigerator within 24 hours of delivery and she refused to help me. My parents purchased a lawn mower from the Lowe's Home Improvement in Winston-Salem over a year ago. To take advantage of a promotional discount, they opened a Lowe's store credit card, which my father paid off in full nine days later. Because of a clerical or procedural error on their side, Lowe's failed to transmit the payment to the bank which handles their store cards (Synchrony Financial). The bank then proceeded to send past due notices to an incorrect address for the better part of a year (again, their error, not my parents'), at which point they got a debt collection agency (ERC) involved. The debt collection agency has now tracked down my mother and is regularly harassing her, telling her she needs to pay the full amount plus interest. They're also filing past due claims against my parents' credit, damaging their credit scores. My father is now in poor health and is sadly no longer able to advocate for himself, and this is causing my mother, who is caring for him, untold distress. We've attempted to contact Lowe's and Synchrony to have this resolved many times. We've provided them with bank statements and other documentation proving that the card was paid in full, but thus far they've been completely unresponsive. We even had a lawyer contact them, to no avail! Don't recommend doing business with this or any Lowe's unless you're prepared to be defrauded and wrongfully hounded by debt collectors. read more

I'm posting because really I just want this Lowe's to get better. It's the closest one to my house and I want to love it but about 50% of the time I go to the garden center there's just a dead bird or mouse sitting in the middle of an aisle. I get that this happens, bird and mice live in garden centers but it takes DAYS for anyone to get around to cleaning them up and it's super gross. It's made me avoid going to this Lowe's and I really really just want them to pick up animals when they die so I can go to the store without being grossed out every time I've started avoiding this store honestly. Lowes contracted out Privacy Fencing for my fence. They had to come out 9 times to try fix all of their knowingly negligent mistakes. 7inch gaps, 5inch gaps, warped gate that was never fixed. They knowingly used split and warped wood of 2 different colors. No nails in several boards. Concrete all over my yard. Section of the fence wobbled back and forth. Privacy fencing tried to cover mistakes(gaps) by a horizontal board at the bottom. Lied to Lowes and said they reconstructed the warped gate. Still warped. PF said stick a pole in the ground to unwarp it. I have all the pictures. Lowes doesn't come out to check, lowes just takes your money. Two months of nightmare and a huge inconvenience. Asked for a 15% discount. Lowes said "No". They will act like they are supporting you, but they don't care about your time when they hire an inadequate fencing company. I will have to live with a two-tone color fence with a warped gate, gaps and all my lost time dealing with these poor businesses. read more

So my experience started with not being greeted at customer service and I had to wait until they rang an employee up for their purchase. After all of that and then waiting for them to clock out I told them I was there to pickup an order and i was told I was in the wrong place. So I had to go over to the side (there was signage hanging) but no where could you see a kiosk or a desk to walk up too. I get there and the employee is sitting on the steps of a ladder on her phone and she nonchalantly gets up and walks over doesn't greet me and doesn't say anything at all. I said I have an online order to pickup and she said (without looking up from her phone) name? So I gave it to her and then she said order number? I said oh ok hold on and she abruptly said with a monotone voice phone number? I gave it to her and she turned went and got my 4 lightbulbs and handed them to me mind you no bag, no receipt or nothing showing they had been paid for. I said oh ok isn't there a receipt she said as she's walking away your email is your receipt! And went back to sitting down and on her phone. I have never in my life been so frustrated with a sales associate. This girl was so lazy, non-friendly and had no business working with the public! Oh and there was no one in the store because of the storm except for Sales Associates's so she wasn't busy at all. Lowes needs to do better because this Customer Service makes me not want to do business with them at all. Customer Service is everything and to me you would want your best representing your company on your front line with your customers. This experience was horrible and as of now I do not recommend this service to anyone. read more

Ok, It seems there is one bad manager. You will know it if you get her. Ask for another manager and you will probably be ok. As far as Lowes repairing and selling new, the manager I spoke with says Lowes does not do that despite a service technician confirming this happens. Not sure who to believe now... Keeping at 1 star due to the very long time it took to resolve a return for a bad appliance I was sold. Good Luck with your next purchase. So going in there for a few purchases and at the checkout I'm asked about military because I'm wearing my veteran shirt. I told him yes and they say you get a 10% discount but I have to go on Lowe's website and sign in and show my DD 214 and after approved I can get a discount. Or..... I can go across the street to Home Depot where I just have to show my military ID and get the same discount. So I left and went to Home Depot. In the past i would have given the store a 4 star but last two days in a row i have been in your garden center to buy heavy bags of garden soil and manure. Both days i had to load them on the trolley myself. The first day i waited around for someone to load them in my car and finally someone showed up to help me. Today i got tired of waiting so loaded the bags myself. My back is already tightening up. I am a 69 year old woman and would have appreciated some help. Once again Lowe's at this location has no customer service. I bought a washer and dryer set and had it delivered. The delivery team showed up set up the washer. They could not set the dryer due to the warehouse did not have clamps for the dryer hose. The lead delivery person told me to expect a call to set up a time for delivery to come and install the hose. This was on Thursday April 20. So on Monday the 24 I went to the store and to customer service. Explain to customer service what was going on. My salesman came by and ordered a delivery to have the dryer connected. Drove away and 10 minutes later I got a call from delivery confirming Tuesday the 25 was a good day for someone to come out. Stating that I would get a call with an arrival time window. It's 9:30 pm and still no phone call. I am a 71 yr old disabled man and can not hook up the dryer myself. So beware Lowe's does not have customer service none whatsoever. Do not buy major appliances from this store because you can't get service from this store. It's beyond me why this store is so incompetent along with its delivery service. read more

This is a guilt by association review. I am disappointed in the flooring contractor that Lowe's uses. I paid the $35 for the estimate. The gentleman called me at almost 9pm TWICE. Who calls that late to set up appt's etc?!? He came out in a timely manner & told us he'd be in contact in the next couple of days with our estimate. It's been over a week, and I have called him multiple times leaving messages with no response. I called Lowe's & asked for a refund of my estimate cost to which they handled without a problem. Standard lowes good service and clean inside. No issues here. At least they have people available that ask you if you need help. Always had good service here. Had to cut pipes and they did it perfectly and told me what to do with my connections and the proper fittings. read more
