Beware of Fence Install. Sold me fence that was supposed to match my privacy fence, but what I received had huge gaps. Panels were nailed at too much pressure - so nails went completely thru boards. Paid $$$ to have property line surveyed because neighbor complained, but Lowes refused to come back to finish the job after I had the survey done - so I was left with half a fence. I went to this Lowes location one morning hoping to buy some things with gift cards. I spent a while picking out my items only to discover that the "system was down" and I couldn't use the cards to pay. This came out after about 10 minutes of waiting at the register. I only went to Lowes because I had gift cards and did not want to pay cash, so I asked if they could set my things aside with my name and number and call me once the "system" started working. The assistant store manager kindly agreed, but I did not receive a call that day. When I called back the next day, the people working in the front hadn't heard about the incident and they couldn't find the things that had been set aside for me. Incredibly frustrating experience! Update: I went back to pick out the items again (two days later) and made sure to ask if gift cards were currently being accepted. I was told they were so I filled up my cart -- I will say several of the items I picked out were no longer available (such as some on-sale oops paint). When I got to the checkout, both of my cards read at $0. I had only used one of them one time for about $5.00! I was taken over to the customer service desk and the woman there looked up to see if the cards had been used during the last five days at that location. She said they had no record of that. I was quite upset, understandably, especially when I felt she was implying I was being dishonest and trying to use cards I knew did not have a balance on them. I immediately called Lowes costumer service when I got home, and they let me know that the cards HAD been accidentally set to $0 on the day I tried to use them and the "system was down." The man I spoke with said the gift card people will be in touch with me in a couple of days (why can't they just send me a new card...?). I'll post an update when I hear back. This has honestly been the worst retail experience I have ever had. I will never shop at Lowes again after this is straightened out, especially not this location. Update 2: I got a call from the manager at Lowes apologizing for losing my items. He said I will get 20% off of my next purchase at the store. I also got an email from the gift card people confirming that I have one full gift card and one with about $20.00 on it. I thought about bringing this up to two stars since they did follow through, but honestly it's been so frustrating I'm keeping it at 1. 20% off and the money back (that I should have been able to spend weeks ago) don't make up for the annoyance of this experience. Update 3: I was able to use my giftcards and get 20% off of my purchase. Still a negative experience, but 1 star rather than the 0 I would have given it (if I could have). read more

As a local small business owner I'm always in the Lincoln St Plaza Lowe's in Worcester MA buying PVC pipe just about every week and spend a lot money there. The big box store is preferred because there's always other parts, materials and items not related to plumbing that are needed too. But now I'm so sick of the arguing from the plumbing dept. guy about having to get the pipe picked down off the top racks because they can't figure out someone can't buy the stuff if the lower shelf is always empty. This guy always complains just because it's more work for him. He has to know that shelf is always empty or he just completely sucks at his job! It's laziness! Why not ask to have that done overnight or during slow hours is beyond me. Complaining about it every time I come in on Sundays is ridiculous! I emptied that shelf last week and only bought half of the amount needed because I didn't need the aggravation of dealing with this guy again. Sure enough, that shelf was still empty again after 7 days so had to deal with him anyway. This is the last time as I'd rather spend more on the pipe somewhere else than have to deal with this every other week. Today he's all aggressive telling me about how long I'll have to wait. The guys in Hudson MA Lowe's are great and always glad to help. They will get to it quickly if there's not enough and best of all not complain about how much work it is do it. But unfortunately that's a bit far to go every week so I'll set up a deal with the plumbing supply place. Maybe I'll go back to shop there whenever that guy is history because everyone else there is great to work with. Until then, it's the plumbing supply place and Home Depot. read more

I went to buy a stove two days ago at Lowes. What a nightmare! When I purchased it I told the salesperson I would have it picked up the following day. About twenty minutes later I was told the man with the pickup was not available. So immediately called Lowes to request a delivery, I was transferred to the dept. and a man took my info then transferred me to another man who took my info, put me on hold and after waiting severall minutes I realized he wasn't coming back.So I called AGAIN, explained what happened and was transferred AGAIN back to the dept.,where the man asked for my info again and then transferred me to another man who took my info again, I was told there would be no delivery charge and said" fine". He then put me on hold again and YUP you guessed it, he never came back to the phone...it was unclear to me if it had been processed in their computer seeing as he never said thank you or goodbye. So I called yet again and spoke with a woman in customer service, she proceeded to take my info again and then told me there would be a $65.00 charge for delivery, I told her someone I had spoken to told me there would be no delivery charge, then she said "oh, that's a management problem, let me transfer you, I stopped her and said "this is a nightmare just charge me and get it over with". So she did, I then asked about the time of the delivery, and she said they did not handle that but she would transfer me to the 3rd party co. that did. Fine, I said..only to get some random voicemail where the box was full and couldn't leave a message. I called Lowes Again and told her what happened, she gave me a number to call,which I did,and spoke to someone I couldn't understand so I was transferred to yet someone else who told me I would receive a call between 530 and 1030 that nite. they called at 1015 gave me the delivery time of between 4 and 8 PM the next day. The next day I got a call from the third party co. At 3:00 And told me he would be there in five minutes. I told him he's supposed to come between 4 and 8 , he argued with me saying he'd give me till 3:15 or he was taking it back. I was not at the location yet because he was 45 min. early. I rushed to the new apt. I was renting and they were waiting here already, not even 3:30 yet. Apparently Lowes employees have shit for brains making a very simple procedure a nightmare. NEVER GOING BACK FOR ANYTHING!! GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER LOWES!! read more

Bought a dryer on Sunday. They said they could deliver it on Monday, GREAT!!!!! Unfortunately the phone call was missed so they never showed. That's understandable. Called Delivery on Monday, they said they could deliver on Wednesday. Good!!! Got the call saying between 12:00 noon and 2:00 pm. Perfect time. NOT OBVIOUSLY!!! The driver called at 12:34 pm and said he would be there in "a couple minutes". It is now 2:26 PM and they still HAVE NOT SHOWN UP, nor have they called. Called Delivery, the guy said he was in the middle of loading up a truck and could he have my number, NO YOU CANNOT!!! I will be bringing back my receipt - they better not show now and I am heading to Home Depot!!!!! read more

I might have had an out of the ordinary Lowe's experience but when I went it was the best Lowes or Home Depot experience I've ever had. I went on Black Friday so my guess is the management made sure to over-staff for the day, only the store was practically empty (around 11am). There were a ton of workers, all in their right departments, and everyone was very friendly and extremely helpful. I was also able to get some amazing deals, a $100 Christmas tree for $38, a 5V Black and Decker Jigsaw for $39 (the regular price I believe), and a Kobolt 42 piece tool gift set for $19. read more

This place is a very big and nice home inprovment store where you can get just about anything.. the prices are fair on all there products and most of the time cheaper then there competitors. I live right down the street and choose to come here over any of the other home imrovment stores.. The only downside about this place is the staff, if you dont know where something is you might as well leave because you are only going to find a handfull of decent staff here, the majority of the staff are pretty terrible and barely know english.. read more

It's Lowes folks. They have stuff, a lot of cheap stuff. You get what you pay for, and nothing more. That being said - it's the quality of the staff that makes the difference. Someone who knows the difference between an awl and a chisel. This Lowes has the worst staff. There are two people worth a question there and that's Ernie or tool world Mark and I have not seen Mark in a while. The rest can be put into categories - there is the new I don't know jack squat, but I will be pleasant type; the mix of belligerent and enough knowledge to hurt themselves type; and the I'm going to make myself scarce type. Jen up front in customer service was helpful to me one day, but her outward body language would make anyone think twice about approaching her unless there was a counter between you. Malki in appliances is pleasant and reasonably knowledgeable. Do your research before going in, and avoid the 'help'. You will be better off. Or better yet, go to Westborough, Hudson or any of the outlying stores if you can afford the time. Worcester has its over abundance of dirtbags, and these folks are probably jaded from dealing with so many of them. Sad for the rest of us. Deliveries are performed by a third party - and if something happens the staff are quick to point this out in attempts to avoid having anything more to do with you. read more

I do enjoy shopping at Lowe's, however not at this location. I recently learned that this location does not honor the Lowe's military discount as outlined in their policy that other stores follow, this store has additional exclusions including wood pellets. If a marine can't use the discount to keep his family warm while he is hundreds or thousands of miles away than that is disgraceful. This location cares more about profits than supporting the men and women that give up so much for us everyday. I will continue to shop at Lowe's, but not this location. I had a horrible experience with Lowe's trying to get a front door installed. I bought a basic door for around $200 and they charged me approximately $900 for the installation. I thought this was outrageous but needed someone to do the job. It took about three weeks to get someone out to measure the door and on Oct. 31 they finally came to do the measurements. It's now Dec. 4th and my door is still not installed after several phone calls and inquiries. After talking to the most annoying sales associate who was in charge of all installations at Lowe's, who still couldn't provide me with an answer as to when the installation was going to happen I decided to ask for my money back. I'm so glad I did because I found someone to do the job for $500 total instead of close to $1100. You suck, Lowe's .. and you lost money with your poor business practices. read more

Ordered a therma star patio door on line, they called and scheduled delivery and on day of delivery 6/18 I was informed the truck broke down and couldn't deliver that day. A new date was rescheduled for Monday. They never showed up. By mid morning I contacted and they said I wasn't even in the system ! I went thru at least 7 people who worked there over the phone trying to figure out the status, delivery on my door. Online ordering is terrible, they do not have proper communication with this service, waistled 2 days of waiting for delivery, I asked the manager for a waiver on delivery and he flat out said no. A company this large should be more considerate towards customers especially when they can't even get their act together when in comes to organizing on line purchases and scheduled deliveries. read more

Ordered a large stand-up freezer for my parents for delivery. Three times they claimed they attempted delivery and that the road was too narrow/steep. Meanwhile the UPS/FEDEX trucks and full sized garbage trucks have no problem on the road every week. There have been a handful of big rigs with full trailers down the road when people have moved in or out. All three times they never called me. I waited all the way through the delivery window and then had to call Lowe's to find out why nothing showed. When I finally got sick of this, I called the store and told them to just leave it for pickup, that I would come get it. The manager halfheartedly apologized and promised that I could pull up right out front and someone would remove the old freezer and load on the new one. Nope. My father and I had to wait around customer service for 25 minutes while the nice lady at the desk called for an associated no less than 6 times. Then, when we get outside, the "associate" gripes at me about the old freezer in the back of my truck. When I tell him what the manager told me, he tells me that is not how it works and that I have to drive the thing around back and load it in some shipping container. So when I drive around back there are no shipping containers. I just unloaded the thing next to a wall and drove back around front. There I find the associate and another younger associate out front with my new freezer. The young one goes to load the freezer and the "associate" stops him and says "they got it." My father, who is 60, tells him that he has back problems and the ASSociate looks at him and says "Yea so do I." At this point I had enough, looked at the kid and said, "Let's just get this damn freezer in the truck. I will help you." I think the ASSociate put like one hand on it and pretended he was helping. Needless to say, I do all my shopping at Home Depot now. read more
