We visited during a recent road trip to the hill country when we unexpectedly needed food for dinner and some extra snacks. You can find all the basics you need here. There isn't a huge variety of every item, but there should be at least one or two choices of what you want to meet your needs. They had a really nice assortment of frozen meals and desserts perfect for a family on vacation. There was also a wide selection of salsa. They do sell beer and hard seltzer. The food prices are higher than they would be at a Walmart but the convenience can't be beat. This is a combination grocery/hardware/garden shop so this would also be a good place to go if you needed to fix something. Staff were friendly and efficient. We recommend coming here on vacation if you need to pick up a few things. read more

Bought a RV sewer line there and price was marked as 49.00 when I could of got from Walmart for 30.00 but that was not the problem. It was marked 49.00 I got to register and it was 59.00. I normally wouldn't have notice except that was all I bought. So becarefull. Price on the shelf is not always what they advertise. Staff is great. read more

Very confusing when you arrive at this location. You're almost not sure it is a supermarket, but indeed IT IS!! This is because on the outside all one sees are lawnmowers and farm equipment. Parking is very ample, gas station and Dollar General share that location. Gave the supermarket 3 stars for their quality of their fruits and vegetables. Bananas were beyond ripe and apples were actually almost all bruised. There were pre sliced water melons but my wife and I didn't want to take a chance on the possiblity it could be sour when we got home. The store is STILL the ONLY supermarket that was close to our Best West Hotel for that area. This is a pretty decent place for a small town grocery store. They have an ample selection of goods for your every day needs. They also have some products that you can't even find at some of your bigger grocery chains. During avocado season, they have some enormous avocados from some mutant avocado farm in Mexico, exclusive supplier to Lowe's. I believe the avocados are then loaded by giant ants straight onto the same ships they used to move King Kong around in the movies. You know the ones. An Ace Hardware and a pharmacy are also located within, making this a good one stop shop. read more

Name is confusing and storefront is kinda hidden. Didn't even realize Johnson City had a grocery store for the longest time and was so thrilled to find a local one. It's little but has a surprisingly good selection and more generous hours than you might think. We've always found every ingredient we needed, gotten good produce, and have never noticed any expired or near-expiring packaged foods. But it's a small store with a small customer base; you can't expect a big city grocery store. Very friendly checkers. Always something fun and random by the checkout - my favorite sweatshirt is from here, ha. Love having the Ace Hardware attached too; its selection is definitely more limited than a huge box store but I'm grateful not to have to drive to Marble Falls or Fredericksburg to get the basics when I need something basic outside Odiorne Feed's hours. read more

Pricey but convenient because it's the closest market in the area. The closest H‑E‑B or WalMart is about 25 miles away in Marble Falls.

(In my opinion) Knowingly Sells EXPIRED items on the shelves, bought Kraft Fat Free Ranch Salad Dressing that expires in 2 weeks, had stomach cramps. Went to buy Hidden Valley Fat Free Salad Dressing in it's place that item expired (December 17, 2016) today is 1/14/2017, Also Priced almost Twice than the regular retail price..... They are also price gouging. For just 3 small Serrano peppers, it was going to cost almost $4. Really!!!! Also... always look and Check Prices at the checkout. Prices are always much higher than the actual price. That has happened to me 4 times. Never have any good explanation why checkout machine does that. read more

Can I just say that I think it's awesome that this town has a grocery store that also doubles as an Ace Hardware? Where else could you pick up a can of paint next to the frozen foods? I felt like I was transported back in time to the little town where my dad grew up. Back in the present, I had no complaints with the food we bought. We were staying in a place with a grill and kitchenette, so we picked up some burgers and some chicken to grill and some eggs for the morning and we cooked up some tasty stuff. Prices were reasonable - especially the chicken. You're not going to find the kind of selection that you might get in Austin or Fredricksburg, but you don't have to drive 20 miles to get there, either. Service was friendly. While they didn't have a huge staff, they opened as many registers as they could to move people through the line. I ended up coming back three times the weekend we were in town to pick up stuff we neglected to pack and found what we needed and was out the door in a flash. read more

If you expect mega chain store prices and selection, you should probably go fight the crowds. This is a nice small town grocery store that Johnson City/ Blanco County is fortunate to have. I prefer to shop here although it is the same distance to HEB. read more

The store in Johnson City Texas knows they are our only grocery store and take full advantage of their monoply. Several residents buy a lot of their groceries from Dollar General. The community has a large population of elderly and disabled residents who go ahead and pay the high prices, choose their food from a limited variety of brands, purchase out of date food, friendly staff unaware of what the weekly add contains, and very rude treatment at closing time. I was sought out and told from the front of the store to where I was in the very back corner, the store is closed. Basically, he did not want to be inconvenienced by a customer who needed more time to shop and spend more money. The company allows staff to prioritize getting off at 9:00 pm instead of letting a customer finish her grocery shopping. The next day, I drove to Marble Falls and spent over $300.00 at H.E.B and Walmart with a huge variety of current products plus shopping at my leisure. Lowes customer base is aging quickly and the younger generations will not replace them. read more

I'm giving it a two only because I've been to worse. This is not the place to go if you want high quality or natural food but will do for necessities in a pinch. Also can take a long time to check out. On the plus side it's incorporated with a hardware store so you can also get a lawn mower or screws with your groceries. read more
