As one of the few home improvement stores in our area, we frequent this store quite a bit when my husband or I get the home project bug. The store is typically very clean and there's an employee down pretty much every aisle any day you go in asking if they can help you find something. The only downside we've seen recently is that the website will say items are in stock in store (particularly boards of wood) and when we get there, they aren't there. We've been told multiple times when that happens it's usually due to an employee adding stock to the system before the merchandise actually arrives. Can be very inconvenient when you're driving 15-20 mins to the store. We love the veteran only parking spots they have reserved, a great way to honor our military. Returns are fast and easy right when you walk in the door, they also have pick up lockers now if you order something online. All in all a great store. read more

Ordered a washer and dryer online. Simple $2k purchase to be delivered. Did not notice due to weather, dark, rainy that the top of the dryer had a few cut marks on it. Simply wanted it swapped out or discounted. Customer care said I would receive a call in 24 hours. 72 hours nothing so I called back. They claimed they called and they said I am set up for taking the dryer away. I said OK you mean swapping out right? No he proceeded to to me that they dont do that. Well I said that is not happening. Have the store call me so we can square this up. Not for nothing over the past 20 years I have spent 100k at Lowes- as a home owner... not the way you should be treating good customers. read more

The Lowes store in North East, was the only store in the area that had s now shovels and good ones.

I am now reserved to only shopping at this Lowes location when I absolutely need something immediately. They are located very close to my home and convenient, but absolutely not worth the hassle any longer. I visited to order cabinet hardware which were special order items. It took four different employees to tell me that none of them could actually order the hardware and told me that they should not be displaying the items because they were not available. Frustrated, I visit the Lowes in Abingdon, MD. The hardware representative stated that he had never performed a special order, but the order sheet located on the wall near the display had directions how to order the units. Needless to say, in 15 minutes, I was in and out of the store with almost $200 of cabinet hardware ordered. After completing the installation, I wanted to order more cabinet hardware and re-visited the Lowes in North East, MD. I filled out the special order sheet and the associate at the hardware counter stated that I would need to order them from customer service. When I walk up to customer service, I am told they need to be ordered from hardware. Another 3 employees later, a customer service manager takes my advice and reads from the directions at the bottom of the sheet and orders the hardware I needed. This location is new, but I have given them too many chances. I am done with the Lowes in North East, MD. read more

Have to say I'm quite disappointed in Lowe's in North East, MD right now. I was to have a call this evening regarding the delivery time frame for my dryer tomorrow. It's now 10:07 PM and no call. I called twice during the 7-9 PM time frame today to inquire about when to expect a call and was assured it would happen. So, needless to say, I'll be calling again at 6 AM tomorrow morning to find out what time I can expect to receive my new dryer. Shaking my head... read more

I just want to say that I don't typically write reviews for anything. But I am very frustrated and feel the need to share my experience with the North East Lowes. I haven't been to Lowes in a while, and this was my first time back here in a long time. That being said, my boyfriend and I went in to look for a temperature/humidity gauge for my snake tank. We were greeted by a sales associate (I believe his name was Matt or Mark or something like that) whom asked us if we needed help with anything. We told him that we needed a temperature and humidity gauge for our snake tank. We explained that we had an AccuRite brand one before and wanted to see if they carried any. He then told us that they do not carry AccuRite products, and told us PetCo was close by and that we should check there. He also said that anything they do have, is way more than what we would need for our snake. That made me very angry because we were looking for a specific brand that we thought Lowes would carry, and PetCo does not sell the product we were looking for. If we thought PetCo carried it, wouldn't you think we would have went there instead? Like trust me, Lowes is NOT my first choice. Not only that, but we use quality products for my animals because we care about their well-being. Who are you to say what we do or do not need? The only explanation I can think of as to why he was so insistent on them not carrying said product, and being as rude as he was, was the fact it was 7pm (they closed at 8) and maybe he was just wanting us to go, I don't know. Either way, we were only looking for one item. But it was unnecessary and needless to say, thank GOD for their website, because we were able to find the EXACT item we were looking for, in stock, in an aisle FULL of AccuRite products! I have to say this is one of the worst experience I've had trying to buy appliances and installed. We went there 2 weeks ago to buy a stove, dishwasher, and microwave. We selected the items we wanted and since we were getting it installed, we were told we had to have our place inspected to ensure everything will fit. So we had to pay $35 for each item, which would be reimbursed later. A week ago our place was inspected, so we've been waiting for a week and no one calls or anything. Today we go down to Lowe's to inquire on our order, and we find out that the prices we agreed for our items was no longer available and in fact would cost us more. Spoke to the manager Daniella and was told she might be able to get a little discount but not for the cost we agreed on. So we walked out and lost the $105 with a bad experience. We normally shop at Home Depot but figured we'd try Lowe's. What a big mistake, we're going back to Home Depot. read more

Well they may have low prices but my stove and fridge(floor model) did not come on april 6 the as I was promised. So when I didn't here anything we went to store on 9th. Got no information. I call on the 11th and I'm told the delivery is scheduled for tomorrow. WTF doesn't someone need to be here for delivery? Do you think people can just take off with less than 12 hours notice? I was also told is was delivered on the 9th. Seriously do you think I am an Fing moron? I know it wasn't delivered on a Sunday. So I should get a call between 7-9 tonight to set up delivery for tomorrow. Or I can reschedule if it's not convenient and wait another month for the fridge & stove I have already waited over a month for. Maybe I was generous with the 2 stars. I am furious and upset! I just went in and tried for half an hour to get answers on a riding mower and NO ONE could help me! Not even the manager! How can you have 50 riding mowers there, be a store manager, and have no one there (including yourself) that knows about them! In spite of some reviews, I went to lowes when my washing machine failed. Local appliance shop unable and unwilling to repair even though it had been purchased there.Did not even call when missed scheduled appointment. I decided that I would try lowes and found the washer I wanted, a basic model and the young lady was very courteous and sympathetic and made sure I had every thing I needed and scheduled the delivery the next day between 11:30 and 1:30 as I had pressing appt at 4:00. The delivery arrived at 11:45. Very professional and quick. Removed old washer and had new one installed and tested in about 1 hour. I will not hesitate to recommend Lowes and delivery men to anyone. read more

Our 10 year old fridge stopped working overnight and in addition to the water cleanup we had several hundred dollars worth of food in jeopardy. In addition to the impact to our family my wife also runs a daycare so we needed to get backup and running as soon as humanly possible. Thankfully the folks a Lowes were able to not only recommend a product that fit our needs and budget but they went way above and beyond our expectations by scheduling an emergency same day delivery. Their actual team (not a second hand contractor) delivered the new refrigerator to our home and installed it that same day. To compound the problem one of our entrance ways was slightly too small for the fridge to come through and because of the design of the fridge the door removal process was a bit more complicated than what I could handle. Lowes staff stepped up again calling in their appliance expert to swing by our house and help the installers remove and reassemble the doors. I think at one point I had 5 people from Lowes actively engaged here in the setup, all at the spur of the moment and we were able to salvage the food we had placed on ice and fully restock prior to opening our business backup on Monday. As a customer this is a WOW experience. I thought for sure we'd be out all of our food and that we'd have to pay through the nose for delivery but Lowes did it all immediately and for free. I can't thank that team enough. I could never have gotten through this alone! read more

Friendliest home improvement store around. They are always willing to help and provide great service and value. They have a beautiful garden center and will load soil and mulch without even asking. Very knowledgeable but if they don't know, then they will find someone who does. Very happy with Lowes of North East! read more
