I've been buying from Bell Supply for about 15 years. Over those years, I purchased about 6 faucets, two shower stalls, and an HVAC system for my home from them. Always helpful and a selection of great products that you can't get at the home supply stores. They have a huge showrooms where you can check out the equipment - many faucets are hooked up and operational. Unlike some similar places I've been to, they like helping homeowners, not just contractors. read more

Apparently, my order was entered incorrectly into their system and my order was canceled. I called the store and on the fourth attempt, I finally was able to speak to a team member. I asked for the general manager who needed to call me back as he was busy with a customer. Once the general manager called me back, he offered to enter my order back into the system and I would only need to come back into the store and pay for it again. Not a big deal, the issue was that the refrigerator would not be delivered on the promised date. I travel extensively for my job and curtailed my schedule for this delivery. The general manager did not offer any further discount or any type of recovery for my inconvenience. I understand that things happen, but how you deal with issues is what separates you from the competition. Unfortunately, the competition has won me over. It's a shame as this was the closest store where I could make such a purchase.

I knew what I wanted, but needed a store representative to write up the order. I did not want to go to the store only to find that there was no one on duty in that department, so I tried calling to see when someone would be there who could place the order. I called repeatedly for 3 days and was never able to reach someone who could help - my call would be transferred, no one would answer, it would be transferred again . . . etc. So I finally went to the store and asked them to page someone to come to that section. The person I asked checked the schedule and said that yes, the custom blinds person was there. I waited for about 10 minutes and never heard the page, so I went up front again. This time I did hear the page, but again I waited about 10 minutes and no one came. They paged a second time and still no one came. I went back up front to see what was going on, but this time couldn't get anyone's attention, so I left. I'm ordering from Home Depot instead. It cost 5% more, but at least I was able to get help! The lack of service here is really really bad!

The sprinkler system is not set up properly, they have the flower beds and grass on the same zone, beds and grass need different amounts of watering. I asked to have the drip system connected to my pots, which wasn't done. They beds were not turned or tilled, they just put potting soil on the top of the bed. I didn't realize it until I started to dig holes for new plantings and the bed under the 3 inches of potting soil where hard and hadn't been turned in the slightest. I tried calling numerous times and sent texts, last response was over a month ago saying they would send someone out the next week which never happened. Extremely disappointed.

When we arrived there were unfortunately no sales associates available to help us, which was surprising given it was a Saturday afternoon. There was one sales person working at the time but he was helping someone else, so one of the service techs tried to assist as best as possible. He was extremely friendly and directed us to the models that would most likely be a best fit for our needs. Once the sales associate got freed up, he started working with my husband and me. Unfortunately about a half hour into our progress we were passed off again to another sales associate. It was a little frustrating to have to re-start our conversations and explain what we needed to so many different people. Once we got settled with the associate who would ultimately take us through the purchase process, there was a lot of up-selling going on. I can't tell you how many times I had to say "no" to a water bottle cage or bike bells. The one thing that happened that dropped my rating down a star involves the bike mount. We originally wanted a bike hitch rack, and were told repeatedly that it needed to be 2". It was even the one thing that I physically wrote down before I left the store. Unfortunately it turns out that they don't make a 2" trailer hitch for my car, and when I called Trek to request a trunk rack instead I was told, oh, a 1.25" hitch would be fine. After calling 4 different installers to try to get an appropriate hitch only to find out that I was given the wrong size to start, I was exasperated and over the entire thing. You should also know the hitch installer they work with "down the road" gave the most expensive quote of anyone I spoke with. Anyway, I ultimately got a trunk rack and was able to pick up my bikes. I am not sure if I'll make the effort to return to this particular location considering there are others closer to my house, but in the end, I got what I needed.

I purchased washer and dryer from BigCentric this past summer. What had brought me into the store…read morewas the sale price of a front-load LG washer and dryer pair. When comparing prices, BigCentric's price was about $300 less for each unit than the exact same units at The Home Depot and Lowe's, which were also supposedly on sale at those stores. I had recently moved into a new condo, and the salesperson was familiar with my condo development. Given what the salesperson knew of the condo development and the space limitations that sometimes existed there, he thought that the LG units that were on sale were the best bet. There was no attempt to get me to upgrade to more expensive units. Additionally there was no attempt to get me to purchase an extended warranty on the units. In fact, there was no mention of an extended warranty at all! I was further impressed, however, when they followed up with me after the delivery of the units. My condo, indeed, has a very tight space to fit the units in, and the delivery people who installed the units were relatively new to the job. BigCentric phoned me to ask me how the installation went. They offered to send their experienced installers to come and take a look to make sure that everything was done correctly, which occurred within the next several days. The more experienced guys did find something that had not been taken care of during the initial installation, and they corrected it. The staff at the store is totally professional, and everyone seems to have a genuine concern that the customer is completely satisfied. When it comes to buying appliances in the future, I will not even think about shopping anywhere else.

I went there to look for new kitchen appliances, and the experience was disappointing from start to…read morefinish. The staff was rude, and I was told I needed an appointment. I had called ahead to ask whether the models I wanted to see were in stock and was told they were, but when I arrived, they weren't. Instead, I was told to go see them at National Appliance Warehouse and then come back because they would price match. That struck me as very unprofessional. It seemed like they were using other companies as their showroom because they didn't actually have what they advertised on display. I also noticed several older models being presented as if they were new. I could be mistaken, but that was the impression I got. One thing that really stood out to me was that it appeared one of the refrigerators on the showroom floor was being used to store an employee's lunch. Maybe that particular refrigerator wasn't actually for sale, but it wasn't marked as such, so it gave the impression that the display appliances were being used by employees. I could be wrong, but that was honestly how it looked to me. The delivery times were also much longer than expected. When it came time to place an order, I found out the appliance would actually be shipped from another company rather than directly from them. That made the entire process feel like they were brokering the sale instead of selling inventory they actually had. Several of the appliances also had small nicks, dents, and marks, yet they were not labeled as scratch-and-dent items. In the end, they didn't earn my business. Buyers should do their homework before purchasing and make sure the products they're expecting to see are actually available before making the trip.

I recently visited Brandywine Lighting for a simple vanity fixture. As always, I received a warm…read moregreeting from the owner and staff. The questions they asked about the project helped me to select the fixture and lamp type for the application. If I had gone to a big box store, or other showroom, I would have left with the wrong fixture. While I was there they consulted with me on a future project for outdoor lighting. Once again, I would have made the wrong selection on my own and probably spent more money. Brandywine lighting is one of those "gems" in a crowded field of big stores with staff who know very little about lighting.
