Had a lovely brunch today at the Lowesville Cafe. It's spotlessly clean and smells like pancakes. Everyone we encountered working here was super friendly and helpful. I had The American: 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, 2 hotcakes (mancakes? lol) and hash browns. Everything was cooked perfectly, especially the pancakes which smelled heavenly and were the best I've had in years. Hubby has The Meats omelette with toast and grits. It was stuffed full of meat & cheese and the grits were cooked well. For a Tuesday mid-morning, it was busy! Everyone was hustling and the food came out fast and fresh. This is a fantastic diner. The coffee is flowing, the cakes are hot and fluffy, the egg omelettes are meaty and delicious!! The folks are just good ole folks, and they are open early. Great breakfast spot for the wife and I. Let's say compared to my previous breakfast place, I was thrilled they had real plates and forks. This is a solid neighborhood diner spot. Early AM lots of tradesmen headed through her for a solid breakfast. Sat/Sun mornings can be slammed because they have good biscuits, staff that can properly prepare an egg, and the menu is good and easy to execute come here enough and the staff will know your name. Finally made it in for breakfast after passing by for years. Extremely disappointed. I ordered two eggs over medium and corned beef hash. The eggs were barely over easy with runny yolks and the hash was a round slab that looked like it was pressed out of the can. The hash was room temperature. I won't be back. read more

I've been here several of times and it you come in an off time you might even get served. Today was typical. We walked in and they were busy. We had the odd party of five which is always difficult. Told a 5 minutes wait. 15 minutes later we left. They only have three set up for a party of five, all of which were taken. Two of the three were occupied. At the same time, there were several tables for four which over time became vacant. My wife asked it we could not add a table at the end and told no. End of story. End of story. After 15 minutes, we left and drove 5 minutes to Westlake. They did not have a table for party of 5 either but had the same table of 4 which they could put a chair at the end and have lunch. Great local spot with friendly staff! One Saturday morning my company needed to have a sales meeting and we decided to have it over breakfast. I looked on yelp and found the Lowesville café and decided to give it a shot. The LC did not disappoint! There was eight of us so I was worried about seating. But they gave us our own corner and two servers. The food was delicious and pretty inexpensive, and servers were on top of their game. Ambiance: All the wood on the walls gives it's a rustic country feel. Seems to be a favorite among locals Food: Delicious. I really enjoyed the flavor of the bacon, sausage and grits. I really liked my French toast, I just wish it was a bit more crispy. Service: Fast and Friendly. Brooke took amazing care of us and was on top of it all. Good ol' American breakfast they served: perfectly cooked bacon; good biscuit and gravy (country gravy not sausage gravy); good coffee; I tried hush brown casserole for the first time in my life here and it was not bad. Tried lunch once and it was pedestrian. Service was friendly. It's always busy on weekends (yes they do open on Sundays). read more

First time eating here. We have driven past this place countless times and never stopped but today we decided to. They are open for breakfast and lunch only we were here at lunchtime. It's a little cafe with a Country feel as it is on the edge of suburban Charlotte and the country side. The food was so good, you can tell they use high quality ingredients and it is made with care. The bread has to come from a local baker there is no way it could be so tasty from freeze thaw distributer bread. The restaurant was v y clean and the server was experienced, friendly, not at all over bearing and efficient. Family owned local HOT spot. Stays pretty busy the whole time it's open but service and food is good and consistent. Home fries are not what you're expecting. They are large chopped, boiled, then browned with crispy edges from grill. Yummy hunks begging for lots of ketchup and Texas Pete. Grilled pork chops one of my favorites!! Bacon not cooked to death. I love supporting small businesses and I decided to stop in here after church. I pulled the tip out of my pocket to give to my father so he could set hit on the table whenever we finished our food and went to pay. It was only a 5 dollar bill because I was paying with a card, and that's all I had in cash. As we sit down a middle aged blonde woman takes our drink orders yet never brings them, then comes back asking if I had picked up a 5 off the table. She had seen me hand my dad the bill out of my pocket before we sat down and accused me of stealing the money and giving it to my dad. She and her other employee. Brown headed, around 50, come by and demand we give her the money that I had "stole". After we ate we decided to ask the woman to see the film, she complied and me, her, her husband, and my father watched the film. We showed her I had reached in my pocket and pulled out the five. After she realized we were right (her husband agreeing with us) she demanded he go back inside and not mess with these b****es anymore. We had asked if he could show us one more time and he was in the middle of pulling it up when she called him in, she was whistling, yelling, and even yelling in other languages for him to get inside now. We were going to leave the 5 to our actual waitress, a nice old lady who we later found out had cancer. Yet the two women from before took the money and left us no more to tip. Out of the many staff, around 2/15 are actually kind enough to actually even get you a drink. The food came out wrong twice aswell. After refusing to at least apologize after this conflict, her husband tried to, that's when she pulled him in not letting him mutter another word. I asked if it was there, why she hadn't picked it up when seating us. She said it want hers and her and her coworkers had a trust bond of not taking each others money... the filmed shows that she had been the one serving, and busting the table before our arrival. I do not appreciate her also telling me, I should be ashamed to steal money on Sunday, the day of the lord. When she knew, as everyone knew she had only accused us of the theft. This is a restaurant I will NEVER eat at again. read more

Extremely poor service, staff doesn't appear to be happy and friendly, food was luke warm, took about 45 mind to get food (for 2 people), no drink refills, wait staff disappears, numerous empty tables with a 30 min wait (people walking in the door and being told kitchen is behind and at least a 30 min wait for service). Was not impressed and won't be back. We were told that everything about this place was great - no so much!!! read more
