Rise Café is a total Gem! The food was absolutely delicious and the staff super friendly. I tried the corn beef hash and while it was described as house made, I would venture to guess it's actually high-quality store-bought, corned beef, finally minced and seasoned with the potatoes even so it was very good! The grits were really creamy although you can tell they're cooked with chicken broth rather than heavy cream, which is the traditional southern way. It is a bit small inside maybe 10 tables total but they have a nice patio in front that's fairly expensive. I would definitely return as a regular to this establishment. I like the esthetic of this place and the service was very good. However, the quality of the food was not as good as I hoped given the price. I paid 19 dollars for the "epic chicken and waffles" which was specifically described as including "crispy chicken tenders." When I got the dish, it looked very good and the waffle was good, but the chicken was not actually chicken tenders (i.e. the tenderloin of the chicken breast) it was actually cheap formed chicken like chicken mcnuggets (aka pink slime chicken) but just shaped into a longer shape. If I had paid maybe 7 or 8 dollars for chicken and waffles I might understand this kind of corner cutting, but it's unacceptable for a 19 dollar dish and it's also just flat out false advertising. read more

We visited this location in August 2025 and I am just now getting around to finishing the review. We went for breakfast. The coffee was great, and while the service was a bit slow by New England standards, no complaints here. It was actually nice to slow down, especially while on vacation. The food had classic breakfast flavors and was solid overall. I especially enjoyed my latte, which was easily the highlight of the meal. My kids loved the Lego decorations throughout the space. While we waited for our food and the server, they had fun trying to spot all of them. It was a lovely added experience and made the wait feel shorter. On a recent breakfast outing, my wife and I wanted to give them a try. Their eggs Benedict were just OK and the hollandaise sauce is more like pure butter without any acid. We also had junkyard (or something to that effect bowl) and it was just OK. The eggs both for the Benedict and the bowl were very rubbery for some reason. The atmosphere is outstanding, the service was excellent, but the food was just mediocre and for the prices, it was really expensive. There are lots of other breakfast places that offer superior quality food for the cost (or less expensive). Willing to give them one more try but not anytime soon. Had frequented this spot when owned by original owners, and very satisfied, then sold and was just not anywhere as good. Resold to new owner and went to try again. Pleasantly surprised with the service and quality of food ordered. Wife ordered grilled cheese sandwich, a few cheeses used as well as tomato and bacon added, on a hearty bread. Also had a nice cheese skirt melted around sandwich. She loved it along with the crisp fries. I had a order of full pancakes, 3 rustic shaped pancakes with good flavor, added maple syrup and butter to make a delicious breakfast. Service was excellent and will again become a regular breakfast restaurant rotation. read more

The restaurant was very busy this morning, which may have contributed to some of the issues I experienced. Service was quite slow. I sat at the bar for more than ten minutes before anyone took my order. Once ordered, the food took a significant amount of time to arrive, and the quality was disappointing. The eggs were ordered scrambled but arrived runny. The steak was cool, suggesting it may have been sitting out for a while before being served. The home fries were also somewhat overcooked. After the food was delivered, no one checked back to ensure everything was prepared properly, and I was never offered a drink refill. In addition, there were several tables waiting to be cleaned throughout my visit. It appeared that the restaurant may have been understaffed, with only three service staff members handling a large number of customers. While that may explain some of the delays, there is definitely room for improvement. My previous visit was much better, so I hope this experience was an exception rather than the norm. read more

3.5 stars, rounding up, because Rise only uses pasture-raised eggs. My husband and I visited The Egg at this location a couple of times before the change in ownership to Rise Cafe, but everything with the transition was seamless. The menu is the same, except Rise has higher prices. We've visited here a few times since the change in ownership, and they are consistent. Rise has a small dining room, but since we eat earlier than most, we've never had trouble getting a table inside. I like the mixed grill omelette, which is an American cheese omelet with diced ham, bacon, and sausage. This omelette is FULL of meat, but the cheese is a bit sparse. I learned that cheddar can be used in place of American, so I'll ask for that the next time. I like their hash browns, especially since you can get shredded cheddar as a topping, or add onions and peppers. You also get toast, and I prefer their sourdough. (Note: They pre-butter the toast.) My husband likes their corned beef hash with over-medium eggs. While not a huge portion of corned beef, you can tell it's house-made, and it's delicious. He gets their homefries--served in soft cubes--which can be spruced up with cheese, onions, and peppers. Their English muffins are really good, too. I have to mention that this is the ONLY restaurant I know of that uses pasture-raised eggs from Vital Farms. The proof is in the beautifully orange yolks. We only use pasture-raised eggs at home, and appreciate that Rise serves only the best eggs. Service is friendly, and their food is freshly-made, so you may have to wait a few minutes before getting your food. But it's never been too long. The coffee is hot, but weak (in my opinion). I really prefer my brew to be stronger, and since the owner shared that they have espresso, I'll add a shot of espresso the next time. We will return! read more

Mooresville Location! Ordered the steak and eggs. Husband had the Tennessee "bene". Both came out lukewarm - still tasted good. When our server Layla (sp?) asked how everything was we shared w her and she showed concern and before we knew it we had a remake of the steak and eggs super hot and even more delicious thanks to Britt. I asked for gluten free bread and when I saw it, it looked too good to be true and I had to confirm it was really gluten free! It tasted delicious (Britt said it comes from Brooklyn!). We will definitely be back as they took the time to check in w us and make sure we were treated right. Also enjoyed the Lego creations all over the place. First time trying Rise on Mother's Day and it was a decent experience. We were seated quickly but had to wait a while for our food. Inside is small but there is also outdoor seating. We ordered the Iced Chai Tea Lattes, the Fried Green Tomato Bene with Hashbrowns, and the Junkyard. The Chai was pretty good but it comes with a ton of ice so it was watered down quickly. The Fried Green Tomato Bene was really good, but the hashbrowns were salty. They also gave out tasty mini deserts for Mother's Day. After getting our bill we were gifted a $5 off coupon for our next visit which was nice. Overall it was a good experience and I would visit Rise again. read more

After riding around trying to find a brunch spot on Mother's Day that did not have a 2 hour wait, we stumbled upon Rise Cafe. It's a cute little quaint spot. There is ample seating outside, a bar that seats around 7 and several tables inside against the wall. It would be hard to sit a large group of more than 5 or 6. We walked in and were immediately greeted. There was about a 10 minute wait for a table and we were promptly seated in about 10 mins. The ambiance was casual and artsy with a nice variety of Christian music playing in the background. We ordered the iced Chai Latte. It was good but had extremely too much ice. I'm not a fast drinker and like to drink along with my food. By the time our food came out the chai was watered down. It did take a while for the food to come out, we weren't in a rush, so that didn't matter much. I ordered the Junkyard with a pancake instead of toast. It's a bowl with hasbrowns,ham, sausage, salsa, mushrooms and gravy. It was nice and heat hot. This was actually a good combination, but the hasbrowns were extremely salty, and made it hard to enjoy. The pancake was in the shape of a heart, great touch, but it was cold to the touch. The butter would not melt. I would suggest keeping the pancake under a heat lamp until the entire dish is ready. For mothers Day, there was a complimentary homemade chocolate rose, filled with lemon custard, and raspberry sauce dessert and a $5 coupon for our next visit. Delicious! 10/10. That should be an option on the menu. Overall, the staff was friendly and checked on us a couple times. There are a ton of other menu items, if I were to return, I would try other options. read more

Our sever Fabiola was so sweet and had our order correct from start to finish. I ordered a veggie/western omelette with hashbrowns and subbed French toast. We visited Rise for breakfast last weekend on the recommendation of my kids who said it was so yummy...and they were right! We arrived around 10 am, and of course, the place was packed. We opted to sit outside, and it was very windy. I can see that being a pleasant place to dine when the day is gorgeous. Because we were chilled, we ordered steaming cups of hot cocoa. What a decadent treat that was! So full of punchy chocolate creamy goodness! Our meals were delicious too. I had eggs, hashbrowns, ham and biscuits with gravy. Really yummy, but it was a lot of food, but I was able to share. We also tried pancakes, which were fantastic as well. Service was attentive and kind. My only complaint was the music they play. I always feel vaguely uncomfortable when religious music is playing. It is of course, their prerogative, but it seems like you might want to be a little more inclusive in 2024. I have been several times and I love this place. The location is close-by and it is quaint and comfortable. The staff have always been welcoming and cheery. This used to be a restaurant named The Egg which was a sister restaurant to the The Egg in Davidson. Ate at it a least once and even wrote a review on it. Couple of months ago, they were purchased and renamed Rise. The original name, The Egg is still on the side of the building over the main entrance. They have changed the name on the door however to the current, Rise. Predominately a breakfast place so I had Hashbrowns, Sausage Patties, Scrambled Eggs and Biscuits and Gravy along with some great black coffee. The Hashbrowns were excellent as were the Scrambled Eggs. The Sausage Patties had little flavor and the Biscuits and Gravy were just OK. I think the biscuits were out of a bad and just reheated. Still, it was a very filling Breakfast. One problem The Egg had was that they were understaffed. Not the problem here. Very small and crowded and very noisy but you could say the same for The Egg. Waitstaff is very good, and service is prompt and attentive. This is a place I could easily recommend for a good breakfast and a busy Sunday Morning. read more

Stopped by Rise Cafe for lunch today and the food was great. This was our second time eating here and the food has been great both times. I got a Nana's Ruben with fries. The rye bread was good. The meat was tender and had a great flavor. The sauerkraut and thousand island dressing were great. I loved my choice. My wife got a mushroom, Swiss, bacon burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was great too. The star of the meal was the sweet potato fries. The were dusted in a sugar, had a drizzle of honey on them and a jalapeño/mayo dip. They sweet potato fries almost tasted like funnel cakes. They were amazing. The staff was great too. I highly recommend this place for breakfast/brunch or lunch. read more
