Had a really great first experience at Shuffletown recently! Five of us ordered a lot of food, and we were served very quickly. Our server was fantastic. It was clear the people who work here work hard and care about their customers. It feels like Waffle House but the "local" version. I love all the historical decor inside. My son was craving some hamburger steak around our house and we stumbled in this gem. A little old small diner with a family feel. The sign outside said best burger on shuffletown. We sat down and was greeted quickly. The little small diner was slam packed but we was able to catch a table when somebody left. We had hamburger steak rice and mac and cheese. Hamburger steak was a good portion and the mac and cheese was pretty good nice and cheesy. The flavors didn't blow you away but definitely hit the spot. The staff was really friendly and attentive. I found this quaint little cafe on yelp. I was looking for a good breakfast spot that wouldn't break the bank and I found it. I ordered the chicken fajita omelette which came with grits and toast. Perfectly prepared. The grits were spot on, I didn't need to add anything! My waitress wasn't very attentive, but another waitress kept me taken care of. I later saw mine also was the cashier. Was looking for a quick, but local and yummy breakfast near the WWC while my husband was running a race. Found this local gem. We were seated swiftly and sat at the bar which was perfect for my son and I. Service was great! I ordered the grits bowl with bacon and topped with an egg. I took my car to Victory Chevrolet to get serviced and asked the shuttle driver to recommend a good breakfast place. I am so glad I was dropped off here. Tracy and Regina are such a pleasant energy to experience in the morning. A breath of fresh air. I ordered coffee and the Flounder breakfast with eggs, grits and rye toast. It was delicious. Had beakfast at the Shuffletown Drive-in this morning. I've been dining here since moving to Charlotte in April, 2018. It's a breakfast and lunch place (Monday-Friday, 6::00 AM through 2:00 PM. Their eggs and sausage/bacon are great. I always get hash browns and some toast (and they have rye bread!!). Not only are the prices very good but the service is exceptional. You get coffee refills without asking but if you need some quickly, just raise your hand. And they have good coffee! You can drink two or three cups and enjoy each one. The ambiance is something akin to the 1950's, when there was a dirt race track nearby called Shuffletown. Red leather upholstery on the chairs and bench seats but the place is kept neat and clean. The prices will remind you of going out to eat before the pandemic. Breakfast was under $10.00$. They have hot lunch specials daily like pork tips. The Shuffletown Drive-in is located on Rozzelle's Ferry Road, about one block from Mount Holly/Huntersville Road, towards Brookshire Road. If you are in Northwest Charlotte and hungry, give this place a try. read more

Omg I really want to know what people eat here? Our food was TERRIBLE everything tasted like you were chewing on dirty oil. I have never experienced this in my entire life. Terrible is a nice word for the food. We left hungry and stopped at Chic Fil A. Ok sorry not sorry but it was inedible and disgusting The hashbrowns tasted like chewing on plastic oil, the corn beef hash tasted like textured dirty oil, the eggs tasted like oil eggs, the turkey sausage tasted like oil meat, the grits even tasted Greasy. Corned beef hash, two eggs, and taters fill a plate plus a biscuit on the side and a steady supply of coffee... Corned beefs are properly browned and crispy and layed up against sunny-side eggs with browned hash browns opposite. This is a nice, old-fashioned NC diner. Service was great. The food is basic. We had a cheeseburger, which was exactly what you expect from a typical diner, so thumbs up for that. The BLT was the same (no bread options were mentioned, though). The chicken fingers were a little over-done, but the real issue was a lack of seasoning. The onion rings were hand-battered (a lot of the batter fell off), and again suffered from a lack of seasoning. "Hole in the wall" but institution restaurant of Charlotte. Big fan! Small restaurant, but packs a big punch. A lot of regulars are there, regulars who know the waiters/waitresses. We went over the weekend and luckily were seated right away. 10 minutes into us sitting down, look at the door and the line has picked up. The food is quick though so you're not waiting forever. Very cool history on the walls to learn about "Shufftletown" when it was a town before annexed into City of Charlotte. Very inexpensive breakfast and very tasty. I'm not sure if I should rejoice for finding this place and giving it a try or cry because I know I will be frequenting it often, esp when I work from home or on the wknds. Stepping into Shuffletown Drive-In takes you back a few decades. Most of the service staff is very friendly (my server, not so much). The menu contains many classic breakfast and lunch items. This is certainly a hang out for older generations. I ordered a club sandwich and fries. The club was good: fresh tomato, crisp lettuce, crunchy bacon and descent sliced turkey and ham. What a local treasure! Great place for brunch and local history. I love the paraphernalia of the former Shuffletown drag strip and staff that's been there for years. The food may not be fancy, but it's always hot and tasty. You know that's true because of the line out the door most Saturday mornings. They serve good coffee and keep it coming too.
