Stopped in on a Saturday night for some music and wine in the alley! Situated in an industrial park around the corner from police station you will find Lucas Sellers wine among other venues such as beer and coffee. A perfect location to stop if you are among mix company where one prefers beer while others prefer coffee! Tonight we decided to grab a bottle of wine! Lucas Sellers offers a wine variety of reds, whites, rose and Champagne. You can even get mimosas. Wine can be had by the glass or flights. Plus you can grab a bottle and take it away if you don't finish. They provided me great description of their winery, products and offered me significant amount of tasting so I could find my perfect bottle for the night. The winery offers comfy seating within their location among barrels. Super cool location to kick back with your bottle if you like the wine bottling vibe. Or on a Saturday night you can catch some music in the alley. Check the location schedule for events. We were fortunate to encounter an awesome duo on their guitars. What a treat! Such a gem of a wine spot tucked away in a charming alley alongside a brewery in Moorpark! As winery owners, we love exploring other tasting rooms, and this one absolutely delivered. The wines, atmosphere, and staff were all fantastic! The standout for me was their orange wine--I'm a big fan of skin-contact wines--but I also loved their Tannat and bold Cabernet. I opted for a mixed flight of reds and whites, and every pour was impressive. Of course, I couldn't leave without grabbing a bottle to take home! Again what a disappointment! Girlfriend got the white flight and not one of them tasted good. In fact she got nauseated towards the end that she ended up switching to beer. 21$ for a unpalatable white flight. Looking at people in the alleyway and i saw maybe one person drinking wine and girlfriend said that the inside of Lucas Sellers was empty! There is small tasting list but these lovely wines are not to disappoint. The Malbec was my favorite. And if your hungry there is a food truck with delicious options. Grand opening...not impressed. Wife and friends tasted the wines and had nothing good to say, but we believe in supporting local businesses so we purchased a glass of wine. Everyone at the table asked if I had purchased a tasting. I said no I paid $12 for a glass of really bad sour wine. We did take the wine back up and asked if it was a full pour and they said yes, but it was a half pour at the most. Very disappointing. What a great spot! We have been going to Enegren for years and love that they paired up with Lucas Sellers on the joint outdoor space. The winery is super cozy and relaxing but also spacious... enough for us to bring our baby and have our own couch to hang out on. Not too busy, but busy enough. I was so impressed with this new wine place! I live 2 hours north and had to come check it out. The place is so welcoming and homey that you cant help but want to stay and hang out. It's based on family and you can tell right away when you are greeted by one of their children or the owners themselves. I go wine tasting alot and there is nothing more impressive then when the wine maker himself and/or his wife make an effort to come talk to you personally. The wines speak for themselves ...very impressive. Such a cool concept having wine and beer combined in the alley, wish we had something like that where we live. Strongly recommend. Very cute family-owned winery. Stopped here on a Sunday afternoon and it was the perfect little spot for a glass of wine. They are kinda hidden, but once you find them, you won't be disappointed. Defiantly would be coming back here for sure. Easy to find and to get to. The parking was easy there is even handicap parking right in front of the building. Good wines, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Ventura County has several small producers of Lodi sourced wine, because Lodi grapes are much, much, much cheaper than Napa grapes. You would be shocked to learn that many Napa wines have up to 15% Lodi grapes so they can keep costs down. Lodi wine is wine is very drinkable, though seldom is it spectacular. Just being honest. What sets each Lodi-based wine maker apart is the grape varietals offered and the atmosphere. Lucas Sellers shares an "alley" with Enegren Brewery, so you have nice outside seating, food truck and music. The pourers at Lucas Sellers are friendly, which is important. If I see some good music coming to Lucas, I will be there in a heart beat. read more

Surprisingly good wine. Fruit sourced from up and down the coast. They have a really broad spectrum of wines and all that we tasted are handled deftly. All the wines tasted had a depth, and sufficient time in barrel, to really shine but yet were very accessible. The winemaker and wife? Were very friendly and engaging. Tasted two of the reds, Brothers and Sisters, each were different both delicious. The atmosphere is cozy, the pourers very friendly! Owners are a bit dismissive to their members who are their bread & butter. I found it to be pretty rude. Their wine is not all that to have such attitude. If you offer your perks to members but then resent them for taking advantage of them... why offer the perks?? Your members are always spending money and supporting your business. "How to win friends & influence people" the more you give the more you get. I wouldn't join. Wine tasting should be a fun, joyous experience in an environment that inspires happiness & friendship and creativity. Not here ... owners should do a personality face-lift (employees are friendlier...did a good job there, as people will come back for that.) Hopefully this is a wake up call....you don't want to lose what you have. read more

My husband and I met friends at Lucas for the New Year's Party and what a great party it was. This was BY FAR, the best New Year's I've ever had! We love Amber and Smoke (the band that played) so that was an even added bonus. Luigi and Kimberley (the owners) made everyone feel like family. The snacks and desserts were yummy and plentiful! I can't quite understand Robin S.'s review. It was cold at the very beginning of the night but it quickly warmed up as more people arrived. We were told that they needed to keep the back doors open due to the noise, but I know that they offered blankets to everyone. Did you ask for a small taste prior to deciding on which wine to purchase? I'm a white wine drinker but my husband loves (and collects reds) and there is often sediment in his wines. Again, did you tell anyone at Lucas about your disappointment? It seems like that would've been a more helpful and fair way to deal with your concerns instead of posting such a bad review. Love this place! The Chardonnay is great and I don't even like Chardonnay. I also really like the Grenache. The decor is eclectic barnyard with lots of seating which is perfect to listen to whoever is playing that night.
