Ojai Vineyard is most certainly not your typical winery experience but more so a true "tasting room". It offers three types of tastings that are preselected. Whites only $20, Red only $25 and the library tasting $35. My boyfriend and I tried one all white and one all red. We don't have the pallet to appreciate the library and opted out of that tasting. The wines are from all over neighboring areas of central California. This is the part that I didn't really understand considering some wines were local to ojai, others in San ynez, Lompoc & etc. In the middle of our tasting our sommeliers changed which was a little shocking considering they did not excuse themselves in the middle of the tasting. It wasn't a big deal it was just ..odd... we've never had this happen during a tasting. The service was very OK from the first sommelier, her pours were inconsistent. My boyfriend received a full glass and I would receive around an ounce. She also wasn't the best at informing us about the wines, the second sommelier (which was great!) corrected several things that the previous woman had informed us about. The first younger woman seemed like she had an off day and didn't want to be there so it kind of sucked to have that.... Especially since we had a hunch something was going to happen. I'm kind of glad the second woman came in to save the day. ....anyway.... If you purchase two bottles, you would receive 1 tasting for free. It really didn't feel like it was for free because it ended up going back into their pocket. I didn't like that the tip was based on my total purchase and NOT the tasting, so that's why it felt that the tasting wasn't free. That was my fault I suppose.. Anyway, the patio space is cute, feels very personable and peaceful, especially on a bright sunny day after brunch (or before hehe).. The interior is more sophisticated and well air conditioned. It also has a cute layout that's very modern. It's pet friendly assuming that your pooch is calm and doesn't disturb the peace of the place. Food is NOT served here. I highly suggest bringing some snacks if you're going to do all three tastings. I was able to get a last minute reservation the night before for a party of 2 but I recommend planning ahead and doing your research to avoid any mishaps in terms of experiences. I'd come again but not sure if it would be my first pick all things considered.

Our party tried two types of flights, the base for $20 and the library for $35. The base is worth trying, the library is noticeably better. Service was a little on the chill side, so expect to wait around a little after your sat. No big deal, this allows for conversation at the table. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about their wines. Ojai vineyards tasting room has a clean crisp beautiful inside, small yet spaced out. Great location which is just around the corner from the main street.

Got here a bit too late to try a tasting, but the employees were so kind and the interior decor is so fun! We were still able to sit and enjoy a glass of wine, and my Pinot Noir was great. We learned that the building is an old fire station, which explains the nice open windows that used to be the garage. I love the little details like the door made of wine barrels and the lights made of the top of wine bottles. Big open floor plan and a cute front patio - dog friendly like most places in Ojai and I'd like to come back for a tasting!

This spacious wine tasting room is located in old town center and convenient to public parking. They carry a variety of both white and red wines, with some premium collections too. However, their staff weren't so friendly, which kinda ruined my experience here.

Came here on a weekend during a nice getaway to Ojai. In the middle of summer so it was quite hot. We had the pupper with us so we sat on the patio in the back. While the wine flights we had were quite tasty, and I enjoyed the uniqueness of each wine and the progression that was set, we felt a little abandoned on the patio. After our first pour we were left alone for QUITE some time... our server seemed to be busy taking care of the inside guests. No problem- I took our glasses inside and asked for our second wines. After this they seemed to remember us a little better and the flight continued on a more regular cadence. Would probably have been fine had we just sat indoors but maybe think twice if you are looking for an outdoor option.

True Story: We came for the pumpkins... We stayed cause the grapes... We couldn't leave because the kids... Let me explain. On October 30th 2023, after picking our oldest daughter up from school, we had a little roadtrip planned to beautiful Ojai to check out... (Drum Roll Please) "Ojai's Pumpkin Patch" (o.k. Now a sad Trombone) Womp. Womp. Wompppp. What an absolute bust! Let's just say, we drove in, then we drove Right. Back. Out. Yes, after driving 43 miles for a pumpkin patch that just didn't pan out, my wife and I both looked at each other and said "well now what?" And THIS is where the grapes come in! Yes, beautiful grapes. Beautiful smushed grapes. Beautifully smushed liquid grapes. Beautifully smushed liquid grapes turned into red, white, even rosé colored... It's wine people! We stayed cause the Wine!! Yeah, as we made our way through this quaint little town, we decided that Ojai just wasn't ready to see us go. So we looked up wine tasting and Ojai Vineyards was the first place that popped up. And just in case you are keeping score... So far, Pumpkins 0, Fermented grapes 1. First things first... We Parked... (this may be foreshadowing) Then we made our way into Ojai Vineyards tasting room to check out their "liquid grapes". The tasting room itself was very nice; lots of open table seating, wine bar seating and a few outdoor tables perfect for our Southern California climate. Wine is offered by the glass, the bottle or in a flight. We went with a bottle of their 2022 Estate Wine which is 60% Ambulo Blanc, 40% Caminante Blanc, and 100% Delicious! The bottle features a beautiful oak tree? on the front and has a cool story on the back of how it's produced (see my photos below). We enjoyed the wine so much, we decided to take a bottle home to enjoy. Also available: Whites ------- -Sauvignon Blanc -Chardonnay -Rosé Reds ----- -Pinot Noir -Barbera -Syrah The staff was great, helpful and we really enjoyed relaxing while sipping on our chilled wine. Let's just say, Ojai Vineyards made the one-way 43 mile trip a little easier to swallow... Why we couldn't leave After we left the tasting room... A sign that read "Walkway to Libbey Park" was right in front of us. And if you have kids like us and you drag them to a wine tasting room while you and your significant other have a little R & R, there's No chance in hell your kids aren't gonna see that park sign once you're done. And trust me, they saw it! (But you know what, as good as the wine was, nothing beats chasing my kids around a park in a little game of tag) So the next time you find yourself coming up to Ojai for some pumpkins, remember this one important fact: You can't make wine out of pumpkins! Instead, come check out The Ojai Vineyards tasting room and see how they are turning grapes into wine!

Such a sweet owner !!!! I felt so welcomed! I thank my amiga, Raquel R. For introducing me to this place! Amazing wines! The Rosé .... Wowzers!! Loved it! Super cute space . You can sit inside or at their front or back outdoor seating areas! For the pick up party ( where you pick up your wine), they had tacos ! They won me over there !!! Once I hear limitless tacos and real authentic tacos at that ... you got me !! Amazing customer service. I can't wait to go back. I really wish them all the success!

Nice tasting room with different flight options. Indoor & outdoor space in downtown Ojai. Their birya quesadillas space is modern & minimalistic. We enjoyed and had a relaxing time.

We were driving to Santa Barbara and decided to go out the road for a bit and find this beautiful spot call THE OJAI VINEYARD located on OJAI downtown, great wines and amazing prices , really recommended, you can walk around the little town is beautiful.

What a wonderful wine tasting experience! Alana was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the wines & the company. They let us bring our tired pooch Poe inside while we tasted a lovely white & red flight. We took home a couple bottles. Def stop in!

The cutest tasting room! We got there only 15 minutes before closing (we didn't know they closed at 5) and the woman behind the bar was kind enough to let us still come in for a glass. She was so sweet and gave us the best recommendations. Myself and each of my friends absolutely loved the wine we tried! Fair pricing as well.

If you know me, then you already know... this is my happy place…read more I don't even know where to begin because this place has become so much more than a tasting room to me. Majestic Oak is my happy place. Seriously. The second I walk downstairs, I instantly relax. I don't know what it is... maybe it's the red umbrellas, the beautiful greenery, the cozy little patio, or just the overall atmosphere. I close my eyes for a second, take a deep breath, and it honestly feels like I've escaped into my own little world. I come here about once a month, and there's a reason I became a wine club member. Yes, the location is absolutely beautiful, but let's talk about the wine... every. single. one. has been amazing. I'm usually more of a red wine girl, but even their whites have surprised me. They're crisp, refreshing, and just plain delicious. I honestly haven't had a wine here that I didn't love. But what really keeps me coming back is the people. Rita deserves the biggest shout-out. It's not just that she takes amazing care of us every time we visit. It's her personality. Her knowledge. Her passion for the wines. She makes you feel like you've been friends forever, and somehow every visit feels even more special because she's there. She has this way of making everyone feel welcome, and that kind of hospitality is something you can't teach. For me, Majestic Oak isn't just somewhere to drink wine. It's where I go to slow down, breathe, laugh, and enjoy life for a little while. It has become my home away from home, and I honestly can't imagine a month going by without stopping in. If you're anywhere near Ojai, do yourself a favor and visit. Come for the wine... stay because you'll probably fall in love with everything else too. One last thing... we stopped by today, as usual, and Kristy took such incredible care of us! She was so welcoming, attentive, and made our visit just as memorable. It reminded me that the amazing service here isn't just one person; it's the culture. Every visit leaves us feeling like family, and that's something truly special. (Oh... and if you see Bruce, make sure you say hi! He's the sweetest little furball and just might steal your heart before your first sip of wine. ) Thank you, Majestic Oak, for creating a place that truly feels... Majestic.

Customer service was still great, but I noticed a few changes that took away from the experience for us personally. I do like that the tastings are no longer in the plastic tubes, although the tubes did feel like they held a little more wine. What we didn't enjoy was that when multiple people ordered the same tastings, they were placed into the same shared glass/container. In our party of four, three of us had the same six tastings and had to share. I appreciated the bow on the glass showing the pours, but I preferred the previous setup where everyone had their own individual tastings. It may seem small, and thankfully our group was fine sharing, but it made the experience feel less personal and honestly made us less interested in doing tastings again on future visits. Some people also may not feel comfortable sharing containers or touching the same glass. Nothing terrible at all, just some feedback from longtime visitors who loved how it used to be. On this visit we actually ended up ordering a bottle afterward instead, and moving forward we'll probably just continue doing that rather than the tastings.

I enjoyed my first Grüner Veltliner white wine, 2024 Grunay (a hint of sweetness yet still crisp to the tongue and a light body). I also enjoyed their Tempranillo red wine, 2023 Taransay (well balanced medium body, slightly on the drier side but not too much, and had some nice tannins), this is the full glass I ordered after the tasting. I was not a fan of the 2021 Soay (Red Blend of 70% Granache, 15% Petit Verdot and 15% Petit Syrah) - I really wanted to like it as I typically like this blend, however there was a strange aftertaste that reminded me of water that was rinsed in dried rice. Tour included about 10-12 people total and was completely free (!!) in hopes of attendees buying wine bottles at the end (which was fairly priced and very good - our group of 3 got 4 bottles for $120 total.) The owners are celebrating the lost art of breaking bread and sharing time and stories with strangers over wine - felt like something that you'd find in Italy. I didn't really know what to expect since there weren't a ton of reviews for this, but my group (2 adult sisters + our mom) really loved the concept of this entire experience. It's not a typical wine tasting where they give you 5 wines and leave you be at a table, so wouldn't go here if that's what you're looking for. But if you're looking for a unique, less touristy experience, this is an amazing place to learn more about the history of wine in the region directly from wine-makers, stroll around a beautiful vineyard, and connect with others in Ojai enjoying the same things. It gives you the freedom to taste everything at your own pace. You order the tasting first, then they give you a tray with delicious sourdough bread from a local bakery. The staff explained that the balsamic vinegars are imported, while all of their olive oils are produced in-house, except for the truffle oil since the local soil isn't suitable for growing truffles. After that, you head over to the tasting section where you can grab samplers of the olive oils and balsamic vinegars before finding a seat outside under the olive trees. It certainly would be more aesthetically pleasing than a black plastic cafeteria tray. The bread served on our particular day was also a bit too hard so the inside pieces would crumble a lot. We were able to ask for another piece so that we could use the sturdier outside areas and they were gracious with that. However, for $20 really can't complain! We were also told that we could sample anything even if it was closed, which was great. We were focused on the balsamic vinegar. We tried the Blackberry Reserved Balsamic, and it was amazing. I didn't ask, but they have like a salad recipe that it would be paired with or possibly sell salad there as well. So glad we decided to stop by. The lady who helped us was kind and friendly. Overall, we will be returning since the service and tasting was a pleasant experience.
