The service was friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. Their Syrahs are my favorite--they're consistently excellent and the reason I keep coming back. Ojai Vineyard is most certainly not your typical winery experience but more so a true "tasting room". It offers three types of tastings that are preselected. Whites only $20, Red only $25 and the library tasting $35. My boyfriend and I tried one all white and one all red. We don't have the pallet to appreciate the library and opted out of that tasting. The wines are from all over neighboring areas of central California. This is the part that I didn't really understand considering some wines were local to ojai, others in San ynez, Lompoc & etc. In the middle of our tasting our sommeliers changed which was a little shocking considering they did not excuse themselves in the middle of the tasting. It wasn't a big deal it was just ..odd... we've never had this happen during a tasting. The service was very OK from the first sommelier, her pours were inconsistent. My boyfriend received a full glass and I would receive around an ounce. She also wasn't the best at informing us about the wines, the second sommelier (which was great!) corrected several things that the previous woman had informed us about. The first younger woman seemed like she had an off day and didn't want to be there so it kind of sucked to have that.... Especially since we had a hunch something was going to happen. I'm kind of glad the second woman came in to save the day. ....anyway.... If you purchase two bottles, you would receive 1 tasting for free. It really didn't feel like it was for free because it ended up going back into their pocket. I didn't like that the tip was based on my total purchase and NOT the tasting, so that's why it felt that the tasting wasn't free. That was my fault I suppose.. Anyway, the patio space is cute, feels very personable and peaceful, especially on a bright sunny day after brunch (or before hehe).. The interior is more sophisticated and well air conditioned. It also has a cute layout that's very modern. It's pet friendly assuming that your pooch is calm and doesn't disturb the peace of the place. Food is NOT served here. I highly suggest bringing some snacks if you're going to do all three tastings. I was able to get a last minute reservation the night before for a party of 2 but I recommend planning ahead and doing your research to avoid any mishaps in terms of experiences. We absolutely loved this wine shop in Ojai--such a warm, charming spot with a great selection and relaxed vibe. The staff was friendly and helpful, and after tasting we ended up taking home two bottles for dinner: the Ojai Vineyard Rosé and a Syrah, both of which were excellent and paired perfectly with our meal. The space is beautiful and inviting, and while parking on weekends is about a block away, it was easy and totally worth it. Got here a bit too late to try a tasting, but the employees were so kind and the interior decor is so fun! We were still able to sit and enjoy a glass of wine, and my Pinot Noir was great. We learned that the building is an old fire station, which explains the nice open windows that used to be the garage. I love the little details like the door made of wine barrels and the lights made of the top of wine bottles. Shoutout to my yelp friend Raquel for bringing me and some girlfriends to this spot for a wine pickup party and tasting. The experience was A+ and truly one of the better wine tasting experiences I've been to in a long time. Ojai Vineyard tasting room should surely be on your must stop list when you're in Ojai. The wines were very nice, the atmosphere casual and comfortable, the staff were incredibly nice, and they host a great party with live music and unlimited tacos! My friend being a wine club member was able to get us tickets for this stellar tasting event. The pours were generous and there were at least six wines we were able to sip. However, they were very kind to allow me an additional sip of a wine a liked so much that I wanted another try. Their generosity payed off as I happily bought a bottle of their Riesling so it shows if you are nice then the customers can be just as nice back lol. Again the staff were really great. I was impressed how well staffed they had this place for the tasting / pickup event. Well done team! It was nice that the wine pours kept coming and that the pacing was pretty good. Again, all of the staff were super nice and kind but a standout staff to me was Nick. He gave great recommendations and was just very approachable and nice. Everyone here gave those vibes and I'm just sorry I didn't catch everyone's names. Shoutout to their taco vendor that they use for this event, Tacos Perez 805! They served up some of the best tacos I've had in a long long time. The portions were generous and it was endless tacos, very impressive! The meats were super tasty, I loved their asada and pastor the most. The tortillas were super fresh and made the meal perfection. Loved the two guys working the taco cart, gave father son vibes but even if they weren't, they had a good dynamic. I would definitely hire them for a future party and if Ojai tasting room keeps brining these guys back for their pickup parties, then I could easily see myself becoming a member as they have great wine and adding some stellar food made the day a 10/10. read more

I wish that the staff highlighted more about each of the vineyards or grapes. They seemed to fall into the trap of listing off dozens of meaningless flavors for each wine - "leathery," "dark fruit," "tobacco," "cinnamon" - rather than the grape varieties, cultivation methods, or geographic climate features. True Story: We came for the pumpkins... We stayed cause the grapes... We couldn't leave because the kids... Let me explain. On October 30th 2023, after picking our oldest daughter up from school, we had a little roadtrip planned to beautiful Ojai to check out... (Drum Roll Please) "Ojai's Pumpkin Patch" (o.k. Now a sad Trombone) Womp. Womp. Wompppp. What an absolute bust! Let's just say, we drove in, then we drove Right. Back. Out. Yes, after driving 43 miles for a pumpkin patch that just didn't pan out, my wife and I both looked at each other and said "well now what?" And THIS is where the grapes come in! Yes, beautiful grapes. Beautiful smushed grapes. Beautifully smushed liquid grapes. Beautifully smushed liquid grapes turned into red, white, even rosé colored... It's wine people! We stayed cause the Wine!! Yeah, as we made our way through this quaint little town, we decided that Ojai just wasn't ready to see us go. So we looked up wine tasting and Ojai Vineyards was the first place that popped up. And just in case you are keeping score... So far, Pumpkins 0, Fermented grapes 1. First things first... We Parked... (this may be foreshadowing) Then we made our way into Ojai Vineyards tasting room to check out their "liquid grapes". The tasting room itself was very nice; lots of open table seating, wine bar seating and a few outdoor tables perfect for our Southern California climate. Wine is offered by the glass, the bottle or in a flight. We went with a bottle of their 2022 Estate Wine which is 60% Ambulo Blanc, 40% Caminante Blanc, and 100% Delicious! The bottle features a beautiful oak tree? on the front and has a cool story on the back of how it's produced (see my photos below). We enjoyed the wine so much, we decided to take a bottle home to enjoy. Also available: Whites ------- -Sauvignon Blanc -Chardonnay -Rosé Reds ----- -Pinot Noir -Barbera -Syrah The staff was great, helpful and we really enjoyed relaxing while sipping on our chilled wine. Let's just say, Ojai Vineyards made the one-way 43 mile trip a little easier to swallow... Why we couldn't leave After we left the tasting room... A sign that read "Walkway to Libbey Park" was right in front of us. And if you have kids like us and you drag them to a wine tasting room while you and your significant other have a little R & R, there's No chance in hell your kids aren't gonna see that park sign once you're done. And trust me, they saw it! (But you know what, as good as the wine was, nothing beats chasing my kids around a park in a little game of tag) So the next time you find yourself coming up to Ojai for some pumpkins, remember this one important fact: You can't make wine out of pumpkins! Came here on a weekend during a nice getaway to Ojai. In the middle of summer so it was quite hot. We had the pupper with us so we sat on the patio in the back. While the wine flights we had were quite tasty, and I enjoyed the uniqueness of each wine and the progression that was set, we felt a little abandoned on the patio. After our first pour we were left alone for QUITE some time... our server seemed to be busy taking care of the inside guests. No problem- I took our glasses inside and asked for our second wines. After this they seemed to remember us a little better and the flight continued on a more regular cadence. Ojai Vineyard Tasting Room was the second winery we decided to try during our recent Anniversary trip to the beautiful city of Ojai and it was definitely a great choice. We arrived a couple minutes early when the sommelier (Charlie) came around the corner and opened up the building and invited us in. I was already in love with the look of the outside courtyard here with the vines and ivy look but the inside was beautifully decorated as well with a large open seating area and the glass window displaying all of the various wines was a great touch and looked very classy. We had our pick of tables and sat at a nearby table toward the back near the wine window and were quickly brought the tasting menu. Three different wine tasting options were available, one white wine, one red wine and one mixed wine variety. After looking over the options and being that we had only casually dabbled into the world of wine and still trying to figure out what we like, we went with the mixed wine option. I definitely am still trying to find my footing when it comes to the wine world but these were all great options. During our visit we were treated to a 2021 Chardonnay from the Bien Nacido winery, a 20202 Pinot Noir form the Puerta del Mar winery and a 2019 Syrah from the John Sebastiano line of wines. The Chardonnay and the Pinot Noir were both great options for me (one white and one red so the search for which I like better continues) but the dark Syrah option we had third was not for me. Charlie was amazing throughout our visit and was very knowledgeable and made a plethora of suggestions and was very courteous and pleased to help. A great host can make or break a visit and this was a definite high point for the trip. Overall each tasting was $18 for three wines and we left pleased and happy to have found at least one wine we both enjoyed. Although we did not purchase or bring home a bottle during this trip, I definitely hope to get back here again the next time we are in town for another tasting and and grab a bottle as well. Hats off again to Charlie for the great service and all of the information he was able to provide to make this a great tasting for us both. Came here on an impromptu visit to Ojai. They have a few seatings outside which is where we sat. It was really nice weather to enjoy the outdoors. They do have quite a few seatings inside and I believe in the back outside as well. We got here about 30min before they closed and we were able to get seated. They have two tastings to choose from. I went for the library flight which is a combination of red and white. All were really good. One was a surprise to me being the type of wine it was in a good way though. Ojai Vineyard is a little gem in the small town. Like most wine tasting rooms, there is not a food menu, however it is surrounded by great food spots nearby that are walking distance. A great location that is perfect for an afternoon of wine tasting. The space offers indoor and outdoor seating. Indoors tends to get busy and social, which is wonderful for bigger parties. The outdoor patio space is smaller and quieter, perfect for a date or spending time with someone. Be warned, there is only ONE restroom for the location. Wine tasting definitely catches up to you and getting stuck in the bathroom line was not fun. I went for Mother's Day and made sure to set a reservation that helped with getting a little more attention before the Mother's Day rush later in the day. I highly recommend setting reservations beforehand to get that extra care! We had a white wine tasting menu and were excited to try the different notes that came in the varieties. The wines came from the local Santa Barbara vineyards, and staff were extremely knowledgeable about the soils and temperatures that affected the taste. We had our full wedding at Ojai Vineyard Tasting Room, ceremony plus reception, and Mikaela and the staff there truly went above and beyond to make it a beautiful and well-run event. From the beginning, Mikaela helped us plan a lovely celebration, and she worked directly with our caterer and musicians ahead of time to make sure everything came together. On the day of, she and her staff were always one step ahead of us to ensure everything went smoothly; I had a private tasting room to get ready in before the event, the fresh flowers they put out were gorgeous, and our music, food, and floor plan changes throughout the evening all went very well; Mikaela also made sure I always had a lovely glass of wine between photos and events which was greatly appreciated! Very good wine with many varieties and a range of prices depending on what you desire. Ojai Vineyard is a local winery that is about 3 miles from its tasting room downtown Ojai. They have many options from Sauvignon Blanc to Syrah. They work with UC Davis to develop varietal grapes that are naturally resistant to diseases and that create interesting wines. Because the grapes are locally grown, they pick up unique flavors and the winery uses different techniques to highlight or tweak them in the wine making process. They offer flights for 4 whites, 4 reds and 4 "library" specialty wines. Indoor ad well as outdoor seating. Check out the "library" room with its vast display of impressive wines. The staff was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. No food offered here, just wines. So be sure to have a little food in your tummy before you go so that you can really enjoy. Buddy and i spent a fantastic day in Ojai recently. After a weekend of partying and rocking out to goth and alternative music at the Cruel World Festival, we both felt the need to go somewhere a bit more relaxed, green and idyllic so Ojai it was. We came here to try out several wines and both of us purchased 2 bottles of their most popular Ballerina Slipper Pink Rosee. For $25 you get to try 4 different wines but if you actually end up buying some bottles of those said wines, that fee is waived. You can tell this is a very popular spot in Ojai. Service was friendly, and very well-informed. My friend and I wanted to do some shopping along Ojai's central plaza street but didn't want to drag our bottles of wine with us. The girls behind the counter kindly said we could leave our purchases behind their counter while we shopped and pick them up later, which we did. I'd have no problem coming back here again. read more
